(Chapter 1: An Adventure Begins)
What would happen if our heroes were a bunch of D&D nerds that after one fateful night decided to take their chances and dive into the world of the supernatural.
(March 6th, 2016, Kuoh Town, Japan, 4:28 Pm)
It was a few days after the event that had both given our trio of Issei, Aika, and Matsuda a collective wtf moment and had taken one of their friends from them, all the while wondering what the hell to do going forward.
"Guys. I think I have a solution to what we gotta do after what happened on Wednesday." Issei finally spoke up
"Just what in the hell do you have to say about last night. I don't think anything is gonna help what happened to Motohama...The man got obliterated by whatever the hell that was!" Matsuda replied as the fact that he saw his fellow pervert get torn to shreds was going to be nightmare fuel for the next couple of months
"I know that. But what I'm going to suggest can maybe..just maybe, help us survive whatever the hell is out there in the town that wants to kill us." Issei said back with a dead serious look that was rare for the usually jovial brunette
"Alright, lay it on us. What do you have in mind? But it better be good, because I am not in the mood for any horse-shit." Matsuda responded wondering what it was that Issei had in mind
With that Issei described his hail Mary plan of the fact that since the supernatural was real like in the D&D campaigns they played, then why not take advantage of it and try and go forward and do stuff akin to what they did in their campaigns. His thought process to spawn this plan came from the fact that if the supernatural and mythical were indeed real, then it only made sense that they could become as fantastical as the characters they played in a given amount of time.
"That's basically the gist of it, guys. I mean think about it you guys. Is it really too bizarre to try and do this? I mean this is pretty much the best shot we got to protect ourselves. Unless you wanna end up as monster chow." Issei spoke as he finished telling them of his solution
"I don't man, this..this just seems a little bit crazy to me." Matsuda spoke still finding this all too be a bit much
"Not to me. Considering how we just witnessed one of our friends become a Happy Meal for whatever that demon..thing was. I say we go for it." Aika spoke up in wanting to voice her opinion
"Think about it. As it stands, we are easy pickings for whatever creatures are out there. Every moment we don't take towards building up our own strength; is another moment we are left at the mercy of the monsters in our home. That is why I wholeheartedly am on board with Issei's plan." Aika added
"Glad you see things my way, Aika." Issei said back
"Of course. It just makes the most sense to do this." Aika replied in seeing this as the best course of option for the three of them
"..If we're gonna do this we're gonna need to start having something to help fuck shit up. Because I doubt we can fight anything with our bare hands. Unless any of you have dope martial arts skills that make you Jon Jones, Conor Mcgregor and Francis Ngannou on steroids times ten. Then we're gonna need some stuff to help us out." Matsuda spoke knowing that unless any one of them had super awesome martial arts skills they were gonna need some gear
"He does have a point, Issei. We are going to need equipment or what have you to be successful at this." Aika said back in agreement with Matsuda
"It ain't just equipment we're gonna need. If we're gonna be doing this as a dope as shit adventuring team. We're gonna need to stock up on resources, put ourselves out there for quests and shit, and definitely set up a base of operations around here. Because I doubt any of our folks are gonna be ok with us using their house as our own Batcave." Matsuda replied
"You got a point about that, man. So the moment we get a chance we're gonna really need to invest in a lair. I really don't want to explain to my mom and dad why I'm keeping my armor and gear in my closet." Issei spoke as both Matsuda and Aika nodded in sharing the sentiment
"Now here's the real question. How long do we want to start training, before we start taking our stand against what's out there?" Issei questioned the two before him
"I'd say three months of intensive training. That way we have enough time to hit the ground running with whatever we want to specialize in. In addition, it will be enough time for us to be at an adequate level to not be caught off guard by any creature in Kuoh." Aika answered back
With the bespectacled pervert seeing that time frame as enough time to get themselves up to snuff, so that when they did go up against the monsters within their hometown that they would be ready to take them on adequately.
"That sounds fine by me. I've been needing a reason to get back into shape." Matsuda said with a semi lighthearted grin
"Alright, then its settled. In June we officially start up as monster slayers and future adventurers." Issei spoke
"And once we're strong enough we go hunting for the son of a bitch who killed Motohama!" Matsuda exclaimed in wanting to get vengeance for his fallen friend
"Oh, no doubt about it. Once we've leveled up and then some, we're hunting down whatever it was that killed him and returning the favor." Issei replied with equal resolve to match his bald-headed pervert in arms
"..This is gonna be a long year, Issei. But at least it'll be a fun one at that." Aika spoke as the trio of perverts looked at each other in solidarity to grow stronger as a unit and avenge their fallen friend
(June 10th, 2016, 3 months later, Kuoh Town, 8:40 Pm)
It was months later for the trio who had undergone their training and were now sitting atop a building mainly dicking around until they found their first monster to go after and take down.
"Never would've pegged you for being a wizard of all things." Issei spoke while Aika was fucking around via shooting Rays of Frost into the summer night
"I didn't think I was one either. At least until I screwed around one night to see if I could do magic...Which wound up with me accidentally casting the Burning Hands spell and nearly torching my bedroom." Aika replied in vivid memory of the event
Luckily she was quickly able to go downstairs and retrieve their fire extinguisher to put out the flames caused by her spell, before they could rage out of control and into a full-fledged house fire.
"Real good thing your house didn't burn down and all. Then we would've been screwed without our friendly neighborhood wizard." Matsuda spoke up thankful for Aika and her house being in one piece
"Also I did not expect you to go the route of making yourself a rogue, Matsuda. You don't seem like the guy who would be for stealth and sneaking around." Issei said as he looked towards the bald-headed teen
"Same for you going the Fighter route. I mean you were freakishly strong growing up, so I would've pegged you for trying to be a Barbarian." Matsuda spoke back as he saw that Issei was geared up in chain-mail and a broadsword with him
"I'm not nearly enough of a roided out rage monster lad to be a Barbarian. Besides, I like to wear stuff that will keep my insides from getting absolutely shredded." Issei replied in much preferring the route of a Fighter than a Barbarian
"Besides, what's your reason for going the Rogue route?" Issei questioned the bald-headed pervert
"Other than my being able to sneak in and see some stacked babes get naked. I figured it would really get me in shape the best without me getting fucked up by monsters all that much. Ya boy is making sure to get through all of this with the least amount of damage possible… Also, I want to do sick-ass backflips, so I can style on people." Matsuda answered back on why he chose the route of being a rogue
"Fair. Anyways, guys. If we're all ready, let's get ready to slay our first monster." Issei spoke as he jumped up from his seat ready to get started
"Once we get stronger, I'm so learning the Fly spell and the Teleportation Circle spell. Because fuck having to constantly walk everywhere to kill something." Aika replied
So with no further delay, the trio of perverse teens went off into the night in search of their first-ever creature in hopes of proving themselves as would-be adventurers/monster slayers. With it being around some 30 minutes and change that they eventually happened onto their first target which looked akin to a minotaur, except with vivid lime green fur, 4 pairs of horns, raptor-like claws and feet, and a snout full of shark-like teeth.
The trio after a few brief words had nodded and went to get into their positions, with it being on Issei's mark that all 3 of them launched their separate attacks at the minotaur-like fiend who had been feeding on a corpse. Matsuda launching a throwing knife that hit it in its right shoulder blade and sank nearly into the hilt, a vibrant dark green magic circle appeared before Aika as she cast the Scorching Ray spell; the rays of arcane flame punching their way into the fiend who let out a braying-like roar, as 2 of the rays punched a baseball-sized hole into its gut.
Last of all was Issei who came leaping in with an almighty overhand swing that took off a hearty chunk from the minotaur-like Devils' face, the beast glowering at the trio who now made themselves known to it. With Issei in retaliation and due to being in striking range from it was caught by a backfist that staggered him as he felt some of his teeth nearly come loose as crimson began to fill his mouth, but luckily enough he was able to clumsily block its next attack.
With Matsuda rushing into distract it by drawing out two Bowie knives and catching the fiend in the lower ribs with the left one, before slicing it across the stomach with the right one in his free-hand; but before it could retaliate against the two male perverts. It found itself blasted back by Aika who had ran up and struck it with a Thunderwave spell, the creature being surprisingly sent back 10 feet from the sheer force behind the spell as it landed bloodied on its feet.
"Thanks for the assist guys." Issei groaned as he spat out blood and a cracked in half wisdom tooth
"Don't thank us just yet, Issei. I think the big guy wants round two." Matsuda pointed out as the bull-headed fiend was glowering at them while sparking with energy
"Then let's give it hell then." Issei replied as he saw an aura of vibrant lime green forming around the creature
The creature then rushed out at them in a breakneck dash in a thin coat of infernal energy, with Aika quickly using Misty Step to evade it in a cloud of emerald and black colored smoke; while Issei and Matsuda had to both dive out of the way to avoid getting gored by it. With Matsuda quickly launching one of his throwing knives out at the bull-headed fiend that struck it soundly in the sternum, the cry of pain and anger was enough for Matsuda to quickly dart behind a tree and hide to prevent being its next target.
Yet it was blasted in the face from a Ray of Frost courtesy of Aika, which set up for Issei to rush forth and impale his broadsword into the fiends' stomach; the minotaur-like Devil simply glared at Aika who was hitting it with the most damaging of attacks and proceeded to go after her, if only for the fact it couldn't see where Matsuda was. With it shoving Issei to the side and going to charge after and try to attempt to gore the pigtailed wizard, the keyword attempt to, as Issei quickly jammed the blade of his broadsword into one of its meaty thighs hard enough to nearly hamstring it.; stopping the beast in place.
In retaliation for it Issei got stomped in the stomach by the creature, which knocked the wind out of the armored brunette and left him clutching his stomach in pain from the blow; something that angered Matsuda enough to have him rush out of his hiding place with a war-cry. With him jumping forwards and driving one of his Bowie knives into the right eye socket of the 8-foot tall furred beast, the blade of it nearly went into the hilt while ocular fluid and thick red-violet colored ichor poured down its face.
The bald-headed pervert then drug his friend out of reach while the creature was busy braying and roaring from now being rendered half-blind from the sneak-attack; all the while Issei was wheezing and coughing from the vicious stomp to his stomach.
"You alright, Issei?" Matsuda asked as Issei continued coughing and wheezing
"I'll..be fine. Right now, let's kill the horned dickhead while we can." Issei answered back
"Hey, I could use some help here! I'm not built for up close and personal!" Aika shouted in having to raise up a shield of lime green energy to protect herself from getting gored by the fiend
"On it!" Both perverts called back as they rushed into action
With Matsuda getting its attention by chucking another throwing knife at its back, which allowed for Aika to disengage from the fiend safely without incurring its wrath; while Issei launched himself at the beast and drove his broadsword once more into its bloodied stomach. Before following through with an upward slash that nearly disemboweled the creature and nearly dropped it to one knee, as it glared daggers at Issei whom it tried to punch had it not been for Aika casting her shield spell over at Issei to protect him.
With her then firing off a Magic Missile spell that slammed a trio of darts made of arcane force into its chest that once more brought the fiend onto its knees as the continuous assault from the trio had wrought upon it. The group seeing this decided to press their advantage as the bull-headed fiend glared at them furiously for having brought it to such a bloodied and battered state, all the while the trio were still holding strong as Aika decided to provide cover fire for the two via another Thunderwave that sent the fiend flying.
Which allowed for Matsuda to get the drop on it by thrusting both Bowie knives into its ribs; piercing its lungs and major blood vessels, while Issei with an almighty roar had leaped forward and delivered the killing blow via impaling the fiend with his broadsword. The blade being driven down to the hilt into its dense muscular neck, going through the muscle of its throat and severing its spine; all the while the garbled noises of its death throes were being warped as it choked upon its own blood.
Once the fiend had stopped flailing about in its death throes the trio soon got up and sat back breathing in moderate to near heavy effort at the fact that together they managed to defeat a monster all on their own.
"...Holy shit, I can't believe we did it." Matsuda said in near disbelief of what they accomplished
"I told you guys we could do it… It was just gonna be more difficult than we thought…" Issei replied with a bloodied grin
"You gonna be alright man? You got your shit rocked by whatever the hell that thing was." Matsuda asked the beaten up brunette
"That is a good question. You did take a beating from whatever that thing was, you sure your gonna be alright?" Aika asked as Issei after a few wheezing coughs stood himself up with the aid of his broadsword
"I'll be fine you guys. Besides, this is just a small price to pay on the long road to us being awesome. I mean heck, I can't really call myself a frontliner if I can't take some heat every now and again." Issei answered back in waving off what he endured as nothing
"Besides, it isn't like I lost a limb or came close to death. If any of those things happened. Then I'd be worried. Until then, I say just dust it right off and keep going until we're swimming in all the pussy. I mean don't we also wanna do this so we can see all the types of bitches that are out there?" Issei added with a cocksure grin on his face
"Your not wrong. I would like to get it on with a fine ass Goliath or Elf...that would be awesome!" Matsuda said with a semi-lecherous grin
"I concur. It would be nice to do some 'research' on the females of the supernatural." Aika agreed with the bald rogue
'l...Mental note invest in the Invisibility and Greater Invisibility spells for "research" purposes in the future.' Aika noted to herself on what spells to learn in the future
"So what the hell do we do now?" Matsuda asked looking at Issei
"Right now, I wanna get something to eat after going head to head with a demon minotaur...Sound good to you guys?" Issei answered back while the two nodded
"Then its settled, let's get our happy asses something to eat!" Issei spoke as with that the trio headed off in search of food
(5 days later, June 15th, 2016, 1:45 Pm, Kuoh Town, Japan)
It was a few days after Issei, Aika, and Matsuda's first-ever victory against their first monster when he was met with the appearance of the trio's DM for their Thursday night campaign; in the form of Student Council Vice President Tsubaki Shinra.
"Oh hey, Tsubaki. How've you been?!" Issei asked whilst calling over his Dungeon Master
"Oh, hello, Issei. I've been doing rather well." Tsubaki answered back as she headed over towards the brunette
"By the way...how have you and the others been since...Motohama's unfortunate incident?" Tsubaki asked as she sat next to Issei
"..It was a bit rough at first...Considering that it looked like he got mauled by a bear..and that's saying it nicely." Issei replied still remembering the sight of his now-deceased friend that would haunt him for days to come
"But other than that I've been doing pretty well. Aika, Matsuda and I have been hanging out more often since then. So far its been a blast." Issei added while omitting the part of them now being monster slayers
"That's good to know, Issei. Also sorry to you guys about putting everything off, but with everything going on and us being down a player. It's been really hard to try and start up a new campaign." Tsubaki replied
"Wait a minute...Aren't you friends with Sona?" Issei asked the raven-haired Devil before him
"I am. Why do you ask?" Tsubaki responded
"If she doesn't got anything to do during the week. Then why not have her join up with us?" Issei suggested to her
"You want Sona to join us for our Wednesday game? Any reason why?" Tsubaki asked
"Well, from what you tell us. You are good friends with her. Plus she does like strategy games and when you think about it D&D is a strategy game as much as its a roleplaying game. Also, it wouldn't hurt to let another person into our group while you're picking out another campaign to set up for us." Issei answered back
"It isn't a half-bad idea. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to have her join. She could certainly use something to take her mind off things." Tsubaki responded
With her seeing Dungeons and Dragons as something that would feed well into Sona's mind for strategy-based games and give her something to relax; between her being co-overseer of Kuoh and the other headaches that came from being a Devil heiress and sister to a Satan.
'Besides, it would help my long con of getting next to Sona become complete. Because holy shit is she thick and I want some of that!' Issei thought to himself over the rather bottom-heavy Student Council President
"So I guess that means she'll be joining us for our Wednesday game, then?" Issei assumed
"I'll check with her to see if she's available for it. If she is then she'll have a seat at the table...That also means I'll have to help her make her own character." Tsubaki told the brunette
"If you want I can save you the trouble of helping her build her character. That way you aren't having to bust your butt between setting stuff up for the new campaign and helping her make her first character." Issei offered
"That would be wonderful, Issei. I'd really appreciate it." Tsubaki replied
"Its no problem, Tsubaki. I mean you give up your time to make awesome worlds for us schmucks to play in after school. So the least I can do is help you out." Issei said back, all too fine to do Tsubaki a solid
"Thank you. I really, really appreciate it." Tsubaki spoke
"So..what are we gonna be playing?" Issei asked the Mirror Alice wielder
"Well, I have it planned out to where we'll be starting out with the Lost Mines of Phandelver. From there it'll shift gears into Hoard of the Dragon Queen and the Rise of Tiamat. All of which will have my personal spin on it, that way you can all enjoy it being as great as I can possibly make it." Tsubaki informed the brunette Fighter
"Sounds great! I'm sure you'll gonna make the campaign awesome and then some. You always do great with your games. If anything I'm proud to call you my Dungeon Master, Tsubaki." Issei responded causing a bit of a smile to form on her face from the compliment
"It has been a pleasure DMing you guys for nearly 2 years now. You three are really some standout players." Tsubaki spoke
"Once we start this new campaign, I will be excited to play with you again." Issei replied
"That reminds me. When are we gonna start the new campaign?" Issei asked Tsubaki
"Once Sona gives me her answer on if she'll be joining or not. We will be starting either next month, or in late August. I want to make sure that everything is perfect when we start up again." Tsubaki answered back
The Sitri Queen wanted to make sure that all her bases were covered when she started the new campaign in a few months, as she took great pride in being a Dungeon Master and as such when doing so; always made sure that everything she did was going to be as great as she could possibly make it.
"That's perfect! I'll tell Aika and Matsuda when we're gonna start back up again." Issei said back
"Good to know." Tsubaki replied before her stomach growled
"...I was gonna ask if you wanted to grab lunch with me, but considering what I just heard. I'll take that as a yes." Issei spoke as the bespectacled Devil semi-sheepishly nodded
"Alright then, let's go. I know a burger joint that's not too far from here." Issei added as he got up and with that the duo headed off to grab lunch for the day
(2 days later, June 17th, 2016, Student Council Room, 12:13 Pm)
It was the following Friday as Tsubaki was with Sona in trying to get her to join her Wednesday night campaign with the neo-Perverted Trio among other things on the Sitri heiress's mind.
"Even you know that it wouldn't hurt to join, Sona. When was the last time you had some fun? Besides, D&D is something that is well within your court. Considering your love of strategy-based games" Tsubaki said while her leader and long-time friend had a pondering look
"You aren't wrong. It has been rather trying lately, between being co-overseer with Rias, Diodora pressing me for a marriage contract and trying to find that blasted Stray that has been an ever-growing thorn in my side." Sona replied as all of the recent events had been enough to invest aspirin and other medication to help with her migraines
"Why Diodora continues to press this is beyond me." Tsubaki spoke
"You would think that Lady Serafall would be enough of a deterrent to ward him off from such things." Tsubaki added in knowing the pigtailed Satan was usually a great deterrent for potential suitors of Sona's
"Normally she would and its one of the few things about her I'm grateful for. However, this isn't the case. Considering that with Akuja being his elder brother and a Satan as well, he has less to worry about concerning her wrath." Sona responded knowing that with Akuja and Serafall being co-workers and Satans that Diodora had far less to worry about
"At this point, Riser would be far better than Diodora. At least he doesn't make my skin crawl every time he arrives. How he is related to Lord Akuja is beyond me." Tsubaki replied as a shiver of unease went through both her and Sona
"I would sooner believe a plague-infested troll is related to him than that man." Tsubaki added in further disdain/disgust
If there was one thing that could be universally agreed upon was that Diodora amongst those in the newest generation of Devils was amongst those of the creepiest and skin-crawling to be around, as behind his facade of warm smiles and semi-flaccid demeanor was the underlying sense of him wanting to open you up like a middle-school project.
"Not to mention less repulsive…I'd sooner eat hellhound excrement than be married to him." Sona spoke in concern to her repulsion with Diodora
"I would share the same sentiments if I was in your position as well, Sona." Tsubaki agreed
"Moving on from subjects that make me want to violently vomit out my insides. When will this campaign of yours be held, Tsubasa?" Sona questioned her Queen
"At the latest, everything will be ready by the end of August. I want everything to be as perfect as possible. We will also be holding a session zero during the weekend before we officially start. That way we can have character creation for everyone and work out anything else concerning characters from personalities, backstories, possible connections to those within the party, and so on and so forth." Tsubaki informed Sona on the timetable of when it would all go down
"That is great timing. Luckily Wednesdays are one of the few days that I am free. Hopefully, I will be free on that weekend as well." Sona spoke in hopes that she could participate
"I hope so too. I am putting a lot of work into making this something greater than the last campaign I ran. So trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed." Tsubaki replied with personal pride in her DMing skills bleeding through into her voice
"I'll be holding you to that, Tsubaki. Still, I will say that playing a campaign of any sort, with the Perverted Trio is something that I never thought I'd see myself doing." Sona spoke back finding such a thing to be nearly surreal
"While their perverse tendencies are rather vulgar and take some getting used to. Beyond that, they are rather fun to be around and make for excellent players. Some that have led to the best moments in our previous campaign. That is why on their behalf I will say that they will help in making this campaign something truly spectacular." Tsubaki replied on the behalf of the neo Pervert Trio
"That is a rather bold statement your making, Tsubaki." Sona spoke now with a look of vested interest on her face
"It isn't one that I would make so callously. Even more without the strong belief that they are that good. In fact their commitment to the game and how they are able to make it something so enjoyable." Tsubaki responded with a small smile on her face
If there was one thing she would give credit to her players for, it was the fact that they made her being a Dungeon Master an absolute blast and made her want to continue to improve her skills as one and made her desire to continue their sessions; if only so she could continue to deliver to the people who gave her such wonderful times.
"Since you are putting this much stock in them as players. Then I am now really curious to how things will play out in this campaign of yours." Sona spoke now curious as to how things would play out
"Excellent! I'll tell everyone your onboard." Tsubaki said excited that her leader would be joining her campaign
"By the way, Issei will be the one helping you on how the game works when we have session zero for our character creation." Tsubaki told the bespectacled Devil
"Issei will be helping me?" Sona questioned
"Yes. In fact, he actually volunteered to help you make your character to save me time while I work on getting the campaign set up." Tsubaki answered back
"How thoughtful of him." Sona spoke although not without hidden skepticism in her voice
"It really was. Now I can dedicate so much more time towards setting up everything to be as great as I want it to be, for everyone. I guarantee that you'll enjoy it!" Tsubaki replied psyched that everyone would be playing in the weeks to come
"I'll be the judge of that, Tsubaki." Sona said back
"Now if you don't mind. I have to get to work on finding this meddlesome stray. At the rate things are going, I can foresee becoming a major problem in the future." Sona added
"Is there anything the peerage and I could do to be of assistance on the issue?" Tsubaki questioned her voice shifting into a more serious tone of voice
"Yes. Have Saji and Momo be put on tracking and detaining this creature. I want this Stray to be located so an end can be put to it." Sona answered back
"Understood. I will have them put on it immediately." Tsubaki spoke as she bowed before heading out to go notify the two of the task given to them
"Playing Dungeons and Dragons with the Perverted Trio...This is going to prove rather interesting." Sona said to herself; curious on how things would unfold in her upcoming campaign
So the adventure begins for our perverse trio as they now begin their path as a group of up-and-coming monster slayers and adventurers. How will their paths go from here? Find out on the new chapters of, DXD: Time for Initiative!

First up we've got our trio of Issei, Aika and Matsuda in their decision to become Adventurers and their subsequent first fight as an adventuring group. With their level of power for now starting out as Level 4 Adventurers and work their way up to being the equivalent of Level 11 Adventurers by canon.
Speaking of their classes and archetypes go as follows. Issei as a Samurai Fighter, Matsuda the Thief Rogue and Aika the School of Evocation Wizard.
Coming up after that is Issei and Tsubaki having their moment with each other and the follow-through of Tsubaki asking Sona to join her upcoming campaign with the new Pervert Trio, which I thought would be neat to write out.
That being said I hope y'all enjoy this story and what's to come in the future chapters of it as well as favoriting, following and sending reviews so that we can hopefully make this a pretty good if not potentially great story. With flames for the most part will be ignored unless you got anything nice to say or that helps the story then go somewhere else.
