Hello everyone, and I have another MHA story that I wanted to make for the first time. During my first time making my first MHA fanfics, they were focused on romance. But I wanted to try something else aside from that.

So, I started to create this story I made both on my own and with some inspiration that helped me create this. And basically, this story idea that I come up is an AU of Izuku Midoriya. So, before reading the first chapter, I just want to imply some important stuff, that I hope that you'll understand. This is an AU so anything from the MHA Canon version will be scrapped away that focuses anything about Izuku in it. And aside from Izuku, there might be some changes as well from the other characters that are in the anime, you know for creative reasons.

Also, there are gonna be some manga spoilers for those who know about the current arc, but I'll try not to add in some spoiler details.

But this is where I can stop here for now, since I got nothing else to add. I hope you all enjoy the first chapter of my story idea.

Happy reading!

AIR FORCE HERO

CHAPTER 1: How It All Started

Quirks. What are they? Is it a word? Or just some personality trait or behavioral trait? Actually, it is, but it's totally different.

They're called 'superpowers' or Meta Abilities.

In a world where eighty percent of the population can gain a Quirk of their own, things have been rough for the world ever since. Not only did it starts from a baby who can radiate light or a man who wanted to make a difference for the people with Quirks, but it also became as if everything came from a comic book and entered the real world, where people have a choice to use them in life. And, speaking of Quirks, there was also one phenomenon that happened in the world of Quirks.

Five years ago, a mysterious villain named All For One has risen from back from the villain society as he and his protégé, Tomura Shigaraki, ruled the world when the Heroes attempted to stop them for good after getting information on their onslaught. Five years became a living nightmare on the Quirk society, whether to trust Heroes or not. To let them still roam around even if they just failed.

But to skip the rest to the end, the Quirk society has been saved once again. The Heroes had worked together once again and stopped All For One's villain empire as they get help from the Number One Pro, All Might. With his final efforts, along with the help of the Heroes, young and old, All Might vanquished the monstrous villain for good with all his power.

In the end, All Might lose his Quirk in the process, rendering him Quirkless after the war against his archnemesis' empire. Despite losing it, he is still grateful that the world can live in peace again because of the future Pro Hero students from Japan, and across the world, to live up to his legacy. However, he won't stop as he will try to find someone else who could replace him."

And another is something far worse than All For One. Nomus.

Three months after the defeat of All For One, there were sightings on mysterious threats and attacks that were all lead to the only one thing: Nomus. Despite a few Nomus that the Heroes captured to revert them back to their original state, there are more that started to walk on the land of the newly-restored world.

It all started from a report about a delivery shipment heading to the docks until they encountered a Nomu with an increased Leaping and Claw Quirk. Aside from Nomus, there was a report about a bank heist and it all started from a Villain with a powerful speeding Quirk. Those villains are called Omega-Villains because they are still at large.

This act has now caught the attention of several civilians in Japan, followed by the Pro Heroes of that country, and finally the world itself. Several Pro Heroes from the world battled against the mysterious Nomus over and over for one year, but they were left defeated again, injured, or likely to be dead.

However, the issue at hand has also caught the attention of the governments across every nation. In order for them to stop this threat and prevent future and current Pro Heroes from getting killed, they decided to turn their military academies that are similar to the Hero Schools, an example as the prestigious school called UA High. Their goal is to make sure that they teach those future Pro Heroes who wanted to become future Pro Hero Agents to hunt down and to put an end to the new evil.

To put it simply, they are training every future Pro Hero of the current generation, how to hunt down the monsters that can't be caught.

-BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEE-

The sound of an alarm clock set in a phone was set off, as it still kept on making the same sound in an apartment room. The apartment room, on the other hand, isn't the usual crappy nor expensive type, but the ones that look like in New York City. The room is filled with less junk, meaning that the one living here isn't much of a stuffy person, except for the fact that his shelf is filled with hero content and some books on comics and literature. Must be a bookworm kind.

A young boy is still asleep as his phone alarm was set, which made him bothered a little, but that was his fault for putting an alarm on his phone in the first place, who is sleeping in a freefall position which made him feel comfortable on. The features of the boy are that he has slightly less shaggy green hair, and freckles that are in a form of a diamond on his face. And he is also around his twenties.

The boy groaned tiredly as he slowly reached, and tried, to hit the alarm button on his phone several times but successfully did so when his palm hit it instead. He rose up from his bed and stretched his arms to start his day. I mean, who doesn't start their day by stretching, right?

Anyway, the boy made a long yawn, meaning that he must have slept late, which isn't a healthy sign for a boy in his age to do. He can tell from the light redirecting to the curtain that it's already seven in the morning. Hell, he can even hear some birds chirping outside and some cars driving by.

Guess he needs to start his day, too.

"I wonder what time is it…" the boy said, in a late teens age since he is one like himself. As he grabbed his phone to check what time is it, he realized that his energy and stamina had shaken him from his tiredness.

It was already 7:15 in the morning. But what's wrong with that? Surely, wherever school he is studying at won't be that of a problem at –

"Oh no, I'm late!" he worriedly said. "Class starts in about thirty minutes!" he jumped out from his bed and dashed his way to the bathroom to ready himself for school before he gets late. While trying to get himself ready, his phone popped out a message, but the sound of the notification ring was cut from his part to get ready for school. Or class for college talk.

"That guy wearing a college university uniform who just left his apartment room and with green hair is actually… me."

"My name is Izuku Midoriya. I'm actually a twenty-year-old guy who's now in his third year of college, who is also studying to get his degree on being a military pilot in a military academy. The academy that I'm studying at is called Kentotate Military Academy, or KMA for short. An elite military academy that also a college university that teaches both anyone willing to by a part of the military, or to be a Pro Hero Agent in the near future to fight off against Omega-leveled Villains and Nomus."

"My dream is to become a Hero, like every Pro Hero that existed and grew up with, and All Might was my idol. Unfortunately, a little discovery that I learned from a professional, states that I can't, cause I'm actually born Quirkless."

"It all started when I took a trip to a Quirk doctor with my mom. As I was so excited to receive my first Quirk to be like my childhood friend and the rest of the kids with Quirks, I was actually shocked and traumatized to realize that I was branded Quirkless. The doctor says that it's caused by an extra toe joint on my foot, which caused me to be what I am now."

"My dreams of becoming a hero like All Might were shattered to many pieces that can't even be picked up. And if ever, if I picked up those pieces many times if I picked them up, it still starts to shatter and shatter, over and over again. As my life growing up being Quirkless, I was bullied by my friend, Katsuki Bakugo, as he tells me many times that I will always be a Defenseless Izuku for life, but he calls it Deku for short, which is also a name he always calls me. And followed by everyone else. And it still hurts when I remember it."

"One time, when I was in middle school, a sludge monster attacked me and I thought I was done for, but All Might came to the rescue and stopped the Villain right in my very eyes. Although, as I hitch a ride with him before reporting the monster to the police, I asked him if I can be a Hero without a Quirk. And his answer was no."

"Because of that, I continued to live my life as a Quirkless individual, I accept reality as I decided to change my own path, by becoming a pilot in the military. Despite my dreams of becoming a Hero, I won't give it up that quickly I'll be making a difference."

"Long story short, my dad's best friend and my godfather, Yukan Furato, is one of the best military pilots stationed in America after studying in KMA, and I couldn't even think of anything else but he was the best godfather that anyone could ask for. He is the one that made me what I want to be now. That was… until he disappeared and was confirmed dead…"

"Now, I'm already in my third year in the military, and I'm this close to achieving my dream to be the first Hero who is a military pilot, and to fill in the shoes of the man who inspired me. I just wish that anyone out there can see what I have –"

The loud sound of the train brakes screeching made the sleeping green-haired boy awake from his short slumber. Guess sleeping late back at his apartment room wasn't enough yet. As he noticed the subway station, it made him feel like he is already at his stop.

"We have reached our destination: KMA Base. I repeat, we have reached our destination: KMA Base." The train conductor announced, through a PA system.

Kentotate Military Academy, is one of the elite military academies that act as both a normal college university and a hero program for the future of every Pro Hero agent. In the KMA, they teach the students the basic knowledge of heroics for them to know in order to fight off against the evils of every dangerous Omega Villains and Nomu attack that will happen either in Japan, or the globe. In fact, like all of the military academies, KMA is known for taking out Nomus ever since the day started.

The architecture of the academy is like most military academies, except it's shaped to be a beacon of hope, in honor to All Might's last and final fight against All For One.

The base itself the command base which acts as the main school grounds, and it's larger like an actual baseball field, along with a connected main hangar as the entrance. They even have three hangars for their perspective vehicles: air and land vehicles. Boats are for the marines.

And lastly, the gates are actually made out of three layers of metal, and its architecture is similar to a fortress wall with anti-Nomu cannons on each fortress. Inside the base has also two towers, but it's for the snipers for better aim and accuracy. There is other stuff that is placed in the base, but it's basically army-related.

"Welcome to the KMA entry base. Please wait for the yellow gate to open as you exit from the transport buses." The PA system of the speakers outside was addressed. The yellow gate has opened and everyone boarded from the bus all began to leave and head to their perspective places to get ready for class.

"The old KMA base. It still hasn't changed a bit ever since we got in here." Izuku said as he is happy to see that the academy that he is studying at is as normal as it is.

"Yep. And by just looking at it, you are still lucky to get into a school like this." A man with blonde hair said, which startled Izuku a bit. The blond man was slim and had blue pupils. "Sorry about that, young man. I actually tend to students in case if they're lost, despite if they're been here to this school."

"O-Oh, not at all, sir. I was just viewing the base, t-that's all." Izuku's timidness showed as he isn't fond of other people, "I'm actually glad that I'll be finishing college in the next two years here."

He chuckled lightly. "That's actually nice to hear, young man. If I may ask, what is your career when you're studying here?"

"Piloting. I'm aiming to be a military pilot."

"Wow, such an interesting career path for you, young man. You must have been an airplane enthusiast or someone who's eager to fly in the sky, huh?" the blond man said in such kind words of encouragement, which made Izuku smile.

"If you don't mind me asking, are you a teacher here?" Izuku asked. "You don't seem familiar when I started to enroll here back then."

"O-Oh, uh… about that, young man." The blond man started, hoping to give an answer that quick. "You see, I am a –"

"Attention, KMA students. Ten minutes left before your classes start. I repeat, ten minutes left before your classes start." The PA system once again spoke about a piece of important information.

Maybe he wasn't that quick

"Well, I guess that's your que to get marching." The blond man joked on the last part. "Anyway, I'll leave you by now so that you can get to class in time. It's nice knowing you… uh…"

"Izuku. Izuku Midoriya, sir."

"Well, Izuku. It was nice talking to you in a short way. Take care now." The blond man waved as he left off.

Izuku smiled back and waved back at the blond man, as the two parted ways to their perspective courses by heading inside the command base. As he is inside, Izuku starts taking the stairs, since the elevator was crowded with other students, and a long line was formed.

Elsewhere, somewhere far away from the command base itself, a masked and armored KMA Trooper is seen walking far from its unit inside the main hangar. Once he is far from his unit, he started walking around the crates that were stacked like cabinets.

They were labeled "Emergency Medications, Ammunitions, Back-Up Rations". Very interesting stuff for the military to have in case of emergencies.

The 'Trooper' grabbed a pocketful of detonators as he placed one each on every crate that was scattered, and luckily, he wasn't caught. As he finished, he realized that he has about two more left.

Wanting to finish the rest, he walked his way to the control room of the entry base. As he got inside, he noticed that there are two staff employees working at the main controls of the base. He couldn't get caught so he knocked on the door and go inside.

"Uh, we didn't call for security. This room is heavily secured anyway." One staff employee stated.

"Yeah, but I was called here for something else." The 'Trooper' said as he drew out his gun and shot two tranquilizing darts at each of them. The 'Trooper' didn't waste any time as he grabbed the more devices and placed them onto the control panels as it started to short-circuit them.

And with that, the 'Trooper' left the room unsuspiciously and without getting caught.

Izuku was already close to the third floor of the school grounds. It almost tired him to be exhausted after climbing a flight of stairs, but he also wished that the school had also another elevator for this floor. But as he now any better, there were a bunch of other students who wished the same thing, and became a complaint.

"Phew, finally… I made it." Izuku mentally said as he reached the third floor. His face shifted to an exhausted look once more as he sees the entire hallway longer. "Great, not only that the hallway's long, but I'll be late for five minutes."

Having no other choice, the green-haired boy began to run instead in the hallways. If he remembered right, his classroom was Room 3-12, which is near to the exit which leads to the common rooms, and the library at his right. He was lucky, but his legs won't be at any time.

As the green-haired boy finally reached his designated classroom, he already made as he reached for the door and opened it. There, he realized that the teacher and students, who are all seated, stared at him when he appeared.

And that was when the bell rang just in time. Izuku was confused. Was he late? Or just…

"Mr. Midoriya, as always, you arrived at my class before the bell set off after two seconds. It's a good thing you're not late, we were just about to start." The middle-aged teacher said kindly. "Please, go take your seat so we can get started."

"Hai, sensei," Izuku responded as he walked to his seat, and sat at the left side of the second row in the classroom. Good thing he wasn't late, or he will be hearing everyone how he is late.

"Okay, class. So, today, we will be discussing the event of the first Villain that started the event, which is the Quirk Anarchy." The teacher started the lesson, and there were a few groans that were let out.

"I know that someone of you's sad to the fact that this lesson will be longer than the rest we tackled before, but that's how college works." He stated, and they were facts. "But rest assured that we will be able to finish it in no time for this whole month. Now grab your textbooks and turn to page –"

Suddenly, a large explosion was heard outside and far from the classroom, interrupting the class. The teacher was shocked at what he had heard, which was followed everyone else to join in to see what happened. The entry base from afar was creating a large smoke, which could have led to the explosion itself. A second explosion was heard again, and it terrified the students inside.

"What's going on out there?"

"Who's doing this? Why would anyone do this?"

"Could it be someone attacking? I thought the school had higher security?"

Somehow, the classroom door opened, revealing to be no other than the KMA Troopers. All of them were armed and wearing their armors, as they all prepare to evacuate everyone from every room to get out safely.

"Room 3-12, this is an emergency evacuation! I repeat this is an emergency evacuation! Come with us, so we can escort all of you to safety immediately!" One KMA Trooper said, and everyone inside the room followed him.

As of now, everyone from the third floor is now at the hangar base. There, are also some students from the school grounds that are being transported from the buses to get them far from the military base. However, there are more that are waiting their turn, and Room 3-12 is included.

"Please remain calm everyone!" the KMA Commander Trooper reassured. "More transport buses will be arriving to drive you off away from the Atom base. We have everything under control, please do not panic!"

Everyone wasn't feeling calm. They were scared that a Villain will be attacking the Atom base. The students in the hangar base were all scared since all of them are entirely Quirkless and can't do anything to stop it. But there are some who are worried about when will there be a Pro Hero to deal with the situation, and one of them is Izuku.

The KMA Commander noticed another transport bus arriving. He quickly called out the next class in line. "Next class, get ready as the transport bus arrives! No pushing and no running – Keep a single file line!" he instructed.

While the next line of students are waiting for their bus to arrive, a grenade is seen rolling and tumbling around the ground. Usually, grenades set off for about five seconds, but whoever tossed used too much force.

Somehow, as the bus was about to reach the checkpoint, the grenade somehow slipped under it, and created a chain reaction of a loud and terrifying –

BOOM!

The bus exploded. The students waiting were now scared, as fear is running on their blood right now, knowing nothing on how to deal with a situation like this. Everyone turned their heads when stary bullets took out three KMA Soldiers from the fog.

Everyone knew exactly what means. The bombing, the grenade exploding the bus, and the stray bullets who took out the KMA Soldiers. However, their answers were revealed when they came out from the fog.

Terrorists. Five, heavily armed, lethal terrorists.

As one terrorist shoots off a warning shot, everyone started to panic and run for their lives since they don't want to get killed. Izuku ran as fast as he can to not get separated from the class, or he'll be dead for sure.

"Follow us quick! We'll guide you outside!" one KMA Trooper insisted, as he looked at the remaining soldiers. "Go stop those terrorists now!"

"Yes, sir!" they all said, bravely and eagerly as they all head out to cease the issue.

Meanwhile, the lead terrorist sees the chaos that they did and noticed the students running as it got his attention. "Take out those soldiers and students, we only need a few of them to test out the Nomu formula that they gave us." The lead terrorist, wielding an assault rifle informed two more, armed with scoped rifles. The scoped terrorists began to fire at each KMA Trooper first, mowing them down with shot after shot.

Once they're down, they prepared to aim at the students. Not even a single Pro Hero or any reinforcements in the Atom base isn't arriving, and the terrorists have their free will to take them out to leave a few more to die.

Suddenly, Izuku tripped on a piece from the bus explosion, as he landed hard on the ground. He started to wince at his aching knee, however before he could leave, he was suddenly surrounded by the terrorists.

Izuku was now terrified. He doesn't have an opening to get out.

"What should we do with him?" one asked.

"Kill him. We can't let anyone let know." The other threateningly states as he cocked his gun to finish the boy's life.

Suddenly, a KMA Officer, armed with a standard-issue weapon, rushed to the impending danger as two shots from the gun were heard. Each bullet went straight at two terrorists, right on the chest that killed them in an instant. Izuku realized that he was saved, thanks to that teacher.

"Are you alright, kid?" The officer asked, reloading two more bullets. "What happened to you?"

"I-I got separated by accident," Izuku replied. "I tripped but I can make it out of here."

"It's too risky." The officer said in a disappointed tone. "They're down only to three, but they can shoot anyone who's still far from their distance anytime. Believe me, they did the same thing with the other soldiers when they first attacked. You need to stay here, and I'll come back to get you out. Understood?"

Izuku nodded, as he starts to find a hiding spot, while the teacher walks his way to stop their uninvited guests. Once Izuku found a hiding spot, he peeked his head to watch the teacher, worried that he might get killed. The officer made it near to the terrorists' position and fired two shots to signal them.

The terrorists began to aim as they were ready to take him out, but the lead terrorist signaled them to hold their fire. "You seem lost there, Hero! We could've killed you quickly as possible, you know!"

"I came here to stop you, and your team." The officer called out. "You have no other choice to either put down your guns or suffer the consequences."

The lead terrorist snorted. "As if I'll listen to a soldier, like you! And it's not by ranks! You better stop what you're doing, or we'll kill you right. Now." He grabbed pull out his pistol.

"Go ahead. You people don't scare me." The officer said. "I dealt with you people before, and I got a new trick you might like."

The officer grabbed a smoke grenade from his pocket to their surprise. As he pulled the pin and immediately threw it to the ground, the enemies were now surrounded by a large, thick cloud of gas that emitted from the canister. With that, the teacher was also surrounded by gas.

The terrorists are now both fueled with fear and the eagerness to pull the trigger, in hopes to get a lucky shot on the officer. Unfortunately, their hopes in surviving in the gas cloud were cut short when they disappeared.

The lead terrorist was too nervous that he might be killed out easily, but his finger was on the trigger so he can take him out quickly. However, some bones were heard cracked, and the lead terrorist stood his ground and aimed his weapon. Once the gas was cleared, he only saw two of his own men, knocked out and unconscious after their bones were broken.

The teacher was nowhere to be found. Strange…

BANG!

"Gah!" the lead terrorist was hit by a bullet that went straight to his back. He fell to the ground in pain as he watched the teacher, appearing out of nowhere, aiming at him.

"I know you wouldn't be so good in finding me. The smoke grenade was just a distraction to get you to confused on where am I." The officer spoke. "Talk while you still can. What are you planning when you attacked the base?"

"To… get… information on the Atom's… schematics." The lead terrorist coughed up some blood. "And to test someone here… with a Nomu formula."

"Looks like you tried to execute that part." The officer bluntly said. "Tell me more about this Nomu formula you're mentioned."

"I'd love to, but… you won't be able to know it for a short time." He grinned as he grabbed a syringe and injected himself.

The officer watched the lead terrorist start to transform as his teeth became sharp, his skin looked about to rot, and his body changed grotesquely and painfully as he started to scream in pain when takes on the transformation. Once the transformation is complete, the teacher watched in horror at what he saw.

"Oh, my… God…"

The lead terrorist became nothing but a mutated Nomu, where the half part of his brain can be seen, and his appearance looked like it came from a zombie movie, mixed with a beast's body. His arms are now covered with his skeleton, which is now turned into shrapnel, and eyes green that looked deviously.

Izuku watched the whole thing, and he was far from scared. He watched with fear in his eyes, since he can't do anything but watch. He feared that he might be chased down and be killed for good.

The mutated Nomu blocked the shots from the officer, until it swatted the teacher like a bug, sending him to a set of crates, as he groaned in pain. The teacher was now in a tight situation, as the Nomu began to run after him with his shrapnel claw hands up in the air.

That was, until, he was saved by pair of running feet that led him to get pushed away to safety. It was no other than Izuku himself, who acted out and made the first move, while the Nomu crashed to the crates.

"Are you alright?" Izuku asked.

"Kid, I don't why would you do that, but at least we're not killed by that thing!" The teacher pointed at the mutated Nomu as it started to scream in anger. The Nomu then swayed its hand as it launched a set of spiked projectiles from its mutated skeleton.

"Get down!" the two ducked as the spike projectiles hurled at them, but missed just in time. "Listen, we don't have much time. I'm going to have to distract it so you can get out of here!" he reloaded his gun. "GO!"

Izuku listened and ran away as possible as he can. As the mutated Nomu saw the officer, he began to keep shooting him with his pistol. All seventeen bullets from his gun fired at the Nomu in hopes it'll take him out, despite the Nomu's increased speed.

The Nomu screamed its monstrous voice, and as it gets closer to the officer, he slashed the man right on the abdomen and fell to the ground. The officer was wincing in pain as his dying life was focused on the Nomu. With that, his eyes were met with shrapnel stabbing his body, ending his life quickly.

The Nomu was now growling, knowing nothing on what to do, except for the bomb it noticed a hexagonal-shaped device that was revealed inside a sling bag. As the mutated Nomu grabbed, it began to set the timer.

Only to be cut short by the sounds of revving wheels and a forklift coming at him fast. The mutated Nomu didn't have time to do anything about it since it was already caught by it. The forklift blade was almost near to the Nomu's eyes as it grabbed onto it, but was losing its grip.

Izuku came out of the scene and watched in confusion that the Nomu didn't get killed. "What?! I thought that would work!" he mentally said in a disappointed tone. In reality, he was supposed to leave right now and get out to safety. From his position, he spotted the device on the ground, which let out a few sparks.

"Huh? What's this?" Izuku grabbed it. Probably the worse idea in many cases. Why?

3… 2… 1 – BEEPBEEPBEEP –

Izuku's eyes widened, but his escape was already too late. Once the device exploded, it knocked out the boy and was tossed elsewhere.

Cliffhanger! This story was left with an interesting cliffhanger with some interesting questions that all of you might be wondering. Also, what do you think about the first start of it? Also, before I end, I want to clear out some things first to let all of you be informed.

First, I might be posting new chapters next week or later than that. I got to school and modules that I'm busy with, and I really wanted to post back some stories once again. But since I'm in twelfth grade and I'm at the end of my high school days, I might be gone because of that. So expect some updates when I'm ready to update them, or if I'm done with school in the next six months.

Second, this is just the first start of my story, and I'm planning to make all my stories 1K-5K words each, by excluding the A/Ns since its part of the chapters. I actually trying to make the readers feel comfortable by reading in the preferred (or they're preferred) word length, so yeah, 1K-5K words lengths and that's something I will try.

So, that's all that I have to say here. So, I'll be seeing you in the next chapter, and while waiting for an update, feel free to read some my other stories. Goodbye, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
