"Jane?"

"Yeah Maura?"

She looks away. She waits.

"Jane?"

"Yeah, Maura?"

She starts to speak, to only again, look away. She waits.

"Jane?"

"Yes Maura?"

She smiles, and she smiles back. Patient, and in wait.

"It's getting hotter out there, isn't it?"

"You would know, you being the scientist and all," she grins.

She moves into her embrace. Feeling soft against her rock.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah, Maura, I am," she kisses the top of her head. Arms wrapped around her own pillar of strength and support.

"I mean –"

"I am okay Maura," she holds her hands in hers, "With us seeing the therapist beginning Monday. We have issues to work on, we have matters to discuss, and we need a professional for the both of us that's not either of us," she raises her hands to her lips. "We'll be okay."

"I promise," she brings her hand to rest against her chest. There are difficult conversations ahead, she thinks but does not say.

"We'll do this healthily, we'll do this maturely, I promise." She holds her steady; she holds herself at the ready.

Hmm, Monday. The beginning to weeks and months ahead. "I love you Jane," she wraps her arms closer around her own being; she rests her head against her reason for living. It can't be the only way.

"I love you too Maura," she nods, lost too to thoughts unsaid. "We'll be okay," she speaks an assurance for her sake.
