Time is Love
Chapter 1
Ed and Oswald were lying in their bed; their clothing lay on the floor from the night before. Ed opened his eyes. He looked at his new husband, who was still asleep. Oswald had been released the day prior, and after escaping, they decided they would get married. It had been 10 years since they last saw each other. Oswald opened his eyes.
"Good morning, my dove," said Oswald.
"Morning, my little bird," said Ed.
"So how was I for my first time?" As well they asked.
"You did wonderful," said Ed, "We should probably get dressed."
"Agreed," said Oswald as they both got out of bed and put on fresh clothes.
" Ed, would you mind helping me with my tie and Monocle?" said Oswald.
"Yes," said Ed, as he helped Oswald put on his tie and then his monocle.
"Wow, you really did a number on my neck," said Ed, referring to the marks on it.
"No, I wanted this, Ed. You did just fine," said Oswald trying to face him, "That was definitely worth the wait."
"So,um, I think before we do anything about Gordon, we are going to have to do something about Batman. Who does he think he is to take my city from me?" said Oswald as he filled up a glass of whisky.
"Really? This early in the morning?" said Ed as he stared at Oswald's drink.
"What? Are you going to punish me for it?" said Oswald, smiling at Ed.
"I just might," said Ed.
"Okay, but let's save it for tonight, my dove."
At that moment, they heard a knock on the door; Ed answered it. Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock were standing there.
"So Harvey, they finally let you out of your pen I see," said Ed.
"I could say the same to you, Nygma," said Harvey.
"What can we do for you guys?" asked Ed.
"I'm here to tell you guys about this guy called The Clock King. For some reason, he's after our mayor," said Jim.
"Oh, what a shame he hasn't gotten him yet," said Ed.
"All right, Nygma," said Harvey, grabbing hold of Ed.
"Oh come on we all know he does a terrible job," said Ed.
"Let go of my husband," said Oswald pointing a gun at Harvey.
"Husband?" Said Jim, stunned.
"Yes, we got married last night," Oswald said.
"You're not married," said Jim.
"Oh, but we are detective," handing Jim a piece of paper, "I have our marriage certificate."
"Let's move this to the living room," said Oswald.
Jim and Harvey followed them to the living room. Ed and Oswald sat next to each other across from them. To Harvey's discussed, they started kissing right in front of them.
All right, that's enough," said Jim clapping his hands together, "We are going to need Ed to come to the GCPD with us, but you're going to have to stay here."
"No! What makes you think I'm going to let you walk out of here with my Dove?" said Oswald, taking out his gun.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Penguin," said Harvey, aiming his gun at Ed, "Unless you want Ed's brains blown out- and don't think I won't do it."
"Listen, we just need Nygma to help us. If you cooperate, no harm will come to him at all. I will even let you talk to him on FaceTime," said Jim.
"Oswald, listen, I'll be okay," said Ed.
"Let me have a moment alone with my husband," said Ed.
Harvey took the gun off him. Ed walked over to Oswald.
"You don't have to do this," said Oswald.
"I'm doing it because I want to if I don't the riddle will go unsolved," Ed said.
Oswald took off a silver locket and put it on Ed's neck, "To think of me while you're gone."
"Oh, brother," said Harvey, grabbing Ed, "Come on, Jack, let go of Rose and let's go."
"Wait, I'm coming too," said Oswald.
Later he and Ed were in the backseat while Harvey and Jim were up front. They began kissing in the back seat. Harvey was disgusted.
"Gross," said Harvey.
"Will you two knock it off?" said Jim.
"Going to make us, Jimbo?" said Ed, smiling.
"No, I'm not," said Jim, "It's just annoying to watch you guys. I miss the old days when we could just put Penguin in the trunk."
"I don't think he would fit now," said Harvey.
" I heard that, Bullock," said Oswald.
"You know I don't understand why Penguin needs to be here," said Harvey.
"Because Ed needs emotional support and you guys are unlikely to give that to him," said Oswald.
"Well, if you want support, join a support group," said Harvey, as they arrived at the precinct.
Ed and Oswald were holding hands to annoy Jim. They noticed how everyone was staring at them.
"Wow! Suddenly we're the talk of the town," said Oswald, "my dove."
"Indeed we are," said Ed.
"So it finally happened," said Barbara, walking in with her daughter.
"Yes it did," said Ed, "We are actually married."
"Well, congratulations. Jim, I need to talk you about something."
"What?"
" Barbara Lee got into a fight at school. I told you she needs trauma counseling."
"Okay, I'll look into it. I'll ask Lee if she knows any good ones," said Jim.
"Why? What happened to your daughter?" asked Oswald.
"It's none of your business," said Jim.
"I'm just being considerate, Jim."
"You have no right to," said Jim, "After trying to shoot me last night.
"Hey, don't talk to my husband like that," said Ed.
Without warning, Jim backhanded Ed.
"Stop it! Do you really want Barbara Lee seeing this?" said Barbara.
Ed rubbed his face.
"Are you all right, my dove?" said Oswald.
"I'm fine," said Ed.
"Yes, I'm fine," said Ed.
"All right, you two come into my office," said Jim.
Ed and Oswald followed him into his office.
"Now sit down."
Ed and Oswald did as he said.
"First of all, I'm sorry I hit you," said Jim.
"That's okay, it's not the worst you've done to me," said Ed.
Jim ignored him, "Oswald, I wanted to ask if we can borrow Ed until this case is done."
"What am I, a cup of sugar?" said Ed.
"Why don't you get your new friend Batman to help you?" said Oswald.
"There's some stuff he can't do. Look, you two stay here," said Jim, leaving his office and locking the door.
"Hey, let's make out on his desk," said Ed.
Ed and Oswald hopped up on Jim's desk.
The door opened…
"Oh come on! Not my desk!" said Jim.
"What? You weren't using it," said Ed.
"Get down from there before I have you both arrested for public indecency!" said Jim.
Ed and Oswald obliged.
"Well, it's been fun, but Ed and I would like to go home," Oswald said.
"Yes, you can go, but Ed stays," said Jim, yanking Ed away from Oswald.
