Fates pov

Had anyone told me I'd be seeking him out, I'd hoist them by their toes until the joints burst. Jasper had long since been an afterthought. Our love had been vile, the love you pray you never experience.

I was unbelievably cruel to him. He was thirsty once. Like me, but those desires died in him. He began to loathe our existence, question if we should even walk the earth. So when I devised my plan, he was written out of it.

I controlled one of the largest kingdoms on this side of the hemisphere. Newborn armies were a thing of the past. To truly dominate you must rival the Volturi otherwise you risk extermination.

That was until I was usurped from my throne. A seemingly demure vampiress bequeathed a tale of a dead mate, desiring a more simple life. I believed her. Now I am left with nothing, she weaved her way onto my throne. So now? I seek asylum. I've decided to try my luck with my ex-lover. Jasper Whitlock.

I hadn't seen him since that night. The night I slew Maria. As I ran, I couldn't help but ponder whether if she had seen it coming. Her death by my hand. I now stand deeply hidden in the trees. Jasper seems to be training his coven how to kill my best soldiers. They were rusty. It looks they would require as much help as they can get.

In the air, I could smell the scent of shifters. Interesting. That would be something that would trip the newborns up. Most vampires don't interact with other creatures in our world. Were on the top of the food chain. You wouldn't run against a goddess if you were a mere mortal. I waited until they had completely left before revealing myself.

"It's me! I don't mean to cause any harm. I seek asylum in your region." Those eyes bore into my soul. It took him all but a second to recognize who I was.

"It can't be. I watched you burn. "

"Who is the leader here?"

"I am. Who are you?" The entire coven was on the defense. Jasper stood dumbly in shock.

"I'm here to offer my assistance. We have a similar problem with a vampire. Victoria. I can offer my protection to your human and promise you her head."

"What would make me believe that we could use your help?"

"I'm a mystic. A witch. The change didn't take my powers, in fact, it heightened them. My sire can attest to my strength." Jasper had yet to remove his gaze from my face. He watched me suspiciously.

"She's incredibly talented. However, I suggest regardless of that you send her away. Nothing good can come from having her around."

"Show us a demonstration."

An auburn-haired member of the coven demanded that I show them my gifts. Despite not being able to see them I knew that my pupils grew until my eyes mostly looked black. Dark veins spread across my face, spreading out from my eyes reaching to my temples. An aura extends past my body the darkness consuming the light.

I was manipulating matter right before their eyes. A small planet formed. I was using the elements in the air to create a small-scale replica of our solar system. As soon as I was sure I had all of their attention, the planets exploded.

"That's something more of a parlor trick. I can manipulate energy and matter bending them to my own will. What do you say?"

"You may stay in our territory."

Jasper's emotions couldn't be contained. They were written across his face. I didn't stay too long in his presence. I escaped to the home I had been occupying just outside of a nearby town.

Everything inside had been what I could take with me when I escaped. Victoria managed to turn my court against me. I was granted the ability to leave, no one dared challenge me alone. No, it took my entire inner circle to intimidate me into running. I could have stood my ground, but at what expense? I'd have been branded a traitor had I spilled blood of my kind in my region. So I packed my bags. Now I must plan. Plan to take back what's mine!
