A/N: This story is a direct sequel to the 'Green Arrow: The Punisher' story.
Sorry that I haven't been posting any chapters for a long time. I was changing some things on some of the first chapters.
Universe: Earth-X
Earth
Gotham City
Below the red-coloured skies, representing the horror of this world transformed because of war from many years ago. Following the battle between the Nazis and the Freedom Fighters, it ensued on peace finally restored in this broken world. No matter the years that went forth, Earth was far from reaching full restoration. There may be less number of Nazi concentration camps, but remains of the New Reich are there. Defenders of Earth-X had laboured on scouting the remains, despite those efforts, they couldn't easily find some that are skilled to hide in the darkness. Darkness is an ally to one who deems it advantageous, especially in consideration of accounting in silently watching the battles go ahead. Gotham City is the perfect example of providing so much darkness that convinced majority of the members of the Freedom Fighters to choose to move in here some point in the near future, to incarcerate or kill any that wears the symbol.
"3 years since the Regime fell, and everyone else had either been condemned or killed. A poor result for you Der Fuhrer Oliver. General Kara. Because of your deaths, the revolution had been succeeded, thanks to the other world's forces combined with the forces of the Freedom Fighters. The revolution would have failed if it weren't for you, Oliver, you being so weak that you got yourself killed, too blinded by your love for the kryptonian female. But on fair hands, I am not one to judge you", a shadowy woman recalling the events of the crisis Earth-X had enacted on the referred world. "None of that matters. Considering the fall of that oppressive government is gradually progressing, and the Freedom Fighters slowly restoring their peace into this bitter, horrific planet, I'd say now would be a chance to send in the big guns to Earth-X, then the other world".
Shortly later, behind the woman who is casually sitting, a woman entered in the area from using the entrance, she reaches up to the unknown woman's head. Her face is shadowed, as well as her entire body. But her body's shape shows she is very fit. Her eyes glow red. Under the darkness, her lips grind in a tasteless, unpleasant smirk while ending up at the shadowy woman's stop. "Why become so disappointed when you already know your made them believe we're dead?". She moves her arms up on her chest, crossing them together.
The woman turns to face the other woman. "I view these worlds in utter disgust. Civilisation, the inclusion of billions of souls that selfishly care for themselves, and multiple established organisations, majority of them to give negative distributions. The constant loop disturbs me. They must crumble. I cannot live in peace harmony until the plans are succeeded. A miscalculation from using the reboot of the Multiverse has allowed your New Reich to fall, and now with liberty ending up at the good of the people of your world", she explained. She rolls round to look at a the sky through the window. "They must suffer. As well as the other world".
The this woman's views of what she sees in world filled with peaceful stages of human social and cultural ideals, it was negative. She experienced the negative side of what things Earth normally carries out doing. She once used to see the planet in a positive way. But thanks to an effective event, now her every intention is being certain that every part of what has held in every Earth into brighter aspects become an endless darkness where it destroys a good number of people, enslaving them, and turning the world into a bleak, befouled wasteland. And an accomplishment to completing her master's plans.
Universe: New Earth
Earth
S.T.A.R. Labs, Central City
Being shocked and bolted out of the blue is enough for one person to learn of something that they've never been known of when they should've a long time ago. But when the truth becomes so important to them regarding one person who happened to be close friends with them, the bolt gets bigger. Thunderous energy flows instantly inside them, zapping them. Noting the truth is painful. It wasn't the subject of an important reason, it was family-bonds that would keep everyone stuck together. Those bonds tore apart. This isn't the first time that occurred, regardless of it never being the same people. The truth hurts everyone in S.T.A.R. Labs when Oliver and Kara finally disclosed their secret that even made Barry Allen shocked, especially Iris West-Allen, Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, and some others. There are fewer members of Team Flash, he Legends, and also Alex was included.
"...and that's what convinced us to realise we can't keep doing this all alone. It was dangerous, and stupid of us to do it", Oliver said, finishing the story he divulges to everyone about how everything occurred from the start when the Spectre somewhat rebooted the Multiverse, then the worlds of Earth-1 and Earth-38 merged, then Kara and Oliver decide to lay low their life together in the dark.
After Oliver ended his perspective of the whole history on the secret he and Kara held on to, everything went back to being quiet. Not an answer or talk-back presented. Everyone started absorbing what Oliver told them. It pained them, and their hearts.
Barry Allen couldn't believe Oliver and Kara are together, and yet was never told about it. He didn't understand. Barry is a good man, and he can be trusted, even though Oliver tends to be secretive.
Alex hadn't created any way to mention one word. Not any word can be willingly picked out to burst inside her mouth. Her heart bleeds. It was all starting to make its own meaning. The things she gathered from Lena's lab, as well as other stuff, Alex hadn't known why they appeared that way. Now it all did make sense. She turned her eyes elsewhere, not sure how she can talk to a sister she doesn't or can't even recognise her face. She moves away, sighing in frustration. She can't assume if she's angry or depressed. Her memories were rewritten, set in stage by her own sister, whom she loved as family. They were always connected to each other, closely, despite past times of their relationship being strained.
Kara too hadn't determined herself to ask for Alex's response. Not in the decision of wanting her to ask her. Kara has chanced likely result her relationship with her adoptive sister will be destroyed. However, Kara knows Alex wouldn't do them. She remembered when she was affected by the red kryptonite, especially accorded from this timeline, where Maxwell synthesised a red kryptonite that instantly makes a kryptonian go rogue and be the worst version of herself, she performed terrible actions and went to the length in mocking her sister, coldly, without remorse. Though that time, Kara eventually apologised when she was cured from the red kryptonite exposure.
Cisco, nearly heartbroken, moves out of the room, not exerting himself the effort to question them. Oliver and Kara were respected friends regardless of Oliver and Cisco never actually becoming anywhere near a close friendship like Kara and Cisco's.
Alex blasts out to face Kara, wishing to retrieve answers. "How did you do...?", she asked except to fail uttering the question, still hurt by how she was prevented from seeing the real Kara. Small tears begin slightly sliding out of her eyes. "How did you rewrite all our minds? I damn as hell sure J'onn couldn't have done it even if he was going to get convinced to do it, he wouldn't have that capability". Her voice seemed broken while progressing with talking to Kara.
Kara glanced at her sister, then tilting her head down to think. She reflected it very simple. It wasn't difficult. With the exception laying she couldn't say it. Kara closes her eyes. "I can't", Kara proclaimed. She swore she wouldn't disclose it to anyone. "I made a promise I wouldn't tell it to anyone".
"Promise?", Alex heard Kara mention it. "What promise? With who?". Alex quickly realises Kara trusted someone else about her life kept in the dark, someone who might have been capable of altering the memories. "You trusted someone other than me, didn't you?".
Kara looked away, knowing Alex already found her answer.
Alex widens her eyes, getting the answer originated from Kara's composure. Alex redeveloped her composure. "There were more you trusted, weren't there?", Alex questioned, getting the impression.
"Only one person in the Universe. A subject I didn't share with Oliver or Sara", Kara said, unmoved in looking elsewhere.
Alex rotates to Sara and Oliver, digesting the knowledge she got from the two's movable expression on their head. She afterwards turns to Kara, later on shaking her head. She doesn't have anymore to say. It's likely Kara might have lost Alex trust mentioning on Alex looking down, tears sliding downwards. Despite knowing Kara didn't share the knowledge of how she had someone she trusted to rewrite everyone's memories to Oliver and Sara, Alex couldn't accept to expect herself to forgive her sister after a long time of not ceasing to be in the dark. She does accept Clark and Lois to have been the people that were in on Kara's secret, even Oliver now that she knows Oliver and Kara were actually married and conceived a child that's still in Argo City. But she didn't accept Sara, Wonder Woman, and other people to be on her secret. It wasn't out of jealousy, it was because after all Alex did for Kara, the latter didn't pick her over them.
Kara, without looking away, using her super hearing, senses Alex storming out of the room.
Shortly after Alex's departure, Nate and Ray followed on route, out of the room.
Sara turns to Ava's side, noting her expression shows she is heartbroken.
Ava wonders whether or not it's verifiable their whole relationship was false, and built on a lie. She didn't want to release her pain out in the room. Taking a more fine-drawn approach, she decides to leave. Motioning now, Ava leaves the room.
Behind Ava, Sara endeavours on pacing up to her, hoping to talk to her or the other way will lead to their breakup. Sara remembered she broke up with Ava because beforehand, she was possessed something dangerous that made her become the monster that would've killed Ava when she appeared in the Waverider, though Sara was ultimately restored.
All that remained is Barry, Caitlin, Iris, Oliver and Kara.
Kara and Oliver looked up to eye at Barry, aspiring for him to forgive them.
"Barry?", Oliver called, wishing for an answer from him.
Barry shot a glance up at Oliver, whilst assimilating all the knowledge he was delivered by his two close friends. "Oliver. I am dying to forgive you. I understand it. You and Kara were trying to protect yourselves because psychos like Prometheus, Zoom or Cyborg Superman would often try to target anyone's close relatives or friends. Family happening to be one potential great weakness in us heroes, who have tasked in spending most part of it to save lives. But all this knowledge, the fact that our heads were rewritten by something that your wife can't state, just makes it hard to think if I should trust you? I'm wondering what part of our life was implanted of memories. The feeling as though we've been seeing things wrongly, likely most of it, convinces me that at this point I can't trust you for a while", Barry explained, showing his sad tone the way he speaks to his close friend and ally Oliver.
Oliver looks down, nodding. He acknowledges he hasn't been in the closest spot on gaining Barry's trust. Every action has its own array of consequences. This isn't the first time Oliver had been forced to endure this issue because of one action. It happened before, but in a different action. It did not happen in this timeline, but it happened in one erased timeline. He once became apart of Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins, selected by the Ra's to have Oliver be heir to the demon. Knowing there isn't any paved road to avoid Ra's's constant's selection on Oliver, the latter had no choice but to discreetly work with Malcolm Merlyn, not divulging his secret with Felicity, John and Laurel, which consequently resulted in Oliver's friendship with John to be very strained, as well as somewhat of a poor friendship between himself and Laurel.
Iris sighs, seemingly very disturbed by taking in all of it. She looks up at Oliver and Kara, not in the slightest extent to throw her anger out because it was worthless. "Just... give us some space. Let us take time to process it", Iris breathily requested to Kara and Oliver.
Hearing it, Oliver and Kara understand there's no edge to rise up and beg them for forgiveness. It was never in their book to be beggars. Slowly, Oliver and Kara gave a weak nod to Iris, prior to leaving the room, S.T.A.R. Labs as a whole to leave out from.
Outside of S.T.A.R. Labs...
Oliver and Kara exited the building, walking across the path.
"Do you think it was the right move to make?", Oliver questioned, turning to look at his wife.
Kara rotated to Oliver's side, though not looking to meet up with Oliver's eyes. "Come on", Kara gestures Oliver to resume moving in order to fly out of Central City, avoiding answering Oliver's question for the reason she couldn't be bothered to answer it.
After seconds moving away from S.T.A.R. Labs, Kara made Oliver attach himself closely to her, subsequently leaving Central City.
Miles away from Central City...
Coursing along the air, Kara flies farther away from Central City. She had different directions to wrap up and proceed heading towards, apart from that she is distracted by thinking over what happened at S.T.A.R. Labs. She didn't want to discuss it with Oliver regardless of knowing no one can hear their conversation.
"Aren't you at least a tiny bit worried at what they might do?", Oliver questioned on alluding to the people they gathered in S.T.A.R. Labs with Team Flash, looking up at Kara's face. "Everyone hasn't moved on from that explosion that killed some of our friends".
Kara, although listening, is maintaining her eyesight fronted so she wouldn't accidentally cause themselves to crash against something. She remembered one time almost hitting a falling plane, albeit she managed to prevent the plane from crashing down, therefore preventing many people to die. She wanted to keep full awareness of her surroundings.
"Kara?", Oliver calls, wishing to get an answer from his wife.
Kara had no choice to talk back. "It's not like they will go insane. They asked us to provide them space so let's give them space", said Kara. She didn't have to answer back. She knows Oliver is less of a worrying person even though at times he can be when either the city, the world or his friends or family are on the line. Viewing Oliver the way he is, it astonishes Kara though she didn't want to comment or question it as she knows Oliver is frustrated. Most of the group Oliver formerly worked with died, and then it was Tommy. Even she was shocked to learn their deaths happening. Though it should seem normal that people would possibly die from a cause, these people's deaths just didn't seem to be the way many billions would be faced with.
S.T.A.R. Labs, Central City
Everyone left following Oliver and Kara's disclose on their secret, which left only remaining members of Team Flash alone. They're all talking about how they can trust two people that immediately were convinced enough that it had to wait until the deaths of their friends made them realise it.
"I'm sorry, you think we should forgive them after what they did messing with our heads for the last couple of months?", Cisco questioned, really against Barry on how much he is presenting himself to excuse them. "Look around you, Barry. Everyone hasn't forgotten about what happened with Felicity, with John, with Curtis, with Rene, with Dinah. And during that time, even after, we've all felt emotional. Uncharacteristically emotional. And all Oliver Queen has been doing was putting shades on, thinking they weren't worth in his life".
"That's not what Oliver does", Barry claims. "Sure he can be a jerk, stubborn, hard-headed. Deep inside that dashing machine, he has a heart. He was my mentor, he helped me become the Flash. If it weren't for him, I would still be doubtful, not sure what I would do with these powers". Barry whilst talking about his powers was looking down at his hands.
"We are not talking about you. It's about how we can forgive him", Cisco corrected.
"That's my point, Cisco", Barry shot back. "We're different people. We hide stuff we don't talk about because we're afraid of what would happen later". He turns to glance at Caitlin, gesturing hands directly at her. "Like Caitlin, who didn't want to show her Killer Frost powers because she was afraid to tell". Barry then turns back to facing Cisco. "Or like when I screwed up everything after going back in time to save my mom from Reverse Flash, which thereby brought out my monstrous pathological duplicate". He widely broadens his eyesight over Caitlin, Cisco, and Iris, the latter whom stayed quiet when Cisco and Barry were having an argument. "There's no point in being angry at Oliver and Kara. They didn't set off the explosion at Smoak Technologies. Admittedly, I was stung over hearing their secret, but I ultimately let go off my anger because I shouldn't even be bothered. They are not like the enemies we fought before". Barry briefly looked down, reflecting on how he saw the new Oliver Queen, the true Oliver Queen. "Now look at Oliver now". He gestures his hand to the right.
Cisco, Caitlin and Iris, all of which kept their heads down, tilted their heads up to look at Barry.
"It's now distinguished before our eyes: Oliver Queen is in love with someone who has somehow taught Oliver to let go of the darkness even though that same darkness is what Oliver typically uses. He's a changed man. And I'd consider it a big bonus for him, and for us", Barry said.
Everyone in the room noted the massive change in Oliver when they saw his real self, revealing in previous times when they saw of him, he seemed to act like the things everyone negatively viewed him. Opinions changed. Especially Iris had a change in opinion.
For years after learning Oliver is the Green Arrow, Iris always wanted to make sure Barry wouldn't become like him due to this whole other darkness Oliver retains when he alternates himself into his alter-ego. It worried her on how Barry would act out if he resorted to overshadow himself. Now that she knows Oliver is a different person, she has no worry to consider keeping a close eye on Oliver and Barry when they're together.
Team Flash now thought about their trust towards Oliver and Kara, seemingly reflecting situations they experienced in the past.
Outside of the Earth...
Watchtower
Oliver and Kara are inside, setting up on something Oliver doesn't know about because of Kara insisting she doesn't need to divulge information that would intend to express importance. They stood in front of the large window that allows the two to view their planet.
"Is it ready?", Oliver questioned, deducing Kara's composure showing she appears to be set to launch a enormous wave that will ingrain everyone's memories seeing on about the real Kara with her true looks restored.
Kara looks down, knowing that every action has unintended ramifications Kara might not know about in spite of assuming she knows. Like currently, she thinks it's the criminals that will quickly draw attention to her, and the battles she'll accept to fatefully deal with. She already has faced consequences: losing her friends' trust. She also knows that she will have to stop hiding in the shadows and return as National City's protector, and a member of the Justice League. When she was tilting her head downwards, she is actually looking at the source that brightly extinguishes with no regards of the activation process happening yet. She then felt two hands touched on both her shoulders, which dragged Kara to twirl around, subsequently looking on Oliver.
"You know you can get back away from it. No one's forcing you. Not me. Not anyone. Though Alex will give you a kick-in-the-head-ish, it is your choice", said Oliver, wanting to lay in the certainty that Kara is 100% prepared to set everyone's memories restored in the use of something Oliver isn't known of.
"We're way past that conversation, Oliver. Nothing is holding me down", Kara said. Her tone is scarier almost mixed with terror and confidence which slightly scared Oliver though he dusted that feeling off like it was nothing except gas.
Oliver didn't see what Kara is doing, but he did start to witness Kara incantating as she is raising a lightening source with one hand. Waves running outwards from the source while the source begins illuminating increasingly. Oliver can feel these waves phasing past him, though not affecting him. No harm has been done to him.
Another barrage of waves are bursting more and more frequent, and speed rising at a constant rate like millions of small chunks exploded at a repeating cycle that can't be stopped. Another set of multiple waves move out of the source that's still on Kara's hand.
Kara feels her hand vibrating caused by the source continuing to shake and release waves. She didn't seem disturbed. Kara is aware of the the struggle behind the source, albeit Kara has her super strength availing her.
The light got bigger and bigger. A slow motion otherwise seen as the light is getting more brighter. After a few short seconds, it become much more bigger.
Oliver moved his arm, covering his eyes from the brighter light that's violently illuminating over him more. It soon extended its light all over Oliver's body, therefore resulting Oliver becoming unsighted, unable to see what is happening as the light progresses to expand, likely reaching on all over the big private room, which is occupied only by Oliver and Kara, in the Watchtower.
Kara didn't seem too pressured from the light, although carrying her arms closed on her eyes.
The generated waves flew all over the planet, rendering people's memories restored on the things rewritten about Supergirl's existence, particularly what she looked like. Everyone, after receiving the effects from the waves that wrapped them up, started feeling dazed, though it was bound to wear off in a few seconds.
The waves that thunderously spent on unrolling, slowly folds up. It is pulled back inside the source Kara is still holding up. The kryptonian lowers his hand, registering the effects of this source was exerted all over the world, knowing she didn't need to hold it for too long.
Oliver couldn't discern the changes. He only saw brightness and sensed the stroke of waves. He moves to Kara's side, wishing to ask her about the changes. "Did it work?", he questioned.
The room around him and Kara remains the same. No effects of the blast applying changes to anywhere near her.
Oliver noticed there are no changes, though at this point acknowledged none of those occurrences happened.
Kara whirled around, facing Oliver, who is very close to her. "It worked", Kara answered, self-assured of now unexpected mind-breaks in people. The Watchtower would've alerted them but it was unfortunately incapable of alarming any occupier of this station.
"The Watchtower hasn't rung a bell since you turned on your partying lights. Assuming there is no trouble, I believe you", Oliver said, subsequently placing his fisted hands on his hips. Now that the process involving restoration in human's memories regarding on the existence of the real Kara is done, Oliver started thinking what's the next step. "So what now?".
Kara looked back at the glass, particularly viewing via his super-powered vision, seeing Queen Mansion. She perceives Moira in the mansion through her x-ray vision. "I'd reckon some point telling your mom about our big secret wouldn't hurt at all, would it?", said Kara, making Oliver realise Kara is likely looking over at whatever is happening inside the Queen Mansion.
Oliver begins to think about how he'd speak with Moira about their secret. Explaining to Moira about his other life seemed like a Deja vu to him since he underwent a time when he'd explain about something to Moira involving his life with Kara.
Universe: Earth-X
Gotham City
Blue static shocks surging within the shirtless man. His pants are torn. He is surrounded by red-coloured rays shot directly at him. His body is forced to lay strapped on a standing wood. He is fractured. He only hears the cold storms clouding over his ears. His pupils are gone, and his eyes glow red.
Before his frontside are two murky bods. They seem to be calm and retaining comprehension that what they have captured is someone very special, possibly Earth-X's key figure that would've got the chance to finish off the resistance fighters and everyone.
Large immense of static electricity rise at higher levels, electrifying the person. Beforehand, he'd waver as long as the time went forth. He'd try to get out, feeling like his superior brawniness can dismantle whatever he's hooked in. Later, he realised it was all for nothing by discerning the red light that's making him weaker, and progressively more weaker. At this end, he's suffered so much he can barely hold fast to peeking the area around him. He didn't know what was happening to him. All he knew is he is continuously getting tortured. The crashing streaks burst like meteor showers, bouncing in every corner around him while the static intensity grows bigger. His imagery of the world he would rule forever now instantly turned into his own little nightmare ruined by a thousand electric plagues skidding around him.
The two, who spent a considerable amount of time watching this man, observed his strength decreasing. The gauge of this man's central power slowly pumping out of his body. The red ashes dematerialising. The strength surpassing billions of men sliding out of whatever holes had been pierced on his skin. The same holes that will remain as the memorial damages inflicted upon him. If he were to see it himself once gaining consciousness, he would assume it was punishment for him becoming a dictator by being the Emperor.
After the process has finally been completed, one man moved closer, supported by the woman that drew the lovely stars into acrimonious sources coerced to run away. When he first saw him, he was amazed that one last fighting machine survived from the battle 3 years ago. It would've killed him then, but he was too weak to do anything. Even if he did have the strength, the mysterious man would show the Earth-X inhabitant the absolute power he acquired from his home Universe. When he walking towards it, the tracks left behind seemed like fire trails, the flames of terror speeding along the shadowy man's covered passage.
The man who is tightly strapped, not ensured of ever getting out, is still unawake from the sustained damages done hard all over his body. His breathes are successfully coming out like silent moans of the tearful winds exploding on all directions at front, located form his mouth.
"The kryptonian is well measured in time to have survived this long. Reminding me of a close friend I once had...", the man said, his reflection of someone that was as strong, powerful and enduring in extent as him. He then turned around, looking at the lady that knew who he was referring to. "...before perfect things paid its inevitable price. So much like what I am about to do to this Universe".
"What will you do to him?", she questioned, tasting a flavour of death and twisted mixtures of chaos, anarchy, havoc and despair approaching as soon as the man she loves gives her the answer.
"Him?", he started thinking about the kryptonian, reflecting on what he did this far from when he began performing multiple racks he's shoved down on him, fracturing him till he is nothing. He now started comparing whatever he did to him similar to what he did before. "An easy way to say it: the same thing I'd always do to enslave mankind, and expand an army". He turns back to eye at the fractured kryptonian. He knows his strength has greatly been weakened but that was the only way for him to proceed the next phase, compelling him to do his bidding, and become acceptable to merge with other things this mysterious man will wrap up a big pleasure remaking him into something extraordinary. "An army consisted of my monstrous metahumans".
