The Beast Within the Prince: Reprise
Hello everyone about six years ago I created my first every fanfic for the Ever After High fandom called 'The Beast Within the Prince' a mainly Darise with minor Dexven fanfic. And while at the time it was very successful in fact even till this day, I will still get reviews for that story every once in a while. But as the years went by and I began to create other stories I began to not really like my first one. This is not to say that I did not continue to appreciate the support, but I believe that I as a writer can finally do better. So, I will be redoing the story once again (do not worry the old one will stay up) and this time I should be able to include more characters to make a better story. I've decided to keep the story still after Thronecoming but with it also being a few weeks away from Spring Unsung as well as up the characters ages to early twenties, so they now go to school at Ever After University.
Thanks again to anyone who is joining me once more.
I still own nothing but the plot
Female narrator: It was shaping up to be a typically morning at Ever After University and all the students were getting ready for another enchanting new day of classes, spells, drama, and friends.
Male narrator: Yes, all the students are hexcited to start their day, but none more than our story's main Prince who is at the moment getting ready in front of his mirror hoping to look perfectly charming today.
FN: Not that he doesn't every day!
Daring POV
It has been a few weeks since Thronecoming and so far, everything has been business as usually. I'm still the most handsome, charming, perfect, and as my name suggests daring prince in all of Book End. Many things in my life were picture perfect, but the one thing that would make the picture complete is if Cerise Hood would finally agree to go out on a date with me. Ever since the thronecoming game my thoughts have been on nothing else but Cerise Hood. It is as if something in my mind finally clicked, and I was truly seeing how special the hooded maiden was. I felt so foolish for not taking her seriously when she first offered to join the team, luckily for myself and the game Cerise forgave me and helped us win that afternoon. At the dance I spent most of the evening with Cerise and had a truly magical time, and I knew Cerise enjoyed my company as well or she would have tried to leave after our first dance. Right before the night had ended, I mustered up the courage to ask her to go out on a real date with me, I truly wanted to learn more about Cerise and spend time with her. After all Cerise has always been a person who was around and yet I knew very little about her, Cerise was in my mind mysteriously captivating and I wanted the opportunity to learn more. But a las she said 'No' much to my confusion. No maiden has ever told me 'No' (at least not to the first date) and while maybe for most princes this might discourage them, but I'm made entirely different and have not given up the hope that Cerise will one day say yes. It also helps that at the moment we have been sending more time alone together planning new bookball strategies, a bonus of being the two best players on the team. Though things were not ideal I was still able to learn a little bit more about Cerise, and for now that would have to do.
"Are you done looking at yourself yet Daring? We have to get going to class soon you know!" Hopper asked in a frustrated tone.
"Hopper, you know that I need to spend time and effort picking out the most charming look every day in order to keep up with my perfect charming image. I cannot disappoint my public with anything less than the perfect royal Prince Daring Charming." Daring states from in front of his mirror checking his hair for what may have been the hundredth time.
"It's not like any of your so call 'public' is going to think anything less of you, if you happen to spend less time on your look Daring!" Hopper reminds the other prince while shaking his head at him. "I mean really I can't even think of a single girl in this whole school, who isn't charmed by you unless they are already with someone else and even than some of those girls would still leave that person at the drop of a hat for a chance with you!"
"Yes, Hopper I may have most of the girls completely charmed by me but that doesn't mean that I can let myself go!" Daring explained to his roommate for what may have been the thousandth time, as he fixed the crown on his head. "I need to always be perfect and charming, after all that is what being the best means for a Charming."
"Well, you go ahead and keep on obsessing over your looks 'Mr. Perfect Prince Charming' but I'm gonna start walking to class before I'm late see you later." Hopper states finally giving up on getting his roommate to leave for class with him.
"Later Hopper." Daring said without looking away from the mirror. "Oh, and that's 'Mr. Perfect Prince Daring Charming' to you, my friend."
Hopper rolled his eyes at Daring but doesn't say a word as he walks out of their dorm room. As Hopper finally leaves Daring lets out a tired sigh. Though Hopper had a point about how the other girls were completely charmed by him the same for some reason could not be said for one Cerise Hood. Daring has never wanted a chance so badly with a girl until he got a tiny peek that was the mysterious Cerise Hood, now he couldn't go a day without thinking of her enchanting smile that she tries to hide so often behind her red hood.
Daring couldn't even walk the halls of Ever After University without catching a whiff of her intoxicating cherry vanilla perfume. Daring could still remember the first time he had smelled it on her, it was kind of embarrassing because he completely forgot himself and while in the process of getting as close as he could to the new scent, he had invaded her personal space. Since than that cherry vanilla scent haunted him wherever he went, it didn't matter if he was in class, at the gym or in the enchanted forest the scent seemed to stalk him even his dreams weren't safe from it. He really needed Cerise to finally agree on a date with him. In fact, he only spent so much time getting ready today because he had been hoping that this would be that wonderful day where Cerise would finally say yes to him.
Oh, dearest Cerise of all the girls in school you are the one of the few girls who never sighs, swoon or faint at the sight of me. If anything, I count it as lucky if you even cracked a smile in my direction! I don't know what I must do to get you to finally feel for me what, I have come to feel for you, but I will not rest until its done!
It wouldn't be easy that much Daring knew, especially since there seem to be a lot of hidden things about Cerise that he didn't know but he was determined to find out. Some might say that the only reason he is trying this hard is because Cerise is a challenge that he hasn't been able to figure out. And while Daring could agree that this was part of the reason, another part of him though an animalistic part told him that he and Cerise belonged together. And so he decided to pursue that feeling because for whatever reason it felt right.
Narrators Pov
MN: Luckily for Daring, he will soon have the answers he seeks but not in the way that he would have hexepected.
FN: Indeed, but that will all be revealed later on in this story!
Thanks again for those who are new here or previous readers for supporting this reprised story as well. As you can see, I've also upped the rating to M for…reasons.
