A/N: Hello everyone, this is my first ever fanfiction. It is a crossover of Sonic The Hedgehog and Fire Emblem Fates. I actually originally wrote this chapter back in September as I had it on stand by for a very long time now. I will be uploading new chapters weekly but certain chapters might come a little sooner after short chapters. For the record, I wrote this chapter and will be writing all future chapters in Google Docs. I just want to thank the fanfictions, Earthborne and Those Who Can't Teach for inspiring this fanfiction to come through fruition. This work of fiction definitely took a lot of inspiration from those two fanfictions. Anyway without further to do… let us begin the story!

Well it has been one heck of an adventure but this is an experience I will never forget. It all started just one week ago, Blaze had returned to her own dimension, Silver had returned to his own time, Rouge, Shadow and Omega had all returned to working for GUN and Knuckles returned to Angel Island to resume his duty of guarding the Master Emerald. So it really has only been Tails and I these past few days. Egghead has been awfully quiet ever since we originally defeated him just one month ago and no one knew where he or his robots were at.
Eventually a drone flies into Tails's Lab in Green Hill Zone and Tails and I both notice the drone delivering a quick message. "Greetings Sonic and Tails the doctor is requesting both your presences at his base in Green Hill Zone immediately" the drone greets Tails and I. "Huh why does Eggman want to meet with us all of a sudden?" Tails asks me. "I don't know little buddy but I think this might be Egghead's retirement announcement" I reply.
"Okay but are you sure that this isn't another one of his traps because he has tricked us many times in the past?" Tails replied. "Look Tails everything is going to be fine and if it is a trap don't worry because I will be there to protect you from harm's way¨ I reply. We both then made our way to Egghead's base in the Tornado 2. Once we eventually arrived there.
Tails parks the Tornado 2 at the entrance to the base and we then both entered the base. Along the way, we saw many idle crabmeats, egg pawns and buzz bombers but we just ignored them and just continued walking through. We were walking for a while until we eventually saw Egghead accompanied by Orbot and Cubot standing in front of a room waving at us. "Greetings Sonic and greetings Tails I have a surprise waiting for you inside this room, please come in," Egghead says to us.
Tails was skeptical for a while but I was successful in convincing him to enter the room and he then agreed. We both entered the room as we were following Egghead and Orbot and Cubot were both trailing behind us. Eventually we came across a strange machine and Egghead opened up the door for us to enter. Tails was now almost certain this was a trap judging by the look of fury on his face but then the doctor began to speak.
"If you two both step inside this machine, it will teleport you to a faraway world where your wildest dreams will come true" The doctor says to us. I was now in my own little fantasy thinking about a world where I have infinite miles of land to run on and where I can eat an infinite number of chili dogs and Tails then eventually snapped me out of my imagination. "Sonic, don't listen to him, this is nothing but a trap he is trying to get rid of us," Tails told me. "Aw come on Tails I am not taking any chances here, I am going in doc" I say excitedly.
"Excellent Sonic I knew that you would trust me," the doctor said with a slight evil grin forming on his face. "Sonic don't!" Tails shouts. "Don't worry Tails I will be okay and if the world has chili dogs then I will bring you back some" I say. Once I entered the machine, the doctor shut the door behind me.
"Alright, he is inside the machine, now activate chaos control already so we can finally get rid of that pesky little blue hedgehog once and for all," Dr. Eggman said to his two robots. "Aiyai doctor!" shouted Orbot and Cubot. I then saw a lot of light around me as this was when I found out it was a trap. I tried spin dashing my way out of the machine but I realized that the metal was too thick so I couldn't do so.
"Sonic no!" I hear Tails shout in my direction. "Don't worry everything will be okay little buddy" I say to Tails. I then saw many tiny lightning bolts form above my head and before I knew it everything suddenly went dark. I then woke up in a forest as I heard the sound of crickets chirping around me and I realized that I was laying down right next to a lake.
I then got back on my feet as I began running around this forest, trying to figure out where I was. This forest did not look like Green Hill Zone or any forestry area that I have been to in the past. But I then looked up to the sky as to my surprise the Moon was still intact. I found this odd since I knew that Egghead destroyed half of the Moon using the Eclipse Cannon.
That was my que for me to realize that I am no longer on Earth but in a different world entirely. There is no way that I could´ve traveled through time because even though the time stones are capable of time travel, the chaos emeralds aren't. Soon, I hear a low moaning coming from the deepness of the forest accompanied by two other voices. "Aw yeah this is happening!" I shout excitedly.
I was now excited to know whether or not this world was more fun than my old world. The voices all became louder and then I saw three muscular almost humanoid green ugly figures standing right in front of me. The figures all had buckles and chains around their bodies and they wore large masks with many holes in them. One of the figures appeared to be winding up a punch but then I dodged it and I jumped up into the air and used my homing attack on it.
My homing attack wasn´t that powerful because the creature blocked it with his arms and now I was completely surrounded by the three figures as they were about to kill me right then and there until I came up with an idea as a smirk quickly formed on my face. I was now about to run around the figures to try to overwhelm them with my super speed but then right when I was about to do so I noticed something was wrong. I could no longer run very fast like sure I could still spindash. But I then thought if chaos control might´ve taken a massive toll on my body, temporarily removing me, my ability to run very fast.
I then sit there on the ground helplessly awaiting my possible death until I heard the sound of two horses approaching me and the three figures. On one horse there sat a blond haired human in dark armor and wielding a sword which gave me flashbacks about that adventure in which I used a sword. On the other horse there sat two more humans, one was female and had blue and pink hair while the other was male and had brown hair. The blonde hair man then began to attack the three figures with his sword as the three figures once defeated, all disintegrated into a strange purple mist.
"Ah those mages, what do they think when creating such abominations?" The blond haired man says. The blond knight then notices me. "Hey you there, are you alright?" he asks me. "Yes i'm fine, thanks a lot" I reply as I got back off the ground.
Once he gets a better look on me his face turns into an expression of shock as the woman and the male all look shocked once they notice me as well. "Uh, is something wrong guys?" I ask them. "Uh no nothing is wrong but I didn't know you could talk" he says to me. "Well I could do all sorts of things" I replied.
"Well I don't mean to come across as rude but what are you supposed to be?" he asked me. Well I suppose that since I am now in another world it will make sense for anthropomorphic animals like myself to not coexist with humans. "Well I am a hedgehog" I reply. "It's just because I don't remember seeing hedgehogs with such big eyes, being capable of human speech, wearing clothes, having blue fur, standing on two feet and being three feet tall," he replied.
"Well I am a different kind of hedgehog" I say to him. "Well allow me to introduce myself, my name is Crown Prince Xander the crown prince of Nohr" he begins "and these hear *pointing to the other two humans* are my two retainers Peri and Laslow" he said. "Hi I am Laslow and it is a pleasure to meet you" Laslow says to me with a smile on his face. "Hello I am Peri and it is also a pleasure to meet you" Peri says to me with a smile on her face.
"Hello everyone, my name is Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog" I say waving to everyone. "Well Sonic believe it or not but while I was approaching your battle with the Faceless I saw you spin into those guys and you looked very brave back there and I was very impressed by your bravery" Xander said to me. "Say how would you like to be appointed as my retainer in training, you will simply act as my own personal retainer and I can train you to become a powerful warrior?" Xander asks me. "That sounds like a great idea to me and I have been craving for some action recently" I say.
"Well Sonic it is getting late, say how would you like a ride back to the Northern Fortress and on the way there you can explain to me your story?" Xander asks me. "That sounds like a great idea, count me in" I say. "Great well let's go now" Xander says as he hopped back onto his horse with me mounting his horse after him. And then we all then took off for the Northern Fortress.

A/N: Well I hope that you all enjoyed chapter 1 of this fanfiction. It took about an hour for me to write but I am glad that it finally came out good in the end. To answer some questions that you guys may have, here is a list of things that I do not plan on including in this fanfiction:
-No chaos emeralds because even though I will be including the rings. I will not be including the chaos emeralds since I do not know how to implement them into this story.
-None of Sonic´s friends will join him on this journey because of story reasons.
Finally, I have already decided which route Corrin will choose but you will have to wait to find out. Well I hope that you are all looking forward to chapter 2 in which Sonic will meet the other Nohrian royal siblings. Well have a good day y´all…
