Author's Note: So I decided to create a whole new version of this story because a while back I created this story but I forgot the rest of the chapters so I just rewrote it to make it more better. This story belongs to me, the characters Rengia, Sabaki, Yi, and Mina belong to me as well. Any other characters that are in here I do not own. I hope you all enjoy this version. Remember to review! Thank you!
Chapter 1
Rengia Rengoku/Rengia & Senjuro
A train was running on the tracks. It was late at night. A burst of bright orange-yellow flames was following the train. The burst of flames disappeared to reveal a young woman. She has long beautiful golden-hair that ended with red tips flying behind her. She wears a black skintight dress that stops above her knees. A long black veil with dark red flames at the end is flapping up and down behind her.
She wears a white belt around her waist. Her sword is in the halter of the belt. She chases the train, her golden-yellow feathered wings that were tipped with red flapping in the air. She flies above the train, and she lands down onto the rooftop on one of the cars.
She takes out her sword and slashes across the train's rooftop in an X like shape. The rooftop is blown off. The young woman looks down into the train car. She sees four young children huddled together in fright. They look up to see the young woman.
"Are you four alright?" the young woman asks them.
The four children nod yes, too frighten to speak. The young woman reaches her arms down towards them.
"Alright! I am going to pull you up!" she calls down to them.
One by one, the young woman pulls up the children and she places them on top of the train car. Once she has gotten all of them, she holds them in her arms and was about to lift off when one of the children spoke up.
"Wait! My brother is still in there!" said the young boy.
Then the train shook violently, having the woman and the children to flinch. The woman looks up to see in the distance that the tracks lead down to a deep dark abyss. Her expression turning serious, she gathers the children in her arms even tighter.
"Okay. Hold on!"
With the children in her arms, she jumps into the train car and using her speed, she races through the train to get the last passenger. When she was halfway there, she felt the train drop down. She made it to the last passenger. She quickly grabbed hold of the young boy, and using the train's gravity, she pushed against the train car's side and launched herself back to the car she came in from.
The train fell down the dark abyss and exploded into a huge ball of fire. But out of that fire and smoke, the young woman twirled into the sky, using her wings to cover herself and the five children. She spread open her wings when she was at a safe distance from the wreckage. The five children were in her arms scared but safe and uninjured.
She flew back to land where the rest of the passengers were waiting. She landed and released the children. The children all ran to their parents, everyone happy and relieved to be safe. The young woman walked towards a middle-aged woman who was hugging a young girl that was among the five children she saved. The middle-aged woman looked up at the younger woman.
"Oh, thank you! How can I pay you?" she said.
The young woman smiled down at her and replied "You don't need to pay me. I'm just doing my duty."
The young woman returned to her hometown in the late afternoon. She walked into her estate.
She sees her father, Senjuro Rengoku, sitting in front of a large pot. He was stirring something inside. He looks up to see his daughter returned safe and sound. He stops stirring and gives his daughter a kind smile.
"Rengia! You're back!" he said happily.
Rengia sits down across Senjuro, on the other side of the pot. She places her sword down next to her.
"Yeah. I'm back." she said.
Rengia looks into the pot, and she sniffs the aroma of the food inside.
"Wow. That smells good Dad. What did you make?"
"I created Yakisoda Noodle Stew." Senjuro replied as he held a small bowl in his hand. He poured the stew into the bowl and handed it over to Rengia.
Rengia took the bowl from him, and she looks down at it.
"Wow, this looks good."
"Wait til you try it." Senjuro said as he poured himself a bowl.
Rengia grabbed a spoon, and she took a sip of the stew. Her eyes grew wide at the taste.
"Wow! This is good! You did really great on this one!" Rengia exclaimed.
Senjuro chuckles a little. "It's only lunch Rengia."
Rengia looks at her dad with a soft smile. "I know. It just feels nice to come home to an already cooked meal."
Senjuro perks up and he asks Rengia a question. "Oh! How did it go?"
Rengia looks up from her bowl and is a bit confused on what Senjuro was speaking about but then she remembered what she just did and a big smile spread across her face.
"It was amazing Dad! I saved thirty-two passengers on a high speeding train! I even saved five young children!" Rengia explained.
Senjuro looked down at his bowl, stirring his food a little. His eyes were sad but his smile was happy.
"I'm so proud of you Rengia. You remind me of my brother."
Rengia tilts her head and looks at Senjuro with confusion. "Your brother?"
Senjuro looks up at Rengia with a smile. "Your uncle, Kyojuro Rengoku."
Rengia looks at her dad with curiousness in her eyes.
"My uncle?" she asked in wonder.
"Mm-hm." Senjuro nodded.
Rengia's face softened. "How was he like?"
Senjuro smiles a bit wider as he recalls how his brother used to be like. "He was the best person anyone could meet. He was kind, caring, gentle, supportive. He always spoke loudly, and he was full of passion. He didn't let anything get to him."
Rengia looks down as she tries to imagine what type of life it would have been if her uncle were here. She looks back up at Senjuro.
"I wish I could meet him." she said softly.
Senjuro looks at Rengia with a soft smile. "Me too."
There was a very short silence but then Senjuro spoke up again.
"He would be proud of you."
Rengia looks at her dad with surprise. "He would?"
"Yes. He would have been happy to see you learn Flame Breathing and wanting to become the next Flame Hashira. I thought I was breaking the line of the Flame Hashira but I'm glad it didn't break."
Rengia looked at her father with sympathy. She moves over to sit next to her dad. She wraps her arm around him, comforting him.
"Dad... Why did you think you would break the Flame Hashira line?"
Senjuro's hands became fists as he remembers the reason. He tries to hold back tears.
"Because I couldn't change the color of my sword when I was younger. I didn't have it in me. So, I went down a different path."
"Dad..."
Rengia unwrapped her arm around Senjuro. She sat in front of him, and she cupped his hands in hers. She smiles at him passionately.
"I will make sure the bloodline of the Rengokus will live on. I promise!" she said.
Senjuro smiles at her. "Thank you, Rengia."
