A/N: Hi! So... I didn't get to upload this story on here, so I will do it now. This was an idea I've had for a really long time and I wanted to share it with you all. The Afghanistan storyline doesn't exist here, so JJ stays at the BAU in season 6. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think so far :)

A/N #2: For a little, small difficulty, I changed back to ssaunitchiefjemily to be more consistent with my stories on here. I apologize for this change!

The power of the warehouse lights was cut off, and Doyle attempted to loosen Emily's grip around his neck, backing her into a table behind them. Emily felt the impact, ignored the pain, and struggled to turn them around, so that Doyle was on the ground and she was towering over him.

Grabbing a broken table leg near her as best as she could with her cuffed hands, she used it to whack him across the face, grunting with each effort. She took small pleasure in seeing the blood coming from his mouth and nose. After the third whack, Ian finally grabs another table leg and impales her through her abdomen.

Emily grunted and tried to hold herself up, which had failed. She could barely make out Doyle's words to her. "Where's Declan, Emily? Tell me…" She fell down to where he was now, and couldn't concentrate on anything but the table leg in her.

"No," she weakly answers with a head shake.

Gunshots were heard through the warehouse and Doyle decided to flee from the scene, leaving Emily on the ground. JJ, Derek, and a few S.W.A.T. team members made their way in. They came across Liam and shot him across the chest before continuing their path. JJ signals to Derek that they'll split up and he nods in agreement before going their separate ways.

JJ checks her surroundings before her eyes land on a limp body on the ground. She gasped once she recognized who it was.

"Emily!"

JJ scrambled to the ground of the warehouse Doyle had taken Emily in, coming across Emily laying there in defeat. Shaking her head, JJ instinctively placed a hand on the other woman's face and checked to see any damage on her body. "I got her! I got her in the basement on the south side," she yelled into her mic piece. "Get a medic, please!"

She could not take her eyes off the wooden table leg Emily was staked with. It was stuck there; JJ couldn't pull it out. Instead, she told Emily to keep her eyes open.

"Emily," she quickly says. "Emily, please. Squeeze my hand twice, if you could hear me."

She felt a light squeeze once. Then after a small pause, she felt another one that was a little weaker the second time.

JJ nodded and brushed Emily's bangs away from her forehead. Without thinking, she placed a kiss there. "Ok, ok. Just stay with me, Emily. The ambulance is on their way."

"JJ," she weakly coughs with a head shake. "Let me go."

JJ's eyes widened as she shook her head. "No, no, no. I am not letting you go, Emily." She yelled through the warehouse, "Somebody help me!"

"I never," the brunette swallowed as best as she could. "I never said anything."

"Don't." JJ shakes her head. "The more you talk, the more you're going to bleed out."

"I never said anything," Emily continued in a whisper. "I'm a coward."

JJ was confused by her words but shook her head anyway. "Listen, Emily. I know why you did all this, ok? You did it for Declan. I'm so proud of you, Emily." She tearfully smiles. "I always knew you had a soft spot for kids. I always did."

"I love you," Emily faintly smiles. "I've always admired you for so long, JJ. I always knew you were strong. You deserve so much. I want you to know that." She realized she didn't have any more strength to talk anymore, but wanted to try to say goodbye to her.

JJ could barely process her words. She was too caught up with her own worries. "Please stay with me, Emily," she softly started to cry. "Come on. Stay with me."

Emily's eyes began to close and her grip on JJ's hand loosened. Her body's temperature gradually dropped, and her breathing slowed also. JJ shook her head again and hiccupped a sob. "Come on, Emily. Emily…" her voice came to a falter.

Emily's head fell to the side, into JJ's palm, and the blonde couldn't bring herself to remove her hand away. Her hand only stayed there, not moving. Every part of JJ barely moved. Her brain couldn't fully comprehend the scene in front of her; she could only sit there frozen beside Emily's body; she couldn't tear her eyes away from the sight; her mouth won't make out words.

Emily was lying on the ground, lifeless in JJ's arms.

Derek came rushing in behind JJ and checked for any clearance in their surroundings. No sign of Doyle anywhere, he thought in frustration. JJ still didn't move from her position. All she could focus on is Emily's body in her arms.

Derek crouched down beside her and looked at Emily's body. Tossing his gun aside on the floor, he shook his head, feeling guilty about not being there for Emily and everything he's said about her during the case. He carefully pulled JJ's hand away from the brunette's cheek and pulled her into his chest. JJ began to cry and grip onto his shirt.

"Emily," she hiccups again. "Derek, she's-"

Derek nodded. "I know, baby." He sniffled back his own tears and rubbed her back. "I know."
