DISCLAIMER:
Hello and welcome to this story. For this one, I'll go back to my origins and write a Ridonculous Race story. This is a reimagination of RR but with Katie and Sadie instead of the Step Brothers.
I don't have anything against the Step Brothers, in fact they are really fun, and I wish we could have seen a little more of them as friends, but for this story I wanted to keep it similar to my first story, Ridonculous Race featuring the Drama Team. So a big apology to all the Stepbrothers fans and I hope you enjoy it.

None down, Eighteen to Go, Part 1
Our story starts in Toronto, Canada. Two girls are standing in front of a beautiful townhouse, looking inside their backpacks and chatting in an excited voice. This is the last chance they have to make sure they're ready for their new adventure.
They're both around 20 years old. One of them is a 5ft 7in feet tall (more or less) tan-skinned and skinny girl. The other is 3 inches shorter than the first one, with rose beige skin and chubbier than her friend.
Aside from that, both look the same. Their black hair in pigtails and using a pink sun visor to protect their eyes. They wore matching clothes, pink jeans, striped white and black tops, and pink sneakers. Their backpacks were pink with fake angel wings at their sides.
"Sadie, Are you ready?"
"As ready as you are."
"Oh my gosh I'm so nervous! It's been a while since we appeared on TV!" said Katie in an excited tone.
Sadie kept looking inside her bag, replying in a calmer tone. "C'mon Katie, just two years ago, we made a cameo on Total Drama fourth season, remember the yacht?"
"BUT SADIE, that doesn't count. We haven't competed in a show since Island, and that was 3 years ago. I'm itching to show everyone what we're capable of," said the thinner BFF, flexing her arm.
"That's true, and in the 'Ridonculous Race,' a show in which we can compete together!" Sadie stopped looking at her backpack and began to clap excitedly. "We'll definitely win this time."
Katie held her friend's hands "I was thinking exactly the same with the exact same words. We'll definitely win this time."
"EEEEEEE!" both BFFFL squeed at the same time.
Sadie coughed, recovering her composure. "Anyway, before the taxi arrives, let's see we got everything, OK?"
"But Sadie, we have checked our luggage three times already!" replied Katie, raising an eyebrow.
"Once we're in the taxi, it'll be too late. So bear with me only one last time, pretty please?" said Sadie, making puppy eyes to her best friend.
The tanner girl just chuckled, "I can't say no if you ask it like that. Let's do it."
"Thanks, Katie, so how many changes of clothes do we bring?"
"Five identical outfits, all made by moi."
"Toothbrush?"
"Yes, and also mint-flavored dental floss."
"Hairbands?"
"Two dozens of the ones with pink balls that we love."
"Passports?"
Katie began to look in her backpack, making a strained smile.
"Katie, did you forget your passport?"
"I… hehehe it's so silly. I'm sure I put it on my dressing table so I wouldn't forget it," Katie began to look more frantically inside her backpack.
"Kaaatie," said the shorter BFFFL in a worried tone.
Katie pushed the backpack into Sadie's hands. "Keep looking in my backpack while I take a quick look in my room."
The taller girl entered the house, shouting something to her parents, but Sadie couldn't understand what were they saying.
Then the taxi sent by the show arrived to take them to Union train station. Inside it was the camera crew, ready to film their introduction.
Sadie ran to the house's door and shouted. "KATIE! They're already here. Did you find it?"
"YES! It was in my dressing table," Katie ran down the stairs. She then shouted one last time inside the house, "Now we're really going, mom, see ya!"
"Good luck dear, I'll be cheering for you! Bye Sadie," said Katie's mom, coming out of the kitchen and waving at them.
However both BFFFLs were already running to the taxi. Even after the small problem, they had an excited smile on their faces.
"Ok, This was probably the worst blunder we'll make during the race," said Katie, putting a hand over her chest.
"What blunder? You remember it just in time, so everything is ok," Sadie winked at her.
"Oh Sadie, you're the best friend I could ask for!" said Katie hugging her best friend.
They then introduced themselves to the camera crew and went to union station, the starting point of the competition. Both Katie and Sadie were sure that this time it was their time. But the other 17 teams surely have something to say about this.
After some minutes the taxi arrived at the Union train station. Over the building, the handsome host of the show, Don, started the first episode introduction. He smiled confidently at the camera as he began to talk.
"This is Toronto, the capital of North America, birthplace of funk, where the albino panther roams free," he smiled, proud of that ad-lib line.
"Beneath my manly size thirteen brogues, 18 teams are arriving at this historic train station, ready to embark on a race around the world. I'm your host Don, and this is…" Don showed his beautiful smile at the camera while making a dramatic pause.
"…The Ridonculous Race"
As the intro rolled, the staff helped the host go down the building. Katie and Sadie looked at him in awe.
"OMG GOSH Sadie, it's him," said Katie in an excited tone.
"Yes, I can't believe he's better looking live than in those spy movies," replied the shorter BFFFL.
"I thought the same thing! He's like really good-looking."
"If he was only 20 years younger, ok maybe 12 years younger!"
"EEEEE!" both squeed at the same time.
The cameraman interrupted them. "Excuse me girls. We'll need you to come out of the taxi to film your intro scene."
"Okay!" replied both, saluting and then entering the taxi again.
Meanwhile, Don was already on the street, the makeup assistant finished fixing him up. After thanking the staff, he smiled and began to record the next section.
"Welcome to the Ridoncolous Race. Right now 18 teams from across the country are readying themselves to embark on a race to the death-," Don's voice was full of confidence, but then he suddenly stopped.
He began to listen at his earpiece, nodding. "Not to the death? Okay", and then resumed with the introduction. "Let's meet the teams that aren't - wink - racing to the death."
"Katie and Sadie: The BFFFL. What does that even mean?" asked Don as he introduced them.
The scene changed to a taxi parked in front of the station. Katie and Sadie came down, waved at the camera, and also sent some kisses. Both had big smiles on their faces and seemed pretty excited.
Group Confessional: BFFFL Team
The group confessional is a big blue room with the world map as the background. Katie is sitting on the left side and Sadie on the right side.
"Sadie and I met 15 years ago, and we have been best friends since forever," said Katie in an excited tone.
The shorter BFFFL nodded. "We have been inseparable since then. I'm sure in a past life we were twins sisters."
Katie winked at the camera. "We're so close to each other…"
"…that sometimes we finish the other sentences," Sadie said smirking.
"EEEEEEE" both girls squeed and then high-fived.
"So we decided to enter the show and test our teamwork," said Sadie, after recovering her composure.
"and win this show as the BFFFL," added the thinner BFFFL.
"THE BEST FRIENDS/FEMALE FOREVER/FRIENDS FOR LIFE," said the friends at the same time, and then glared at each other.
"Katie, it's friends forever for life," said Sadie, putting her hands on her hips.
"No Sadie, is females friends for life," Katie folded her arms.
Then both keep glaring at each other in awkward silence.
As the other teams were introduced, Katie and Sadie took their place at the starting line. After talking about it, they decided that the meaning behind BFFFL wasn't as important as their friendship, so they would just forget about it.
"Oh my gosh Sadie! Just look how many people are already here. And some of them look really strong," said Katie, holding her BFFFL's hands.
"Yes Katie, I'm starting to feel like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs," said Sadie, her voice trembling.
The taller girl chuckled. "Hahaha, Sadie, what does that even mean?"
"Don't laugh. My dad always says that when he's nervous," replied Sadie, looking at the ground.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. But you must admit it sounds funny, except for the poor cat," said Katie drying a tear. She then looked tenderly at her friend, "Don't worry, we're together. Even if the other teams are stronger, they don't have a friendship as strong as ours."
Sadie chuckled. "That was really cheesy."
"Hehehe, I know. But it's true."
"Thanks Katie."
"Anytime you need me," the tall girl winked. Now they were really bumped to do this.
As the BFFFLs bonded, Don walked in front of the teams. After this segment, the show would start for real.
"Welcome contestants, this is the starting line for your 26-part race around the world," Don looked at them and made a beautiful smile. "Each part ends at a chill zone. Get there fast because the last team to stand on the carpet of completion may be cut from the competition, but the first team to reach our last chill zone will win one million dollars!"
Everyone cheered. The BFFFL held their hands together and squeed joyfully.
Then in the corner of her eye, Katie seemed to notice something, but before she could tell Sadie, Don continued the introduction.
"Look over here. This is our Ridoncolous Race tip box, also known as the Don box. Press this button to get the travel tips that will lead you through the Ridonculosu race," said Don, pressing the machine's button and getting one of the travel tips he mentioned.
Katie then pulled Sadie's backpack. "Hey Sadie, look over there, isn't he-"
However, she was interrupted by Don's loud voice, who said the words all the contestants were waiting for. "Ready teams, on your marks, get, set, RACE!" All the teams ran toward the Don box, trampling poor Don, who pleaded for them to stop or at least to not touch his hair.
After stepping over the host like everyone else, the BFFFLs got their first tip.
"Race on foot to the CN Tower and find the Don box to get your next tip," read Sadie aloud, "Oh my gosh Katie! The CN Tower it's really close!"
"Let's show them the power of playing as the home team," shouted Katie raising an arm.
"TORONTO! EEEEEEE," squeed both friends, and they began to run toward the CN Tower.
As locals, the BFFFL have an easy time getting ahead of most teams, but when they arrived, some teams were already there, being the first a man in his 40s and his teenage son. They were Dwayne and Dwayen Jr. The Father and son team.
"I can't believe they beat us. They must be from Toronto too," said Sadie, snapping her fingers.
"Oh c'mon Sadie, we'll beat them next time," said the taller BFFFL, "also that Mister is quite handsome for his age, don't you think?"
The chubbier BFFFL blinked a couple of times, confused by what her friend said. Then she decided Katie was joking. "Y-yes Katie, but let's focus on the competition."
Both friends nodded and took their turn in the Don box, this time Katie pressed the button and read the tip.
"Either-or: stairs: climb 144 flights of stairs to reach the world's tallest observation deck, or scares: take the elevator and walk all the way around the outside of the CN Tower." She then looked at her friend. "That means we can walk around the tower for FREE!"
"WHAT? We paid almost 400 dollars last year," said Sadie in an upset tone, "and also it was really scary."
Katie nodded, putting a finger under her chin. "Yes, and I guess this time will be without the harness."
"Should we take the stairs?"
"Oh my gosh I was thinking the same!"
"EEEEEEE" squeed both BFFFL, then Katie took a deep breath, "But there are like a lot of stairs, no?"
Sadie waved her hand, "Don't worry, we're wearing sneakers. How hard can it be?"
Both friends ran toward the stairs. Katie was still hesitating, but it was better to climb up the stairs than risk her life falling from the tower as Sadie said, right?.
Wrong! At this moment, Katie remembered why she should listen to her hunches. Not only this was hard, but many teams had already passed them.
The tanner BFFFL looked up, and some stairs ahead was the same person she saw at Union station. "Hey Sadie, look who is there!"
"Sorry Katie, I can't raise my head. *Huff* I can't believe there are so many stairs," replied Sadie, heavy breathing. "Are we already there?"
Katie made a meek smile. "We're almost there, only mhmhmh stairs left."
"Sorry I didn't understand you. How many did you say?" asked Sadie, who seemed about to pass out.
"54 more stairs left," replied Katie in a nervous tone, "well, actually 53, we just reached floor 91."
Sadie's eyes went wide. She then groaned and sat on the stairs, "Sorry Katie, but I can't do it. Just continue without me."
Katie was also tired, but she knew she couldn't show it or Sadie would give up. So she tried to cheer her friend.
"What are you saying? We're already at two-thirds of the tower. C'mon Sadie, I'm also tired, but I'm sure we can do it," said the taller BFFFL, putting a hand on Sadie's shoulder.
But her friend shook her head. "It's useless. I can't feel my legs. Please tell my parents that I loved them."
"Saaadie!" said Katie, putting her hands on her hips. "You can't give up! Remember how much you wanted to compete again, to have a chance to appear on TV? This is the chance we were waiting for!"
"Sorry Katie, but I forgot about all that around floor 30," replied Sadie, huffing and puffing.
Katie looked friend's eyes. "I won't force you if you can't do it, but do you really want to go on the first round without doing your best? In a show where we're competing together? If you already did your best then I'll only sit at your side until you can move again and wait to become the first boot on the show."
Sadie took a deep breath and stood up again using the handrail. "Sorry Katie, you're right. This is our chance! I can't give up!"
"That's the spirit!"
"Let's go to the top!"
"Sadie you can do it. You're the best."
Both friends then began to climb up again, quicker than before, but after three floors, Sadie looked at her friend, frowning.
"Katie, can you piggyback me?" asked Sadie, fluttering her eyelashes at her friend.
"Sorry Sadie, it's impossible," replied Katie with a deadpan expression, used to this question.
The chubby BFFFL sighed. "I needed to give it a try."
Climbing the stairs was harsh, but after that moment, Sadie did her best, and in minutes both BFFFLs were entering the door of the observation deck. They were tired and sweating a lot, but they were already there.
"*Huff* Look Sadie! We did it, we reach the top!" Shouted Katie in an excited tone, raising both arms.
Sadie made a small smile, dragging her feet behind her friend. "I can't believe it, but we did it. Just remind me I need to hit the gym more often after the show. I need to improve my condition!"
"I'll remind you, don't worry," said Katie as she took the tip from the red-haired intern. "Thank you!"
"What does it say?" asked Sadie, stretching her arms.
Katie read it quickly. "Oh my gosh Sadie, it says we need to take the next tip in that zipline."
"Zipline? That sounds fun," Sadie dried the sweat off her forehead and smiled. "I always wanted to try one of those."
"Me too! I was so jealous when they ziplined during the brazil episode," replied Katie, frowning. "World tour had the best challenges. I wonder why they make us watch the season if they didn't intend to let us compete again."
Sadie shrugged, "don't think too much about it. Let's enjoy the present and go ziplining."
Both friends held the bar with one hand and jumped.
"EEEEEEEEEE!" both squeed excitedly, and then at the same time held the tip with their free hand.
"Look, we're synchronized! EEEEEEEEE," shouted both at the unison while laughing.
Then both hit some cushions at the bottom of the line, falling over another competitor who groaned. The BFFFLs then gasped.
"GEOFF?" Asked Sadie, surprised to be sat over their old friend.
"I knew it was him!" said Katie excitedly.
The blond man pained expression turned into a big grin. "KATIE AND SADIE! I can't believe it, dudettes. What are you doing here?"
Katie chuckled, "we're competing in the Ridonculous race, same as you?"
"That's why we also use the same zip line as you," added Sadie, also chuckling.
"Hahaha, it's true. Well, we need to buy a ticket to Morocco! So let's go and catch up," said Geoff, winking.
"Yes, that would be awesome," said both BFFFLs in unison. "Look, we're still synchronized, EEEEEEE!"
Geoff laughed nervously. "yes, EEEEEE! But can you get off my back?"
The BFFFLs jumped off him, blushing.
"Yes, of course."
"We're sorry."
"Don't sweat about it, dudettes," said Geoff, who then stood up, carrying another man over his shoulder.
"And who's the person you're carrying around?" asked Sadie, tilting her head.
The man groaned as Geoff patted his back. "This is Brody, my best friend and partner in the race!"
Both BFFFLs gasped as they continued running toward the airport.
Group Confessional: Gidgette.
"Oh my gosh Sadie, did Bridgette and Geoff break up?" asked Katie, covering her mouth with both hands. "I don't want to believe it."
"I-I don't know. It's too soon to jump to conclusions," stuttered Sadie nervously,
Katie shook her head. "But they were the cutest Total Drama couple. I was sure they would be the first to marry and the first to have a baby!"
"I even bought their wedding present," replied Sadie, looking sadly at the ground.
"You did?"
"Yes, it was a blue moka pot with pictures of dolphins. It reminded me of Bridgette."
"Oh Sadie, you're so considerate!"
"And also, I found it in a sale and was really cheap," said Sadie making a mischievous smile.
"Oh," replied Katie, her smile turning into a frown.
Geoff left Brody with Sadie while he and Katie went to buy the tickets to Morocco. The tanned man's face was contorted in pain.
"My legs! I can't feel my legs," said Brody, raising his arm.
Sadie looked inside her backpack. "I don't have any painkillers. Do you want an aspirin?"
"No, these are leg cramps, I need … potassium," he replied, holding his legs as if it was a bullet wound and not just a cramp.
"If you need potassium, I have some bananas in my backpack," Sadie took out 3 bananas from her backpack. "Here, take this."
Brody peeled the bananas and began to eat the three at the same time.
"Mwawou mwemfy mmmmch, Mfam Mhfofy" said the man trying to talk while munching the three bananas.
"Hehehe, Don't worry, you're welcome," replied Sadie, not understanding a word of what he was saying.
"Mamf, mamfe mhou mhwfhing mhomemfhone?" Brody said, his mouth filled with banana but smiling with his eyes.
She chuckled. "Don't worry, we can talk once you finish your bananas. Also, it wouldn't be better to eat them one by one?"
He kept munching and shrugged. Sadie made a small smile. Geoff's friend was a pretty fun person.
Meanwhile, Geoff and Katie were talking with the attendant to buy tickets to Salé airport in Rabat, Morocco, but they were out of luck.
"Sorry, there are no more seats on the plane to Rabat," said the attendant, shaking his head.
"And when is the next flight?" asked Katie, drumming her fingers over the desk.
"There is a flight every 30 minutes until 20:00," replied the attendant.
Geoff face beamed, "then give us 4 for the next flight."
Katie drumming became louder, the attendant looking annoyed at her now and then.
"Sorry, there are no seats either," replied the man behind the counter.
"WHAT? But you just say you would sell us the tickets. We need to be at Rabat as soon as possible," said Katie, biting her lower lip.
"Yes, dude, that isn't cool," said Geoff in an upset tone.
The attendant began to sweat. "Sorry, I told you there was another flight, but I didn't know there were no more seats on it. I can sell you tickets for the airplane that depart in one hour."
"Are you sure there is no way to go in the next one?" said Katie, looking at him with puppy eyes.
"Miss, I can't do anything. There are literally no seats," said the man, sighing. He was getting tired of the anxiety coming from Geoff and Katie. "Let's do something. I'll give you a discount on the tickets to Morocco that depart in one hour."
"Cool!" shouted Geoff and Katie, forgetting it was the show the one paying for the tickets.
And like that, both the BFFFLs and the surfer dudes along with another 4 teams, needed to wait for the last flight to Morocco. These 6 teams would compete to not be the last place and the first elimination in THE RIDONCULOUS RACE.
And that's the first episode, I decided to give a little more of development to the BFFFLs before going into the race. As you can see they are wholesome and nice, but as you can imagine, this story is about challenges they will find as a team and as people.
Thanks for reading and I hope you like it.
