When on it's own line ... means a time jump

-()- means scene change

Two spaceships, one a teal color and the other a deep purple flew, clearly hostile to each other while they fled from a much, much larger red ship. A laser shot came from the large red ship, crashing into the side of the smaller purple one. A second soon followed, doing the same to the teal ship.

"Both crafts's propulsion systems have been destroyed, sir," a humanoid drone said, looking towards a large, humanoid kraken.

"Prepare for boarding! Get those two devices!" Vilgax yelled.

Both ships, at the same time, fired a beam- the teal ship's being green while the purple's one was red- towards the larger ship. Both shots landed at the same spot, the following explosion covering that part of the larger vessel. The red ship quickly retaliated, releasing two energy beams at the ships, destroying them within that shot.

From the wreckage, four pods were seen flying towards Earth. Two of the pods, the smallest two, seemed to fly down towards a forest while the other two pods, the larger ones, went more north to a snow covered land.

"I can't believe this!" Gwen yelled in anger, raising her hands into the air and stopping in a small clearing in the forest. "I had everything planned but now I have to go on some roadtrip with doofus!" In anger, kicked a nearby rock away, causing it to casually roll into a thicket of leaves.

She looked into the sky and saw two streaks of light. Looking at them, they were probably shooting stars.

Gwen smiled at the two streaks before saying, "At least something nice happened today."

The universe seemed willing to prove her wrong before both shooting stars seemed to change direction at random, now dashing towards the forest. She let out a scream before running in the direction she came, just before one of the stars came crashing down were she once stood. The following shockwave pushed her further away and off of her feet.

-()-

Ben growled and kicked another rock towards a tree, it thumping against the bark before joining the other kicked rock at the base of the trunk. "It's not fair!" Ben hissed at nothing, noticing another loose rock and kicking it at the tree. He growled before picking up a slightly larger rock and throwing it at the tree, but it just thunked against it and fell down to the other rocks.

He then sighed and leaned his head back to look at the sky. Oh, shooting stars, cool.

Then they changed directions, one of them seemingly aiming for him. Ben froze up slightly before managing to jump out of the way of the asteroid. The shockwave forced him to crash into a tree before letting him fall to the ground.

-()-

Gwen got up, chirping, "What the heck?!"

Once she did so, she promptly went over to the crash site, looking at it. In the crater was an odd metal orb. She wandered up to the edge of the crater, but she quickly found that the ground was unstable and she tumbled down. Gwen caught herself on the orb, but it then made an odd noise. She backed away from it, but the orb just seemingly opened up in a puff of smoke.

"What in the world…" Gwen muttered to herself before going to see the contents of the orb. Inside it was a watch of sorts, glowing a tame green. The watch was an odd grey color with white markings. Its faceplate seemed to have some sort of hourglass symbol with the hourglass itself being green while the rest of the space in the circle was a deep grey color. For once, she let curiosity get the better of her and she reached out for it.

The watch then promptly jumped at her, making itself attach to her left wrist.

She let out a screech before yelling, "Get off, get off, get off!" She tried shaking the watch off, but when that clearly didn't work, she tried pulling at it. When that didn't work, Gwen called out, "Grandpa!" before climbing out of the crater and towards the campsite.

-()-

Ben groaned before pushing himself up, bringing himself to his knees before rubbing his head with a bloody hand. He saw the blood, looking at the small wound before pushing himself up fully. "What in the world was that?" Ben questioned before turning to the crater.

He went into it, seeing an orb just sitting there.

"Alien dodgeball?" Ben snickered before touching the orb with his wounded hand. At the touch, the orb reacted, opening up. Ben flinched his hand away, but couldn't help but see the watch inside of it.

The faceplate sat on a black wristband, the faceplate itself having a red background with teeth in the foreground.

"Cool…" Ben muttered, staring at the watch. He reached out for it. It decided to jump on his wrist as well, but Ben only stepped back slightly from it doing so. "So… I guess you chose me or something?" Ben speculated before messing a bit with it.

Very quickly, however, he pressed a hidden button on the side of the faceplate and a light came from the watch. The teeth seemed to open up a bit more as a hologram appeared from the watch. The hologram glowed red and showed in a red hologram of a humanoid thing with wing flaps and a vampiric vipe.

His eyes widened at the hologram before putting his hand on the faceplate. From feeling it, Ben realized the faceplate had somehow popped up. He pressed down.

"Grandpa!" Gwen yelled as she came into the camp.

Grandpa Max quickly noticed her and asked, "What is it Gwen?"

"There were two shooting stars, then one went right at me, then this thing jumped onto my wrist," Gwen said between breaths, lifting up the wrist with the device on it.

"Calm down, it's alright," Max said, putting a hand on Gwen's shoulder as she dropped the wrist with the watch on. He looked around before asking, "Do you know where Ben went?"

"Kinda in the opposite direction but not exactly?" Gwen tried to remember, looking behind her.

They got their answer when something flew into the air, scaring away a flock of birds. The thing that flew up looked humanoid in shape, but also seemed like it had horns.

"What is that?!" Gwen yelled, dashing away from her grandfather's touch and backing away towards the Rustbucket. Max didn't get a chance to reply before it seemingly saw them and flew towards them.

Max went into a defensive position as Gwen pressed her back against the Rustbucket. The figure landed in front of Max, letting them get a good view of it. It wore some kind of dark red mask that looked like bat wings with a black cloth covering the rest of the face save for the eyes and mouth area. The eyes were a piercing magenta and its skin was a pale blue. Around its neck and wrists were metal bits, connected to the black cloth. The cloth covered its arms and hands, just leaving the fingers and odd wing flaps uncovered. Around its shoulders was a red design that started from the shoulders, went across the chest, thinned to the metal belt, then expanded to form a robe of sorts. The rest of the suit was black and on the metal piece around its neck was a near circle with a symbol that looked like teeth with a red background.

It grinned at them, Max forming a fist as Gwen just stared in horror. Then it just… laughed before adding, "You should've seen your face, dweeb!"

"Ben?!" both Gwen and Max exclaimed at the same time.

The vampire thing laughed before joyfully chirping, "Yup!"

"I thought they were extinct…" Max whispered, unclenching his fist.

"They what now?" Ben asked, dropping his grin briefly to stare at Max.

"Nothing," Max quickly answered.

Ben tilted his head and looked at Gwen, who shrugged. He then noticed the watch on her wrist before chirping, "You got one too!"

As Ben went up to her, she put her hand over the watch before saying, "Not letting you touch it, doofus. HOW did you get like that?"

"One of the weird shooting stars came towards me and when I went to see what it was, I found this watch thing that jumped onto me, and when I pressed a button in the faceplate side, it popped up and showed a hologram and when I pressed down on the faceplate, I became this!" Ben answered.

"At least you aren't starting a forest fire," Gwen commented, crossing her arms.

"Hey grandpa, you seemed to know what this is, what is it?" Ben asked, looking at the older man and motioning to himself.

"Er, you just reminded me of a legend from Transylvania, that's all," Max explained. Ben squinted his magenta eyes at the man as Gwen raised a brow. A few seconds of awkward silence passed before Max said, "Stay here, I'm gonna check out those crash sites."

Once Max left, a few seconds passed before Ben asked, "He didn't say not to mess with the watch thing, so you gonna see if it also turns you into legends?"

Gwen looked at the watch, quiet.

"Come on, at least admit you're curious about it," Ben chirped, kneeling down to be face to face with her.

Gwen then glared at him before saying, "Fine, but I choose." Ben smiled and jumped back.

"Yup!" Ben grinned, perching on the picnic table.

She looked at the device on her wrist, looking at it. She put a hand on the device, staring at it. Her hand went over a button on the clunky wristband, accidentally pressing it. The faceplate popped up, causing her to flinch. Ben tilted his head, lifting his body up slightly to get a better look at the faceplate.

The faceplate changed to look like a green diamond on a dark grey background with a black silhouette inside the diamond. The silhouette was of a smooth blob thing. She put her hand on the dial and rubbed it, causing it to turn and change the silhouette.

"What did turning the dial do?" Ben asked, leaning his head forward a bit before retreating back so as to not fall off the table.

"I'm not too sure," Gwen replied, staring at the flaming humanoid silhouette. She turned the dial in the same direction, the silhouette changing to that of a dog-like creature. Turning it again changed it to a bulky humanoid figure. "Instead of a hologram, it's just showing me a silhouette and when I turn it, the silhouette changes."

"You think if I do the same with mine the hologram will change?" Ben wondered, lifting a hand to tap the symbol on the metal bit.

When the vampire-like tapped it, a robotic voice said, "Quick-change is disabled. Early timeout is disabled. Eight Earthen minutes remaining."

Gwen stared at the symbol, while Ben did his best to look at it. "... what?" Ben questioned after a second of silence.

The robotic voice then repeated, "Quick-change is disabled. Early timeout is disabled. Eight Earthen minutes remaining."

"Hey, I won't stay a vampire forever!" Ben chirped after a few seconds of processing. "Maybe it'll be the same with your watch thing. … if it transforms you."

Gwen looked at the faceplate, seeing it still on the bulky looking humanoid. "I'm blaming you if I'm stuck as whatever this thing is," Gwen said, causing Ben to grin like mad. She put her hand on the faceplate before pushing the faceplate down.

Green light surrounded her. Crystals came from the watch, covering it and the rest of her arm and arm. The crystals extended to cover her entire body, encasing her in a teal crystal shell that quickly refined in a yellow glow.

When the light disappeared, she noticed she was taller and was clearly made of crystals. Looking at herself, she wore a yellow and greenish grey jumpsuit with two crystal spikes coming through the suit on her back. The jumpsuit let her entire arms be free, along with her neck and head. Her head felt kinda blocky and a symbol was on a near black patch on the jumpsuit, but the green hourglass was replaced with a white one.

"Crystal… woman?" Ben questioned, tilting his head slightly.

"That's a dumb name," Gwen commented, looking towards Ben. When she did so, it sounded like shifting glass.

"Hey, maybe we can name them so we know which one we transform into!" Ben chirped. "It'll be confusing if we refer to them all with our names."

After a few seconds, Gwen added, "And it'll prevent our identities from getting out if we get into trouble with… whatever these forms are called."

"Imma call this form Dracula, then," Ben's vampire form, now dubbed Dracula, grinned.

Gwen was silent for a good few minutes before saying, "How about Kleodora? Grandpa said something about that form reminding him of a legend, right? Then why not name them after mythos?"

"Cool, you can do that. I'm calling them whatever fits them," Dracula smiled.

A clicking noise got their attention, causing them to turn to the source of the noise. Two odd machines floated there, coated in orange and red. The crystalline and vampire-like stared at the two machines, both sides now somewhat silent.

Then one of the machines shot a laser at Dracula. The vampire-like quickly went into the air and Kleodora stepped back. She then yelled, "HOW did you do that?!"

"I wondered if it had instincts and it responded with how to fly, so try that!" Dracula responded before diving down towards the robots. He landed on the robot, causing it to float back and towards the trees.

The other one faced Kleodora and shot a laser at her. Instinctively, she formed her left arm into a crystal shield and reflected the laser off of it. She blinked at the movement before smiling. "That worked," Kleodora chirped. She moved her other arm to point at the machine and shards flew out of it, crashing into the bot. It floated back from being stabbed with the crystals.

Dracula hissed and bit at the robot before ripping out part of its shell. He turned away and spit the metal out of his mouth, along with a strange black and red rock-bat looking thing. He stared at the strange rock briefly before returning his attention to the bot. The vampire-like attacked the bot again while it continued to try and shake him off.

Eventually, Dracula managed to rip out the bot's wires and it clattered to the ground. He jumped off the bot into a tree before looking towards Kleodora and the other machine. The crystalline stomped on the other robot, destroying it more than it already was.

"That was… something," Dracula commented, dropping down from the tree and approaching Kleodora.

"What are we going to do with the scrap metal?" Kleodora asked, pointing towards the robots.

"It hasn't been too long, right?" Dracula mentioned. Just then, the symbol on his neck began to flash green. Five flashes later, he transformed back to normal in a burst of green light.

They heard something break, Ben and Kleodora looked at the odd bat-rock flickering in existence before disappearing entirely. "Aw, I wanted to ask Grandpa about that," Ben complained. The red between the teeth-like symbol on his watch had turned to green.

"We still need to get rid of these," Kleodora reminded.

"What did you two get into?"

They turned around, seeing a disappointed Max at the edge of the campsite.

Both cousins- in their normal bodies- were sitting at the table in the Rustbucket, silently waiting. Ben's watch was back to red, while Gwen's was also red before beeping and flickering back to green. They silently looked towards Max as he entered the Rustbucket, giving the duo a judgmental glare.

"What did you two get up to?" Max asked, crossing his arms.

"They came to us!" Ben replied. "And you didn't say not to mess with these." He lifted up his wrist that had the device on it.

"You two could have gotten hurt," Max replied.

"But we didn't," Gwen countered.

"Besides, if we didn't destroy them, who knows what they would have done," Ben added.

Max seemed to sigh before asking, "Have either of you tried to get them off?"

"I didn't/have," Ben and Gwen said at the same time, respectively.

Ben and Max looked at Gwen, who added, "Wouldn't come off."

"Then I hope you two learn how to use them, then. You two running around with those could be dangerous," Max stated.

A nearby radio suddenly (and randomly) crackled to life, a voice saying, "Mayday! Mayday! Somebody help us! We're under attack by some sort of- I know you're not going to believe me, but… robot!"

Ben looked at Gwen, grinning. "Wanna be heroes?" Ben asked, the grin still present. Gwen smiled back.

The finally came to the campsite, seeing a tall, slick robot standing in the middle of the clearing. The cousins looked towards Max, who hesitated before nodding. They both turned their attention to their respective watches and activated them. A red hologram appeared from Ben's, it showing a bird-tiger thing. He turned it counterclockwise, the hologram changing to that of a rhino-crab creature. On Gwen's, it showed the silhouette of the flaming creature. They looked at each other again and nodded before pressing down on the dials.

Within a green light, flames surrounded her. It consumed her before pieces of charcoal formed around her, turning the mass of flames into a vaguely female humanoid shape while still letting the fire flow through the top. The symbol formed on her chest through flickers of flame.

Within a red light, his arms turned into spider-like legs, with his legs following and another pair coming out through his sides. The rest of his body was consumed by rocks, seeming to grow.

The flashes of light disappeared and two new creatures stood in their place. Gwen was now a flaming humanoid while Ben was a giant rocky rhino with crabish legs. The two looked at each other, pure fiery blank eyes meeting piercing magenta ones, before they both nodded. The rhino-like creature began to charge towards the robot, quickly followed by the flaming being.

The robot finally seemed to notice the two, but got knocked back by Ben slamming into it with his horn.

"Don't start without me, rocky!" Gwen chirped, jumping onto his back before lobbing a fireball at the robot. The fire caused it to step back.

He made a noise that sounded like a mix between a scoff and a growl. "Hey, it's Rhinorush, volcano," he grinned.

She glared down at him before countering, "And mine's Pele, rocky."

The robot fired a laser, crashing against Rhinorush, but just caused him to lift up that leg in shock. He slammed the leg back down and roared at the robot, causing Pele to just jump off. Rhinorush charged at the robot again, slamming into it and pushing it into a tree. The robot seemed to notice the collar on the rhino-like, staring at the teeth symbol before dashing towards Rhinorush and clawing at it.

Rhinorush simply knocked it away with its horn, into a fire blast made by Pele. The flaming being made the fire she created to surround the robot, but most of them were snuffed out when the robot jumped into the air. It crashed back down, causing Pele to lose focus while Rhinorush was unaffected. Pele refocused and saw her fires starting to go towards the forest, so quickly went over and pulled the fire back.

The robot tried to claw at Rhinorush again, but the rhino-like lifted up a crab-like leg and slammed it down on one of the robot's legs, causing it to break off. Rhinorush then used his horn to knock the robot back, sending it to fall onto the ground. He lunged forwards and stabbed the robot with a leg before Pele ran up and released a stream of fire at the robot's head.

The robot seemed to curl into itself, seemingly deactivating. Rhinorush got off the machine and stepped back, Pele joining him. The fire began to spread to the rest of the robot, melting it down. They looked towards a building, seeing a few people and a park ranger.

The rhino-like turned and began walking away, causing Pele to ask, "You think they're scared?"

"A big rhino thing and a flaming human come through and destroy a building-sized robot," Rhinorush shrugged, working his way back to where they last saw Max. "I don't blame 'em if they are."

"That's… fair," Pele replied, briefly stopping in the middle to go into thought.

They came to the tree they left Max at, seeing a random piece of paper stuck in the tree. Pele grabbed it, managing to not burn it as she read it. Rhinorush moved to get a look at the paper before saying, "I wonder if Grandpa knows anything about… whatever we are."

Pele burned the paper in her hands before replying, "He said Dracula reminded him of a legend, right? Maybe it's just other legends we're reminding him of?"

"Knowing his love of space, probably aliens," Rhinorush scoffed, somewhat shrugging.

Pele opened her mouth, but considered for a second before saying, "Well, the watches came from weird meteoroids, right?"

"True," Rhinorush shrugged. He lifted up his head, seemingly noticing something before saying, "Walk and talk. I see a helicopter."

"Well, let's hope it doesn't come our way then," Pele hummed before the two began to walk back.

Meanwhile, Max sat in the Rustbucket, racking through his mind of what he saw of the two watches. He never expected to see a Vladat in person, it was always remains or imagery. Similar could be said of a Petrosapien, but he knew that they were still out there.

But a Pyronite and Crabdozer working together? And the Crabdozer talking, too? He had never heard of it before. Especially since the Crabdozer didn't try to attack the Pyronite. Granted, both were formed by those… watches, so they may have different thought processes, but the idea still stood.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he saw a flame come out of the woods into the clearing, along with something much larger. Max stood up and went out of the Rustbucket to meet up with Gwen and Ben.

"Are you ok, Grandpa?" the Pyronite asked, looking at him. The Crabdozer nodded.

"I'm fine," Max answered.

Just from a glance, he could tell neither of them bought it fully.
