AN: This has been swimming around in my head for a while now and I just have to write it out. I do have another oneshot in progress and I'll get it done whenever I can.

The waves of Lava Gormiti just kept coming and coming. No matter how many of them were defeated, more rushed up to take their place. It was like the Lords were fighting a hydra - every time they chopped off a head, another two would grow in its place.

"Blast of bark!" Lucas shouted, shooting out both his fists at the fast approaching Lava soldiers, taking some - but not all - of them out.

One of them sniggered, forming a fireball in the palm of their hand. Just as they were about to throw it at an unsuspecting Lucas, their laughter was abruptly cut off as Nick slammed a fist into the ground, sending him and others around him flying.

"Thanks, dude!" Lucas said gratefully before returning his attention to the fight.

Nick did the same, firing rocks from his hands at a group of Lava soldiers that seemed to be trying to sneak up on Supreme Luminous.

The Lord of Light, despite being greatly weakened, was not about to let his greatest enemy retrieve the Shifting Sands without a fight.

They were locked in combat, barely noticing anything else around them. Nothing mattered except getting that artifact.

"Sword of pure light!"

"Power of Darkness!"

Toby, meanwhile, was facing off against Magmion who seemed intent on taunting him.

"The end is near, Lord of the Sea. Even your precious Luminous is powerless to stop the great Obscurio!"

Toby gritted his teeth. "We'll see about that!" he snarled. "Aqua Blast!"

The jet of water successfully knocked away the Lava soldiers around Magmion but he, himself, remained standing.

"Is that all you've got?" He laughed cruelly.

"Toby, look out! Behind you!"

Toby spun around quickly at the sound of Jessica's voice. Armageddon was standing there, his arm raised.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's cowardly to attack someone from behind?" Toby asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"Give it up, Lord of the Sea! You and your friends don't have any hope against the might of us Lava Gormiti!" Armageddon boasted.

He raised his arm and prepared to strike but, before he got a chance, Toby yelled out, "Claw of the Abyss!" as he transformed his hand into a giant lobster claw and grabbed Armageddon's arm in a vice-like grip before tossing him as far as he could.

"Wind Attack!" Jessica shouted suddenly. A funnel of wind passed over Toby's head and struck Magmion who, from the smell of burning, had been attempting to use the same tactic as Armageddon.

"I owe you one, Jess!" Toby shouted as he rushed off to find some more Lava Gormiti to fight.

Jessica shook her head slightly. Toby would never change. She looked around to see where would be best to strike next and gasped as she saw something disturbing.

"Guys!" she shouted as loudly as she could. "Over here! Quickly!"

"Sword of pure light!""Power of Darkness!"

The four Lords watched in awe as the two attacks - raw power - collided in mid-air. Seeing the two forces locked in battle seemed to remind them of just how much work they had to do before they could be anywhere near that level.

"Wait," Nick called out suddenly. "What's happening?"

The two attacks, rather than fading as they were cancelled out, seemed to be growing at an exponential rate.

"It's gonna explode!" Toby shouted.

For a moment, there was silence and there was a massive bang. Their ears began to ring as brilliant white light blinded them, forcing them to shut their eyes.

Unbeknownst to them, the light surrounded them as well as Supreme Luminous and Obscurio. Before anyone could react, the six Gormiti vanished, leaving Magmion, Armageddon and the rest of the Lava Gormiti frozen in some kind of stasis.
