Five years and two days from the logs of Doctor Helena Russell
It's amazing that Moonbase Alpha had been roaming around the galaxy for this long with the base thriving with births. The past six months with the extension of the base. There had been eight new births including Maya and Tony having their second child in five years.
It's been amazing...she will say into the recorder in her quarters. Though her husband Commander John Koenig gets grayer with each and every year. She loves him greatly after finally admitting their love for each other during the second year of their journey.
Currently, everyone else had been working in Command Center coming up on a planet that has appeared in their wake.
They have no idea whether there are any life forms at this point with her husband asking everyone in the Command Center to begin scanning, and including Maya with her senses. Her husband Tony was standing behind her looking at the data that had been coming in from the planet.
"Tony, take a look at this?" she sounded excited with her demeanor.
He pressed the screen to be shown up above for all to see. "You mean to tell me there was some form of life on that rogue planet?" he will tell her with Commander John Koenig coming over to see for himself.
"If this is true Tony. We will be able to send a scout ship with Alan and Sandra to take the trip with yourself and Maya down to the planet. I need all of you to record everything once down on the planet. Understood what I am trying to say to you?"
He had placed his hand through his grey hair out of nerves for the most part.
"Understood!" Maya and Tony will say in unison...
"I want all of the replacements up here so that everyone can get themselves ready for the trip. I don't wish for anyone to be disappointed if this turns out to be a bust," he said with needing to be in his quarters for a brief rest with Captain Waverly to take over for him.
Living Quarters
Helena Russell had been laying down on the couch after finishing her shift in sickbay for eight hours. She had been exhausted the past few days.
She heard the double doors open to admit her husband. She woke quickly to see him standing in the middle of the living area. She sat up to be sitting on the edge of the blue and grey couch that she designed herself with Maya's help. "What's wrong John?" she needed to say to him looking somewhat disturbed.
Taking in a deep breath before speaking...
"We have come across a rogue planet with the scanners telling us that there might be life forms, Helena," he says to her with Helena thrilled at the idea...
"Whose is going John is you don't mind be asking the question?" she moved into his chest with sensing something else might be wrong.
"Maya, Tony, Alan, and Sandra will be going down to the planet." he will push her back a little as to how their love for each other had grown so much since he had first met her many years ago for when she was first married to someone else.
"Why don't you take a medical staff to check for anything out of the ordinary?" she tells him as he needs to decide on this course of action.
"Okay, take yourself, Doctor Dandridge, and two technicians to take the samples," he explained with trying to stay calm, cool, and collective.
She kisses him like she had since the past years on Moonbase Alpha. This is probably going to be the only chance to check out the planet before it moves away. She knew that her husband didn't wish to get everyone's hopes up.
"Let me go change with calling Sickbay letting them know. You have better let Command Center know with the change as well John?" she didn't wish to be too pushy with the order.
"Sure." he alluded to her by calling Command Center while he watched her leave into the sleeping quarters to change her clothing.
With everyone taking the expanded travel tube with the engineers working on a new section. Hopefully, if this planet works out with a vote of course on who wishes to go live on the planet as they did with two other planets, during the past two-plus years.
Maya, Helena, and Sandra were nervous about this flight to a new rogue planet. Helena will be asked Maya whether or not she is able to sense anything.
"There is nothing at all Helena for which is strange enough even for me." she was miff for the most part...
"Remember when we land on the planet to not touch anything or even drink?" Helena will say with the male members listening contently as well. Even though Doctor Dandridge was more worried about airborne viruses that can enter the pores of a human body...
The travel pod stopped them off at the entrance of the shuttle with Alan to be piloting it with his orders from Commander Koenig.
As the pressurization doors opened to let all inside the shuttle settle in with the equipment, breathing tubes, and most of all strapping themselves into their seats. Tony will be helping Alan with being the co-pilot in case of trouble.
Maya had closed her eyes as her head started to develop a headache with Doctor Russell give Maya something for the headache.
"Thanks, how did you know?" she will say to her with everyone being given the order the shuttle was taking odd with orders from the Command Center.
"I figure as much with all of the recent stress with you and with taking care of Andre and the female child as well." Doctor Russell hesitated as much she can without giving herself away with Maya finding out that she is pregnant with a third child only finding out yesterday.
She hadn't had the chance to tell Tony the good news. She exhales as the shuttle takes off with Sandra opening her eyes as well knowing that her own husband Alan is the best pilot going for Moonbase Alpha.
