"School's out, and we've graduated from our senior year without any monster interactions," Kirby said.

"And we'll have to go our own separate ways once we head off to college," Hayley said.

"And leave the Troop," Jake said sulkily.

"The last two years of fighting alongside you guys were fun, and the Lakewood Troop became stronger with all of us on the team," Cadence said. "But I know that the next Troop will be just as strong as you guys."

"You're not going to college?" Kirby asked Cadence.

"No," she said. "I have to remain here to help stop monsters from destroying Lakewood."

"Maybe we should do something together over the summer to remind us of the good old days hunting monsters," Jake said.

"That sounds like a good idea," Hayley said.

"But what should we do?" Cadence asked.

The alarm suddenly went off.

"You can decide on what you want to do over the summer later," Mr. Stockley said walking in. "We've got monster activity."

Mr. Stockley pulled up the activity level on the Troop Grid to identify the monster; it was a Woods Stalker.

"Be careful when dealing with a woods stalker," he said. "They are elusive and stealthy with jaws strong enough to crush a whole tree in half."

"Maybe fighting this monster could help us decide on what we want to do," Jake said.

"Only one way to find out," Kirby said.

The team suited up with their weapons, portable Troop Grids, snark box, and battle cruisers.

They made their way to the forest where they found trees pushed down and rocks and stumps pulled out of the ground.

"Stay alert," Cadence said. "Woods stalkers can come out of nowhere at any second."

The team heard a snap of a twig behind them; they turn around fast with their weapons armed, but it was just a squirrel.

The squirrel took off, but when they turned back around, the woods stalker was standing there.

It looked like a big gray bull with a tail and head like a dinosaur with horns, spikes running down its back, and hooves for feet.

It roared and came charging toward the team. Jake fired the blaster at it; the blast bounced off its skin.

"Right, woods stalkers have impenetrable hides," Jake said.

"Stand back," Cadence said. She transformed into her blood thrasher form and grabbed its horns.

She threw it down like a rodeo bull, but it tossed her at a tree.

"Kirby!" Hayley shouted. "Get the immobilizing net launcher."

"Give me a second," he said trying to get it ready.

The woods stalker charged a second time.

"Guess he doesn't like to wait," Jake said.

Just then, a portal opened from behind the monster.

"Hey, over here," a voice came from the portal.

The monster skidded and turned its head.

A teenage boy with purple hair and weird silver clothes was standing in front of the portal. "Come and get me."

The monster changed direction and came charging towards the boy.

He jumped out of the way, and the woods stalker charged through the portal.

The portal then closed behind the monster.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked, running towards the boy and helping him up.

"Yes," he said.

"Hey, can you look at this for a second." Hayley said putting in her ear plugs.

She pulled out the snark box and opened it up.

The snark lit up its eyes and sang its loud melody.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked again.

"Yeah," the boy said again. "But who are you people?"

"We're just high school graduates doing some final mime club practice together out here," Hayley answered.

The boy then gave a weird look. "Seriously, is mime club the best cover story you can do for hunting monsters."

The others looked surprised, so they snarked him again.

"You couldn't've gone with you were rehearsing for a final play or a secret act group or something," the boy said, grinning.

"Why isn't it working?" Jake asked.

"I'm immune to the snark's power," the boy said.

"How are you immune to it?" Kirby asked. "And how do you know it's called a snark?"

"Because I'm the one who created it," the boy said.
