New story time! Finally. I have to say this is inspired by the Carnage movie that just came out, I realize that Venom has been done more than once and that Spiderman has dealt with such a situation before but this is my take on it! Forget everything you know about the past Venom movies as this will strictly be based off my own story-verse.
This is of course Tom Holland's Spiderman version in this story- I couldn't resist putting this scenario in my own twisted angsty story realm. Let me know what you think!
Ned couldn't think of a lot of things that were worse than being in AP Biology class at 8AM on a frigid Monday morning. He couldn't even space out to the scenery outside of the classroom windows as the depressing sight of dead trees drooping under the weight of the sleet that was currently coming down was not helping at all. The students around him seemed to mimic the weather, it looked as if half the class was struggling to hold their eyes open.
Their teacher of course was the complete opposite, Mr. Harrington's hands visibly shook as he wrote the new lesson plan of the day on the white board for the class to copy down into their notebooks. Ned guessed he must have been three cups of coffee in by now, the guy seemed to only live off espresso and the nearest vending machine junk food while teaching class all day.
Normally Ned would be just as tired as his fellow classmates but something was not sitting right, it was beginning to make him physically ill. He knew why, as soon as he got the text from Peter at 7AM saying he would probably be late to class Ned knew something was wrong. Peter was hardly ever late but it seemed like every time he was it was always bad.
The clock lazily counted on despite Ned's concerns, no text messages came, nothing. It was maddening to watch the second hand tick by and not know if his friend was alright or not. Things seemed too quiet, he looked around to find the class either asleep or in a trance as Mr. Harrington started the boring Biology video they would be forced to watch for the rest of class. "I want ten facts written on a sheet and turned in by the end of class, no exceptions!"
An audible groan from the class but that was all, about 15 minutes into the mundane clips of the same neutral tone voice spewing information at too fast of a rate- Ned felt his own eyes dropping down, he put his head in his hands and was almost completely asleep when the sound of the classroom door bursting open woke him and everyone else up.
The slam of the door echoed throughout the classroom, Flash was first to snap out of the sudden shock, "Nice Job Parker, first day opening a freakin' door?"
Ned watched as Peter visibly seemed confused at his own strength of opening the door, he closed the door slowly and made his way over to sit at his desk to the left of Ned.
Everyone soon fell back into the trance they were originally in as Ned waited for an opportunity to whisper to Peter.
Much to his surprise, the normally introverted Peter Parker looked over at him, the same confused look Ned had noted when he had first entered the room on his face. "Ned, I think I should have called ."
Ned's stomach dropped as Peter said this nonchalantly, he dipped down and signaled for Peter to come close across the aisle, "Dude...keep it down! People are going to hear you- wha- what is wrong? What happened?"
Upon further inspection of his friend, Ned saw just how messed up Peter looked, luckily the dim lighting in the class room at the moment was hiding most of the details but up close it was obvious. Peter looked like shit. His eyes looked glazed over, almost drunken, his fingertips had traces of blood on them and underneath his nails, and his face- it was bruised and had blood smeared around from where Peter must have tried to wipe it all away quickly. First period was half way finished and once the lights came on there was going to be no hiding this mess. They needed to get out of here- now.
There was no smooth way to do this, Ned was at a loss and starting to panic- Peters coughing brought him out of his anxious haze though.
"Jesus Parker, cover your mouth at least!"
Peter covered his mouth quickly at Flashes comment and soon was doubled over, the coughing was getting worse.
Ned took his shot, " Um- Mr. Harrington! Can I help Peter get to the nurse? He told me earlier he has the flu but didn't want to miss class today."
The coffee ridden teacher made a face and nodded, "Yes, yes, go! And guys- if you are sick don't come to school! That's just rude to everyone else."
Flash and his friend threw dirty looks as Ned all but hauled Peter out of the class room, he knew they would get shit for this later but all that mattered now was getting somewhere private and figuring out what was happening.
As soon as the classroom door was shut and the two were out in the empty hallway, Peter legs gave out forcing Ned to pick him up as his coughing somehow worsened.
Ned rushed to the gyms locker room knowing that gym classes didn't start until after lunchtime. He ended up letting Peter sit on top of one of the gymnastic mats and leaning against the wall behind him.
Peters coughs subsided enough for him to take a drink as Ned offered him a small cup of water. As he reached for the cup Ned's eyes widened, "shit...Peter, your hand! Did you just cough all that up?!"
Peter didn't listen as he chugged the water and accidentally dropped the cup. He could hardly grip anything anymore, the now blood stained cup lay forgotten on the ground as Ned grabbed Peter by his shoulders.
"What happened?"
"Fought...somebody...was fighting...then I was at school? I don't know what is a dream-" Peter looked up in fear at Ned, "is this a dream?! I can't anymore- I-" Sure enough as Peters adrenaline rose, so did the onset of another coughing episode.
Ned felt sick as he sent an emergency signal from his phone to ping his location for Tony to follow. He had been taught this protocol specifically, first ping a location then call and give details"Ok, ok, calm. Calm. You're the guy in the chair, you got this- I'm calling Mr. Stark Peter, hold on!"
"N-NO! No, no you cant! This isn't right, I need to go-" Amongst his coughing up alarming amounts of blood and seemingly drunken state of physical ability Peter did somehow topple Ned over to get to the exit of the gymnasium.
"Peter no!" Ned grabbed a hold of Peters arm as he tried to push against the emergency exit that would set off every fire alarm in the school. "Just stay calm...Tony can help us please-"
"Tony is the one! He did this, Ned, I think he is trying to kill me!"
Ned froze, "What? No, no, come on, just sit, ok? I wont call him. I just want to talk."
This seemed to calm Peter down as he let himself slump against the wall and fall to the floor. "ok...ok...I trust you."
"Its ok, just tell me what I need to do to help dude, do you remember who you were fighting?"
Peters face twisted in a mix of pain and focus as he brought his hands up to his eyes, clearly trying to rub out whatever delusion he felt. "I-don't know Ned, it was, i think it was more than one? I wasn't in my suit, didn't have time to put it on. At this point peter looked down at his forearm and noticed a single blood stain, a dot of it along with a puncture in his shirt. He sighed, "I really liked this sweater though..."
Ned looked down at Peter's sweater as the comment came out of nowhere. A clear needle prick right there on his sleeve. "Shit dude, I think you are like, drugged or something!" Ned found himself holding Peter into a sitting position by pinning his shoulders to the wall behind the drugged teen, "I think you need to stay up, ok?"
When no response came, Ned looked down to see Peters eyes shut in pain, his whole demeanor began shaking, tears started pouring. "God, I am so sorry May. I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"
Before Ned could think to console him, The gym doors burst open- somehow not triggering the school alarms. An iron man suit ran through, a split second later Tony Stark was emerging as the suits front opened. The cold suits demeanor was replaced by a raggedy clothed Stark whose eyes held enough concern to assure Ned that he was not behind this whatsoever like Peter had delusionally said. "What happened?"
That was a good question- one Ned could barley understand himself even after trying to get Peter to explain. Ned focused, couldn't freak out and ramble- just state the facts. That's it. "He cant really remember a lot, said he was fighting someone then he ended up at school- but there is a blood stain on his shirt- it looks like he got stuck by a needle. H-he keeps coughing up blood and he has tried to run away a few times in the hour he has been here. He showed up to class late- I should have known something bad happened- I'm sorry..."
"You did good, at least he didn't run away, you kept him safe. I'm going to help him,ok?"
Ned would have been more assured by the comfort if it weren't for Tony's confused eyes looking Peter over. "Alright kid, ready for a field trip?"
Even though Tony had entered the gym and been talking- Peter only now seemed to realize he was present. Despite the delayed realization- the flinch of fear once he saw Tony was instant.
"No! No, I'm sorry- I'm sorry I didn't mean to!" Peter screamed and kicked as Tony tried to console him.
Ned ran a hand over his own face, "he has been blaming you for doing this to him since I asked what happened."
It was a hopeless cause as Peter continued to attempt escaping out of Tony and Ned's grip. Time was valuable, it was evident some kind of drug was in Peters system but the lack of information was critical. They needed to get this figured out quickly. And so, without any hesitation Tony got back into the suit and picked Peter up, the flailing teen made it difficult, Tony ended up having to hold Peter tightly as he took off flying. He knew there would be some bad bruising even with spider-man's healing abilities- but it was better than falling twenty stories as they flew towards the tower.
Tony called Bruce from his suit, "I've got Peter, not sure whats wrong with the kid. Looks like he got drugged but by what i have no freakin' clue- he is fighting me as I fly so we are going to need restraints put on the medical bed."
Bruce's response was calm and collected making Tony feel slightly more at ease. "I'll get everything prepped, we'll be ready."
Despite Peters flailing, Tony did make it to the tower without much trouble. It seemed Peter's strength was fading in and out, as if he was forgetting how to use it at times. All he was managing to mutter when they finally had arrived was "help"- this made Tony's skin crawl.
When they landed it didn't take long for the medical team to take over, Peter was painstakingly strapped down to the bed and soon blacked out all together- the sudden loss of consciousness caused the medical machines he was hooked to, to go ballistic with warnings. You didn't need a medical license to know something was very wrong as the teen went limp.
Tony looked up from his spot next to Peter, "What the hell happened?"
Banner looked at Tony slowly as he turned away from the monitors, that comforting voice he had possessed only moments earlier was now completely gone. "Tony- his DNA is taking on a separate mutation."
TBC... Thoughts?
