People are walking by a large tree planted in the middle of a city plaza.
"This tree is the oldest tree in all of Elmroot City and has been around for generations, even before the city existed. But it isn't an ordinary tree. Deep through its knothole, and you'll find it houses an entire dimension..."
Through the tree's knothole, a large village is seen, with a glittering sky, as people with glowing wings fly around, "This is the Realm of Sprites."
Farya, a female sprite with long black hair, wearing a pink dress, flies down to an empty field, several feet behind another sprite, Elder Wisa, an older male sprite with a long white beard and wearing a gray gown.
"Grandfather, grandfather," Farya excitedly says. "I want to show you how much my powers have grown. You wouldn't believe how high I can fly now."
Elder Wisa turns to face his granddaughter, "I'm so happy for you, Farya, but unfortunately, my focus is elsewhere."
"Is something wrong, grandfather?" Farya asks.
"It's the mystical veil," Elder Wisa starts, before turning back to look up at the glittering sky. "The mystical veil surrounds the Realm of Sprites, but it also separates our home from the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness."
"Yes, grandfather," Farya approaches Elder Wisa. "The mystical veil separates all three realms, so what worries you?"
"I could sense something weakening the mystical veil," Elder Wisa explains. "This worries me greatly."
Farya looks up at the sky, to see it glows slightly, "What could weaken the mystical veil?" She turns to see a similar glow in the center of the Realm of Sprites. "Grandfather, look!"
Elder Wisa turns to see the glow, "That's the Power Crystals."
Elder Wisa flies off toward the center of the Realm of Sprites, before Farya follows after him.
"In the Crystal Clear, pt. 1"
Elder Wisa and Farya land at the outside of a temple, before entering to find a large chamber, with five rectangular crystals, one red, one pink, one blue, one green, and one yellow, all embedded into a wall, in a circle with the red crystal at the center. And at the center of the Crystal Chamber is another female sprite, with short blond hair and wearing a black dress, standing next to a large bag.
"Mina!" Elder Wisa announces. "What are you doing here? You were banished for studying the dark arts."
Mina turns to face Elder Wisa and Farya, "I'm done listening to you, old man Wisa." She turns to the crystals. "I will now take what I want, the Power Crystals."
"No!" Elder Wisa moves forward.
Mina turns and fires a dark blast at Elder Wisa, knocking him onto his back.
"Grandfather!" Farya hurries to Elder Wisa's side, holding onto his hand.
"I-I'm sensing a great darkness is making its way through the mystical veil…" Elder Wisa starts.
"Grandfather, save your strength," Farya says.
"No, I know what I must do," Elder Wisa holds out his free hand, as it gives a bright glow. "Galwit Neramax… Motro!"
Mina turns back to the Power Crystals, as they glow, pop out of the wall, and then turn to bright lights that fly out of the Crystal Chamber and toward the sky.
Mina watches as the Power Crystals leave, "What have you done?!"
"I've sent them to the Realm of Light… to find those who will use them to defend against the darkness," Elder Wisa explains.
"You are just delaying the inevitable," Mina turns to Elder Wisa and Farya, before she shoves her hands up, as dark energy flies from her hands and up to the sky above the Realm of Sprites, with the sky slowly turning dark.
"What are you doing?!" Farya asks.
Mina lowers her arms, "I will find the Power Crystals, while my barrier keeps all of you trapped forever more inside the Realm of Sprites."
Mina picks up the bag, which is clearly heavy, before she manages to fly off, as she seemingly turns into a dark orb and flies into the slowly darkening sky, disappearing.
"This can't be happening…" Farya says.
"Farya, y-you must go to the Ream of Light as well," Elder Wisa tells her.
"Grandfather, I can't leave you, not in your current state," Farya says.
"You must go, my dear, you must guide the Power Crystals' chosen warriors," Elder Wisa says, before he places a hand on hers. "I believe in you."
Farya wipes some tears out of her eyes, nods her hand, and then releases Elder Wisa's hand. Farya stands up, turns around, levitates slightly with her wings, before flying off, seemingly turns into a pink orb and flies up at the darkening sky, disappearing into it, before the entire sky turns black.
Five color lights fly out of the tree's knothole, fly up into the sky and then split off in different directions.
Rory, an Asian American with short dark hair, is seated on a bench across the street from a fire department, and is drawing a fire truck on his drawing pad, while looking at a fire truck sitting in the fire department's open garage.
Rory looks back down at his drawing, unaware of the red beam flying down to the fire truck. Then the red Power Crystal appears on the fire truck's hood, before disappearing into it.
Patricia, a Causican woman with long blonde hair, is holding up her smartphone as she is recording herself, "Welcome to another episode of 'Pat Around the City', the vlog where, I, Patricia, takes a look around the ins and outs of Rimestone City. Today, I'm watching the skies for the mayor's new helicopter, maybe even getting her to wave at us, and…"
A loud noise gets Patricia's attention, before she looks away, "Oh, perfect timing." Patricia moves her smartphone to see the helicopter flying in the distance, "We're too far away to see inside, unfortunate, but if I'm guessing, the mayor is on her way to the newly opening Historical Culture Center."
Patricia holds down her phone and presses the screen, "That should do for some views, not to mention free publicity."
Patricia starts to walk away, unaware of a pink beam flying to the helicopter. Then the pink Power Crystal appears on the side of the helicopter, before disappearing into it.
Eddie, a Hispanic young man, is running across a rooftop, before jumping off the side of an air conditioner unit, flips through the air and lands on another rooftop.
Eddie slows to a stop, before pulling a water bottle out of his pocket and takes a drink, as a jet flies overhead. At that moment, a blue beam flies to the jet, with the blue Power Crystal appearing on the jet's wing, before disappearing into it.
In a garage, a red car, mostly covered by a garp, is sitting, with someone under the car, working on it.
"And that should… do it," Kellie, a Hispanic young woman, says, before pulling herself out from under the car with a wrench.
Kellie stands up, seats the wrench on a tool bench, grabs a towel and starts to wipe her hands, "Alright, it's almost done." She then takes a look at her hand. "I better go and clean up."
Kellie starts to walk out of the garage, as a green beam flies to the car, with the green Power Crystal appearing on the car's hood and disappearing into it.
Richard, an African American young man, is seated on a bench next to a wire fence, while typing on a laptop. On the laptop's screen is the wireframe image of a shovel truck. Richard looks up, at the construction site on the other side of the fence where he sees a shovel truck.
"Just a little more coding, and this video game code should be done…" Richard says, before looking at his screen. "Richard Masters, video game creator? Why not."
A yellow beam flies to the shovel truck, with the yellow Power Crystal appearing on the side of the truck, before disappearing into it.
Richard then notices his watch, "Oh, I didn't realize it was getting so late." He closes his laptop and starts to hurry off. "I better go if I'm gonna meet with the others."
Back at the tree, a pink orb flies out of its knothole, before flying onto the edge of a nearby roof, with the pink orb glows and becomes Farya.
Farya looks down to see all the people walking around, before she looks around, "So this is the Realm of Light? It's so… crowded…" She looks down slightly. "I need to find the Power Crystals' chosen warriors." She then flies off. "Before it's too late."
Mina flies out of a swirling portal to find herself in the Dark Waste, a darkened location with a mist filled ground and surrounded by junks of different shapes and sizes.
"And I'm back," Mina says to herself.
"And you better have a good reason as to why you don't possess the Power Crystals!" Step in front of Mina is Darklipse, a warrior in mostly black with some gold highlights armor and a helmet with an eclipse design.
"D-Darklipse!" Mina stops in midair, before pulling slightly on the heavy bag she is carrying. "E-Elder Wisa sent the Power Crystals into the Realm of Light. But I did seal off the Realm of Sprites, so no one will be able to interfere with us, I mean, you."
"And that should please me?!" Darklipse clenches a fist.
"Why are you surprised?" Darklipse turns to see Royatte, a human-looking woman, wearing a blue uniform, with a cape, crow-like ornaments on her shoulders, and a blue and silver headdress. "This sprite seemed born to fail."
"But I didn't fail," Mina says, before she starts to hold up the bag. "I did got…"
"So Darklipse," Maskister, a monster in a red and black outfit, with a large two-head demonic-like mask covering the top half of his head, and bat-like wings on his shoulders, approaches the group. "What is the plan now?"
Darklipse looks away from Maskister.
At the Elmroot Historical Culture Center, a large, white marble building, Rory, Patricia, Eddie, and Kellie are standing among a crowd, with Patricia holding up her smartphone, filming the front of the crowd, as Richard approaches them.
"You're late," Kellie says, with a grin.
"Considering you're usually the late one, are you one to talk?" Richard asks.
"To be fair, you did arrive just before Richard," Rory adds, with the five friends laughing.
They then notice Mayor Elica Taylors, who stands in front of the crowd, with security on both sides of her, "Thank you everyone for coming. As I said during my mayoral campaign, both the history and multi cultures of Elmroot City is very important to me, so it was my pleasure to sign the papers that allow the Elmroot Historical Culture Center to exist. As well as, getting Mr. Kazu Ishinomori to run and manage the Culture Center."
Mayor Taylors points to the side at Kazu, an elderly Asian man, who waves at the crowd, with Rory returning the wave.
"Now, I will not bore you all with one of my infamous long winded speeches," Mayor Taylors continues, with small chuckle follows. "I'll just say, welcome and please enjoy seeing our city's rich history. Thank you."
Mayor Taylors walks over to Kazu, as the crowd starts to disperse.
Patricia holds down her phone, presses the screen, and looks at it, as her and friends start to walk forward.
"Kazu is an old family friend, right, Rory?" Eddie asks.
"He is, I hope to talk with him later, although he might be busy with this being the center's first day," Rory says.
Patricia looks up from her phone, "Oh, look at that." Patricia runs ahead to see a large display case, full of old gem shards. "It's a bunch of gem shards that have been found in and around the city for generations."
Kellie walks over, "I always thought you didn't like jewel, Patricia."
"I just found them to be fancistating, Kellie," Patricia looks over to her friend, before looking back at the display case. "Although, I don't know why."
Outside, Farya flies to a stop and hovers in the air, looking at the Culture Center, "I feel drawn here, but I don't see the Power Crystals anywhere." She flies down. "Perhaps their chosen warriors are here."
A man is opening the front door to enter, but didn't notice the pink orb that flies in after him.
In the Dark Waste, a swirling portal shows Farya flying down, before a pink orb flies through the Culture Center's opened door.
"Now, what did you say about trapping all sprites?" Royatte turns away from the swirling portal.
"It shouldn't be possible," Mina says, hovering in midair.
"This sprite could be the key to find the Power Crystals," Darklipse takes a step forward, before turning to Royatte. "Take your Sludgemen and capture her, Royatte."
Royatte starts to walk away, "Finally, some action."
Back at the Culture Center, Rory, Kellie, Eddie, Patricia, and Richard are walking through the center.
"We should check out the dining hall, I'm getting hungry," Kellie says.
"Sounds good," Rory agrees.
Suddenly, a large swirling portal appears, with Royatte and a group of Sludgemen, strange creatures with swirling-like faces and holding staffs with a large claw-like end.
"Go on, my Sludgemen, cause as much havoc as you desire," Royatte says, before the Sludgemen charges ahead.
"Look!" Richard calls out, as the Sludgemen spread out in the halls.
A Sludgeman swings its staff, with a woman falling down in panic. Another Sludgeman swings its staff at a display case, shattering the glass and spreading some dinosaur fossils. A third Sludgeman swings its staff at two people, who are running away, while a fourth Sludgeman runs out of an opened room, knocking over a colonial soldier uniform display.
"C'mon, we need to do something," Rory says, before the five friends run ahead.
The woman continues to back away from the Sludgeman, with Rory runs over, grabs the Sludgeman's staff and holds it back.
Rory looks over his shoulder at the woman, "Hurry, run!"
The woman gets up and runs away, with Rory holding down the Sludgeman, before he knees the Sludgeman in the side and then throws the Sludgeman to the side.
A Sludgeman picks up a dinosaur head fossil, looking at it.
"Hey, look don't touch," Patricia says, as she runs over and kicks the Sludgeman in the side, before catching the fossil.
Patricia then spins away from a Sludgeman's staff strike, then spins back to dodge another strike, before placing the fossil back on the display. She then ducks under a third staff strike and kicks the Sludgeman in the abdomen.
Eddie flips a couple times, before he flips over a Sludgeman as it stabs forward with its staff. Eddie elbows the Sludgeman in the back, before he flips to dodge another Sludgeman's staff strike.
Kellie is being chased by a Sludgeman toward a column, before she grabs the column, swings herself around and kicks the Sludgeman. She then flips to the side to dodge another Sludgeman's staff, before kicking its staff away.
Richard catches one Sludgeman's staff, before catching another Sludgeman's staff, then they force him back a couple steps. Richard lets go of the staffs and ducks, with the two Sludgemen accidentally striking each other. Richard stands back up.
Farya flies over a corner, watching the scene, "What are those things? Could they be from the Realm of Darkness?"
Royatte walks over to the side, before noticing Farya hovering down the hall, she smiles and runs over, "There you are."
Farya continues to watch, when she looks over to the side and sees Royatte jump at her. Farya flies to the side, with Royatte failing to catch her, before watching the sprite.
Kellie, standing next to Richard, turns, "Hey, look."
Richard turns to see Royatte swatting at a pink orb, as it flies around, "What is that? A firefly?"
"Whatever it is, it's in trouble," Kellie says, before she and Richard run ahead.
Royatte swats at the pink orb, with it flies away, "I'll get you this time."
"Guess again," Richard says, as he and Kellie launch jump kicks.
Royatte is knocked back several steps.
Richard and Kellie land, as Rory, Patricia, and Eddie walk over, and the pink orb flies over to them.
"Thank you very much," Farya says to them.
"Don't… mention it," Richard says, as he tilts his head.
"What are you?" Eddie asks her.
Royatte starts to return to her feet, "Sludgemen, to me!"
"We can talk later, we need to go," Farya says, before seemingly turning into a pink orb and flying away.
"Good point," Rory says, before he and his friends follow after the pink orb.
The Sludgemen are gathering around Royatte, "Go on! After them!"
The Sludgemen start to run past Royatte.
After a few moments, the five friends and the pink orb are running through a junkyard, before several Sludgemen run out in front of them, with the friends and pink orb stopping, and more Sludgemen appearing behind them.
"Look like we have no choice, but to fight," Rory says, with his friends nodding their heads and running to either side.
Eddie flips to the side, roundhouse kicks a Sludgeman's staff, before back elbows a Sludgeman. Then a Sludgeman grabs Eddie's arm and pulls him to the side, before another kicks him in the abdomen.
Patricia backflips, dodging a Sludgeman's staff strike, before she grabs it and pulls the Sludgeman to the side, knocking over another Sludgeman. Suddenly, a third Sludgeman shoulder charges her in the back, knocking Patricia forward.
Richard grabs a tire as he spins, before swinging it back and forth, and spins again, keeping a couple Sludgemen away from him. Then a Sludgeman grabs the tire and uses it to pull Richard into a spin, before the Sludgeman lets go, with Richard knocked back.
Kellie runs ahead, before sliding, then tripping a Sludgeman. Kellie then launches a roundhouse kick, but two Sludgemen catch her, spin her around, then throw her to the side.
Rory falls onto his back, then flips back onto his feet and spin kicks a Sludgeman, before another Sludgeman swings its staff, forcing Rory into a spin backward.
At that moment, Kellie falls onto the ground next to Rory, who helps her up, as Eddie is forced back to them, followed by Patricia and Richard back up to their friends.
The five friends look ahead as the large group of Sludgemen slowly approach them.
"Okay, does anyone have a new plan?" Kellie asks.
"I'm open to suggestions," Rory says, as they take fighting stances.
At the time, Farya is watching them, while flying above them.
The five friends take fighting stances with the approaching Sludgemen.
The jet flies through the air, when a blue beam shoots out of it.
The helicopter flies through the air, when a pink beam shoots out of it.
The shovel truck is sitting at the construction site, when a yellow beam shoots out of it.
Kellie's car is sitting in her garage, under its sheet, when a green beam shoots out of it.
The fire truck is sitting in the fire department's garage, when a red beam shoots out of it.
The Sludgemen continue to approach the five friends, when suddenly the five colored beams fly around, with the Sludgemen backing off, as the five friends watch the flying beams.
Suddenly, five tires fly into the air and fly around with the beams, before each of the tires merge with a beam in a flash of light, becoming Crystal Wheel Morphers, small tire-like devices, then flying onto the five friends' wrists, with a wristband appearing at the same instance.
At that moment, the five friends' bodies start to glow different colors, as they look at themselves, before they are engulf in bright color lights, with Rory morph into Red Crystal Ranger, Patricia morphs into Pink Crystal Ranger, Eddie morphs into Blue Crystal Ranger, Kellie morphs into Green Crystal Ranger, and Richard morph into Yellow Crystal Ranger.
The newly morphed Rangers continue to look at themselves.
"We're Power Rangers?" Green Crystal Ranger realizes.
"This is incredible," Red Crystal Ranger adds.
Farya continues to watch from above, "They are the Power Crystals' chosen warriors?"
The Sludgemen watch them for a couple more seconds, before readying their staffs.
"Looks like we got a new plan," Yellow Crystal Ranger says.
"Not what I had in mind, but it will do," Green Crystal Ranger says.
"Then let's do this," Red Crystal Ranger nods his head.
The five Crystal Rangers charge ahead, with the Sludgemen also charging.
Blue Crystal Ranger side flips over a Sludgeman's staff strike, before grabbing the staff, pulls the Sludgeman to the side, and kicks it twice in the side. He then swings with the staff, knocking the Sludgeman back, as he spins around and drops the staff.
After he finishes spinning, Blue Crystal Ranger holds up a blue and white sword, "Awesome, these powers come with a Crystal Blade."
Blue Crystal Ranger starts to run ahead, using the Crystal Blade to strike away a Sludgeman's staff, then strike away another's, before spins around and strikes both Sludgeman. He then slides ahead and strikes a third Sludgeman.
Pink Crystal Ranger jump kicks a Sludgeman, knocking it down, as she's holding a blue and white blaster, with a container-like top on the blaster.
She turns and holds up her blaster, "Not to mention Disc Shooters."
Pink Crystal Ranger loads a couple discs into the top of her Disc Shooter, before firing it, blasting a couple Sludgemen, including launching a tire off its pile and towards her. She spin kicks the tire, sending it flying to the side and knocks a Sludgeman off its feet.
Yellow Crystal Ranger walks onto the top of a car frame, before firing his Disc Shooter, blasting a Sludgeman and knocking it back. Two Sludgemen strike with their staffs at Yellow Crystal Ranger's feet, but he back flips off the car frame to dodge. He blasts one of the Sludgeman, grabs the other's staff, pulls it to the side and back kicks it.
Green Crystal Ranger spins around, with a Crystal Blade, dodging a Sludgeman's staff. She then uses her Crystal Blade in a reverse grip to block a Sludgeman's staff, before pushing it to the side, striking the Sludgeman as she passes. She then spins around again, striking two more Sludgemen.
Red Crystal Ranger rolls ahead, grabs a Sludgeman's arm, spins it and strikes it in the back, before spins away to dodge a Sludgeman's staff stab. Red Crystal Ranger then slams down a truck's hood, slamming it down on the staff, getting it stuck. Red Crystal Ranger strikes at the Sludgeman, before roundhouse kicks another Sludgemen.
Suddenly, explosions go off around Red Crystal Ranger, knocking him off his feet. He looks up to see Darklipse slowly approaching.
"You will hand over the Power Crystals at once," Darklipse says.
Red Crystal Ranger pushes himself onto his feet, "I don't know what you're talking about. But I have a feeling, if you want it, then it can't be for a good reason."
"Then I will take them," Darklipse holds out his sword. "By force!"
Darklipse charges and swings his sword, with Red Crystal Ranger blocks with his Crystal Blade. The two continue to collide with their weapons, before Darklipse uses his sword to hold down the Crystal Blade. Darklipse then shoulder charges Red Crystal Ranger, before striking him twice and sending him flying backward.
Red Crystal Ranger lands hard on his back, as he grips his shoulder, before seeing Darklipse's sword aimed at him.
"Congratulations, you just have the shortest Power Ranger career," Darklipse says.
Darklipse then raises his sword and starts to bring it down, toward the fallen Ranger.
