Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Black Lagoon. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Black Lagoon; Rei Hiroe and a few others do.
"This mission should be the last." He stated which caused him to sigh and rub at his eyes.
He knew it wouldn't be the last mission for her. She had only 3 loves.
Her men, war… And him, and she knew that if she was on the battlefield? She'd have her men to take care of.
"You don't have to care for me." She stated to which he chuckled and leaned on the wall.
"War isn't your only love." He stated to which she smiled as slightly as she could. "You know there's more then just me to come back to… I don't know what they want over there." He stated and brushed off his uniform.
She adjusted her rifle which clicked against her shoulder. It was one of the only few signs that they were alone as nobody objected to the silence.
"They want blood…" She stated to which he chuckled with amusement. "We all want blood, it's the only thing that keeps soldiers like us alive on the battlefield." She added to which he could only pull a small smirk.
"That wasn't what kept me alive this long and you know it." He stated and brushed off his shoulder. "The only reason you can claim that is because we met on the battlefield." He added and started to walk away.
There was little he could do to keep her from her mission. He turned to look over his shoulder.
"Andros…" She started to say before Andros turned to look over his shoulder at her. "They wont let us be happy. Soldiers don't get the happy endings you seem to think they are." She stated to which he walked over to her.
"You should know better than I do that we're nobodies to them." Andros stated and wrapped his arms around her. "Even as a general? They do not care… If we were to walk away from this? The only thing they would miss is your combat skills… And I know that you don't fight for them." Andros stated and gestured around them with amusement.
Andros looked her in the eye. He knew she'd be fighting hell itself on the battlefield. She was a soldier, he an officer. His time had come and gone on the battlefield.
"They also know I don't fight for them." She stated and started to walk away. "But you cant fight for me anymore then you can fight for yourself." She added and walked away.
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him. She wrapped her arms around him and smashed her lips to his.
Andros almost didn't want to leave for the command center. if he didn't, however? He knew he'd never let her go on the mission. Andros barely pulled himself away.
"You have to come back… If you don't?" Andros questioned her. "Then their kill her… I cant let them hurt her, and I cant protect her alone." Andros stated to her.
She knew very well that if she didn't come home? She'd be killing part of herself… It was something that she couldn't forgive herself for.
"If I do?" She questioned to which Andros hummed. "Then we have to leave… It won't be safe here." She stated and turned to leave.
"Your all that's tethering me to this place beyond her." Andros stated which caused the woman to hum.
He knew very well that she would never willingly walk away from the military… The only way to force her to leave? Was to make sure that she had no choice but to leave.
Cruel? Yes, beyond a shadow of a doubt cold and heartless… But to leave her with no choice? It would keep them safe.
Andros knew the woman he loved worshiped combat, and it was only by paper thin strings that she was tempted to wish to walk away from it at all.
But if she didn't walk away? They would be hunted sooner or later.
"There isn't enough time for goodbyes." She stated and left to reach her unit.
"There never seems to be a chance for goodbyes." Andros stated to which there was a slight sigh as he rubbed at his eyes. "Balaika, you will be the death of me one day." Andros stated before he continued to walk away.
Author Notes
Phew. First chapter done! I want to point out that this story will not entirely be following the anime and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show the mission and Andros and Balaika talking and explaining more of their history and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Revy will be 1200 words and so will Andros.
