Chapter 1:
Bienvenue Adventure
Location: Vaniville Town (My new home)
What would have been a nice sleep in was rudely interrupted by a peck on the cheek by not a cute girl, but Mum's Fletchling. I don't even bother with an alarm clock because Pokémon do it for me.
"Calem?" Mum asked. "Are you up? Don't let jet lag get the better of you! Now change out of your pyjamas and see our new hometown!"
"I don't think I'll be going back to sleep after that!" I shouted. But Mum was right; what was the use of staying in bed all day?
I changed into my new clothes. Blue jacket, grey trousers and red bag.
"It's time," I said to myself in the mirror. "Calem Xavier Yvonne, bonjour to your new life in the beautiful Kalos region."
I walked downstairs, where the final boxes that came with us were unpacked.
"Nothing wrong with a simple nudge?" I asked Mum who just so happens to be a celebrity in Rhyhorn racing. Yep. I just so happen to be the child of Rhyhorn Racer Grave Yvonne herself. That's all fine and good and the job pays the bills, but could she at least keep the fame off her only child? Can't I enjoy a sandwich without a paparazzi jumping on us?
"I think that's the last box," Mum said, playfully avoiding my statement. "Okay, would you like to go out and meet the neighbours? They would love to meet you, and they might take you over to Aquacorde Town."
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "Who could that be?" I thought.
I walked over to the door and there were two girls. One has long, blonde hair and wore a grey shirt with a red skirt. The other had black hair with a pink shirt that had black bows on it.
"Okay Shauna, stay calm," the blonde girl said. "Would you happen to be the son of the famous-"
"I'm Calem," I said. I put out my hand. "Nice to meet you."
Serena looked at my black hand.
"Do it," the girl in pink whispered. "It's not every day you get to shake the hand of a celebrity."
I took my hand away. "I'm not a celebrity. I'm Calem. Calem Yvonne." I looked at Mum's prize Rhyhorn, its latest gold medal from the Kanto National on it. "But yes, I am the son of Grace. Just, please don't treat me like someone of fame; treat me like, well, how you would treat your other friends."
"Speaking of friends," the Blonde Girl said. "How would you like to come to Aquacorde Town and meet some? We heard you were coming, so we wanted to give you a welcome present. Excuse our manners. Je m'appelle Serena Yotte. I'm… kinda rich."
"And I'm Shauna Gentille!" the other one said. "I love cute Pokémon! Come on, we got to get you to Aquacorde Town for a region-warming party! It's just down Route 1!"
She pointed to a gate that was open. "Okay, I'll see you there. I'll just ask Mum."
The two nodded, then ran off.
"Of course, you can go!" Mum said. "They want to give you the welcoming of a lifetime. I say take that chance!"
I took a breath and walked over to the gate that led to Route 1.
Location: Route 1
I walked down the paved path, shrubbery on either side of me. I saw a grey Pokémon with long ears, Fletchling flying above me and a man with a black and white Pokémon with a leaf in its mouth walk past me.
"I'm finally here," I thought to myself. "A brand-new world to explore."

The Mega Adventures of Pokémon The Journey: XY
Based on the story by Game Freak.
Location: Aquacorde Town
Aquacorde Town was a town with old style architecture that ran next to a freshwater river. The buildings were reminiscent of fancy homes from 500 years ago.
"Wow," I thought. "You don't get places like this from where I'm from."
"HEEEEY!" Serena shouted. "OVER HERE!"
I ran over to Shauna and Serena, who were sitting with two boys. One had short-orange hair and was wearing a green jumper. The other was slightly larger and was wearing a black shirt with a Vanillite on it.
"Welcome to the Kalos region!" the large boy said. "My name is Tierno Robinet, a budding young dancer. It's so nice to meet you son of Grace the-"
"I'm Calem," I said. I held out my hand once again.
"Sorry," Serena said. "I think he hates his mother."
"I don't!" I said. "Just, see me as who I want to be seen as. Not what I am. My name is Calem Yvonne. And what about you?"
"I'm Trevor Intello!" the orange-haired boy said. "I want to see all the Pokémon in the Kalos region! There are at least 400 from all regions documented to live here, and I want to see em all!"
"I haven't told you my dream!" Shauna said. "I… well, I'll come back to you on that Big C!"
"Hey!" Tierno said. "I think C-Meister works much better!"
"Well, I believe that Lil' C suits him much better."
"Hey hey hey!" I said. "Call me whatever, as long as its not mindless bullying or as 'Derr look it's the son of Rhyhorn Racer Grace.' I really don't mind!"
"Well," Trevor said. "Whatever your dream is, you can't do it without your own Partner Pokémon."
Wait… did he mean?
Trevor got out a glass capsule. Inside were three Pokeballs. "You're giving us Pokémon?" I said.
"Not me!" Tierno said. "My partner Corphish was caught by my Dad."
On the capsule was a letter.
Bonjour new Pokémon Trainers!
My name is Professor Augustine Sycamore, the Professor of the Kalos region. When I heard that the son of Rhyhorn Racer Grace himself was moving to the Kalos region, I just had to set him out on a journey. I've also provided a Pokémon to my friends Serena and Shauna, all caught by Trevor himself. Please choose between all of you and no arguments; these Pokémon will be your best friends!
Prof. Sycamore.
P.S. I also included a Pokédex for all of you in the package.
Trevor got out a brown package. "I've already got mine to scan the Pokémon I caught for you." Trevor unwrapped the package to reveal four red tablets.
"Oh wow!" I said. "Can I have it now?"
"Let's choose our Pokémon first!" Shauna said. "I can't wait to meet our cute friends!"
Trevor opened the glass capsule. "Choose wisely," he said.
I scanned the Pokéballs. Once I had chosen, there was no going back.
"I'll pick… that one," I said, pointing to the one of the far left. I took it. "Okay then. My new friend is…"
What I summoned was a brown Pokémon with a green helmet-like fur covering on its head. I had no idea what it was.
"This might help," Trevor said, handing me a Pokédex. So, I scanned it.
Chespin (Marrisson)
#001 (Central)
Grass Type
Spiny Nut Pokémon
0.4 m (1'04")
9 kg (19.8 lbs)
The quills on its head are usually soft. When it flexes them, the points become so hard and sharp they can pierce rock.
"A Grass Type aye? Welcome to the team! We're going to be such a strong duo!"
Chespin smiled back. I hadn't seen the other two yet, but I already knew that I had made the right choice.
"My turn next," Serena said. "I'll go the one in the middle." She picked up the Pokéball and threw it. Out came a yellow Pokémon with orange fur in its ears.
Fennekin (Feunnec)
#004 (Central)
Fire Type
Fox Pokémon
0.4 m (1'04")
9.4 kg (20.7 lbs)
As it walks, it munches on a twig in place of a snack. It intimidates opponents by puffing hot air out of its ears.
"Looks like I have the advantage!" Serena told me.
"Aww… I wanted that one," Shauna said. "Oh well, let's see what lies within the final Pokéball." She picked it out and sent out a blue Pokémon with big-yellow eyes and white foam around its neck.
Froakie (Grenousse)
#007 (Central)
Water Type
Bubble Frog Pokémon
0.3 m (1'00")
7 kg (15.4 lbs)
It protects its skin by covering its body in delicate bubbles. Beneath its happy-go-lucky air, it keeps a watchful eye on its surroundings.
"Okay, I've changed my mind. THIS is the cutest of the bunch! I'm going to call you Froabble!"
I patted Chespin on the head, completely forgetting about the needles in the process. "Ow," I said. "What's the deal? I thought your head was usually soft."
"Chespin's pins are mainly retracted with friends," Trevor said. "But if you two become good friends, you won't need to worry about the needles."
Shauna eyed me. "Then there is only one way of increasing our friendship; a Pokémon battle! Come on, a battle never harmed anybody!"
That sounded like a plan. I was aware that I had the advantage against Froakie, so I was down to help me get a taste of things.
"Let's do it!" I told Shauna.
Calem Vs. Shauna
"Okay Froabble, go!" Shauna shouted, sending out her Froakie. Well, it was already out so it ran onto the temporary battlefield.
"And Chespin, you're up!" I said. "Now, what can you learn?" I scanned Chespin with the Pokédex and looked up its moves.
"Okay Froabble, use Bubble!" Froakie blew bubbles at Chespin. However, due to Chespin's Grass Typing, it wasn't very effective.
"Ah, here we go. Chespin, Vine Whip!" Chespin summoned vines from its shell and whacked Froakie for a significant amount of damage. One more and victory was mine.
"Okay Froabble, Pound!" Froakie dashed over to Chespin and hit it.
"Now use Tackle!" I replied. Chespin hit Froakie with its body, finishing it off.
"Well, it was our first battle after all. Thank you Calem, and to you to Froakie!"
"Nice one Chespin!" I said, rubbing its head. I wasn't hurt this time. "And thanks Shauna. Oh, and to all of you of course."
So, the question was, what now? I looked beyond Santalune City to see a forest. A forest that, without Chespin, I wouldn't ever dare of going through. But now that I had Chespin, I had a wave of confidence I had never felt until that point.
"I've decided," I said. "I'm going on a journey."
Everyone beamed. "Then we will to!" Tierno said, dancing on the spot. "Kalos is recognized as the most beautiful region in the world, there is so much to see!"
I said that I would meet them tomorrow, but only if Mum said it was okay. They were all prepared for a potential no.
Location: Vaniville Town
"My my, that's quite a welcome!" Mum said. "You not only made a bunch of friends, but you received a Pokémon and Pokédex to! That's an honour if I've ever seen one."
"Mum," I said. "I… I want to go on a journey! I want to see all that the Kalos region has to offer. I want to challenge this region's Gym Leaders and obtain all the Badges, then reach the Pokémon League and become the Champion!"
Mum didn't look the least bit surprised. "I was expecting that!" she said. "Go, enjoy the region with your new friends! Oh, which reminds me. I have a present for you." She got me a box with a logo on it I couldn't believe. It said 'Lysandre Labs' on it.
"A Holo Caster?!" I yelled. "But I thought you said 14 was too young for me to own one!"
"I don't mean that now!" she said. "And hey, we need to stay in contact, don't we? Give your Mum a call every so often, okay?"
"I will," I said. "Okay. I'm going to go to bed. I've got a big day tomorrow."
"Before you do," she said. "Deliver this to Professor Sycamore, will you?" She handed me a letter. "His Laboratory is located in the Kalos region Capital; Lumiose City! You can find it on this." Her other present; a Town Map!
"Thanks," I said. I gave her a hug before heading upstairs.
That night, me and Chespin looked out the window. It was a clear night, so we could see lights in the distance.
"That must be Lumiose City," I said. "Only seen from here on the clearest of nights. That's where we need to head." I got out my Town Map. "Before that though, we need to make our way through Santalune Forest, which is that woodland I pointed out earlier. Then it's Santalune City, which has a Gym! Chespin, adventure is waiting for us."
Little did I know that this adventure would be one that even the most ambitious of Trainers could only dream of…
