Post Zero Requiem

Lelouch had some idea of what the afterlife will be like even before he died due to his knowledge of C's world. Nothing concrete but he had some guesses. That's why he was completely surprised when he came face to face with what appeared to be a woman who had a remarkable resemblance to C.C.

But quickly he regained his composure and deduced her possible identity. "Are you the one who carry souls to the afterlife? Or are you a representative of 'God'?"

"I am the Dimensional Supervisor," the woman said. "The caretaker of space-time."

'So, it is option two. That makes this special circumstance,' Lelouch thought.

"Lelouch vi Britannia, we will offer you a contract." D.S. continued. "The conditions are—"

One week before R1 Episode 1

Nunnally vi Britannia found herself in what must have been a dream. The proof was that she was standing on her legs and looking at the colourful world with her open eyes; such things were not possible for her in reality.

Granted this was not the first time she had a lucid dream but this was far too real as far as dreams went. And she was not alone.

"Nunnally!" Two of those present, Milly and Shirley per their voices, ran to her and hugged her worriedly.

"Are you okay, Nunna?" Shirley asked. "And how are you standing?"

"Milly, Shirley, I am okay. But why are you here? This is my dream, isn't it?" Nunally questioned. "And where is this?" Normally, her dreams only took form in an image she had seen before her blindness but this place was new.

"This is the student council room," Milly replied. "And according to CC, this is not a dream but a supernatural phenomenon." Her voice carried equal parts disbelief and excitement as she gestured to the green haired woman in white prison outfit munching on pizza.

Nunally noticed the rest of the occupants, all of them young women, and found only one familiar face. "S-sister Euphie?"

"Nunally, is that really you?" Princess Euphemia started weeping and hugged her long thought dead sister. "You are really alive! I knew it. And Lelouch, is he okay?"

Nunally hugged her favourite sister back. "Brother is okay, sister Euphie, but how did you come here?"

"I am the one who called you here," an unfamiliar voice answered. It was a woman with pale skin and pink-black hair. "I am the caretaker of space-time, a representative of the collective will of mankind, what some refer to as God."

'I wonder if someone dosed me on refrain, because this is really crazy,' Kallen thought to herself.

"This is not some drug induced hallucination, Kallen Kozuki," D.S. spoke to her as if reading her thoughts. "This is a golden opportunity that I present to all of you. Don't you want to see your future?"

"Excuse me, Miss D.S.," Kaguya Sumeragi injected. "Are you implying that you are capable of showing us our future. And if so, why were we chosen to see the future?"

"I can show you the future." D.S. said and there was a surge of something from her that caused them to believe every word that she said. "As for the reason, it is because I made a contract with someone."

"This is a surprise," C.C. spoke up. "I thought you didn't directly interfere with the world unless the balance was broken. To think you will break your own rules, something unsettling must have happened in the future."

A sense of apprehension filled the room as the occupants finally realized how amazing the situation, they had found themselves in.

"I can't answer that, unfortunately. But you will see it yourself in the future. What I can say however is that in the future this world will be changed by one individual. And what you are going to be seeing is his story." D.S. looked at all of them. "The reason you were chosen was because you are either connected to him or will be in the near future."

"That individual is—Lelouch vi Britannia!"

"Lelouch!?" Milly, Euphie and Nunally made shocked noises together.

"Madam President, she is not talking about our Lulu, right?" Shirley asked nervously, her eyes moving between Nunally and Princess Euphemia and a realization about his crush's identity was dawning on her.

Kallen narrowed her eyes thinking how knowing about future could be useful, while at the same time worried about her cover being blown with two Britanniann royals in the room. 'It figures that it is about Britannian royalty. Even in the future, they hold all the power.' She thought with an eyeroll.

Kaguya, however, remembered Lelouch and his hatred of his father and was more interested in seeing the future.

"I have arranged the information in the form of a Tv series so that you will find it entertaining," D.S. continued gesturing towards the TV. "It is all recorded there. It works like a normal TV would and there are about 50 episodes to watch. No matter how much time you spend here, it will just be one night in reality. Food and sleep are not necessary, but anything you want I will provide." She leveled a significant look at CC, who was starting on her third pizza. "One last warning, none of you can leave before seeing all of it and there is no way to physically hurt anyone here, so please avoid violence. Many of you are going to have your privacies violated but I request that you remain civil."

With one final look at them, she disappeared. The room descended in uncomfortable silence before it was broken by Milly Ashford.

"Okay, before we start, I think we should introduce ourselves. I am Milly Ashford, student council president of the Ashford Academy and this is Shirley Fenett, another member of the student council. Lelouch is our Vice President."

Euphemia followed, insisting that while she was a princess she be treated like everyone else, and they call her Euphie.

What surprised Kallen more than the bubbly princess was knowing that Nunnally and her brother were exiled members of the royal family and she was in reality a wheelchair-bound blind girl.

On top of that, the only other Japanese in the room, Kaguya Sumeragi, turned out to be a childhood friend of the banished royals and turned quick friends with Euphie as they started swapping childhood stories about Lelouch and Nunnally.

Kallen was forcefully inducted into the student council by Milly and used as a shield as Shirley complained about her keeping Lelouch's true identity secret.

Nunnally found herself approaching the most reclusive member present. "Miss CC, are you a friend of my brother's too?"

CC looked at her in surprise. "No, I don't know him personally. But I expect that will change in the near future. I think we should start."

At her words, everyone broke up their conversations and started paying attention to the TV.

Milly picked up the remote and announced. "Okay, so let's begin!"

So, this is the prologue.

I have always wanted to write a Code Geass reaction fic. But different from all the other fics, I have put it pre-series. But at the same time, this story is the prequel to a 'Lelouch returns in time' fic. That will be my next story.

The reaction cast is much smaller as most people who are part of Zero's story don't know him yet. I didn't add Nina because she is not my favourite character. And I don't know how someone as mentally unstable as her will react to anything. The same reason I didn't add Suzaku. I wanted to add Rivalz, but he will stick like a sore thumb among all the girls. I added Euphemia instead. She is more likely to see the problems with the world and her approach. Besides her death was a turning point for both Suzaku and Lelouch.

Another point of this story is to prepare these characters for a post-requiem Lelouch as he is most likely to push away all the people close to him. He needs help and he needs understanding. Only then can he walk on a different path.
