"DAHDAHDAHDAHDAHDAHDAHDAHDAH!" A young voice rang out on the deserted tundra hills of Name, as two boys were sparring intensely, being supervised by an older adult male.

The two were brothers, the older one having spiky hair, that protruded from the left, and the right side having longer spikes, and wore some fur garbs.

The younger one however, had long spiky hair, reminiscent of a non-canon legendary saiyan, as he was slightly taller than his brother in the same garbs as they traded blows.

And their father had short, yet spiky hair with two large spiky bangs as he wore some armor that had two shoulder pads protruding from the side with a cape protruding from the back, signifying his mid class power level as he wore a fur garb underneath the armor for extra warmth, supervising the two children.

It was a part of their training as being two seasoned Saiyan warriors, or something of the sort. Even if they were now some of the last survivors of the near extinct race.

The battle was one to see which sibling was stronger. Right now the older sibling would be launching a barrage of punches at the younger one, but his guard remained solid.

The younger sibling then found an opening as the barrage would slowly fell apart, and struck his older brother straight in the right side of his chest.

"Guah!" The older one hacked.

The younger sibling took his chance to wail on his open brother as he punched, elbowed, kicked and kneed him. The older brotwould reeled until he used his tail to strike his younger brother straight in the neck in between an axe kick.

"ACK!" The younger one choked. He held his neck as his brother delivered a spinning back punch to the jaw before side kicking his chest. The younger slid back a bit as his older brother pressured him with a few more solid blows. They soon locked palms as they pushed against each other.

The ground below them would begin to slowly crack as they headbutted over and over again as they yelled at each other.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!"

They soon seperated with a final headbutt. Both brothers were a little bit woozy from the constant head blows, but would get back into their stances before rushing each other once again.

They exchange extremely fast punches, elbows, clotheslines, jabs, knees, kicks, shoulders, grabs and throws as they tried to best each other in combat as they flew up into the air. The environment would be reacting to their attacks as the rubble would be slowly levitating as they rumbled from the blows.

But the attack that finally caused the older Saiyan to end the match was when they both fired their ki attacks. The older brother yelled his signature move that he came up all by himself.

"Cyclone Cannon!" He yelled as he shot an azure blue beam down at his younger brother.

His brother however would not evade the attack, but instead challenged it with his father's signature move. It would be a one handed blast.

"Hyperion Flash!" The younger brother roared as a pure white beam of energy shot from his hand.

The attacks lashed as the colour around them would be nothing than the shadow of objects in the way of the blinding light of the two children contesting their energy waves. The ground would be properly quaking as their output was the highest the two could have possibly gone at the time.

But the beams quickly grow unstable as the clash center would grow rapidly before detonating, the older Saiyan quickly vanished and took the boys out of danger before the beams had completely broken down into a large explosion that rocked the terrain, with nothing but a destroyed area for about a few hundred feet.

He soon reappeared at a safe distance, holding both of the boys by their shirt necks. He dropped them on the ground as they landed and looked back to him. He then folded his arms and clhisd his eyes as he made a deep sigh.

"How many times do I have to tell you two to NOT use powerful blasts like that during a spar? You can barely control simple ki blasts, let alone your signature attacks." He chided them as they looked down.

"We're sorry, dad." The older one would say as he looked back up.

"We're really sorry, pops." The younger one apologized alongside his sibling as he kept looking down.

"..." The older Saiyan, now revealed as the little ones' father, remained silent as he stared at the two. He did so for a little bit more before shaking his head and patting the older one on the head.

"It's alright, Poto. As long as you're still alive, I'm content with your progress. You're getting better." He gave some praise as he patted his firstborn's head.

"Thanks, father." Poto smiled.

"And you too, Tato. You did better than yesterday. Just remember what I said until you gain better control over your energy." He attempted to cheer his younger son up as he ruffled his hair. Tato looked up and wiped his eyes before forming a smile.

"Did I?! Yes!" The younger sone cheered as his celebration would cause a smirk to creep up onto his father's face.

"There's that enthusiasm. Now come on, I think your mother might be done cooking all that wild giant alien meat that we hunted." Their father told them as their stomachs conveniently growled immediately after he had finished.

Awkward silence ensued.

"Let's race there!" Poto yelled as he got into a starting position, breaking the silence.

"Yeah! Come on dad!" Tato prompted his father to join them.

Their father thought about it for a bit, before rolling their eyes and getting into a starting position as well. Their childhood memories should be fun, rather than the rough upbringing as a Saiyan mid-class with sociopolitical antics and planet conquering. Let the warrior children be warrior children.

"You kids get a 100 meter head start. After that I'm leaving you two in the dust." He gave some conditions as they all were enveloped in a bright white energy.

"Readyyyyyy..." Their father would begin.

"Seeeeeet...!" Poto continued.

"GO!" Tato yelled out as the kids zoomed into the air.

Their father rolled his eyes before soon blasting off after them once he saw that they crossed one hundred meters.

He soon easily surpassed the speed of his children as he rightfully told them as they desperately tried to keep up with him.

"Ah!" Poto reacted.

"Not again!" Tato cried in dismay.

After a while of being in the lead, he purposefully slowed down for both of them to pass him, making them feel as if they had already won based on how far back he had fell behind.

"Haha! See ya, dad!" Tato yelled in triumph.

"Come on, Tato! We gotta beat him to the house!" Poto refocused his brother ran they booster further ahead.

But when their little hut was in sight, the older Saiyan had pressed fully on the gas and vanished once again, seamlessly outpacing his kids as he landed by their house a whole 5 seconds before Poto, and 6 seconds before Tato.

"Hm." The father of the two boys hummed triumphantly as he was content with the results if the race.

"But I thought we were gonna beat you this time!" Poto complained as he landed.

"You totally cheated, Dad!" Tato yelled as he landed.

"I didn't cheat. I'm just that fast." He would boast.

The kids groaned as their father laughed at their defeat as they all walked inside.

"We're home, Cassa!" The boys' father shouted out in an alerting tone as they opened the door for their little shack.

They soon found a saiyan woman who was tending to all the meat that her husband and sons had captured. She had long spiky hair, an wore some female saiyan armor with a single shoulder guard that was damaged underneath her fur garbs, like her husband, except he had the male saiyan armor variant with a both shoulder guards instead. They both also had their tails wrapped around their waist as their children would have it moving around freely from time to time, as they hadn't gotten full coordination or control of their tail as yet.

"Welcome home, Scallio. I assume that training went well?" She asked her mate as he went and took a seat at the dinner table.

"The boys nearly blew themselves up again. But I saved them in the nick of time." He told her the unfiltered truth. It was slightly humorous when paired with the fact that he told her with the most neutral face possible.

"Atleast we didn't make the beams blow up almost instantly! That's good, right?" Poto tried to look on the bright side of things, as he attempted to placate the growing annoyance on his mother's face.

"Please don't be mad, mommy! W-We're sorry! Forgive us, please!" Tato was internally shaking in fear at the memories of the ire of his mother. Cassa herself would have a jolly look as her eyes were closed in a happy fashion after sighing but she radiated a sinister aura beneath it, ensuring punishment for their risky and life threatening antics.

"Come and give your mother a hug, boys..." She tried to bring them in by using a face that she normally used when they were good and helped her around the house.

But it backfired with the help of survival instict as they quickly scrambled behind their father, hiding behind the muscular 6'2'' warrior.

"No way!" Poto saw right through.

"Mommy's scary! Protect us, Dad!" Tato screamed in terror right after.

Their father hid a laugh as they cowered behind them, understanding their fear for his deceitfully angry wife.

"Scallio, restrain them." Cassa ordered as her voice dropped to a menacing tone as her eyes became open with the look of a predator as she neared her boys. Their father, named Scallio went into action as he got up and held his wife by the shoulders.

"Cassa, you can't punish them for basic training hijinks." He reasoned.

"That almost got them killed!" She made her onvious counterpoint.

"But they're Saiyans! They're bound to run into life risking situations later in their lives. I mean, hell even our daughter will have to fight at some point." He would explain as he removed his shoulders.

"But so young?! Can't I enjoy my little warriors for a bit longer before you throw them into danger?" She asked with hurt.

"Our people sent our infants to conquer planets back on Vegeta. I'm being infinitely more lenient in comparison, Cassa. I don't want them to be killed off so easily, and even if they do get hurt, they'll become much more powerful when they recover! And under my watchful eye, I'll prevent any fatal training accidents from happening. You have to think long term, Cass." He finished, calling her by her nickname.

"But can't you dial down the intensity for a bit? I don't want Tato walking in with a broken arm, or Poto with severe head damage!" She raised a valid point.

"I would if I could, believe me. But they have to learn..." He paused and turned to his children. They were listening on the conversation as well, and would be soaking all the information like a sponge as they heard what they did to babies on Vegeta.

He would have to get them out of the room before what he would say next would cause their mother to grab them and run out of the house.

"Boys," He would turn around. "Go and check on you sister. Make sure she didn't walk walk outside again. I'll call you back when yojr mother takes out the food." He would tell them. He knew she was still inside thanks to a certain trick he learnt that allowed him to sense ki when he and his squad members invaded a planet call Tazba some years ago.

"Uh... Okay." Tato complied as he walked to the other room.

"Wait up!" Poto said as he followed his brother.

"Now that they're gone. I would ease up on their training, but I'm planning to use the spacepods that sent us here to send them off planet." He would finish.

Silence.

"YOU WHAT!?" Cassa shrieked as the house comically shook in tandem. Scallio cringed as she screamed.

"Now, listen-" But he was cut off almost instantly.

"NO, YOU LISTEN HERE SCALLIO! MY BOYS ARE ONLY 5 YEARS OLD, AND YOUR PLANNING TO SHOOT THEM INTO SOME RANDOM PART OF SPACE WHERE THEY CAN NOT ONLY BE KILLED MERCILESSLY IN A HEARTBEAT, BUT MAY ALSO BE CAPTURED AND TORTURED BY FRIEZA, WITH NO WAY OF COMING BACK!!?'' She finished as the house rumbled and shook with each word that escaped her lips. Cassa was not very violent usually, but when it came to her family, she would become an unstoppable force.

The man who was being asked would be shielding himself as he withstood his wife's outburst. But he was not an unreasonable man, so he decided to explain himself while his wife was still panting.

"Let me finish. I'm not going to throw my 5 year old sons into space right now. That would be highly insane and would result them in dying rather quickly." The Saiyan began.

"Then what are you going to do?" She would ask, still defensive.

"Train them to the bone. If they can be strong enough in let's say three years time, then I'll have bo doubts in sending them off in good conscience. I would have even suggesting going with them for extra assurance, but the slace pods can only fit one person each." Scallio finished.

"But don't you find it selfish to just strip them away from their family like that?" Cassa would ask.

"It being just as selfish as keeping them all to yourself, incapable of fending away enemies at any given moment as they live out the rest of their days on an isolated planet, with nothing but harsh wildlife and the sobering and bleak stillness as they stagnate in power? Or worse yet, if Frieza himself or his brother Cooler arrives to colonize the planet with our children caught in the cross fire!" Scallio argued.

"But they have us!"

"We can't protect them forever won't be here forever! What happens when we're gone, and they get attacked by one of Cold's son's men?! Could you live with yourself that they died because they were too weak to defend themselves because of our inaction?" Scallio propose.

"But that same possibility is apparent when you freaking SHOOT THEM OUT INTO DEAD SPACE, SCALLIO!" Cassa counter argued.

"We just teach them what they need to know, and they'll be fine! They're strong for their age, aren't they?!" She desperately tried to make her husband see in rational terms, to her perspective.

"I only know so much, Cass! They're lacking as a matter of fact! Bardock, who was stronger than me back then had a power level of around 10,000 and still lost to Frieza as he destroyed our entire race! They can't hope to beat him if they stay on this backwater rock! I want them to live and grow, not die with fear! And children grow when they're seperated from their parents, so this is basically the best option for them! I'll even send them to places with mostly harmless life so that they don't starve to death when they land! We owe Bardock our lives for his suspicion, an I didn't heed his warning just for me and my family to live out our days in hiding over that blasted lizard that doomed our race- we're Saiyans for crying out loud! The strongest race in the universe! I can see the potential in them, and I know that they can help his son, Kakarot defeat Frieza!" He would go on a tangent as Cassa stayed quiet.

"..." She became quiet as she registered what Scallio said.

"I don't say it much, but I love them, Cassa. And I want whats best. I would much rather oversee them, but this is for the best. Love them as much as you can for the next three years, because when the time comes, they'll have to go." He finished wkth some emotion in his voice as he looked right into the eyes of his wife, who was tearing up. She would shakily walk up to him and embrace him, as he hugged her back, and they would just stand there as they hugged, thinking about the uncertain future of their children, their family, and their race.

"... I hope you're right about this, Cal." She called him by his nickname as they embraced, which prompted the taller Saiyan to respond.

'I hope I'm right about this too, Cass.' The man thought as he held his wife tightly as she sobbed into his chest, her support looking though the window towards the planet's setting sun.

"But what about our daughter? Do we send her with them too?" She asked, on the verge of fully breaking down.

"I don't trust them alone with Sabi, ok. I'm not that insane. We'll keep her here for now. We can use the scouter you had to attract some of Frieza's men, and hijack their space pods." The husband explained.

"The only problem is that it's lost somewhere on this planet, and ." Cassa revealed the hole in that plan.

"And that it might be broken. Think you can fix it if you find it?" The man questioned the Saiyan woman.

"If I had the tools. But we've been here for half a decade. I can shovel out some spare parts within the space pods, but that could possibly compromise the safety of the space travel for one of the boys." The woman explained.

"I see. We just have to hope that it hasn't been weathered, stomped on by one of the beasts, or been worn down by time... May Yamoshi help us." Scallio sighed as he went back to hugging his wife as they stood.

The Saiyan family were now eating at the table a half an hour later as their parents had finally settled how they were going to deal with the event that was happening three years from now.

Scallio was enjoying a large piece of wee done meat as he ravaged the piece with large chomps like a Hungry Hungry Hippo.

Cassa devoured a slightly smaller piece of meat by taking small but rapid bites, trading surface area eating for efficiency.

Poto emulated his father by engulfing the meat that was given to him, and would be eating rapidly as well as with big bites, chewing all his food nicely before swallowing, so that he did not choke.

Tato ate a whole lot more quickly than his brother, but would be eating normal bites of his food, and would be eating meat slab after meat slab as he ate like a submachine gun.

And finally their sister, they younger born with her short spiky hair and cheeky face had some meat given to her, but just because she was small didn't mean her appetite followed suit. She would be using her little arms to shovel small bites into her mouth as she had a smile on her face.

"Sabi's sure hungry today. Did you starve her?" Scallio asked.

"Don't kid. Her? Starved? Never. The little girl wouldn't stop bothering me for a snack." She gave context as she ate.

"Snack! I love snacks!" She brightened as she ate."

"Mommy knows you do, dear." She responded with as the five ate.

"So Dad," Poto would say. "When are you gonna teach us how to control our big ape forms?" He would ask.

"Yeah!" Tato would respond."

"Ape!" Sabi would repeat.

"When you're ready." Scallio replied

"But you always say that!" Tato whined.

"Because it's always true. Your father would never lie to you." Cassa explained.

"But he makes us wait, and that's boring." Poto told their mother.

"Well if it makes you feel any better, I'll teach you something else to take your mind off it after dinner." She perked the boys' interest."

"Teach me!" Sabi yelled.

"Don't worry about them, Sabi. You're still learning how to fly. You'll get it down one day." Scallio told the little girl, who clapped in delight at his words.

"So joyful. What I'd do to get back that happiness." Scallio reminisced over halcyon days as he went back to devouring his meat.

The family soon finished their meat as they then went their seperate ways. Scallio would go to play with his daughter until she was ready to go and take a nap that would preferably be the one that lasted through the night in their room, and Cassa would take her two sons and carry them outside as she kept her word, as she wanted to prepare her boys as much as possible.

She let them stand in front of her as they looked up at their mother, who would be folding her arms as she explained the principals of energy. She then explain that sensing the energy of someone is vital in a fight since it can reveal extra enemies and help locate your friends.

"Energy is a very important tool. You can do many things with energy." Cassa began.

"Like what?" Poto asked.

"Well, as you already know, you can create simple energy balls," She manifested a yellow orb of ki. "And you can create energy blasts." She continued as she blasted a boulder, reducing it to smoldering pebbles. "You can increase your own power with it," She flexed her body as a yellow swirl of energy enveloped her form, brightening the area around them. "And you can even use it to sense other living things.'' The boys' mother finished as she blasted a large crab like monster, turning it into fried crab as it exploded on impact.

"Cool!" Poto would say, amazed at his mother's explanation as he looked behind himself.

"That's awesome, mom!" Tato shouted in excitement.

"Guess we're And having seafood tomorrow. And you know what's even more awesome?" She asked.

"What is?" Both of the boys questioned.

"You can learn it too!" Cassa revealed to them.

"Teach us! Teach us! Teach us!" They chanted with bubbling excitement..

"Alright, alright, alright. Now listen closely..." Cassa began as she explained the process as she demonstrated.

"First you close your eyes and feel for someone's signature of energy. Not to sew with your eyes, but feel with your own energy. You'll sense nothing at first, but after a bit, you'll pick up on each other's energy, and others around you." Cassa contextualized.

The boys nodded as they closed their eyes.

After a few tries, Poto would have grasped the basic idea and would be able to sense his brother's energy. Tato would follow through a few minutes later, as Poto was still trying to accurately sense his mother's as it was above his. They would be there trying to accurately gauge their mother's energy for quite some time until their mother decided to call it a day, 3 hours later as they were well into the night.

The two brothers were sweating as they would have been tirelessly sensing the organisms around them from the small insects to the large monsters, then their sister and themselves, but were stuck gauging his mother's power accurately as his father's power level was far too high for them to sense properly, only with the subtext that it was way bigger than theirs.

"That's enough, boys. I think you two are out of energy." Cassa would say as she stretched.

"No way, mom! I can go for another few minutes!" Tato tried to convince his mother as attempted to sense his mother's energy but would then be panting after a few seconds.

"This is not your regular training, Tato. You can't just rough it out this time. Rest, and we'll continue tomorrow." Cassa instruxted as she ruffled her son's hair. Poto, however would be trying over and over again, getting closer and closer to sensing his mother's full power. But he too, would soon fall to his knees as he breathed heavily."

"You too, Poto. You can't treat this as your regular spar. It's something that takes concentration and focus. Take a break and we'll continue tomorrow." Cassa told her firstborn.

Poto got up and wiped his brow before walking to his mother. The three Saiyans headed inside as they would be comforted by their mother as she ruffled their heads in a loving manner as she cared for them very much, and wanted them to succeed in their training for that fated day.

They would walk back inside to their father/husband playing with their sister/daughter by putting her on top of his shoulders and walking around while making babbling noises, making the little girl giggle as she clapped her hands.

He too would be laughing as he was secretly having fun with his daughter until he saw the rest of his family looking at him. His sons would be chuckling to themselves as his wife would be looking at him with a mixture of a knowing look and an amused one. He froze up an put down her daughter to let her waddle away before he cleared his throat and folded his arms while looking up innocently.

"Hello, loving family. Where have you been?" He would ask as if he wasn't entertaining his daughter for the last 3 hours.

The trio of Saiyans just laughed at the warrior, as he too would just cross his arms as he looked away, a smirk soon infecting his face as the jolly feeling in the house returned once again.

"To this day, I wonder why it's so hard to stay uptight with you people." Scallio muttered under his breath as they laughed.

A/N:

Hey there, readers! This is my second fanfic on this site, and I decided to make it a Dragon Ball one.

This idea came to me with the basis that Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta. Right. And that all the Saiyans are dead. Good. But what if someone other than the Father of Goku was suspicious?

And that person was Scallio.

He found it odd that Frieza called back every single Saiyan. Even more so when he never specified why they had to return to Planet Vegeta on such short notice. Only to return and be greeted with the low class Saiayn warrior, Bardock as he passed by the meat processing stations towards the castle.

There, he had a short conversation with the warrior and his partner Gine about the suspicious and vague actions of Frieza, and what could possibly be afoot. Both warroirs agreed that Frieza was definitely up to no good by the end of the conversation, and went with their own ways of dealing with his course of action. Bardock ensured his son's safety, while Scallio ensured him and his wife's safety.

When he reached his partner in the scientific quarters, she was on break when he told her about his and Bardock's suspicions about Frieza. Her analytical mind did find it odd, but couldn't believe that Frieza would do anything of the sort. Scallio convinced her that they should play it safe, due to the Emperor's vague and unpredictable nature, added with the fact that he still hadn't stated why he called all of them there.

They then decided that they would confront King Vegeta about the issue, but to their horror, they discovered dying body on the ground. Scallio rushed to his side, asking who did this to him. Cassa was frozen with shock.

He looked his Commander in the eyes and told him that it was Frieza, his dying breath that he betrayed the Saiyans, and planned genocide.

That was all the Commander needed, as he and his wife stole three space pods from the space pod hanger, convincing the mechanics that they were being sent to the labs for upgrades by the order of Frieza himself, Cassa voucher for the fib as her position of Assistant Head Scientist.

Later that day, they met up with the Saiyan couple, giving a space pods to them, for their son to escape in as they programmed their locations. Gine vouched that Scallio and Cassa follow and watch over Kakarot until they came back for him if Frieza wasn't going to do anything, but Bardock opted that it would be too suspicious if anyone picked up 3 spaceships leaving in the same direction, a observation that the other Saiyan couple agreed with.

Scallio also told Bardock of the King's death by the hands of Frieza, and that he was going to betray the Saiyans, giving the Saiyan father confirmation of his suspicions, being relieved yet angered that he was right that Frieza was about to commit trechary.

They ended up programming their ships to different locations, with Kakarot being sent to a place called Earth, and them being sent to another far away planet by the name of Name (Nah-may).

So Scallio, with his wife Cassa and Bardock and Gine's son Kakarot, fled the planet rather than facing the insurmountable power that was Frieza with some hindsight knowing the Emperor's lineage as well as stumbling upon King Vegeta's lifeless body being reaffirming evidence, knowing they were not strong enough to help Bardock fight. And to make it even worse, Frieza destroying that planet behind their fleeting ships, undetected thanks to a device that Cassa attached to the ships to mask their prescense from scouters, with their home being annihilated the Genocide of The Saiyans, and being forced to live in hiding on a tundra hellscape. Grim, yet not without silver lining.

They had kids, and raised them as well as they could once they were born. And after a 16 YEAR timeskip, we arrive at the beginning of the chapter.

I fused the Dragon Ball Super: Broly Timeline and the Bardock: Father of Goku Timeline a bit, just to make some things make sense, and an explanation for Bardock, as well as the definitive incentive to leave Planet Vegeta for Scallio and Cassa.

And yes, Poto and Tato's names are a pun on the best vegetable ever, the one that turns into fries-
