See the sun a-rising

Fire in the sky

Greatness thrusts itself

Into our lives

Yusei listened to the ending of his favorite song on the radio as he drove over the Daedalus Bridge, enjoying the beautiful view of the sunrise. He loved his friends, Jack and Crow, but after living with them for nearly a year now, he took whatever chance he could get to be alone.

A perfect day for a duel. Yusei thought. It's been two months since the World Racing Grand Prix ended. The WRGP. A team dueling tournament with competitors from all across the globe. But unfortunately, that wasn't all that was happening. There was a sinister force at work behind the scenes. Team New World. They had entered the WRGP, and were using it as a catalyst to build their Divine Temple. And when it was completed, it would mean the destruction of New Domino City. It all came down to our duel against them. Luckily... No, not luckily- together, me and my friends were able to defeat Aporia and win the duel, saving the city.

After that...

"Well, Team Ragnarok and even Team Unicorn came to congratulate us, but where's Sherry's team?" Crow questioned. He and the rest of Team 5D's were currently still enjoying their victory party in the Kaiba Dome, fresh from defeating Team New World. As he spoke, Crow shook a large bottle of soda that was in his grip before opening it, spraying it over the twins, Leo and Luna, who had been staring each other down, each with a bottle of soda in their hands. After that action, however, the two turned and set their sights on Crow, who promptly reached for two more bottles of soda, but found himself soaked before he could get his hands on even one.

"You have a good point. We haven't seen Sherry since what happened with Jakob. After Primo's assault on the city." Yusei commented. "I hope she's doing okay."

"You need not hope, Yusei Fudo." A familiar voice came. "Congratulations on your victory."

"Sherry!"

"Alas, I am afraid I did not come to be speaking with you about manners zat are light of heart."

"What do you mean?"

"Yusei Fudo, you may have defeated ze three Emperors of Iliaster, the ones who defeated my team, but my parents have yet to be found. As far as I'm concerned, until they are found, my battle against Iliaster isn't over. I figured I would let you know that."

"Sherry... I hope you find them soon. And please, if there's anything I can do to help, just ask me."

"Hm... Yes, perhaps I will. Au revoir, Yusei Fudo."

And Sherry isn't the only one who left town that day. After the victory celebration was over, Bruno told me that he needed to go on a "journey of self-discovery". I'm not completely sure of why. Perhaps it was because of his amnesia, or perhaps there's something more that's pushing him to do this. But either way, I haven't heard from Sherry or Bruno since that day.

Yusei took a look up at the sky where the sun had now fully risen above the horizon. Still, I can't help feeling like their destinations are one and the same. I wonder what it all means. Yusei saw that he was now nearly off of the Daedalus Bridge. This meant that he would soon be in the city, and on his way back home.

Since the WRGP, things have mostly gone back to normal. Despite the prize money we earned, Crow's still holding down multiple jobs, and I'll take whatever engineering work I can get. Jack's still... Well, he's trying, but if only Crow and I could get him to try a little harder. Akiza and the twins are studying at Duel Academy. Well... Hopefully, Leo's been studying.

I'm glad that these past two months have been peaceful. There haven't been any major incidents, and Officer Trudge hasn't had to call us in to help him out. But still... Yusei looked down at his right arm where his mark of the Crimson Dragon resided. I can't help but feel like something major's going down soon. And when it does, I hope we're all ready for it.

"Yusei!"

"Jack!"

"Crow!"

Three calls rang through the house simultaneously, drawing each of its residents into the living room.

"What is it, Jack?" Yusei questioned.

"This little pest," The former champ moved his arm in a grand motion to gesture towards Crow. "Gave the coffee shop a picture of me, and told them not to let me buy anything there!"

"How'd you get them to do that?" Yusei asked.

"I gave them a wanted picture from the days of fake Jack. And told them they could get in trouble for serving a criminal."

"I thought that Sector Security announced his innocence."

"It's a wanted picture, it doesn't say which crimes he committed. For all they know, it could be from a different crime." Crow explained.

"You sleazy little... What I want to know is why you did this!" Jack cut in.

"'Cause you keep buying that overpriced Blue-Eyes Mountain coffee, even though we have our own coffee maker!"

"It's not the same." Jack replied quietly.

"What's the difference? They taste the exact same!"

"There's a different texture, flavor, price-"

"Being expensive does not make things better!" Crow interrupted. "Look, it would be okay if you were spending your own money, but you're not!" Crow continued.

"What are you talking about? I spend the prize money from the WRGP."

"Yeah, the same WRGP we worked together as a team to win, and you've already spent more than your share!" Crow retorted.

"Stop shouting." Even Yusei, who had grown accustomed to their constant arguing, was starting to get a headache.

"I've got a solution- Crow, you'll go to the coffee shop and tell them that Jack isn't a criminal, after Jack gets a job and keeps it. I know you've been trying hard, Jack, but maybe this will incentivize you to try just a little harder. I know you can do it... Well, I'm pretty sure you can do it."

"There's nothing the great Jack Atlas can't do when he puts his mind to it! And I-"

"Great! You can prove that later, Yusei, what did you want?" Crow asked, redirecting the conversation.

"I wanted to ask you if you got the wrench I asked for."

"Sorry, I was too busy with work." Crow replied.

"It's okay, I shouldn't have expected you to have the free time."

"And what did you need?" Jack asked, looking towards Crow.

"You blew a bunch of money on food we can't afford- AGAIN!" Crow yelled.

"And this is why you're getting a job." Yusei spoke, shaking his head. "I'm going to go get that wrench I needed." Yusei said, exiting through the door.

"I've got to go to work." Crow also exited the building, leaving Jack alone in the apartment.

Yusei and Crow entered the house together and saw Jack standing there expectantly.

"What is it, Jack?" Crow asked.

"I just got a call from Goodwin, he wants to see the Signers -and Leo- tomorrow."

"Goodwin's back?! But that can't be! He's been gone for almost a year now. Ever since our battles against the Dark Signers."

"Yes, Yusei, I couldn't believe it either, but it was definitely him. He called me earlier; he's back in town, and he said something about another threat."

"Again?! Can't we catch a break?" Crow complained loudly.

"If Goodwin called it a threat, then it's definitely dangerous." Yusei said.

"Yes, but how can we know that Goodwin's not the threat?" Jack asked.

"He and Roman are the good guys now, remember?" Yusei spoke.

"Just in case, let's make sure to come prepared." Jack replied.

Crow's face got dark. "But first, we have to deal with something even more important... making dinner. I'm starving!"
