DQ11
Scene: Meeting Prince Faris
Author Notes: Just saying it now...Sen has created a monster. And I hate him for it.
Sen: I did so indeed. And I'm not sure if I'm proud of that or not.
Mako: You made him creepy!
Sen: He was already creepy with his dialogue!
Mako: One line-that's all it took.
Sen: And it's great.
Mako: So I take it we're going to use your character again?
Sen: I mean yeah? We could throw you in. Actually you know what yeah, we're throwing you in and making a new story on top of that.
Mako: Nope.
Sen: If i have to suffer you do too.
Mako: Hell no-you WANTED This.
Sen: Well you're in this now-now what should we call this?
Mako: Ugh! Should call it Mako's Nightmare *sighs* We don't own dragon quest.
3rd P.O.V
All the gang had to do is go speak with the Sultan or one of the Sultan's advisors, ask about Yggdrasil's branch and then go from there. "Arrrrowwwww! I'm bored." However it would figure that nothing would ever be so simple.
Instead of getting a simple yes or no to the item in question-the least that they were going to get. "I heard you the first time..." Here ARIN was, standing around, poking his younger twin in the arm while their friends Erik, Veronica and Serena waited along with them.
Seriously Arrow could understand the Sand National being an important event-especially with it being the Prince's birthday happening at the same time...but frankly in her opinion, pacing around in front of your throne room while practicing your speech isn't going to help. If anything it's going to kill your feet.
But obviously she couldn't say that to the man. However she found herself sighing quietly to herself when the royal decided to shoo them away. "What!?" Treating them like needless pests...needless to say all of them were insulted with his dismissal.
What if there was an emergency?! Granted in their case it wasn't but he didn't even give them a chance to speak. Took one glance at them before just telling them off. "You listen here you-!" Arrow immediately moved, using one hand to clamp down on her brother's mouth and her other to hold him back.
Knowing that if she didn't then he was going to go in sword blazing on the noble and frankly they didn't need two royal armies on their heads. "ARIN chill! Now's not the time to try killing him. We'll ask around the palace and if we don't find anything we'll just come back later." She hissed those words into his ear.
Praying at he heed her wisdom...or at most calm down to where she can drag his ass out of there before guards are called on them. Of course he was able to easily rip himself free from her hold, scowling in her direction.
"We've been standing here-waiting for him for ten fucking minutes!" For once she couldn't blame him for his frustration. But again, they didn't need to be hunted down by both Heliodor and Gallopolis. They were lucky enough to escape thanks to the Door of Departure.
They couldn't afford making anymore enemies. "I know. But we can't afford to piss him off. Plus we're better off trying to find news on the rainbow branch asking around then dealing with him." ARIN growls, giving one last glare the Sultan's way before huffing. "Fine."
It was a reluctant acceptance, one met with him pouting with his arms crossed. But it was the best she was going to get. "Alright then let's-" Her sentence was cut off as the doors to the throne room opened.
"Father! My training is complete." The group of five raise an eyebrow as the young man who exclaimed marches forth, passing all of them by with barely a glance. Much to everyone's amazement the Sultan(the son must've inherited his looks from his mother) actually stopped his mumbling to address him.
Actually stepping down from the little set of stairs, clearing his throat before throwing out his arm. "Then give me the pledge." If ARIN wasn't bored before he most certainly was now as he now proceeded to poke his sister in the side.
"A knight's word is his bond, his kingdom his master! He serves the weak untiring, challenge the strong un-Unflinchingly ha! And never...retreats in the face of adversity."
As good of a pledge as that sounded...with the exception of Veronica and Serena, the group hasn't really had any nice experiences with knights. And the royal son's attempt of memorizing and bold proclaiming said pledge was pitiful.
It would've been funny if the group wasn't so frustrated. "Mm. Yes, very good! The Knight's Pledge must always be your guide my son." At that ARIN sent a dumbfounded expression their way. Seriously?
"You are a man now Faris, and tomorrow's races shall prove it! You must show the people you are worthy of their adulation." Erik rolls his eyes as he crosses his arms. "Be better off just stealing it." Immediately Arrow gives him a sharp look.
Her eye twitching as she addresses the thief. "We're not risking getting thrown in the dungeons again!" The blue haired male gives her a smirk, the retort already there. "That's only if I get caught. Not going to be too hard with the lack of security."
Another heavy sigh escapes the girl as she rubs her face with her hand. Why are the guys in her group so prone to the more dangerous/stupid/criminal ideas? "I don't need you or ARIN getting into trouble! So just-" Once more the female Luminary paused while whispering.
Chills went up her spine as she feels eyes on her. Before she could even turn around ARIN was already in front of her. "Keep your eyes off my sister!" Protecting her from the piercing gaze, but also blocking her view from whoever was looking her way.
"Hm?" She watches her elder twin shudder, taking a step back in her direction. "Keep your eyes off me!" The gentleman clears his throat, giving Arrow the opportunity to find that the individual who was staring was the prince himself.
And immediately it makes her nervous. Did he hear her and Erik? "My apologies. What are your names? What brings you to Gallopolis?" Those chills remain deeply imbedded in the brother, sister duo, though it seems luck was on their side and the prince didn't hear Erik suggesting they start stealing.
Still, despite her many MANY concerns, Arrow moves to stand beside her companions, playing delegate. Introducing herself and the others as well as to the branch they were searching for. The Sultan couldn't give a damn about them, but things looked promising with the prince.
Although...that quickly changes as Faris starts mumbling to himself with his arms crossed. "Surely she speaks of the Rainbough...It is the only treasure of our Kingdom that matches such a description."
On one hand it was good to actually have a name for the item they were hunting for. "I believe I can help you my dear. Come...visit me in my chambers at the foot of the staircase later." On the other it looks like it wasn't going to be as easy of a retrieval as Arrow was hoping.
"I shall await you there." Much to everyone's surprise, Faris plants a kiss on Arrow's hand, giving her a wink before leaving. "The hell..." ARIN and Erik send hate filled glares the prince's way. Before having a silent conversation with their eyes.
Both of them doing their utmost to ignore Serena's squeal of excitement as she grabs a befuddled Arrow. Veronica just stands there, smirking at the idiotic expressions on the rest of her party's faces.

"Hey let us through!" Arrow was NOT liking how things were proceeding at all. "Prince's orders. The brown haired angel and her brother are the only ones allowed to enter." Oh hell no-there was no way she was going in there with just her hot tempered sibling.
Wait angel?! "Look, it's either all of us go-or none of us go. I don't have time to waste with meeting his majesty when he's the one who told us to come." The guard tried to stand firm, to hold his ground.
However while Arrow was distracting him(arguing with him), Erik managed to sneak up behind the poor man and knocked him out. Giving his friends a small unapologetic grin as he tilts his head. "Let's go."
Together they enter the bedroom. There, standing at the edge of his bed was the royal himself. "Ahh you came!" Immediately Prince Faris wastes' no time. He swiftly approaches, ignoring practically everyone to grab Arrow's hands in his.
"Thank you for coming so quickly." Once more ARIN separates the two, standing as his sister's big bad protector. "Leave her alone!" At least up until Faris kept his gaze firmly on the swordsman. Looking up. "Leave me alone!" And down.
So much so that chills spread throughout his body. "Yessss...yessss...Your height and Physique are absolutely Perfect! And you have the face of one who knows...horses." Faris circles the pair, an appreciative hum echoing in the chambers.
Making them feel all the more unnerved until he FINALLY stops, turning his back to the group. ARIN was going to take the opportunity to shank the creepy bastard in the back, but then he spoke again. Forcing Arrow to(unfortunately) stop him.
"Be aware friends that the branch you seek is a priceless royal treasure. My father would be most unwilling to hand it over to some...wandering strangers. However..." Faris pauses for a moment.
Glancing over his shoulder with a wry smile. "He might be persuaded to part with it if the request came from his beloved son. Still I can't just give it away either. It IS valuable after all. But if you can help me with one small favor then I will go to him."
He faces them once more, a joyous smile on his face before he stops. "Ah but the palace walls have so many unwelcome ears." His eyes moves from left to right before his attention shifts back. "The noise from the circus will...protect our privacy. Will you join me?" The answer was automatic.
And surprisingly by the male Luminary. "Hell no!" Veronica, not liking that answer went and smacked his knee with her staff. "Grk! You little bitch!" He collapsed to the ground, clutching the aching leg. Unable to stop the red dressed mage from hissing at his twin.
"We NEED that branch! Don't let this opportunity slip!" To be honest Arrow was in complete agreement with her brother. She did not like this man, he was being way too forward with his advances and the looks he is giving both her and ARIN were giving her the creeps.
There was no telling what his little favor was but something told her it wasn't going to be as easy as he was making it out to be. If it were up to her, she would walk right on out and end this journey entirely. Forget the branch-her sanity has only been going downhill since this whole thing started.
However...this was more than just her, if she and her brother were going to save the world(seriously why choose them? Goddess what are you thinking!?) then they needed that branch. "Yes...we will."
Besides even if she did put in the effort to say no she was well aware that Veronica would've smacked her too and agree in their stead anyways. "Excellent! I will meet you at the entrance of that ridiculous tent this evening. Please do not be late. I will be...awaiting your arrival." This did not bode well...
to be continued
