Wayward Sister 3
Chapter 1: Going Home.
Sailor Moon gulped, backing the Sailor Scouts behind her. Growling circled them, but they couldn't see what kind of Yoma they were facing.
"What the hell kind of Yoma is this?" Mars growled.
Nails grazed at her leg, leaving four slash marks on her thigh. She jumped and prayed on her scrolls. "Take that!"
The invisible monsters ripped the prayer papers in four. Mars' eyes widened, mouth hung open. "That's not possible. It should have worked!"
"I got this," Sailor Jupiter boasted, crossing her arms. "I call on Zeus to grant me the power of thunder! Supreme Thunder!"
Lightning hit the air and zapped the invisible creatures. Their growling turned into snarls.
"I think you made them mad, Jupiter," Venus gulped.
"I sense an evil aura." Mars bowed her head.
Sailor Mercury tapped her earring, and a visor flashed over her eyes. "This isn't a Yoma, guys. This is something else. There's this weird energy surrounding their bodies. They look like dogs, but bigger and nastier."
Sailor Moon wavered upon hearing the description. She had known creatures like them before, except she didn't know from where. There was a pounding in the back of her mind, like something hitting her brain, begging to be let free.
"We gotta get outta here!" Sailor Moon pushed the girls into a run. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she picked up the pace. The other sailors weren't far behind. Their screams rang through the air as the monster dogs chased them into the park.
Sailor Moon almost tripped at the beauty of the cherry blossom trees with their pink hue sparkling under the stars, except Mars was there to catch her, and it got her running again.
"We can't run forever!" Venus huffed.
The girls ended up cornered by the water. Either take a swim or fight the hounds.
"I can't swim!" Sailor Moon whined.
"Really?!" the girls yelled.
"Only doggy paddle." She mimics the paddle for them.
"You're useless, Sailor Moon." Mars griped.
"Do you think Tuxedo Mask will come and rescue us?" Jupiter whispered behind Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon's back stiffened as she turned to her friend. "He won't show. He doesn't love me anymore." Her voice broke. "We can handle this ourselves."
The girls backed up closer to the edge.
"We have to fight them. Let's give it our all." Jupiter reassured the girls. "Better than dying."
Sailor Moon smacked her hands together, and a wand grew. A yellow bow wrapped itself around the sceptre, and a huge red heart-shaped jewel sat on top. On the pink rod were moons and stars.
"Ready?"
"Ready!" The girls nodded.
"Moon sceptre!"
"Mars fire!"
"Jupiter thunder!"
"Mercury Rhapsody!"
"Venus love-me chain!"
"Attack!"
With all their powers combined, they blasted the growling invisible beasts. The whole park lit up, and for a moment, the outline of the dogs was visible to their sight. Blood gushed from the dogs' wounds, and two fell, unmoving. The other two snarled, their white teeth showing. The dogs' heads lowered as they stalked menacingly towards the girls.
"Can we do another attack?" Venus asked.
"I don't think so." Mars gulped. "I think it's time we take a dip."
The light show vanished, and so did the dogs. Their snarling became howls as a rose flew and struck the ground. The dogs yelped as Tuxedo Mask jumped in front of the girls, shielding them with his cape.
"Dogs need to learn to bow down to their masters…"
A whistle cut through Tuxedo Mask's speech, and the growling stopped. The girls glanced at each other, and puzzlement flashed across their faces. They slowly put down their arms.
"That was nice. A nice display of power." A man in a dark suit came forward, clapping. "Bravo!"
A memory stirred in Serena's mind, making her lightheaded. The pounding in the back of her head moved straight to the front. She wavered where she stood, and a name leaped off her tongue. "Crowley."
The girls gasped, staring at Sailor Moon.
"Do you know him?" Venus asked.
Sailor Moon gasped, shaking her head. "No, it just came to me. I don't know why I said it."
"I do, Serena." Crowley mused. "You're remembering your old life." He waltzed up to the girls, scratching his neatly trimmed beard. "Here, let me help." He blew dust in her face, causing her to cough repeatedly. Sailor Moon's eyes darkened and then lightened. A white light pierced her brain, forcing her head to fall into her hands.
"Sailor Moon!" the girls' shouted.
"I feel strange."
Sailor Moon stumbled and caught Tuxedo Mask's arm. She looked up into his eyes. "I'm going away. Fading… fading…"
"Sailor Moon?"
A tear slipped down her cheek as she jerked away from her former lover. "I'll take it from here." Sailor Moon's tone harshened. She turned back to Crowley. "You finally woke me up. Why are you here?"
"It's time to go home, Serena and to become his PET again." Crowley snapped his fingers, and the ground around the superheroes glowed. The girls screamed, clutching onto each other. Sailor Moon tried to jump from the circle to kill Crowley, but the barrier held her still.
"You're dead, Crowley. I promise you that."
"I can't wait." Crowley purred.
Their legs sank into the light.
"What's going on?" Venus cried.
"I can't move!"
The light grew brighter, blinding them as the ground sucked them in, then darkness replaced the light.
