A couple of days since Luz, King, Maxwell, Amity, Willow, Gus and even Lilith freed Eda from Emperor Belos imprisonment and everything at The Boiling Isles were in a mix of feelings.
Some were feeling the temptation to rebel against Emperor Belos when Maxwell informed them that their emperor has been lying to them. Some were feeling touched that a human like Maxwell has confessed and admitted his love to Eda and expressed the desire to marry her as some were feeling as though that a couple like Eda, a witch, and a human like Maxwell, was like that of a romantic love story. Some were all for it with Eda and Maxwell becoming a husband and wife one day while others were a bit hesitant about the prospect as if nervous or some were still prejudice about it. Some were taking the time to rest from the intense events as it was like something that survivors of a horrible war had been through.
But for the most part, many people were starting to warm up to humans more as they saw and heard of the kind actions from Luz and Maxwell. The word started to spread about how Maxwell used a spirit bullet magic to shoot Emperor Belos in his leg, that Luz and Maxwell battled against Emperor Belos and lived to tell the tale.
At the Emperor's Castle
Emperor Belos was recovering from the spirit bullet wound to his leg that was inflicted upon him by Maxwell. He was using a cane to give himself support as his wound was being healed up faster than anticipated possibly by magic as he had the bandages changed with new ones, the splints were still on it but there was no blood stains this time. As he was in his throne room. Kikimora approached him.
"Emperor Belos, are you sure you don't want to sit down? Even with magic healing your leg wound by that human, you shouldn't do anything reckless at this time." advised Kikimora.
"No need, Kikimora. I have strength enough to stand." Emperor Belos decline.
Kikimora nodded and obeyed.
"You are here because you know something that hasn't been reported to me?" guessed Emperor Belos.
"Yes your highness. It's about that male human teenager who shot you in your leg." Kikimora identified.
"His father has made it to The Boiling Isles." guessed Emperor Belos.
Kikimora was wide eyed at the fact that Emperor Belos has guessed the truth.
"And that Lilith kept him prisoner in the Conformatorium for a while as the two tried and failed to capture the boy and his human loving witch whom she's apparently seduced." Emperor Belos continued. "And Lilith lusted for this male human for a bit when she mistaken him for someone else but tried to cover it up once she learned he was human."
"It would appear to be so." Kikimora responded.
"Filthy abomination!" snapped Emperor Belos. "And after Lilith defected as she joined her sister to rebel against me, this boy's father has escaped from his prison cell."
"And he possesses the ability to perform magic like we do." Kikimora chimed in. "If the boy's father can do magic like everyone here, do you know what that means sire?"
"That Maxwell Logan's father isn't a human but is a witch. I've read the boy's mind and learned that his mother was human. I remember that a male witch from our world had disappeared without a trace and he was a delinquent, not like Eda mind you. This man, he was worse, much worse. He was the last remnant of a now deceased crime family that died out. If you thought Edalyn Clawthorne was bad enough, than you wouldn't believe how bad this man was." explained Emperor Belos. "He disappeared eighteen years ago and it looks like he's returned to retrieve his son."
Hearing this left Kikimora bewildered and surprised to hear that Daston Logan was from a dangerous crime family that is now long gone but what shocked her more was that Daston had mated with a human woman that resulted in the birth of Maxwell, who is half human and half witch. She felt as though this explained so much about Maxwell.
"So this Maxwell is a hybrid?" said Kikimora wide eyed. "But there's never been a human witch hybrid before."
"There was a legend long forgotten about if a witch and a human have a child together, than it would result in a human witch hybrid. Half human, half witch, but stronger than both. They would possess the ability to use their magic at full power even in the human realm or anywhere that doesn't have magic in the air system. They would be so powerful that it's possible the human witch hybrid could be stronger than me." Emperor Belos explained further. "It's bad that a human and a witch would make love to each other, it's an abomination when they have a child together, but with Maxwell being the first human witch hybrid, it's now a possible threat to both me and my plans for the day of unity."
"And this boy is probably making love to that rebellious witch Eda as we speak. This is beyond acceptable and is so disgusting." said Kikimora shaking in disgust. "A witch and a human, doing that, how revolting."
"That is the least of our worries. His own father is back and you have no idea what he's capable of. As I've said, if you think Edalyn Clawthorne was bad in terms of chaos and destruction, than Daston Logan more of a living hell." Emperor Belos warned.
Kikimora was showing signs of slight fear at the very mention of what Emperor Belos has told her but she tried to suppress it.
"My liege. Permission to ask. How did this crime family die out?" asked a hesitant Kikimora.
There was a minute of dead silence before Emperor Belos had answered her.
Emperor Belos made a sadistic gesture with his golden gloved right hand as he traced his index finger across his throat which he was subtly revealing that the crime family that Daston was from were all murdered by force as a last resort. Kikimora was shown to be visibly shaken.
"With Daston being the soul remnant of that crime family. The amount of chaos he's capable of committing is unspeakable. Months before he disappeared was when I...eliminated the problem. He probably hid in the human world this whole time." Emperor Belos revealed and suspected.
Kikimora knew that Emperor Belos was correct about Daston hiding in the human world but wasn't expecting him to reveal to her that he eradicated the crime family in order to stop their actions but Kikimora wondered about something else.
"What sort of crimes did they commit that disrupted your plans?" asked Kikimora.
"They attempted to overthrow me and take over all of The Boiling Isles. If they did that, we'd be living in a third world realm. They nearly succeeded if it weren't for me." revealed Emperor Belos. "But I have doubts that Daston is trying to finish what that crime family started. Since he's not here for me to delve into his mind. I don't know what he's up to but I can only guess."
"Should we put up wanted posters of him? And what should we do about the boy?" Kikimora suggested.
There was another minute of silence before Emperor Belos spoke.
"No." answered Emperor Belos.
"We're not going to do anything about the two?" questioned Kikimora.
"I've got something better in mind." Emperor Belos said being more specific.
Meanwhile, Back at the Owl House
At The Owl House, things were looking relatively calm. Lilith was pacing back and forth in the living room of the house as she appeared to be worried, stressed, having more on her mind than usual or all of the above. Hooty watched her as she paced back and forth.
"You stressed out, Lilith?" asked Hooty curiously.
"No." lied Lilith.
As she kept pacing back and forth. Hooty gave a grin as if guessing what was bothering Lilith.
"Did you see something you didn't mean to see? Maxie told us he accidentally saw some teenage girls naked by mistake when he was younger and he was bothered by it but he seems to have gotten over it." said Hooty trying to guess what was on her mind.
Lilith stopped and turned to see Hooty with a wide eyed expression. She didn't know that Maxwell had seen a naked woman or more before, she suspected that Maxwell had seen Eda naked before as she once caught Eda and Maxwell making out once but she never expected to know about Maxwell accidentally seeing naked women when he was younger.
"And I thought the first lady Maxwell saw naked was my sister." said Lilith blushing.
"Did Lulu see Maxie naked?" teased Hooty. "Is that why your pacing?"
"Ewww! No I didn't!" said Lilith annoyed. "And don't call me Lulu."
"You can tell Hooty what's bothering you. Even if you didn't see more of someone you never intended." chuckled Hooty blushing. "It's not like you walked in on Eda and Maxie, well, you know."
Lilith shook in disgust as she knew that since she's still getting used to her current situation as she moved in with Eda, Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell at The Owl House. She was still getting used to some of their habits or the living situation. She blushed at Hooty's words.
"I didn't see that but I caught them kissing when it looked like they needed some alone time. I'm lucky to have only caught them with their clothes still on." Lilith admitted. "What would you know about problems that dwell on other's minds?"
"You'd be surprised." came a deep male's voice.
Lilith and Hooty turned and saw that Maxwell was standing near the entrance of the hallway that led into the living room. Maxwell was wearing his pajamas but was completely decent while wearing a pair of white socks. He walked inside the living room till he stopped right in front of Lilith.
"Anything bothering you, Lilith?" asked Maxwell.
"No." lied Lilith.
"She's wigging out." Hooty blabbed.
"Oh titan, this unidentified house creature is annoying." groaned Lilith.
"Lilith, lets not try to take our anger out on someone else. Despite the teasing, Hooty's at least trying to level with you and trying to get you to talk about what's on your mind." said Maxwell keeping a calm tone. "Hooty, lets try to avoid teasing Lilith, this new lifestyle isn't easy for her and she's still getting used to it like how I struggled to get used to going to a new school."
"Okay." said Hooty showing merciful obedience.
"Lilith, I can tell that something is bothering you right now and it's not just because you caught me and Eda...kissing." said Maxwell as he blushed with a hiccup on the last words.
Lilith didn't know how to tell Maxwell what was bothering her as she just stood there looking at him. But Maxwell could tell what was bothering her as Lilith knew that Maxwell could read minds and also communicate with others by using his mind as well. She knew lying to him wouldn't work.
"You could tell I'm lying if I told you nothing is bothering me?" asked Lilith guessing the truth.
"Your mind isn't a closed book." answered Maxwell.
Lilith had been thinking about how she's now living at The Owl House with them, getting used to the new lifestyle she's in and the current living situation isn't easy for her as she still felt a sense of guilt for what she's done to Eda, Luz, King, Maxwell and even to their friends. The guilt was pumping through her like her blood through her veins. Lying would prove useless.
"It's about you still feeling guilty about your past actions towards me, Luz, King and Eda and our friends?" said Maxwell guessing the truth. "Believe me, I know. And I can tell that you putting that curse on Eda, back than, you thought it would only last for a day but it didn't, and now you wish you could go back and stop yourself from doing such actions. There's a lot of things good people have done that they wish they could take back out of guilt, shame and regret. And the guilt is still bothering you, isn't it?"
Lilith knew that Maxwell guessed the truth, even if he delved into her mind to figure it out. He was right. She still felt guilt and shame for what she did and she wished she could go back and undo it, even though there was no way to do so. She had a visibly saddened and guilty expression upon her face.
"I can't shake the feelings off me. Even though I reconciled with you, my sister, Luz and even King. It's still bothering somewhat bothering me. That, and I didn't expect to walk in on you and Edalyn...planting one upon one another. Even though I've seen you two kiss before, back when I was working with the emperor, aside the fact it was done in defiance against me back than. I'm still getting used to this new lifestyle and living here with all of you. I nearly tried to hurt you and Luz and I nearly lost a sister, all because of me." Lilith admitted. "On an unrelated note, if you and Edalyn are smooching or having alone time, doing, well, you know. Put something on the doorknob and lock the door."
Maxwell blushed a little from what she suggested for him and Eda if they were having some romantic alone time but he knew that Lilith admitting she still felt the painful guilt of her actions against them was the first step in trying to help her get over what she did.
"Would you feel the need to hug and let it out? My mother told me that it always does the body and mind a whole lot of good to talk about what's bothering you, let it out and hug it out." Maxwell suggested.
"Did it ever work?" asked Lilith. "I ask because me and Edalyn, well, our relationship with our mother at some point got sour and, well, you can honestly tell that me and my sister grew up differently than the kids of today."
"With my mother, it always worked. And I understand that everyone grows up differently. Us southerners are well aware of such things. People could grow up in a wealthy neighborhood, or a small town, big city, or even in a farming community. No matter where we're from, everyone grows up differently." Maxwell explained kindly. "Besides, Emperor Belos lied to you and used you. There's no way you could've known that. Unless you were telepathic."
Without warning, Lilith went forwards in an attempt to hug Maxwell but she stopped herself as if she felt like she wasn't allowed to hug him because of her past actions. Maxwell could tell she was probably punishing herself. Maxwell held out his hand for her to take hold of his hand in an attempt to console her.
"Lilith, you may have reconciled with Eda and the rest of us. But you need to let it out by at least talking about it and trying to hug it out. Keeping it inside is not good for the health. Stress can cause body aches, affects the mood, the emotions, our eating habits, sometimes it can lead to drug or alcohol misuse and the last thing you want is to be doing drugs and resort to drinking. You know my dad was an alcoholic and he smoked." said Maxwell attempting to console her till he just had a change in emotion.
There was a pause and Maxwell remembered that his father had found his way to the Boiling Isles and possibly still in his cell or possibly escaped and is running around out there. Mentioning his own father had reawakened his fear and worry of him which Lilith could tell instantly.
"I shouldn't have worked with your father in the first place. I know I'm to blamed for that." said Lilith.
"Do you know if my dad is still in his cell or if he escaped?" asked Maxwell curiously.
"I don't know. Last time I saw him. He was still in his cell, smoking a cigar and he said something very vile about one of the guard's own mother." answered Lilith.
Maxwell felt his fear dissipate and turned into a sense of anger towards his own father as he knew that his own father was known to say such vile things towards others and those related to them.
"What did he say about the guard's mother?" asked Maxwell.
Lilith was about to open her mouth to speak but she stopped. She blushed and looked hesitant to tell Maxwell what his own father said about one of the guard's mother till Lilith came closer to him and whispered to him what his father had said and he was wide eyed at what Lilith told him. After facing him once again, Lilith blushed deeper as if embarrassed to even say what she said out loud.
"I may not agree with the guards there at the Conformatorium but a gentleman never speaks ill about someone else's mother, their wife, girl friend and shouldn't speak ill about a lady like that. We're not even allowed to touch a lady." said Maxwell as he felt his gentleman instincts rising.
"I probably should've warned you about how vile and misogynistic his words were." said Lilith still showing red cheeks. "By aside from that. Everything I've said and done to you, Luz, King and even my own sister. I know I'm having to earn my keep, re-earn all of your trust, despite the fact that I'm slowly being forgiven. Still, I can't shake off the feeling of the guilt and shame."
"Would talking to Eda, Luz and King about this help? Maybe even talking to me about it?" Maxwell advised.
"That would be wise to do. But with my sister, I'm a bit hesitant as when ever I did feel this way in the past, she would tell me to stop whining about it, but you know me and my sister, back than, we were acting like the typical siblings. Luz, I don't know if she's comfortable around me yet, despite how positive her personality may be. King, the little furry guy would probably not understand too much about this because he's never done anything as bad as I've done but I do suspect that he's had his fair share of times when he's made a mistake that he wanted to make up for." said Lilith being hesitant. "Talking to you about it? I have no idea if I can do it."
"Something going on here?" came a voice.
They turned to see that Eda, Luz and even King had entered the room. Luz was appearing to be slightly tired as Eda was having an arm wrapped around her and pressing her head against her chest. King appeared to be blushing slightly as if he saw someone naked. Lilith immediately went into a panic.
"I didn't touch him!" cried Lilith raising her hands up.
"Who said you touched anyone?" asked King.
"And put your hands down. I'm not a cop that has you under arrest you know." said Eda slightly annoyed. "Is she freaking out?"
"Uhhhh...no I'm not?" lied Lilith.
"Lulu's still feeling horrible about her past actions." Hooty blurted out. "And she didn't touch Maxie."
Lilith groaned from being called "Lulu" but that feeling subsided as she shown her guilty, saddened face about how the truth about how she's feeling right now was out in the open.
"I'm having trouble trying to shake the feeling off." Lilith admitted as she relented.
Eda shown to be visibly annoyed but felt like someone needed to talk to Lilith about what she's feeling. She walked over towards Lilith while Luz accompanied them, Maxwell wrapping an arm around Luz.
"Lilly, you do realize that since you've moved in here with me. Things aren't going to be easy for this new lifestyle. Also, you'll have to be sure to never say or do anything to hurt my Luz or anyone I care about, and especially, never say or do anything that'll hurt my man." Eda advised.
"Your safe there. But I'm just struggling to shake these feelings of guilt and shame off as if it's like a dog is trying to shake water off it's body. At least that's how Maxwell put it." said Lilith.
Eda turned to look at Maxwell as if knowing that he's been known to say such things that are considered comparing sayings with analogies along with them.
"I said it once before when I told a zoo caretaker about how he could shake off the feelings of depression when he was moving in with family after his house got destroyed in a fire. I suggested to him that talking to his family would help." Maxwell said truthfully.
"Did it work?" asked Eda.
"Yes ma'am, it did." Maxwell answered. "But I do realize this is a slightly different situation."
"That it is." said Eda in acknowledgment.
"I know there's no easy way to help with what I'm feeling but how does one recover from such guilt and shame like I'm feeling. Even though I know everything I've said and done is my fault." said Lilith not sure what to do.
As they all turned to Lilith. They could see that the visibly saddened and guilty face she was wearing shown a sign that she still feels the pain that is the guilt and shame that she's been feeling since she realized her past actions could've gotten everyone hurt, killed, or worse. That she knows it was her fault, despite the fact that Emperor Belos had used her and lied to her.
"Lilith, that's the thing. When people feel this way. There's not really any way of escaping those feelings. Sure, what you've said and done to me, Eda, Maxie and King was bad but Emperor Belos had used you and lied to you for so long that you know Emperor Belos is to blame for a lot of this." said Luz attempting to reassure her. "We get that you cursing Eda was bad, even though you didn't know that it would go down the route that it went. But even though you helped us out when you realized what Emperor Belos was really up to. You can't expect that we'll all stop loving you as part of this family. Sure, your past actions we're not a fan of, but the only thing you can do about these feelings is do your best to give us a hand when we need it. Just like Maxie said: Anything to contribute."
Lilith looked at Luz and knew that her words were trying to penetrate her heart and mind like trying to hug her and rock her back and forth to console her. She felt her words were working but at a steady pace.
"I'll do anything to contribute. But there is one thing I know I want to do to at least try and feel better but it's going to sound childish." said Lilith.
"Sleeping in the same room with the rest of us there with you tonight?" guessed Eda.
Lilith didn't expect Eda to guess what she was about to suggest. She expected Maxwell to know before she told them but didn't expect Eda to figure it out before him.
"Could we?" asked Lilith.
"Alright, but in case you smell something foul in there. Ether open a window or the door to air out the room. Sometimes one of us fart big time, especially from what we all had for dinner tonight." said Eda.
"Anything that's got tons of protein can do that to you." said Maxwell blushing from admitting it.
"I'll keep that in mind." said Lilith briefly shaking from the idea of someone's farts smelling so foul.
Eda, Luz, King, Maxwell and Lilith walked out of the living room, going down the hallway and they formed a line up the stairs as they were heading for Eda's bedroom. Once they made it to the second floor, they walked towards the double doors that leads inside Eda's bedroom.
Maxwell closed the doors behind them as he snapped his fingers, causing the double doors to close automatically. They knew that all five of them sleeping in Eda's nest would be a tight fit but Maxwell had an idea as he suddenly snapped his fingers two times and muttered a word that sounded like "Lecho" and one big mattress appeared on the right side of Eda's nest while another appeared five feet away from the first in front of it. Each one had big, soft pillows appearing on them with a thick blanket over each one and bed sheets covering the mattresses.
"Me and Eda will be sleeping in the nest. Luz, you and Lilith will be sleeping on the mattress next to the nest, King, you'll sleep in the one five feet away from it." Maxwell instructed.
Luz took Lilith by the hand and led her to the big mattress that they'd be sharing while King headed for the one he was going to be sleeping in. Eda sat down in her nest while Maxwell looked out the big window that was in the bedroom. Than he turned to the rest of them.
"Something on your mind, Maxie?" asked King curiously.
"Just looking out the window in case of anything suspicious was wandering around out there. We're good." answered Maxwell.
"What's a zoo?" asked Lilith curiously.
Maxwell and Luz turned to Lilith as if they forgot that zoos were probably not common at the Boiling Isles. Eda caught on instantly about the question.
"We don't really have zoos at the Boiling Isles. The closest thing we have to a zoo around here would be the Bonesborough Garden Club where they keep palisman wood there to be grown in peace and safety because not going to lie. Palisman wood is starting to become hard to come by or harder to find more of them in recent years." explained Eda. "But I have been to the human realm before and I have snuck into a zoo once about three years ago. I was looking through areas to find more human trinkets to sell."
"By looking, you mean stolen?" Lilith corrected.
"You know me all too well, Lilly." chuckled Eda. "But at that time, there was a young little boy that bumped into me. Some blonde boy at what looked like age eleven with his hair grown out a bit."
There was a silence as Maxwell had a look of confusion as if he realized something or remembered something.
"What happened between you and this boy?" asked Luz.
"The half pint apologized to me saying he didn't mean to bump into a beautiful adult woman like myself. I figured that he was trying to flatter me but I told him unless he knew anywhere I can find more trinkets of any sort, than I'd suggest he goes back to his group." explained Eda. "But he kept following me and when I finally caught him following me. He was terrified, all blushing and shaking all over."
"That's odd. I remember seeing a woman in red when I went to the zoo for the first time at age eleven three years ago." Maxwell pointed out. "Did he claim he was lost at this zoo and was asking for your assistance?"
Eda turned to Maxwell as if he guessed the truth.
"After I asked him why he was following me. He told me that." answered Eda. "I tried telling him that I don't know where his group was but he told me that he got separated on the way out from the bathroom while he was on a school field trip there. Saying it was his first time at the zoo and he didn't know where everything was. He was a polite little boy around me and asked me if I could help him find his way back to his group. He gave me this puppy dog eyed look like how Luz does sometimes when she feels worried about me. So I gave in and decided to help the little half pint."
"Funny, I remember asking a lady in red to help me find my way back to my field trip group when I went to the zoo three years ago." said Maxwell starting to look as though he was slowly realizing something.
There was a brief silence as Eda was wondering if Maxwell had a similar experience.
"Did he find his group?" asked Luz curiously.
"It took us a while to find them but he was so worried that he'd get into trouble or get yelled at by the chaperone of the group and I decided to explain what happened to the chaperone who looked like some skinny, scrawny, four-eyed dork. But I did carry the kid over there in my arms to try and make it look like he was tired and couldn't walk for a bit. They glad that I found him, I explained to them that he got lost in the crowd, didn't know where anything is or where to find a member of security and I volunteered to help him out. And they bought it." explained Eda further. "I made sure that they didn't blame him which worked."
"Strange, the lady wearing red back than that helped me did the same thing. Did he happen to hug you and say "I'm grateful for you helping me find my way back, ma'am. My mother always told me that a man should always respect a lady, never hit nor touch them, and never invade their privacy as doing any of the above is impolite" ." guessed Maxwell.
"Yeah, he did." said Eda starting to realize something. "I will admit, it felt weird that he hugged me afterwards but I figured I could allow it that one time and awkwardly hugged him back. But I will admit, despite the fact this was all before I met Luz and Maxie. I did give him a kiss to his cheeks and forehead."
"The lady I met that day three years ago actually did the same." said Maxwell blushing. "Did he happen to have a southern accent and when you took off after returning him to his group. He looked back at you to see you one more time and you looked back, waving at him, than disappeared in a puff of smoke through teleportation?"
Eda was now surprised to know that Maxwell guessed the truth and that he had identical experience with the situation they spoke of as if he was there to witness it. She at first suspected him of delving into her mind but she doubted that would be the reason.
"Did you happen to delve into my mind, kiddo?" asked Eda curiously.
"No, I didn't." Maxwell revealed. "Reading your mind without your permission is an invasion of privacy. I can't do that without permission first. The reason why I pointed out a similar experience to this was because I too went through that at age eleven and the lady's description was the same, she worn a red dress, was tall and slender, had long, thick white hair with parts of it being gray, she even had the same laugh like you."
They all suddenly fell silent. What Eda and Maxwell said and pointed out from the details they described sounded like they both had a similar or identical experience to the mentioned situation.
"Maxie, did this lady in red happen to have a gold fang like tooth, pale, ivory skin, confident, sassy, and had zero respect for the law and those who uphold it and she said something like cops wouldn't know how to really do their jobs if someone written a message in the sky in big letters for them to see and it fell on top of them like a group dog pile?" asked Eda being oddly specific.
"Well yeah, she-" Maxwell stopped mid sentence.
Everyone suddenly realized something. Luz, King and Lilith looked at Eda, than at Maxwell, than looked at both of them as all of them and both Eda and Maxwell realized something.
"Wait a minute. That little blonde southern boy was you?" said Eda coming to a realization.
"That woman in red was you?" said Maxwell also realizing it.
"Looks like you two had fireworks for each other even before you met each other here." chuckled King.
Maxwell walked over towards Eda and he started to sit next to her in the nest.
"I wonder why we didn't know that we first met back than and didn't know about it when we first met at the Boiling Isles?" said Eda scratching her head.
"Probably because we didn't know who the other was or didn't get each others names. But I feel like an idiot for not knowing or recognizing you when we met at the Boiling Isles. I should've remembered." said Maxwell pointing out a fault of his and a reason why they didn't recognize one another.
Eda wrapped an arm around Maxwell and pulled him in for a one armed hug as his face was pressed against her chest. He could hear her heart pumping through his ear as he blushed deeper.
"It's no one's fault, little man. Besides, at the time, I had a tendency to forgot about some small details and all that junk. But something good came out of it." said Eda. "You actually got your first kiss earlier than you remembered."
Eda laughed with a snort as she firmly smacked Maxwell across the back, leaving him to blush deeper, letting out a cough and a slight laugh in one while Eda ended up going in to smooch him on the cheeks, causing him to smile.
"I actually thought you'd be a bit miffed that I didn't remember or recognize you at that time." said Maxwell feeling relieved.
"Well, like you've said. Back than, we had on idea who the other one was and didn't give each other our names. Besides, we were complete strangers at the time. Nothing to worry about." reassured Eda. "Alrighty, let's get some sleep guys."
"Night!" everyone said in unison.
As they all got situated and laid down in the bed with the blankets over them. Eda and Maxwell were in each others arms. Lilith slept next to Luz and ended up with an arm around her as if she was a cuddler when sharing a bed with someone for the night. King took a while to find a comfortable position. As they all fell asleep. Somewhere in an unknown area of the Boiling Isles. There was a man with long grey and blonde hair that was looking at a what looked like an abandoned house that no one lived in nor owned. The man himself was Daston Logan, and had a smile upon his face.
"The old Logan hideout. This will do nice for me to hide while I try to find that ungrateful son of mine." said Daston as he walked inside the house.
