It was not a good time to alive was what stuck in the mind of a young Izuku Midoriya who had been labelled as quirkless a week before. The aftermath of that decision stuck with him for ages;
he's best friend started to bully him, most people ignored him and his drive to become a hero lessened. Then one day while in the playground Izuku picked up a card that had a black dragon on it. Looking at the dragon and its red eyes made something swell up inside of Izuku, and soon in a flash of light the dragon depicted on the card stood where the boy was
"Hey Deku, it's about time I found you, you damn...nerd" Katsuki Bakugo said stopping as he saw the black dragon turn to face him
"Oh hey Kacchan" the dragon said
"Deku...is that you?" Katsuki said
"Yeah it is, why wouldn't it be?" Izuku asked as the dragon turned back into Izuku
"Y-Y-Y-YOU TURNED INTO A DRAGON!" Katsuki said
"What, what did I look like?" Izuku asked before he two boys saw the card laying on the sand
"Like that" Katsuki said, they looked at each other before Izuku picked up the card again and with a flash of verdant and onyx light turned into the dragon again. After turning back Izuku and Katsuki looked at each other
"Whoa" they said as the bell rang making the two boys dash back into the classroom. They looked at the card more and discovered it was a Yu-Gi-Oh monster card dubbed the 'Red Eyes Black Dragon' so they wondered if that was the only monster Izuku could turn into.
They tried card after card revealing that Izuku could transform into a variety of monster card he focused on, used spells and trap card as if they were his own ability, though ritual cards were a bit trickier same with those that summon fusion monsters. But there were a select few monsters that Izuku loved transforming into such as the Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Armed Dragon Lvl 5, Breaker the magical warrior, Blue Flame swordsman, Elemental Hero Neos and Destiny Hero Dasher.
"Hey Deku, check this one out!" Katsuki said holding up a card
"Dark Magician Girl?" Izuku asked "I don't know Kacchan" he said
"What not?" Katsuki asked
"Well. for one I'm not a girl so who knows what will happened when I try it" Izuku said
"What's the worst that can happen?" Katsuki asked
"I Don't know" Izuku asked as he held the card and used it creating a burst of pink and green light "Well?" a delicate voice said as Izuku opened his eyes and saw that he had transformed into the Dark Magician Girl
"It worked" Katsuki said with glee
"WHAT!" Izuku said as he looked at the nearest reflective surface, seeing that he was indeed a copy of the Dark Magician Girl. "Oh okay that is interesting" he said before turning to get a good look at himself,
"You Should stay that way Deku, you look good" Katsuki snickered making Izuku pout, but whacking Bakugo over the head with his sceptre
"Oh shut up" Izuku said as he fired a bolt of pink magic at his friend which burnt the ground until it blew up a tree.
"RUN!" the pair shouted as they quickly ran away from the burning tree.
"That was too close Kacchan" Izuku said as he changed back to his normal form
"Still it was pretty awesome!" Katsuki cheered
"Yeah it is" Izuku said as the pair started to walk home
That night after Izuku told and showed his mother his quirk, who tried to flood the apartment again from crying, he was clutching his Wing Kuriboh plushie in bed when he heard a crashing sound out in the kitchen
"LEAVE US ALONE!" Inko was heard shouting
"SHUT UP BITCH! YOU KNOW WE WOULD BE HERE FOR THE MONEY" a voice said "YOU KNOW EVERYONE IN THIS BUILDING PAYS PROTECTION TO US" he shouted
"Maybe we should do something to the kid" another one snickered
"YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE" Inko shouted as Izuku got out of bed and went over to the cards in his collection and looked through them to get the right one so he could defend his mother, he needed to be a hero and that meant one card in particular. He grabbed the card he had selected and felt the familiar surge of power meant that his quirk was activated and transformed him into the form of the monster he chose. "Hero time" he said
"NO, IZUKU IZUKU!" Inko shouted as the snickering goon walked to his door
"Time to say hello to" the goon said about to open the door
"ELEMENTAL HERO NEOS!" Izuku said busting out of the door as said duel monster knocking the thug back
"What the?" the leader asked going for a gun, only to have Izuku grab the gun and crush it in his bare hands
"Want to try that again?" Izuku asked as he glared at the thugs
"A HERO, WHERE DID HE?" the leader said as he grabbed a cleaver and pointed it at the woman "Get lost or the woman becomes bitcharoni!"
"Like you could do that" Izuku said as he charged up an attack as the thug charged at him, one of them making a portal outside where they all slammed into Izuku
"GET HIM!" they all shouted as the portal closed
"IZUKU!" Inko shouted panicking before reaching for the phone
"that hurt" Izuku said a she stood up, he's Neos form still holding strong "Okay that is a good thing"
"ALRIGHT PUNK!" the thug's leader said as he stood up and cracked his knuckles and had his men charged
"Oh poop" Izuku said as he crossed his arms and held his ground as they all punches and kicked him 'I can't keep it up' he thought as he gathered energy in his hit and punched the ground making a shockwave knocking them back before he stood up, his legs were shaking since he had used so much energy
"Any last words?" the leader said as created a portal to somewhere
"I AM HERE!" a voice said as a blur of red, white, blue and yellow knocked out the portal maker
"ITS ALL MIGHT!" they shouted
"So you are the ones shaking down these apartments huh, well then" All-Might said as he moved his arm back
"OH SHIT!" the thugs said as a wave of air pressure came at them.
"No way" Izuku said as he watched the thugs who threatened his mother get knocked down.
"Now you" All-Might said as he rounded on Izuku who looked nervous
"This isn't what it looks like, man you were so cool, please don't hit me" he said before transformation wore off and standing where Elemental Hero Neos was, stood a young boy
"You were that alien?" All Might question
"Yeah he's name is Elemental Hero Neos" Izuku said
"You mean like the Yu-Gi-Oh card?" the hero asked
"Yeah" Izuku blushed
"Just that one?" All-Might said kneeling down to his level
"No, I can turn into other ones as well" Izuku said as the sirens of the police was growing
"I see, well" All-Might smiled softly "that is an impressive quirk"
"really? Izuku asked excited making the greatest hero to smile brightly
"Yes, in fact it is a quirk of a hero!" he boldly stated
"Wow" Izuku said amazed that one of his heroes was praising his voice
"Your gambit paid off Mana" a voice said as a Dark Magician girl watched the scene
"Thank you sir" Mana said as a Black Lustre Soldier walked out of the shadows
"He doesn't seem to have access to much power" BLS Said
"He is only young but as his current state I can tell he can access the powers of my master, maybe even the power of the Blue Eyes or yours"
"So 2500-3000 attack points" Black Lustre Soldier said "I look forward to what else he will do with that power, obviously you have set the limits" he grunted
"I have, he will not be able to access any of those until he is truly ready" Dark Magician Girl said puffing her cheeks up
"Indeed, he may be the greatest of the heroes of the Duelling realm" BLS smile as he turn, his cape fluttering in the wind. "I also suggest you send her to watch over him as he develops this power" he said
"Really, she might be too much, what about" she was about to finish
"NO!" Black Lustre soldier snapped before sighing "You know you are too important to our realm to be watching over a novice, while I think Valery will be good for him"
"I see, and when will she be deployed?" DMG asked nervously
"That depends on her dear loving older sister" the chaotic knight smiled as he walked back into the shadows
"That is mildly irritating" she said before smiling as she saw Inko and Izuku happily hugging "But that is why I gave him the power. Quirk: Duelist" she said disappearing into glimmering pink glittering light "I wish you luck in your mission to defend both worlds Izuku Midoriya" her voice echoed as Izuku fell asleep in his mother's arms.
G'day Guys Grizz here and so this idea came to me last year when I had a cracked knee and was resting, and looking back on it I can see its sort of an original idea since most fics with the Yugioh franchise and My Hero Academi has Izuku just being a duelist, so I figured why not give him a qurik that he can use in conjunction with Yugioh cards? and thus this fic was born...that and boredom, so I hope you enjoy this fic
