"Hey Rockie, wake up, it's morning you sleepyhead." Rocket heard a familiar but energetic voice beside him say, making the two year old male kit remember about Piper.
It was a few days after he had found the female porpucine cub in a Japanese zoo, giving her the super-soldier serum he had been given so he would not be lonely when the waitress that was his adoptive mom of sorts went to work but Piper loved being around him, and had brought her home with him but after convincing his human mom, Piper was allowed to stay with them which made Rocket happy, forgetting they had been up late stargazing so had slept in noticing the waitress had left for work leaving breakfast for them.
"Yeah wr were up late, and made wishes on stars, I hope the landlord doesn't know, he thinks I have a condition which makes me furry he has no idea what I really am, I helped come up with that." he said seeing a smile on Piper's face at what he just said, kissing his furry little cheek, seeing it go pink smirkimg at her.
"Mmmm, this cereal is really good, mama must have gotten groceries." Piper said seeing him drinkijg chocolate milk which was good seeing him giggling making her nervous guessing he was getting riled up hoping things would be okay, seeing him finding a guitar seeing him pkace his paws on the strings, imitating the guitar players at the karaoke bar, that he had lived in after escaping from the lab impressing Piper as he was good.
"I used to live in a karaoke bar after I escaped from the lab, then the bad guys tried to capture me." he told her.
"Was this before you found me?" Piper asked him, seeing him nodding in reply impressing her understanding why he had snuck into the zoo she had been living in, he had been lonely squeezing his paw gently which made him feel better because those memories made him sad.
"Sorry Rockie, I forgot that makes you sad." she said softly.
"It's okay, mom was like that when I told her." Rocket said.
He then found a pair of rose-tinted shades which made him look like a rockstar seeing him chuckle, lookijg in the mirror plus was still in diapers along with Piper because they had accidents which their mom understood, saying they would learn to use the litterbox seeing him grin, asking if she was okay seeing her nod.
"Yeah, maybe you'll be a rockstar when you grow up." she said to him.
"That sounds awesome, what about you?" he said .
"I don't know." she replied to him.
"You'll figure it out you know?" he replied.
They then snuck out and went to the park having fun on the playground, seeing some big Terran kids bothering them,until Piper shot some of her quills at them which made them run off, seeing Rocket giggle fist-bumping her unaware a male duckling was watching them impressed at what Piper had did to those jerks seeing Rocket shy.
"The name's Howard, Howard Da Duck, what's your names?" he said to them.
"Piper and that's Rockie, we're best friends." Piper replied to him.
"Cool that's awesome as I don't have many friends." Howard replied.
Rocket wondered if Howard had been given super-soldier serum like the men in suits had given him, making the male duckling confused by the male's question until Piper helped Rocket explain to him, seeing Howard impressed.
"Nope, not an experiment, I was born like this, boy." Howard answered.
"Ohhhhh, okay that's cool." Rocket replied as they were playing.
By the time Kimikyo came home, Rockie and Piper were on the couch watching TV guessing they were tired from whatever adventures they had while she'd been gone at work, getting them juice which made Piper relieved because playing with Howard had tired them out so it was nice to just relax, deciding not to tell their mom about Howard drinkijg out of tumblers since they sometimes spilt juice.
"Arigatou mommy, we could use it, after having some fun." Rocket told her.
"You're welcome you two, I had a long day so need to lie down." Kimi told them.
Piper and Rocket understood so would be quiet, to let their mom rest, deciding to help her, knowing she might need a drink, knowing she liked tea which Rocket knew to make, watching their mom, letting Piper help him bringing the cup to their mom surprising Kimi guessing they had wanted to help her, after her saying she had a long day and Rocket had to curb his fixation involving pressing buttons he was not supposed to touch, like the ones on the microwave, or the vacum cleaner which he loved riding on.
"Arigatou but you didn't have to, you're kids and I'm your mom you shouldn't worry about this stuff, please tell me he didn't press buttons." Kimi told them.
"Nope I made sure Rockie didn't get tempted, mommy." Piper told her.
"Good, I just need to rest for a little bit, then we'll take things from there." Kimi replied.
They left her be, goimg to tneir room to play hearing the doorbell makimg them curious as it was the lamdlord making Rocket quiet hoping they were not in trouble seeing him leave unaware Piper noticed the expression on his furry face, asking why he was scared.
"That guy owns the building and everybody has to give him mpney to live here, including mommy, he kicks those who don't pay put." he explained feelijg her hug him assuring him that would not happen pointing towards an overflowing jar of money including tips their mother had gotten from resturant customers, plus sometimes she brought leftovers home for them.
