My new story!
I've been waiting to write a DBZ fanfiction for a while!
I will say that this story will be very... story driven. This is an OC centered story so I have to develop the MC first, so if you're expecting romance early then this is not the story for you.
Again, I've been waiting to write a DBZ story though and I think this will be very good.
Check out my profile for other stories that you may or may not be interested in!
I do not own Dragon ball or any of it's characters besides my own. I also do not own the cover image, I literally found it on google and was like "This is exactly how I envision my character!"
Enjoy.
Kazuto Aki sat in his last class during the day and simply stared at the TV in front of him that had a slide on it showing a bunch of math formulas that he could hardly understand, either way, he needed this class so that he could get all of his credits, so he pushed through until the very end.
Once the time hit 3:55, people began to get up and leave, Kazuto followed everyone out even though the Professor hadn't finished his lecture. Truthfully, many college students had other classes or a job, so if a professor took longer than their designated ending time, they had every right to leave so that they could handle their other responsibilities.
Kazuto simply used it as an excuse to leave on time instead of staying later than needed, even though he probably should have stayed to listen to the end of class due to him not being overly smart or anything. He wasn't some genius prodigy that didn't have to study or some kid that could study for a couple of hours and still pass.
No matter how much he studied, he still barely passed any of his classes.
He walked back to his dorm room and saw his roommate sitting in the room like always. Hardly ever leaving his side of the room or even his bed for that matter, and it bothered Kazuto a bit due to him never having privacy in his own room.
His roommate wasn't the most athletically built fellow, in fact, he was shaped like he hadn't run a day in his life. He had glasses, round black eyes, and was the very definition of a sweaty anime dweeb.
"Sup Kazuto! Look at this anime waifu poster that I got! Isn't she hot?" Kazuto's roommate, Ikki Sato, said while showing him a picture of the auburn colored, long hair of the infamous android 21. Her curves being the most notable thing on the poster, which confused Kazuto a bit, but he was still impressed by it.
"No way they sell these in stores, especially to children."
"Of course not dude. I made this myself by taking a picture off the internet, blowing it up, and printing it out on a big sheet of paper with some other modifications in between but still."
Kazuto put down his bookbag and sat on his bed. "That has to be illegal right?"
Ikki laughed, then suddenly he was in the corner of the room crying and muttering a bunch of I don't knows with tears rolling down his face like a waterfall. Suddenly Ikki's energy returned to him, and he pointed at Kazuto.
"I could make you a poster if you'd like. I know how much you like Android 18 and all, I could definitely get you a hot poster of her."
A blush of embarrassment appeared on Kazuto's light brown skin, and he looked down for a bit, only to look back up with a look of anger on his face. "Why do you think I like Android 18?"
"Dude you are obsessed with blond anime waifu. Ino from Naruto, Riza from Full Metal Alchemist, Saber from Fate/Stay night, and finally Android 18 from Dragon Ball Z."
It didn't answer Kazuto's question at all, but he was now wondering how his roommate knew so much about him in the first place, but they spoke often and had sort of became friends so the longer he thought about it, the more he'd understand why know so much about him.
"That's not completely true."
"Whatever you say Kazuto." Ikki said dismissively. "Don't even let me talk about your feti-"
Kazuto got up and punched Ikki on the top of his head, leaving a very noticeable bump the size of a walnut. "Don't you have a class you need to be attending?" Kazuto said through his teeth.
Ikki nodded his head at an alarming speed and ran out the door. Kazuto watched as the door had closed behind him and locked the door rather aggressively. He looked in the mirror and fixed up his neatly trimmed black hair, which was style in bowl cut, looked into his own dark brown eyes, and checked his body. He'd been working out a lot and he developed his body into a nice lean shape that he had seen on TV for so long. He changed his clothes from his button up shirt and black dress pants, to a tight compression shirt and shorts so that he could go work out.
Leaving his room, he locked the door and headed directly to the gym which was across the street from his dorm, and it made going to the gym a lot easier and it motivated him to go more now that it was directly in front of him.
As he waited on the sidewalk for the pedestrian crossing to give them the go ahead, he heard a woman saying "stop" in an uncomfortable tone. He turned to his left and directly beside him was a site that disgusted him. A man was groping a woman right beside him without a care in the world, even the woman's face was crimson red, and it angered him to his core.
Placing a hand on the man's shoulder, he tightened his grip causing the man to yelp in pain.
"Don't you see I'm busy here!" The older man yelled. He had a look of a pig and was just outright disgusting. His breath smelled of booze, his body smelled of cheese, and his hair looks greasy which only made him look like a fat slob that lived in his mother's basement.
"I can see that this woman is uncomfortable with how you're touching her, so if you don't want to get the police involved, I suggest you leave here without a single word."
The older man laughed. "You think you're so tough don't ya, well how do you like this?" The clearly drunk older man then pulled out a weapon. A gun to be exact. A standard Glock 19 that sent a shiver down Kazuto's spine. He wasn't dumb, a single bullet could kill him, and this man was too drunk to think clearly so things could get bad.
"Calm down sir…"
"Don't tell me to calm down!" The older man yelled. The yelling caused more people to look his way and once they saw the gun in his hand, people began to scream in fear and run. Someone bumped into the older man, causing the old man to pull the trigger, sadly the aim was no longer on Kazuto, instead it was on the woman who he was trying to protect.
Kazuto jumped and tackled the woman, but the next thing Kazuto knew, he was standing directly in front of the stairs. White stairs that had kept going until it was above the clouds. He felt compelled to walk up the stairs and was about to take the first step, until-
"Kazuto Aki, you did amazing there on Earth."
"Huh?" He responded as he turned around only to be standing directly in front of the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. She had white majestic hair, piercing blue eyes that held the same bright color as the sky, and wore a white dress that flowed in the soft wind.
The woman smiled as she watched him staring holes into her, but she was used to this happening, but it had happened millions of times over.
"My name is Hazel, and I am one of the many Gods of your world. I am here to congratulate you on your success."
Kazuto was stuck and didn't know what to say. "Am I dreaming? What success?"
"I know this is all a bit confusing but listen carefully to my next words." Hazel said slowly as walked closer to him. "As of a few minutes ago, you died saving that woman from the man who almost killed her."
Suddenly, his entire world flipped upside down. "I-I died?" Kazuto said, then dropped down to his knees as the reality of the situation began to dawn on him. Kazuto wasn't dumb, but this was all so much to take in. One moment he was pushing a girl out of the way and the next he was about to walk up the stairs of heaven.
"Unfortunately yes. Now you must choose your next path, Kazuto. Will you like to walk the stairs of heaven and go into a world where there is only happiness, or would you like to be reincarnated into a world of your choosing?"
"What do you mean, a world of my choosing?"
"You have made it far in this life. You've been well educated, you've kept your vessel in excellent shape, and you earned the title of hero."
Kazuto head started spinning as he listened to what the Goddess had said. "I don't understand."
"When you go through life, you earn points that are then forged into your soul. For example, geniuses are made from souls that have been really worked on. To further explain, if you had graduated college, then some of that knowledge would be ingrained in your soul which would transfer to your next vessel. That same thing applies to everything else."
"So life down there is nothing but a test?"
"If you'd like to call it that. We God's call it the forging of the soul, regardless, now you have a choice to make. Would you like to be reincarnated into a world of your choosing, or would you like to finish the complete the forging of your soul and pass on completely?"
He took a moment as he thought about what to do next. "What could I have done better in my life?"
"Well you could have had children, got a nice career, learned martial arts, learned survival tactics, and found a soulmate to start. Don't stress it though, many of your past lives hadn't achieved nearly the same feats you did."
"So my past lives basically sucked?"
"Your past lives weren't placed in your world."
Kazuto stared into Hazel's eyes and tried to put the pieces together as best he could, but he had so many questions he wanted to ask, but it felt like he had little time left.
"Any world of my choosing? Can I possibly get a list?"
The Goddess smiled at him with a warm smile. "Of course."
Suddenly a screen popped up in front of his face. "Once you pick the world, the vessel customization will commence, then your soul will be transferred into that world where you'll live your new life."
"R-right." Kazuto said nervously, then looked at the list of worlds he could choose from.
Naruto
Dragon Ball Z
Twilight
Harry Potter
Avatar the Last Airbender
Fairy Tail
"I looked into your life and saw all the world that stood out to you the most. I hope that this list is acceptable."
Kazuto smiled as he looked at the list. "This list is perfect, thank you Goddess Hazel."
"Now choose." Hazel said in a soft voice with a smile on her face. Kazuto then pressed on a single world in which he would carry on the forging of his soul.
Dragon Ball Z.
