We SMG4 Fans all know what happened to Desti in the Anime Arc. We all know that Meggy changed herself from Inkling to Human. We all know that she won for Desti. But we all have to wonder sometimes…

What if there was more to Desti than just a Rebel Girl with a Change of Heart? What if we saw more of Meggy's Old Self before her Human form that she's currently in? What if we could have gotten an Arc that would take place long before the events of The Anime Arc that were already done?

Well then, let me all tell you a tale…Of an Arc, that it could have been, and what we could have got.

Prologue: The Eighth, The Song, and Their Fate (How It All Started)

Long time ago, Inklings and Octarians fought in a Great Turf War when the Inklings and the Octarians were in a World War battling each other for the control of the surface.

Many Inkling Soldiers, "The Squidbeak Splatoon" lead by Cap'n Cuttlefish, fought the Octarians, lead by Octavio (Which is spanish for "Eighth"), in the Great Turf War, for the Inklings were the Strongest Humanoid Sea Creatures of the species of Squid of the Cephalopod Family, who blast over the Octarians for they were the most evil creatures who wanted to dominate their land and trying to steal the Great Zapfish.

Unfortunately for the those Octopus Creatures, The Octarians failed and lost in the Great Turf War for The Inklings that saved their land as they forced the Octarians to live in the Underground, for as long as they could survive deep below the world.

Many years after The Great Turf War, the Octarians were sworn to take revenge on the Inklings for their loss in the Great War as they found a way to escape the underground. But the Inklings weren't the only species who live in Inkopolis, there were also Octolings, another humanoid species of Cephalopod of Octopus, for they were accept in Inkopolis.

The Inklings and Octolings fight the Octarians in another battle for the Octarian King, DJ Octavio, who wanted the Great Zapfish, and take over Inkopolis for He and his people did not want to be stuck in the underground forever.

But surely, there was a chance, that could change the King of the Octarians' mind, to leave the city of Inkopolis alone. For you see, Cap'n Cuttlefish adopted an Octoling Daughter after the war had ended. This Octoling Woman was so different from the rest, that she was not involved in another war when the Octarians came back for revenge.

Her name was a meaning to her beautiful singing voice, for she had a heart and an act of kindness, a belief in love for she sees the others who are deeply good inside of them, she had long hair, pink as flamingo, her skin, hispanic, her eyes, blue as the sky. Her name was "Melody", which is a Greek Word and Name meaning "Song".

The Adopted Octoling Daughter of Cap'n Cuttlefish wanted to stop this mess for she wanted peace between Inklings, Octolings, and Octarians together in Harmony. But since the Inklings and Octolings keep failing for the Octarians and their King's Strong Power to Grow, Melody had no choice for she had to sacrifice herself for her people.

She begged for DJ Octavio as she asked him for a chance for the Inklings and Octolings that if he would leave them alone, she would become his Bride and even the New Queen of the Octarians. The DJ wasn't too sure, but if he wanted to have a Queen, he would have to have a new generation for his kingdom of heirs. So, the DJ did what Melody asked, and took her as his Bride as he took her to Octo Valley, a new land where Octarians had to live instead of going back to the Underground.

As the New War ended, Melody no longer lived in Inkopolis for she had to be the Queen, the Wife of the DJ. For this choice for her would have Octavio to leave Inkopolis alone, but he still sworn to take revenge on them. Melody and Octavio opened with each other, as they got to know each other, how Octavio immediately started to love her singing voice after he showed her how she could sing, and how they could rule the new lands of Octarians together. They had a dream that one day, they could come back to Inkopolis.

Melody dreamed of bringing peace to them with the Octarians like she wanted, but Octavio wanted the war to continue and have the Great Zapfish. After they got to know each other out of an act of kindness, They Wed in Octo Valley for Melody became the Official Queen of the Octarians. She helped her Husband with her Music, for she was his Singing Voice and the DJ's beats were her beats.

But soon as a few years passed, Melody started to get pregnant for this was the time for Octavio to have heirs with her for their Kingdom. She had his children inside of her for the Queen was expecting what their children might look like. During which after Nine Months of Pregnancy, Melody started to give birth to one of their heirs in the Bedroom as the Octarians helped their Queen giving birth.

Among those heirs were one of the first ones, the eldest and older child of the Family. It was that newborn of a Octoling that the Queen gave birth to her King's first child and then their other Octoling Children. Knowing that the first one came first before the younger ones came out, it was Desti that was born.

Desti was the eldest daughter among Octavio and Melody's children, she was the older sister of her younger siblings, Zoey and Ashton, who were also Octolings like their Mother. Desti's name was French meaning "One Certain Fortune; Fate" but to her Mother, her name meant "Angel of Octavio". The name meanings for Desti had two resemblances of her childhood, "Life and Death", for she was the rebellious child in the Family. She was her Mother's Angel in Melody's Eyes and her Father's Devil in Octavio's Eyes.

Octavio taught his children to become royal for one of his kids would take over Octo Valley, as the New Ruler and Next Generation of Octarians someday when he retires. Desti was on her Father's Side, for she obeyed her Father's Commands and would help him to take over Inkopolis to continue his revenge while Zoey and Ashton were on their Mother's Side, for she wanted to come back to Inkopolis and bring peace in the City between the Races of Humanoid Cephalopods and the Octopus Creatures.

Not only did Desti obey her Father's Commands and make his Wishes come true, but she wanted to take over Inkopolis for when she and her family take over for their people, as someday, she will become the New Ruler of the Octarians in the Future with their new land.

But that was all changed, until when an Orange Inkling Girl ruined it.

NOTE 2: This fanfic takes place after the events of The Rapper Bob Arc and this takes place long BEFORE the events of the Anime Arc. So in a way, it's meant to be my own "What If" AU scenario.
