Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about ReZero? Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own ReZero, Tappei and a few others do.

There were countless warriors wandering the lands… Many of whom held their own allegiances and philosophies to which brought them to this point.

"Ow… Last fight really took a lot out of me." The warrior muttered and pulled a hand away from his side.

Thick with crimson blood… His blood. That last fight was stupid, one that almost cost him his own life. He had underestimated how many soldiers the man he was hunting had… One of them managed to get a lucky shot with a knife that took him out of the fight.

And then he retreated, bleeding from his wounds heavily. He had made sure he wouldn't die from them… But he wouldn't be able to run much further.

"Damn it… I wish they didn't get in that lucky a hit." The warrior said and placed his hands on his hips.

He grunted and slowly slid down the tree, pain lancing up and down his body. He could barely feel his legs and was amazed he could still stand on his own two feet. The figure sighed, a chill going through his body as he looked up at his broken body.

He could feel the agony lancing up and down his frame when it came down to it? He was not in much shape to resist someone who came after him when it came down to it.

The figure turned and looked up at the moon which looked down at him with interest. He knew very well what was going to happen sooner or later. He didn't want to die… Which made his desire to fight all the more unnatural to him.

"I'm starting to wonder if I ever had a plan when it comes down to it." The figure muttered to himself and ran a finger over his wounded eye.

He felt such amusement at his own stupidity… If only because it reminded him of how much he needed to improve… And how it brought his mind off the pain wracking his almost shattered body.

"It was a good fight… I'd give it that. I'm just glad they didn't do any permanent damage." The figure muttered while trying his best to brush off his arms. "Then again? I'm glad I didn't pass out from shock or blood loss." The figure muttered to himself as he hummed.

He knew very well that anyone who came along had an easy shot trying to killing him. It wouldn't be much of a chore or hassle when it came down to it.

"Then again? I'm far from out of the woods yet." He stated to himself as he sighed and looked at his legs.

He had taken the knife from there, someone jamming it into his limbs. He knew very well that someone had tried to kill him with said knife which made his speed cut down to almost nothing. The figure sighed and looked at the damage that it had done.

"Well… At the very least I can limp away…" The figure muttered to himself as he cracked his fingers.

The figure tapped on his eye badge as he hummed and then tried to get ready. He knew if he stuck around? Then he'd get killed and there was almost nothing he could do.

"Least want to die on my own terms when it comes to brass tacks." He stated as he hummed and then started to limp away when it came down to it.

Still? This pain was grasping his legs with an agony that couldn't be dealt with at the moment.

"Damn it…" The figure said with a pained smile as he leaned on the tree once more. He sighed to himself and shook his head once more. "I'm going to die and there will be nothing I can do, aren't I? That's how I die, as a forgotten mercenary or such." He stated to himself and then turned to look at the tree.

He brushed off his arms and felt a pain lance through his body with such an agony. He knew very well what would happen down the road.

He didn't notice the figure following him. He couldn't smell them like he usually could.

The figure rounded on him and he blinked as he turned to them.
