Moving to a new place is never the easiest thing in the world, especially when your foreign. Judai was learning this first hand when his fathers job required them to relocate to America.. some where in Willow, Colorado.
So not only he was moving somewhere unfamiliar but in the dead of winter as well. Snow pushed against the car as his father drove the van through the dark road heading to their new home in Willow.
"Oto-san is it safe to be driving at this speed in snow..?" Judai's words came out a little shaky, only being the age of six he was worried. He knew snow was never safe to drive in, his mother drilled that a lot whenever his dad left the house back home in Japan, except there was street lights to at least see what they were doing.
"Don't worry Judai. Nothings gonna happen-" He turned to look at Judai when his mother cried out. "Yazaki, look out!" His father looked back in time to see animals on the road as he swerved the car just slamming the side into a tree. Judai slammed his back into the car door groaning. As the glass broke behind him and cut into his shoulder.
The young boy blacked out as he felt the car door being popped open behind him and felt the cold snowh under him. He was out of it but he wasn't out of it enough to not feel the tugging that was happening. He was being dragged away from the car. Out of fear he kept his eyes close as he felt himself being dragged into the brush of the woods.
He took a peek around him seeing trees high into the sky and all around nearly covering everything and seemingly making everything darker. For some reason the trees has Lanturns in them as if lighting up the woods with small lights making it look like stars in the woods. His lips parted feeling the cold air on his tongue as he looked in awe at the sight.
He didn't know how long the animal dragged him into the woods but he could feel others nearby nearly brushing against him. He could feel semi coarse fur, thick and soft brush against the sides of his arms. He licks his dry lips trying not to get anxious or scared to draw their attention.
His breathes escaped him were very shallow as he was slowly feeling the cold seep into his back and his bones. He let out a small shudder. He felt the tug on his hoodie stop as he suddenly felt a warm muzzle and tongue work on his shallow cut from the window glass in his shoulder. He trembled at the feel as he felt teeth graze his arm and shoulder where the glass sunk into his shoulder.
'Its warm… God don't let me die in this place…' A tear escaped his brown eyes as his eyes looked up at the sky barely seeing the wolf lapping at his shoulder trying to work its way pass the glass and into the wound. He felt the other wolfs circle him nipping at the wolf that was having its field day of lapping the blood leaking through the glass.
The one licking him let out a controlled growl as if telling the other two to back off. The other two impatient nipped at Judai's hand causing a shallow teeth marks. This made the one by his shoulder turn and snap at the two impatient brats next to him.
Tears continued to escape Judai's eyes as he heard a howl in the distance, which caught the attention of the other three who looked up and away from Judai. It's as if the howl beckons the others. With one last look at Judai's still form on the ground they fleet the cold boy on the ground alone and scared.
Judai took a panicked breath as he realized the wolfs had left him, his attention dazed out of fear. He heard the sound of another animal walking by as he felt a nose prod his face as he gazed up.
He couldn't see what it was but suddenly had his hoodie pulled over his head and eventually felt himself being pulled to sit up. When he managed to sit on his butt on the ground the animal let go off his hood which fell over his face.
Judai in his confusion lifted the hoodie over his head and behind him which covered his short brown locks and caramel orange crown. His brown eyes met green.. rather Emerald green eyes of a young wolf. A wolf with rich dark blue fur, tho he could barely make out the color in the dim lighting of the Lanturns.
The wolf wagged it's tail and got on its legs and started walking away and looked back at him after 5 feet. Judai looked at it confused but wondered if the young wolf was trying to get him out of the woods. The young brunette got to his feet albeit shaken and unsteady as he walked carefully after the green eyed wolf.
He wasn't far along when he could hear sirens in the distance and shouts of his name being called. He looked at the wolf who gazed at him in return as if it was saying goodbye to him. Judai smiled at the wolf a big cheeky one.
"Thank you…" His brown eyes were warm looking at the young wolf as it let out a yip before going back the way the two came taking king strides before it was gone in the darkness of the woods.
Judai looked back briefly before continued to walking in the direction of the voices calling him. He recognized his mother and father, but also stranger voices as he was blinded by a flashlight covering his face in response.
"Hey! I found him! He looks like he's hurt! Medic! Get the medic!" The man walked over taking 3 large steps and took Judai's wrist gently before leading him out of the woods. It too only 5 minutes to reach the break in the trees, the side of the road was in view with an ambulance and police cars up and down the street.
He felt his mom run up to him as he faints from the blood loss. His mother catches him as the medic rushes over and takes him and puts the unconscious boy on the stretcher. "Let's get him to the hospital!"
His parents go back in their car and drove after the ambulance as it took off down the road in the direction they were going in. The cop that found Judai sighed looking at the trail that was left by the tree.
"They're back at it again…" He took note of the three sets of paw prints next to the broken glass from the car window. 'God help us these wolves don't cause us trouble like the last set.' The cop thought as he got back in his cruiser and took off in the opposite direction.
