Prologue
Rory sat on the floor of the bathroom, curled in a ball with her back against the tub, as she looked down unblinkingly at the little blue plus sign staring back at her.
Positive.
That's what that plus sign meant.
And positive meant pregnant.
She was pregnant.
Rory Gilmore, age twenty-one, the princess of Stars Hollow, about to start her senior year at Yale, was...
Pregnant.
She continued to stare at the test in her hand, wondering if one of the lines would just disappear. It hadn't happened with the three other tests she had taken, but hey, maybe fourth time was the charm.
But no, no matter how long she stared at it, the truth remained the same.
She was… pregnant.
But though she was scared – terrified – of that little blue plus sign and what it indicated…
She also felt immense joy like she'd never felt before.
It made no sense at all, but there it was all the same.
She sighed heavily, attempting to process any of the millions of thoughts racing through her mind.
What the hell was she going to do?
