Prologue: Permit the wretched to complain of their unhappy fate

.

"How is it?"

"So far so good, as good as it can be. We've tried some of the medicines used 21 years ago, all ineffective, which means we are on the right track. Still some more to test, though."

From behind the glass window, both of them looked down to the one row of bed, where all the subjects they were observing lay there, helpless. From up there, they could see them in various conditions, mostly coughing violently, some of them spitted blood, some of them were intubated, half-conscious. And all of them have one thing in common, they each had two personnels dressed in full hazmat suits; one watching the sick ones closely, the other was holding a tablet, occasionally inputting things into it. LIke they were monitoring their development.

He couldn't hear it, but he was sure, those people could only wish one out of two things, salvation or death.

"Should we do an experiment with the vaccine too?" She turned to him. She didn't know a thing about medicine and all that, it was not her expertise. But being too cautious was usually better.

She had been living cautiously ever since two years ago.

"Maybe, we'll see about it later. I do think that will be necessary. Let me discuss it with the team."

"How about the other plan?"

"I'm still thinking of the best way to approach it. I couldn't get in touch with the Junk Guild this time, so I'll try another one. The rest is up to you; if we can carry this plan smoothly or not. Though the faster that little lady is wiped out from this world, the better. That traitor," he clenched his fist tightly. "Flaunting to all those Coordinators ever since…"

"Traitor huh? Even though you are a—"

"Stop!" He turned his face to her, warning her with a glare. "Don't you dare say that word."

"I know," the wavy, blonde haired woman. "I'll assume my post when I go back from here, our communication will be limited from now on."

"I'll contact you only when necessary. Maybe we'll even see each other in the near future."

"Until the time comes."

"Until the time comes."

The blonde woman walked away from that observing room, leaving the man in his place, watching the subject of his experiment.

There is still a chance this one will be edited again. This is an added prologue to the first chapter that was posted earlier last year. The idea was already there when this pandemic started, so its been almost 2 years, and I havent even finished this idea. Will probably sounded more like a ten year old me would write. Don't mind me and the story line, if this doesnt sound promising to you, just leave it alone and read other wonderful stories on this site.

Cheers
