Ei had been perplexed about her situation.
She had disabled a couple of functions for the Raiden Shogun to see how she could change her settings, but there was something wrong with her puppet.
It hadn't been THAT long since she had created her, so she was sure that some of these functions were not there when she first made her.
This was rather stressful and she was already getting rather frustrated over it, but if there was one thing one can say about Raiden Ei, it was that she had a lot of time to work with.
She was right in the middle of working out some functions, when the Traveler had appeared and offered to take her out to get some fresh air.
Before departing, Ei had seemingly forgotten to give the Raiden Shogun a command, having been in the middle of resetting a few command prompts before departing.
This left the puppet to be confused as to what to do as she was simply alone in the Tenshukaku.
She wasn't sure if she was supposed to stay here and wait, but she figured that with her master being so troubled over how to fix her, that she should at least attempt to fix herself.
Mulling over the past events so far, she had been surprised about what had happened in such a short amount of time, recalling the events from the other day.
The puppet did an unfamiliar movement, moving to press her hand to her chest where a heart beat wasn't present, yet she had felt something warm there.
What was this feeling? Did Ei accidentally mess something up? No. She was feeling like this even before Ei had decided to change her command prompts.
This had been happening since the moment she tried to kill The Traveler.
Flashback
Those who dare to challenge eternity shall be met with a swift execution. This was no exception to The Raiden Shogun who was given the task to exercise the Archon's will.
So the moment The Traveler had stepped out of the premises of Tenshukaku, she had fulfilled her promise of allowing him to live and went forward to enforce the Archon's will.
This was met with an unforeseen circumstance however as the moment she was ready to snuff out the life of the wide eyed boy, she was met with some resistance.
It was not the person she had been set to execute, but a familiar face that she had not seen in quite some time.
Let it be known that the Raiden Shogun was not some husk that does things autonomously. After all, there was that prototype that had gained his own personality that went off to become his own complete person.
That was why when The Raiden Shogun was deflected, she was not only shocked because the move she had used to mete out countless executions had been blocked, but completely overpowered and deflected despite her having the high ground.
It was then that she saw the face of the one who managed to do so, causing her to momentarily widen her eyes.
It was the one who interrupted another execution, having taken the vision before it could be inlaid upon the statue and ran off before even she could not catch him.
This was a familiar face to the puppet, who despite having only seen it for a second time, it was one that haunted her thoughts for it was the first time she had failed to do something.
Now he is back and this time, there will be no mistake, she will rectify her past.
She quickly recovered, taking another striking stance to quickly kill the one who opposed her masters' will, lunging forward to pierce his heart…
But he was able to block again!
This time however, he was blasted back far away from her, right into the army who quickly charged towards her.
No.
She had no time for such minor inconveniences. She must kill that man before he gets away again. Before he could blemish her who was the creation of the Archon.
It was then that she could feel a massive amount of energy heading her way, causing her to look up to see The Traveler coming down with a massive amount of electro energy emanating from his sword.
Then everything went black.
Flashback end
The next thing the puppet knew, she was back in the Tenshukaku with Ei and Yae Miko who were explaining how things would be going forward.
She was completely lost and confused for a moment, but was quick to understand the situation.
However, she couldn't feel like she had lost something and there was something stirring within her that she couldn't ignore.
That man.
He managed to get away again.
But. The Vision Hunt Decree is over now, right? That means he was no longer an enemy to her master. He wasn't anyone she had to worry about…
Yet she couldn't get his face out of her mind.
That's why she was so relieved when Ei had told her that she would be doing maintenance on her along with changing some of her parameters so that she could better adapt to the new changes Ei wanted to happen to Inazuma.
She could feel every change that was happening within her as Ei disabled and enabled things here and there, however.
No matter how many changes were made, The Raiden Shogun couldn't feel the burning sensation go away, causing her some levels of distress as she paced up and down the interior of the Tenshukaku.
She wasn't sure what she should do about this, but she knows one thing.
There weren't any commands for her to stay put.
Line Break
Kazuha was on edge.
The ronin of the wind had felt her presence much sooner than she even saw him, but he was sure of it.
The Raiden Shogun was following him.
He tried to play it cool at first, deciding to just walk normally and that maybe she was trying to go for a chance coincidental run in.
However, she completely stayed at a fixed distance and was seemingly avoiding interacting with him.
What was she doing? They were no longer enemies and as far as he knew. He also had made it clear that he held no resentment towards her.
Did… did she herself hold some resentment towards him? He couldn't recall anything that he personally did that wasn't rectified after the Traveler had defeated her.
Kazuha regretted returning his friend's vision now. He could really have used that extra layer of protection.
Well, no matter, he was back with Captain Beidou. Whatever the Raiden Shogun could possibly be planning, she wouldn't do anything too drastic around other people and even if she did, he was confident that the combined power of Captain Beidou and him would be able to keep her off.
"Hey, Kazuha! You finally done meeting with that bird lady? Hurry up! Kokomi gave us a bunch of alcohol! We're going to be using it all before we depart! Also, Yoimiya's got more fireworks for us to ship!"
Speak of the devil.
"Of course, Captain. Apologies. The wind had blown in a peculiar way today and I got lost trying to differentiate what had caused it." He gave his ambiguous statement.
Beidou raised an eyebrow before noticing a flash of purple quite a bit off from where they were.
"Oh~? Do you perhaps have a stalker? Is that the real reason you decided to run off~?" She teased, earning a sigh from him before he made a subtle motion.
He held a finger to his lips and Beidou got the message.
"All right all right. When you get the chance though, go and help Juza carry those boxes, will you?" She turned around, seemingly not wanting to deal with whatever his worries were at the moment.
At least, she was fully convinced that if he were actually in trouble, he'd ask for help directly.
"Of course, Captain." Kazuha nodded his head, before hopping aboard to go and do his normal tasks.
Far off, The Puppet of the Raiden Shogun didn't know what she was feeling.
There was a pain in her chest the moment she saw Kazuha interact so amicably with that taller lady who wore an eye patch.
She could feel it. Years of enacting the Vision Hunt Decree allowed her to know what element each user had and this was another Electro Vision user.
What was she feeling?
Also she had heard her mention Kokomi. The leader of the resistance along with "bird lady".
Could she be talking about Sara?
It seemed that the person she had been tailing was rather involved with women, including her own general.
She wasn't sure why, but this made her feel something she had never felt before. The urge to kill. She really wanted to kill Kazuha right now, but she wasn't sure why.
Everything that had happened in the past wasn't anything to hold a personal grudge over, but here and now after seeing him talk so amicably to that lady and knowing he had just came from talking to Sara, she felt the need to make him pay as if it was a sin, even though she knew he hadn't done anything that warranted death.
It was then that she felt a tugging sensation, signifying that Ei was looking for her.
It had been a long time since the two had gone so far apart that she almost didn't recognize the recall command, but nonetheless, it was time to return home.
Back on the ship, Kazuha felt relieved at the presence of the Raiden Shogun retreating.
Line Break
"Strange. It's not like you to wander off on your own like that…" Ei was in the midst of changing her parameters again, while she sat perfectly still in the center of the Tenshukaku.
"There's nothing wrong with that as I doubt I'd be going too far without you, but it is peculiar. I don't believe that's a preprogrammed action…" Ei was experimenting with a bunch of things with the puppet, having never had to truly do this in-depth until now.
"No matter. As long as you do what I tell you to do, you're free to venture off to do what you wish, but only after I figure out what half of these things do. Did I miss a bracket? A parenthesis? This is so confusing." Her master held her head in frustration as she went through her command features, but she stayed silent. Her master always talked to herself and there was no point in engaging in conversation as she was merely a copy of her made to take over her duties.
"Who's Jason?! Oh. Oh wait. That's "JSON"." She mumbled to herself, but then she stumbled upon something.
"Passion? Well, I would like for my puppet to be passionate in her duties… It would sadden me if she hated her role, so I'll just slide that up to one hundred percent." Ei continued to mumble to herself.
It wasn't until a few days later that she would realize the ratifications of doing such a thing and the consequences would come to bite her.
