Chapter 01 Miss Important
One lovely sunny day in Zootopia, at a famous police station a pure black limousine just pulled up. From the driver's seat, a black leopard stepped out and walked to the back. He placed on the ground a big sheet of sheepskin to cover a muddy puddle up and opened the back door.
He looked around to make sure he and his 'boss' weren't followed.
"We've arrived at the police station, Miss Victoria Lamb." He said, "We've not been followed so far. What should-"
"Tell her to see me here now. I don't want to risk anything. And Hurry." A female voice snapped out of it.
The leopard received a bundle of cash shoved into his paws, before the voice fell silent. The driver nodded his head and closed the door to the limousine.
He placed the money in an envelope and then in his coat pocket, then looked around and quickly entered the police station.
In the police station. Judy Hopps, a rabbit police officer, was just working on a document about another solved case, as the door opened and she saw the leopard enter.
He walked right up to her, "Sorry are you Miss Judy Hopps?"
"I am." Judy smiled, "What can I do for you?"
"My boss is requiring for your service for a while. She'd like you to come with her now and we will discuss matters further. Due to the importance of the task at hand, I can't divulge many details due to the sensitivity of the topic." The leopard explained, "And we only want you to come. You're known partner, Nicholas Wild is not to come either."
Judy blinked, Nick just came from the side room and shrugged his shoulders. Judy grabbed her gun and nodded her head, following the leopard outside.
Nick stood back and looked at his girlfriend, "What's going on?"
As he was about to follow Judy outside, the leopard put his hand up and stopped Nick in his path.
"I'm sorry Mr Wilde. But only Judy is to go." He said, "I'm sure you've got your own tasks to complete."
"Nick," Judy said looking to her partner, "I'll just see what's going on and see you later. Ok?"
Nick blinked, he nodded his head and headed back to his desk, watching from the window how Judy and the leopard got into a black limousine and were then driven away.
Inside the limousine, Judy noticed there was a shrouded creature, sitting opposite of her. Wearing a black veil, black long dress and coat and black gloves. Judy couldn't tell what for a creature it was, only that it was bigger than her... maybe more of the size of Nick, she thinks.
"What now?" The leopard asked the veiled creature.
The animal just pointed straight ahead to the road, it must have been some silent jester between the two because the leopard nodded his head and started the car.
"Wait, what the-?" Judy said looking to the back. "Are you kidnapping me? I got a job to complete you know."
"I'm sorry Miss Hopps," The leopard said, looking in the rearview mirror. "But we got a lot to discuss, but we can't do it out in the open. My boss will tell you everything once we've reached our destination."
Judy looked to the veiled creature, who only gave her a small nod and then remained quiet and glued to her seat like a statue. Judy sighed, bolted herself in and looked around the limousine. There were drinks and snacks set up there, which the veiled creature didn't even touch.
Judy was beginning to feel hungry, so she looked shortly to the veiled creature again, who finally made a move with her gloved hand at the bar for Judy to have a snack and drink.
"Thank you," Judy smiled.
She grabbed a bottle of water and some peanuts. Eating them she looked outside and was surprised that she was taken out of Zootopia and they were heading into a very rich estate far from the others.
Hollyspots it was called, the animal's version of Hollywood. Judy almost spat the nuts back out shocked as the limousine pulled up outside the door and the leopard appeared again.
"We've arrived Miss, shall we head straight to your dressing room so Miss Judy can know now what's wrong?" The leopard asked the veiled creature once more.
The creature didn't say a word, just gave a brief nod before it left the car. Judy blinked and decided to follow.
The three creatures walked along the famous Hollyspots roads, up to a huge building known as Ariel and Aurora's hotel. Judy was walking next to the hooded unknown figure. She then took note that the leopard walked up to the receptionist and pulled out a huge bundle of cash. Millions in fact.
"We require a top-secret private suite room for a few nights, please. One side with a single Queens size bed and the other with two twin beds on either end, please." the leopard requested.
"Under which name?" The receptionist asked.
"The Hopps's, please. And nothing more." The leopard said.
Judy wanted to walk up and shout at him; that she won't be covering the bill under her name. But as she was about to walk up, the disguised creature grabbed her arm. It was the first move this creature did to Judy since they met and it gave Judy just a shake of the hooded face.
Judy understood, "Don't change it or distract him."
"I am not-" Judy was about to scream.
But she suddenly had her mouth covered by the disguised creature again, shaking the head once more. The leopard raced back outside to the limousine and got two huge suitcases out. Judy was dragged by the hooded figure and the leopard followed them straight into the lift. He selected the third floor and they stood now awkward in the lift as it took them to the room.
"What's going on?" Judy snapped, "First you-"
"Not here Miss. Please let's get to the room first. It's too risky out here." The leopard explained a bit, still looking scared.
They reached the twelve floor and the hooded creature stopped the leopard again, tilting the head a little, but he nodded his head understanding the jester.
"Only we three and the receptionist will know our location, I know." He said, "Don't worry. We can explain it later."
Judy was grabbed by the disguised person once more as they headed to the furthest room at the very back. Room number 35000.
The leopard activated the card and Judy was shoved ungraciously into the room. Then followed the masked figure and the leopard last. He scanned the card a second time and then raced to the curtains by the bay windows, closing all of them.
The masked figure shoved the card into a slot, which lit up the entire room. There was one large single bed and a smaller double bed.
The leopard made a motion to the hooded figure and he took apart both beds, pillows, bedsheets and even the mattress itself got fully turned over before he straightened it again and the same with the single bed. Next, the leopard headed into the bathroom and checked it over. Judy saw a top standard shower, hundreds of shower gels and shampoos and a whirlpool tub.
"No one is here apart from us and Judy Hopps. I think we are safe." The leopard said.
The masked figure finally gave off a noise, which was a deep sigh. Judy blinked as the figure finally revealed itself to her. They removed the hat, veil, gloves and scarf from around their neck.
Judy blinked quite a bit, it was a female poodle standing in front of her, with sparkling silver curly hair and deep blue eyes looking at Judy.
"Thank god. I'm so sorry for our harsh behaviour towards you Miss Hopps. But the secrecy of my existence had to happen because of a task I'd like to employ you under." The poodle said.
"Who are you? I don't think I've ever seen you before." Judy pointed out.
"My name is Miss Victoria Lamb. Daughter to the famous Randy Lamb, the first poodle actor to make it big in Hollywood. I'm a good friend of Gazelle, she recommended to me your services as I told her of my plight." Victoria explained to Judy.
The leopard nodded his head, "And I'm her personal secretary, my name is; Mr Juan Star."
She then turned to the leopard and nodded her head at him. He walked to a briefcase he took from the car, opened it and handed to Judy several plastic punch pockets of threat letters. These were cut out of magazines and glued on them like letters.
Judy blinked and read, "(letter one) Don't accept the oscar for best female actress if you value your life. (letter two) Pay us $90000 in $20 bills in a suitcase. Deposit it by the railway bridge and leave again. No police or we will get you for it. (letter three) You've got the police involved. The Oscars will be your last. Death date will be the 9th of March 2022."
Victoria nodded her head, "And they are very serious that I'd die. I was so scared I had a personal food tester employed, by my last breakfast this morning they keeled over and died of an overdose of cyanide. I had porridge with sugar and several fruits in it."
"I'm sorry ma'am," Judy said looking down. "This is very serious. We should definitely get more people-"
"No absolutely not!" Victoria shouted suddenly, "Do you know what for a drama this could unfold if I suddenly have hundreds of police officers around me? Headlines of the week: Victoria Lamb can't cope with the stress a Hollywood life brings her so she bought out the Zootopian police department as her personal bodyguards. No, no, no I can't cope with even higher scandal. We need one bodyguard and you are not to tell your friends, family or partner of the job you've been employed under. If you dare to break the contract during your employment or a word gets out to the press about this then we are forced to sue you and you will spend five years in jail for misuse of personal information for self-gain!"
Judy rolled her eyes in her head, she knows the Zootopian law thank you very much. But that a person was turning it against her just to have her as her personal bodyguard was another thing. Judy sighed.
Juan continued: "During Miss Victoria's protection job you are also not to leave her side or premises. I will show you to your room. Your stay will be until after the Oscar party in a few days."
"but if I have to stay here, I will need some clothes." Judy pointed out, "The police uniform is not the most comfortable to live in all the time."
Juan nodded his head, "We can arrange that. Was that all, so far, Miss Victoria?"
The poodle nodded her head, "Also make sure dinner will be ready for us at 6 PM. Thank you, Miss Hopps."
Judy nodded her head and Victoria headed into her living room. Judy took her suitcase and headed to her side of the room to unpack.
Judy packed her clothes out on the bed to sort out what she had; socks, bra, jeans, T-shirts, pullovers, and her washing kit.
She opened a majestic chest of draws and placed her clothes away. Suddenly Judy felt a presence in the room. It was Victoria looking at her and the clothes she had with her.
"Don't tell me this is all you brought?" She inquired, looking at them with a disgusted face as if she'd just chipped a nail.
Judy tilted her head, "If all you need is me to keep a watch over you then yes. Why what's wrong with-?"
"We are going shopping tomorrow, Miss Hopps. You can't go to an oscar premier and after party looking like you're looking for a cheap date online. Don't worry about the expenses, I'll cover you for it. And you'll also have your hair and makeup done professionally too." Victoria said.
She left Judy's room again and, a short while later Juan appeared once more.
"Sorry about my boss, she's very sensitive when she's seen with other people. Everyone has to look like they've just spent $20000 just to get a single dirt stain of their furs." He said looking a bit ashamed. "Would you need anything else?"
Judy shook her head, "I'm fine thank you. Also, don't worry about it. In a professional job, one has to keep their personal affairs away."
Juan blinked, "Sorry if this is too personal Miss Hopps, but do you have a boyfriend?"
Judy smiled, she pulled her phone out and opened it up, revealing to the leopard the photograph of her and Nick Wilde at the Police reward ceremony for her friend.
"Nick Wilde is my boyfriend, has been for years now." she smiled. "If that would be all. I'd like some privacy now."
Juan nodded his head, he left her room and Judy smiled, looking at the photograph of her boyfriend. She wonders what he was up to now.
Quanktumspirit: "Done with the first chapter. I hope this was what you had in mind JBlazer. Comment, follow and favour please."
