A Being Called Fairy
"Om-nom-nom-nom…" The tiny woman bit down on the food in her hands. "Hmm, this is the first time I taste something like this, but I can say that this is delicious!"
"Thanks for that, Habetrot!" Hestia replied with a smile.
On the other side of the room, a pair of male and female watched the event in silence. It took him quite a while, but Bell finally remembered why the sight of Habetrot was so familiar: she looked exactly like Totorot, the knight that accompanied Tonelico. In fact, she looked so much like her that "looking exactly the same" didn't do justice to describe their similarity.
Could Habetrot be a reincarnation of Totorot? He had heard before that reincarnation was one of the fates that could happen to someone after their death.
"So, if I got everything right," The recently-summoned Servant spoke. "This is a city called Orario where people called adventurers to dive into the Dungeon to kill monsters and harvest their body parts to be sold. These adventurers received a blessing from the deities so that they could have a chance in doing their job. Is that everything?"
"More or less." The Goddess of the Hearth replied.
"Well, since my Master is part of your Familia, Lady Hestia, I think it's only natural that I join as well." She said with a smile. "So, what are we waiting for? Let's get it done!"

Hestia looked at the paper with a glare so hard that she might set it on fire had her divinity not been locked away. She hoped that her eyes were merely deceiving her. She wished that she might have simply written it wrong.
No, that would be being in a denial. There was nothing wrong with the paper. Everything that was written on it was 100% - without any doubt – correct.
"Seriously, of all the things in the world…" The black-haired woman sighed heavily, causing her first two "children" to look at her worriedly.
"I-Is there something wrong, Goddess?" Bell couldn't help but ask.
Rather than answering it directly, Hestia handed the paper to him, which was then read by him and his wife. It didn't take long for them to notice a particularly concerning magic.
Guardian of Bride, empowering a female ally by sacrificing oneself.
The boy admitted that when it came to the matters of Falna and its effects, his knowledge was more or less lacking. However, having a skill that required the user to sacrifice themselves as the price sounded…well…
He knew that there were skills that had a cost when used, like say increasing strength at the cost of intelligence. Yet Habetrot's magic was even more extreme at that; she would no longer be among the living if she ever used it.
Well, technically, she was already dead – being a Servant – but that was not the point.
"Habetrot, listen." In a rare moment of seriousness, the Goddess spoke. "Do not – I repeat – do not use the spell Guardian of Bride!"
"Sorry, Lady Hestia," Without any worry, the small woman replied. "But that's a definite no."
"Habetrot!"
"Once again, I am sorry. But that's my call." The Rider-class Servant stated. "If sacrificing my life means a bride could reach her happy ending, then that's a life well-lived."
That…Bell was not sure how to react to that statement. There was…something about it that made even his bones feel chill. He turned his attention to Morgan, who shook her head.
"Habetrot is not a mortal like humans, pallums, amazons, and others." The witch stated. "Even as the kindest among fairies, she's still one. Her morality doesn't completely align with yours."
He wasn't sure that he actually understood what she told him. Nevertheless, he got the gist of it: Habetrot's nature meant that some of her actions would be considered odd by many.
Paying attention to the statement, Hestia couldn't help but sigh.
"Alright, alright." She then said. "Just, please, promise me that you will do your best to remain alive. Please, use that spell only in the direst of situations."
"Very well, Goddess," Habetrot replied. "So, what now?"
"Well, first, we need to go to the Guild to report not only Bell's Level Up but also you joining the Familia." The black-haired deity said. "After that, maybe we could celebrate Bell's Level Up. I suggest we do it after the Denatus which is only a few days away."
"That's right!" The only male in the room suddenly exclaimed. "Adventurer's title!"
When an adventurer Level Up, they would be blessed by the gods with a title. This was given during a meeting called Denatus where many gods of Orario gathered to discuss some important events. From what he had heard, the gifting of the titles was considered to be the most important.
Unbeknownst to him, his goddess internally cringed upon him uttering the statement.
"This is ironic, but I pray that Bell's title wouldn't be too ridiculous. Who knows what Morgan will do?" The Goddess of the Hearth prayed. "Well, that or hoping that she doesn't get the hidden meaning, but even I know sucker's bet when I see one."
On their way to the Guild, it was hard for the members of Hestia Familia to not attract attention. While Bell and Morgan sometimes received death glares from the jealous deities, it was nothing compared to the stares that were directed towards Habetrot. After all, it was not every day that a tiny person traveled using some sort of mini airplane.
"Do you think it's alright?" The white-haired boy asked his wife regarding the matter.
"To – I mean, Habetrot fight using the armaments on her airplane." She replied. "There's no point in hiding it."
He simply nodded at the response. Morgan was right; there was no point in hiding the little Servant.
Upon arriving at the Guild, they looked around for a bit before finding the location of their guild advisor, currently resting her head on her hand. The trio immediately walked towards the booth. It didn't take long for Eina to notice their arrival.
"Ah, Bell, Morgan." The half-elf greeted them before noticing an extra. "Oh, you have a new partner?"
"That's right, Miss Eina. She's a new member of Hestia Familia." The boy stated. "She's…"
"Oooohh!" Before he could finish it, Habetrot flew towards the brunette, causing the advisor to be taken back. "Nya, your bride potential is high!"
"E-Eh?" The brunette was obviously confused by the statement.
"Eh?" The white-haired boy was no less confused by it as well.
The only one who didn't appear to be surprised was the pale-haired woman who merely sighed.
"It's simply Habetrot being…Habetrot." Morgan stated. "My friend is somewhat obsessed with the concept of the bride, to the point that she could judge a female's potential to be one."
"I…I see…" That was the only reply that Eina could utter. "Wait, you said 'friend,' does that mean…?"
"T-That's right, Miss Eina," Bell spoke up. "Habetrot is a new member of our Familia."
"Hello there!" The woman in question said. "If you need any help in becoming a bride, just ask ol' Habenyan for help!"
"H-Hello." Still feeling awkward, the guild staff nevertheless picked up a form. "Here you go, Miss Habetrot. Just fill this form so that the Guild could record you as a member of Hestia Familia."
"No problem." The fairy said as she hopped off her blimp and landed on the booth.
It was then that Eina remembered that the pen provided by the Guild would be quite big for the little woman. As if to immediately answer the dilemma, the Rider-class Servant took out a tiny pen from her bag.
Those who watched her fill the form had to admit that it was an adorable sight. Due to being smaller than even children, Habetrot had to move her entire body to fill the sections.
"Here you go, Miss." The fairy gave the paper back.
"Thank you." The half-elf accepted it before inspecting the form. "Hmm, I believe everything is in order."
"That's great!" The boy said before remembering something. "Oh, that's right, Miss Eina. There's another why we are here."
"Oh?"
"Before we discuss it," Morgan suddenly cut in. "Perhaps we should move to somewhere more…private."
"Of course." The staff showed them the way. "Please follow me."
"L-L-L-Level Up?!"
To say that Eina was surprised was putting it lightly. Not only Bell was now the record holder of the fastest Level Up in history, but he also beat the previous record – one held by Ais Wallenstein – by a significant margin. Once again, to say that it would cause a headache was putting it lightly.
"S-Sorry…" Bell said, noticing the distress on his advisor's face.
"N-No, Bell. It's nothing you should apologize for." The half-elf immediately replied before sighing. "Still, this would likely cause quite a bit of an uproar. You might find yourself an instant celebrity, for better or worse."
The boy simply awkwardly laughed. He had known a bit of how it was to receive negative attention. It seemed that he should bear for more of that in the future.
"Speaking of which, since you got a Level Up," The staff returned to the original topic. "Does that mean you got a Development Skill?"
"That is correct." Morgan was the one who answered it. "My husband receives three options: Abnormal Resistance, Hunter, and Luck."
"Well, Abnormal Resistance – as the name suggests – gives the adventurer the ability to resist 'abnormality,' such as poison or paralysis. Very useful since many monsters on the lower floors could inflict poison. Hunter gives an edge against monsters that the adventure has fought before." Eina explained before putting her hand on her chin. "Luck, though…this is the first time I ever heard such skill."
"My Goddess is quite insistent that I choose that," Bell stated. "Saying how much I would need it."
"Considering your habit, she has a point." His wife said back. "However, Luck can be a double-edged sword. The same Luck that prevents you from being killed by the Minotaur will also be the same Luck that put you in that situation in the first place."
"Yeah, there's actually no such thing as 'good luck' or 'bad luck' beyond the labels. It's just Luck." Habetrot stated. "There's a reason people always wonder if someone who survives a catastrophe lucky or unlucky."
"I see…" He thought about it for a bit before looking at his advisor. "So, Miss Eina, which one do you think I should choose?"
"Well, if it's up to me, I would suggest Abnormal Resistance. That way, you don't have to depend too much on antidote." The half-elf said before fixing her glasses. "In the end though, the choice is yours to make, Bell. Think about it and then choose the one that will suit you the most."
"Very well. Thank you for the advice, Miss Eina."
"So, what should we do now?" Bell asked as they exited the building.
"With Lily still in recovery, it is not advisable to enter the Dungeon today," Morgan said. "Moreover, you still need to replace your armor."
"Ah, that's right." He nodded. "So, that store then?"
She simply gave a nod, agreeing with the decision. After that, the trio began their journey towards the Babel, the location of the store where Bell's armor was bought. In the middle of the way, however, they had to stop since one of them got distracted.
"Ooohh…" Habetrot couldn't help but stare at the wedding dress that was being displayed by a shop.
The husband and wife pair simply looked at each other before shaking their heads in amusement.
"I'll accompany her." The Servant declared. "I am sure you can get a replacement on your own."
"Sure." The Master said before departing. "Have fun, Morgan!"
As he watched them entering the store, he wondered if there was another reason behind her decision. The look that she often gave to the Rider indicated familiarity yet…also not? It was quite hard to understand it.
Still, he believed that it would be best to give them some alone time.
"Well, that was…quite unexpected."
When he arrived at the store, he didn't expect to meet Welf Crozzo himself, the very smith that created his armor. Words were exchanged between both of them and it ended up with Bell making a contract with the red-haired blacksmith.
Thinking it back, he didn't think it was a bad idea. Welf's armor – the name aside – was pretty well-made for its price, breaking apart only when being smashed by a minotaur that came from a deeper floor.
He also said that with better materials, he could make a better version of the armor that could withstand an attack from the bull monster.
Anyway, with the matter of his armor being taken care of, the boy decided to walk back to the store where he left Morgan with Habetrot. When he arrived, it was right when the two exited the building.
"Come back again!" Shouted someone from inside, likely the store owner.
"Of course!" The fairy replied before diverting her attention towards him. "Morgan, look. It's Bell."
"I see that you have returned, husband of mine." The Berserker greeted him. "I take it that the matter has been settled."
"Yep." The boy nodded. "Also, I make a contract with the smith, Welf Crozzo. Hope you don't mind about it."
"Not a concern." She waved it off. "Your low Level means you can only attract equally low-Level smith. Just make sure he could keep up with your would-be increasingly difficult demands."
He got what she meant. As he Levels Up, he would need weapons and armors that were stronger than the ones he previously had, not only because the monsters would become tougher but also making sure they were not destroyed by his own strength.
Well, except for Hestia's Knife. It should be able to serve him for many Levels to come.
"Speaking of which," Bell turned his attention to his newest Servant. "Do you enjoy your time, Habetrot?"
"I am! As expected, with so many races in here, there are also many wedding traditions." The fairy said with a smile. "Humans alone have many wedding traditions, like how – when I was alive – wedding dress is not white. And that's not getting to the Far East tradition."
"That's nice to hear." He said. "I suppose we need to start buying materials for dresses, huh?"
"Nah, you can do it at later times." She told him. "For now, I am going to learn more about the fashion of Orario. Who knows what interesting idea I would find?"
With that, the three of them went back towards their home.
This was it. The Day of Reckoning.
Denatus. It was during this meeting that it would be revealed just how far her "child" would be damned.
"Thus, it is decided that Yamato Mikoto of Takemikazuchi Familia will be bestowed with the title of 'Zetsu Ei'"
"DIONYSUS YOU BASTARD!"
Hestia couldn't help but gave her old friend a look of sympathy as his head collapsed to the table. If one puts their ear closer, they might be able to hear a sob or two coming from the war god.
The Goddess of Hearth knew that it was only a matter of time until her turn arrived; the turn where she had to defend Bell's honor by making sure that his title would be as normal as possible. She could already imagine him being disappointed if she was successful, but he didn't know the hidden meaning behind the titles that the gods bestow.
"Sorry, Bell." She spoke in her mind. "Just for this one, I am going to be a bit selfish."
When it was finally indeed her turn, there was a brief interrogation from Loki regarding the speed of the growth of her "child." Fortunately, Freya put an end to that by accusing the flat-chested goddess of being jealous of the accomplishment.
"Well, anyway, let's get back to what's really matter." The red hair said, trying to salvage her ego. "How about…Little Bunny?"
"H-Hey, just because Bell look like Al-Miraj, doesn't mean he's a bunny!" She immediately came to his defense.
"Al-Miraj? What about we give him the name of that monster? I mean, we have 'Amazon,' so…"
"Nah, too boring. Pyonkichi!"
"Too bad, his armor already has that name."
"W-What?! Who steals my idea…? This Welf guy?"
As Hephaistos tried to hide her twitch at the mention of her "child," Loki noticed that Freya seemed to be…very focused on the bio of Hestia's "child." Curious, she couldn't help but ask.
"Oi, Freya, something's wrong?" The trickster said. "You seem to be interested in him."
"Oh, nothing. Just love goddess business." The most beautiful deity replied.
Raising an eyebrow, she turned her attention towards the bio, wondering what was about the boy that would attract the attention of a goddess of love.
"Wait!" She found it. "He's already married?!"
The other deities stopped their debate before turning their attention towards the bio as well. It was at that moment that the dam was broken.
"Holy shit, it's true!"
"H-Hey, this is a typo, right? No way 15 years old already has a wife, right?"
"I mean, I know places where such a thing is not uncommon, but…"
"How?! How could he achieve it?!"
"N-Now, now, my friends, c-calm down. Maybe the girl is very plain…"
"Actually, I have a photo of Bell Cranel with a woman. Both of them spend quite a lot of time together." One of the gods, Hermes, said. "Suffice to say, she's not plain-looking."
As he gave copies of the photo, Hestia could feel her blood freezing. She just knew what would happen next.
"T-T-T-That's his wife?! This hottie?!"
"She looks cold, aloof, but that's exactly her charm!"
"That height…those curves…!"
"That's it! I know exactly what to call him!" One of the gods suddenly shouted. "Casanova!"
"No, no, there's a more appropriate term in the language of the Far East: Damn Riajuu!"
"Stop it!" Hestia exclaimed. "Now you guys are just insulting him and it's not even subtle!"
Loki, Hephaistos, and Freya looked at each other before sighing and nodding their heads; even by the standards of Denatus, this was going out of control.
When she returned from the meeting, the black-haired woman managed to shock Bell by how dead in the eyes her appearance was.
"G-Goddess!" He grabbed her by the shoulders. "Are you alright? Is there something wrong?"
"Do you need tea or something?" Habetrot spoke. "I am sure I see a pack of it in the cabinet."
"I…I did it…Bell…I…" Ignoring their words, Hestia muttered her own. "It's…not much…very disappointing, but…good enough…must be good enough…"
"Lady Hestia, you make me worried," Morgan said.
The other two realized what an achievement that was.
"Your title, Bell…" The goddess continued. "I…I hope you are…happy with it…"
"O-Of course, Goddess." The boy stated; anything to calm her down. "What is my title?"
"Y-You are…Prince." It was clear that she was struggling. "Prince Consort."
Prince Consort.
Not exactly a bad title until one realized that – just like many other titles – it had a hidden meaning, one that would make the deity of the title owner cringe while making others laugh.
And the hidden meaning of "Prince Consort" was…
The Queen's Boytoy.
Answers to some reviews:
taovkool: Well, the Falna helps in that regards considering it's a blessing from a god. That thing gives a lot of boosts.
JD91B: Yes, Morgan can create more Command Seals.
apacho1999: Technically, the loss is permanent, but since Morgan could create more…
Of course, it would neither be easy nor cheap.
So, when creating this chapter, I was wondering how I could change Bell's adventure title. Then, I remembered that male gods are very easy to get jealous, and knowing that Bell is married to a hottie like Morgan, well, their jealousy engine would go up to 11.
So, yeah, that's how Bell ends up being called "Prince Consort" a.k.a. "Queen's Boytoy." Very petty reason, but let's be honest, that's how the naming works.
BTW, here's a bit spoiler of what would happen in the next chapter: Ryuu – and other waitresses - finding out the truth about Bell and Morgan's relationship
