Chapter 2
I'll Look After You
Orguri Cap begins her training with her own trainer. Tama helps her out bit by bit however, the taller horsey wants to work alone for a while. She wants to beat Super Creek in the finals no matter what it takes. She is that determined. But there is one problem: Narita Brian. Since the delinquent like horsey claimed Creek to be her one-sided rival, it's going to be difficult to meet her goal. It's not that she wants Brian to lose, but it would be disappointing if Brian were to make it to the finals first.
It goes on for about a few days. Today, during lunch, Oguri is sitting at her normal spot with a huge load of food like usual. Super Creek takes notice and sits across the hungry horsey.
"How is that training going~?" Creek asks as she helps herself to Oguri's food.
"It's going well…" Oguri replies, letting her friend and rival take a few helpings. "I feel like I'm getting one step closer to racing you."
"Fufufu~! We have a looooong way to go~" Creek says with a finger held up. "Keep working hard, Oguri-chan. Both of us will get to our goal soon~"
Oguri smiles. She is happy to know that her friendly rival is working toward the same goal as she is. However, she wants to ask what's on her mind for a while.
"Creek…" Oguri says softly. "Are you sure you want to go against Brian? She seems like a tough horse girl…"
"I'm fine with it," Super Creek answers. "It's not like I have any other choice, right?"
"I guess.." Oguri takes another bite of her food.
"Well, I have another challenger other than you and Tama-chan~" Creek giggles. "That makes it more exciting~!"
Oguri nods. "Sure seems that way."
"You have some competitors as well~!" Creek says. "So don't say I'm the only one. You have lots of horse girls who are very eager to challenge you and see you as a rival. Like Tama-chan for example~!"
"Yeah," Oguri nods in agreement and takes another bite of her food.
"Fufufu!" Creek giggles. "You can be so silly sometimes~"
Oguri looks at the brunette beauty of a horse girl. She is just so beautiful and so sweet and smart. She cannot keep her eyes off of her for a second.
Later*
Orgui walks to the classroom, hearing friendly gossips from the other horse girls.
"It's Oguri Cap-san!"
"She's a pretty fast horse girl, yes?"
"I heard she and Super Creek-san are getting together more often!"
"Seriously!? I bet they are a couple!"
"Girl, really? Oguri Cap-san and Super Creek-san? They are friendly rivals, I thought."
Oguri arrives at her desk and a cute, petite horse girl with dark brunette hair tied in pig-tails comes to sit at the desk in front of her.
"So…I hear you and Super Creek are getting along very well~" the pig-tailed horse girl, Inari One says. "Tell me…do you have a crush on her~?"
Oguri blushes and shushes her little friend harshly. "I don't want anyone knowing!"
"Hehehe!" Inari laughs. "I can tell from the way you look at her. Come on, just confess already!"
"No can do," Oguri shakes her head. "I don't think I can confess properly until I beat her in the finals. That's when it will be the right time."
Inari looks at the beautiful classmate, Super Creek. She is talking amongst the other horse girls, laughing and talking.
"The right time, eh~?" Inari says. "Well…don't wait too long, you hear? You might regret it later~"
Oguri just nods. As long as the finals aren't too far, she WILL confess.
Later*
Oguri, Tama and Creek take a walk around town together, having been done with training about a half hour ago. They went window shopping, looked at little shops and just basically walked the rest of the way, talking about absolutely nothing eventful. Until Tama trots ahead toward a playground.
"Ogurin! Creek!" She says. "That's the playground that the children and I play around! I see them over there now!"
There are at least three children who trot toward the petite horsey and happily greet her.
"Tama-nee-chan!" One child says.
"Tama-nee-chan, we missed you!" Another says.
"Who's that?" The third child asks, pointing to Creek.
"She goes to the same school as you?" The first child asks. "She looks a little…too motherly to go to high school, right?" He chooses his words carefully.
Creek giggles, cupping a hand on her cheek out of habit. "Ara ara~! Such a way with words~"
"I don't blame them, though…" Oguri says.
"That is my friend, Super Creek," Tama says, gesturing toward the MILFy horsey and then at the taller, silver haired horsey. "And this is my roommate, Oguri Cap. I call her "Ogurin", guys!"
The three children wave to Oguri and Creek. "Hi, Ogurin! Super Creek-okaa-saaaaan!"
"Ohhhh, aren't they just so precious~?" Creek squeals happily, now having both hands on her cheeks. "They are too much! I want to spoil then rotten~!"
"Uhhhh…not gonna happen," Tama says and turns to the children. "You better be careful of Creek. She can be a little…obsessive."
"Fufufu! Don't say it like that~" Creek says.
Oguri closes her eyes. "Tama's always a Mama's girl after all…"
"You shut your mouth!" Tama yells.
Creek giggles and then at the corner of her eye, she sees a lonely horse girl sitting on the bench, feeling very depressed. She has shoulder length brown hair with a white streak on the front. It may not be her business but she is still curious as to what's wrong with this poor horsey.
"Girls…I'll be right back," Creek says as she makes her way toward the girl.
"No worries!" Tama says as she turns to the taller silver haired horsey. "Ogurin! Ya wanna play with the children~?"
Oguri looks at Creek and then back at Tama. She shakes her head as she says, "No, you go on ahead. I want to see what Creek is up to."
Tama shrugs and sighs. "Suit yourself." She turns to the children. "Alright, guys! Who wants to run with me~?"
"Yaaaaaaay!" The children cheer and begin to chase after the petite horsey.
Oguri chuckles softly and turns to notice Creek approaching a sad horsey sitting on bench.
"Excuse me?" The MILFy horsey says, leaning down, a hand on her thigh and the other cupping her cheek. "May I ask what's wrong?"
The brunette cutie looks up and she could've sworn she is seeing an angel that came down from heaven.
"Pretty…" The shy horsey says, her high pitched, but soft voice being heard.
"Eh?" Creek tilts her head in confusion.
"Ah! S-s-so sorry!" The cute and shy brunette waves her arms back and forth. "I said something weird! Ohhhh….I shouldn't have done that! A horse girl like me is pathetic! I just met a new horse girl and all I did was say one stupid thing!" She grabs her head and shakes it roughly.
Creek smiles nervously at her speech. "H-hey, calm down…."
"Uuuu….that was so embarrassing…" The cute horse girl looks up again to see Creek and Oguri looking at her. "So sorry! I must leave now!"
But Creek gently takes her by the wrist and shakes her head with a warm smile. "No, no. Stay here. I can see that something is troubling you. Do you want to talk about it?"
"Uuuu…talking about my pathetic self? N-no….I don't think it's necessary…" the poor horsey says.
"Please…it's because I want to help," Creek gently caresses the cute horsey's cheek, making her look up at her.
The shy brunette again could've sworn an angel is there for her. She cannot help but swoon a little. "O-okay…"
Creek giggles and looks over at Oguri, who nods and walks over to sit next to the brunette horsey on the other side. Creek sits on the left while Oguri is on the right. The MILFy horsey pats the brunette cutie, who shyly introduced herself as Meisho Doto.
"I see…you lost a race just a couple hours ago, huh?" Creek says.
"I know how that feels…" Oguri comments softly, giving Meisho an apologetic look.
"I'm so pathetic…" Meisho looks down at the ground. "I know I have potential, but there are other horse girls that are 10 times better than me. Much faster than I am. I have lost race after race, despite how I train myself. Am I really not a worthy horse girl to compete in races after all…?"
It is then that Creek scoots closer and suddenly gives Meisho a gentle hug. "It's okay. I can tell you have very low self confidence. But listen…no matter how many times you lose…just know that it will also make you stronger."
"Ehhh? B-but how?" Meisho looks up at the motherly figure.
Creek smiles and looks over at Oguri. "I have…someone who loses to me, but isn't afraid to stand back up. She always wants to reach her goal, no matter what. And I think you should do the same." She looks at Meisho. "Do you have a goal that you absolutely want to reach? Anything that comes to mind?"
Meisho thinks for a moment. "I want to…I want to become a great horse girl. So everyone sees me as a winner instead of a loser."
"That sounds like someone I know very well~" Creek says. "But hey, that's a very nice goal. If you keep thinking about reaching it, think positively, you can be sure that you'll make it."
"R-really…?" Meisho says.
Creek giggles and pets the cute horsey. "How about this~? I will look after you for the time being. To help you at least come out of your shell." She winks with a finger held up. "And I will be your Mama, too~"
Meisho's eyes brim with happy tears. There is actually someone who understands her and is willing to help her get through her self confidence issues. "O-okay….M-Mama…!" She embraces Creek tightly, quietly sobbing.
Oguri smiles at this wholesome scene. Creek hugs Meisho back and looks up at her friendly rival, smiling as well.
"What's the matter~?" Creek asks.
"Nothing," Oguri shakes her head, still having that small smile on her face. "It's just that…I've learned something today. I will try my hardest as well to get to the top."
"I'm sure you will~" Creek says while gently stroking Meisho's hair.
The two share some soft giggles, staying like this for a little longer before Tama shows up, telling everyone it's time to go. She sees Meisho and introduces herself as well. The four of them head to the dorms with Meisho holding Creek's hand.
