Kasumi stands there as she defeated the large Samurai man that tried to attack Momiji's shrine. Actually, Kasumi almost defeated him when he was about to deliver a big blow to kill her when he got killed by Momiji's naginata instead. He died before he hit the ground. Kasumi was battered and beaten, having fought his army and himself hard to protect her wife. And now, it's over.
Momiji rushes in to catch her wife and have her rest in her arms. Rain pours hard but they don't care. Momiji looks down at her wife, who weakly looks up with a smile.
"Kasumi-chan…" Momiji says. "You don't look so good…"
"I'll…be fine…" The ginger replies. "I've been through…worse…" She winces at the pain she is feeling.
"You protected me…." Momiji says, tears stinging her eyes. "You gave it your all and yet…you're critically injured…! I'm so sorry I couldn't fight along side you…!"
"Momiji-chan…it's okay…" Kasumi says. "I'll be fine. I know….you will treat my wounds, right? You will take good care…of me…?" She weakly reaches out a hand to caress her wife's cheek.
Momiji sniffles and gently puts her hand on her wife's. "Yes…I will treat your wounds. Just hold on a bit longer…please…"
"I won't die from this…" Kasumi says. "I know I won't. Won't you say so yourself…?"
Momiji sniffles again. "Yes…yes…!"
The shrine maiden has to believe her wife will live through this. She is a shinobi and Momiji is as well. Something like being beaten almost to death should be nothing. It's definitely not compared to most enemies Momiji faced. The dark haired woman sheds tears as she leans down close.
"Kasumi-chan…"
"Momiji….chan….kiss me…" Kasumi's eyes flutter shut and puckers her lips.
Momiji nods and leans in to kiss her on the lips. They share a passionate, loving kiss under the rain. The two wives are always there for each other, whether it's dangerous or not.
