Hogwarts', like many other schools, magical and muggle, was a place run by rules! And,
while the student-body constantly claimed otherwise, many.. if not all.. of the rules of
Hogwarts' were in place for very good reasons:
The practice of magic CAN BE DANGEROUS in the hands of the untrained!
Take, for instance, Rule number 14 of EACH of the four houses; Gryffendor, Slytherin,
Hufflepuff, and Ravensclaw:
"NO ONE below a fourth-year should attempt a saeance!"
Now, one may ask, what is the harm in an innocent saeance?
Well.. for one thing, the barriers between the worlds of the living and of the dead
are such that *much* energy is demanded of those attempting to cross from the world of the
dead to the world of the living - and, of course, back again!
For a second thing, many spirits demand some sort of repayment of energies spent on
their crossings between worlds that MOST first-, second-, and third-year students cannot
even BEGIN to pay! Usually, that payment involves the loss of:
(a) Your lifeforce,
(b) your soul, or
(c) your sanity!
Of course, there are *ALWAYS* a few bakayarou who seem to think it their life's-duty
to try to see what happens if a rule gets broken!
Have you ever heard of Murphy's Law? It states, "if anything can go wrong, it will"?
Well, at Hogwarts', they have an addendum:
"Murphy knew a wizard!"
This, of course, gave way to a proverb: Anyone PURPOSEFULLY breaking a rule- *particularly*
Rule 14- is labled (if they are lucky - or cursed - enough to survive) as "Murphy's Friend"!
Thus, we find three of Hogwarts' second-year students.. Hino Rei, Aino Minako, and
Amelia Katherina Seraphim Snape-Mizuno (shortened in Japan to "Mizuno Ami") ..at an illegal-saeance!
Three future-"Friends of Murphy" (or? F.F.M.).
"Where is Mako-chan?" Minako asked excitedly.
"She said she had to read-up for Potions' Class, tomorrow." Ami replied to the blonde.
"Why?" Rei asked. "She is almost as good at Potions as you are, Ami-chan! And, you are the
best in ALL of Gryffendor! Hai Hai!"
"Well..", Ami shrugged, "Professor Snape IS a bit HARDER on Gryffendor.. for some reason..
I guess Mako-chan is afraid of making our house look bad?"
"Dano.. Why are YOU here, Ami-chan?" Rei asked. "I thought YOU would be the one studying
late into the night!"
"Gomen." Ami blushed. "Demo.. saeances seem *rare* here, for some reason, and- I guess- my
curiosity got the better of me!" She then asked Rei, "Why is Usagi-chan not here?"
"Iyaa.. she just warn us not to come. Hai." Rei choked out. "Besides, she probably would have
warned someone to watch out over us! Saeance never would have happened!"
"Hai hai! Usagi too much of Mother Goose!" Minako nodded.
"That is 'Mother Hen', Aino-san!" Ginny Weasley replied.
"Hai! That, too!" Minako smiled. "'You *do* realize spirits could demand you life.. or
worse?'" Minako mimicked Usagi in her more-serious moments. "Kukuku .. Is not like we have
not gone through death before! Hai?"
"Hai hai!" Rei snapped. "And we come back! No big deal!"
And? Ami sweat-dropped. For SOME reason, she thought that Rei was seriously tempting The Fates
just then! If only she had some sleep-potion with her to sprinkle over someone before anything
worse happened.
"I STILL find it AMAZING that you were Super-Heroines!" Hermoine Granger squeaked.
"And stood face-to-face with DEATH!"
Minako waved her hand dismissively. "No big deal!"
And? Ami face-faulted.. right onto the table! And whimpered.
"That is it! I am cursed! I will die, tonight. Guilty-by-association. Hai!"
All because of two bakayarou Senshi!
Then, Ami giggled lightly - and, a bit maniacally: Maybe she'd save Usagi some grief in this life..
and take the two said-bakayarou with her when she died?
About an hour later, from the Slytherin Girl's Dorm-room, came the most blood-chilling of
screams and the most-mournful of sobbing ever heard by either mortal or immortal! Tsukino Usagi,
second-year Slytherin, had jumped straight-up out of her bed, and landed on shaking hands
and knees, wild-eyed and dripping in sweat!
"Nani-yo, Usagi-chan?" Luna asked as she jumped back upon Usagi's bed after getting bounced off!
"It is.." Usagi fought to control her breathing, "the girls! Something.. is wrong.. with..
my joji!" She panted heavily. "Hold on, minna.. I.. am coming!"
And, Tsukino Usagi was soon out of her room, and outracin the wind!
Down the stair she ran, into the Slytherin Common-room!
"Hold on, Tsukino Usagi-chan!" Pansy asked. "Did that scream just come from you? Why did you scream?
And WHERE are you going at THIS hour?!"
"Gomennisaipansysama!" Usagi blurted out, still hypervenilating, "Demomyjojineedme! I am ..
coming ..guys... HOLD ON!"
"No!" Pansy quickly grabbed the collar on Usagi's pajamas. "YOU'RE not going ANYWHERE,
Miss Tsukino! NOT UNTIL I know where you are going!"
"GRYFFINDOR!" Usagi screamed into Pansy's face, almost causing the poor girl to whither
from decibel-shock! "My joji NEED ME!"
"Are you KIDDING, Tsukino-chan?!" Pansy blocked Usagi's way. "Flitch will catch you the MOMENT you
stepped out the Slytherin DOORS! Besides..", she smirked, "I am sure that, as *Gryffendors*, they can
squirm out of anything they manage to get into! All they need to do is emulate the *great* Harry Potter!"
"They are my GIRLS, Pansy! They are my JOJI!" Usagi screamed with tears forming in her eyes.
"You have FORGOTTEN how long I've KNOWN THEM! They like to think they are strong. IYAA! They are
WEAK! Outcasts when we first met.. they are still MISFITS! Hai! Even here! Ami-chan knows
MUCH that is in a book.. demo.. when you get her OUT of that book, she is unknowing.. and frightened!
Rei-chan is BEST at using magic, besides me, demo.. she has been sheltered too long, protected by
ojiisan! She is VULNERABLE outside Jinja! Makoto-chan? She is scared of being alone.. and wraps herslf
in loneliness! She can not open up easily! Hai! She tries to defend herself with fists.. demo.. fists
cannot protect heart. Dano.. she worries too much about me."
As Usagi confessed her fears for the umpteenth time to the older Slytherin, Pansy smiled reassuringly
and wrapped her arms around the girl. "And, what about Aino-san?"
"Minako-chan..", Usagi sighed, "is Minako."
"Ja. Let's go, then!" Pansy started to follow Usagi. "But, like I said, watch out for Flitch!"
No sooner had the two girls reached the common-room than they were met by Draco Malfoy, and his henchmen
Crabbe and Goyle!
"And just WHERE do you think YOU are heading to, Miss Tsukino?" Draco demanded, stepping directly in
front of Usagi.
"Gomen nissai, Draco-Sama!" Usagi quickly bowed, short of breathe. "Demo.. I must get to Gryffendor-hall..
my joji need me!"
"They are Gryffendors, Tsukino-Sama! As such," the Prefect said with perfect sarcasm, "I am *sure*
they care take care of themselves- or, their *friends* will! They can no longer be your problem, Tsukino!
MAKE them grow UP!" Then, he mumbled out, "Or, they'll drag you down."
"They are my GIRLS, Draco-kun! They are my JOJI!" Usagi screamed with tears forming in her eyes a second
time that night:
"You have FORGOTTEN how long I've KNOWN THEM! They like to think they are strong. IYAA! They are
WEAK! Outcasts when we first met.. they are still MISFITS! Hai! Even here! Ami-chan knows
MUCH that is in a book.. demo.. when you get her OUT of that book, she is unknowing.. and frightened!

"There is still Aino-chan!" Draco tried not to sneer.. and failed, miserably!
"Minako-chan..", Usagi sighed a bit heavily, "is Minako."
"Well.. alright!" Draco smiled, not an uncommon reaction around Tsukino Usagi. Then, he turned to his henchmen: "Crabbe! Goyle!
Watch over the Hall while I'm gone! Pansy and I are escorting Miss Tsukino to Gryffendor! There just *best* not be any problems..."
"Don't worry, Draco!" Crabbe grinned. "We'll see everything's quiet, here!"
"I'm talking about at Gryffendor!" Draco glowered!
After a minute, three low-flying brooms streaked through the halls of Hogwarts' to the doors of
Gryffendors' portal.
"Does anybody know the incantation to enter this place?" Pansy asked.
Within the minute, three Slytherins were charging like gang-busters through the Gryffendors' Commons!
This, of course, did not escape the attention.. along with the ire.. of certain Gryffendors:
"What are *you* doing here, Malfoy?" Ron Weasley questioned Malfoy.
"Seeing that things are running smoothely, *Prefect* Weasley!" Draco sneered out the title, wondering how in the world Weasley
got it. "As it is.. Miss Tsukino ran out of the girls' room in Slytherin, in hysterics, crying that her friends were in trouble. So,
Pansy and I are here to reassure her nothing is..."
"Ronal-Sama!" Usagi explained for the third time that night, "They are my GIRLS! Hai! They are my JOJI!" Usagi screamed with
tears forming in her eyes, yet again. "You have FORGOTTEN how long I've KNOWN THEM! They like to think they are strong. IYAA! They

"There is still Aino-chan!" Ron tried to reassure Usagi. "Certainly, she would be able to watch over them?"
"Minako-chan..", Usagi sighed, "is Minako."
Just then, Makoto came racing down the stairs to the Gryffendors' Common-Room in a PANIC!
"Where's Usagi? Where's Usagi? Where's Usagi?" Makoto repeated almost to the point of hyperventilation. "WEASELEY-*SEMPEI*! I NEED
to get to Slytherin! Girls need USAGI! Where is passage to... passage to.. passage.. to.. to..?"
Makoto started to hyperventilate.
"Makoto-chan! Makoto-chan? Makoto?" Usagi grabbed Makoto and shook her violently, screaming, "MAKO-CHAN! I am HERE! What is wrong?
I felt guys in trouble!"
"Idonnoidonnoidonno!" Makoto kept babbling. "Iwassleeping theywerescreamingcryingcollapsing.. somethingbad iwarnedtheyowww..." The
girl collapsed in hysterics!
Usagi sighed, pulled out an inky powder and sprinkled it over Makoto, and raised her wand:
"Somnulus!"
Suddenly, the panicky, hyperventillating brunette giantess was slumped over the tiny blonde, quite asleep!
"Ara.. Most-important potion Snape has taught us *yet*" Usagi sighed as she tried to disentangle herself from her sleeping friend.
"Ja ne.. Mako-chan! Mako-chan? What. Happened. To. The. Guys?"
"I tol' them was dangerous." Makoto mumbled. "Tol'em 'gains' rules. Nobody listens. Baka."
"What did the baka do, Mako-chan?" Usagi asked worriedly.
"Seaence." Makoto yawned.
"SEAENCE?!" Usagi screeched, dropping Makoto to the floor!
"You two lovebirds look jus' like ol' Flintwick an' Hagrid!" Ron Weasley laughed, pointing to the tangled Makoto and Usagi.
Usagi stopped in mid-stride up the stairs to the Gryffenders' girls' dorm. "Makoto?" Usagi called out to her sleeping friend. "Remind
me to kill Weasali Ronal-baka when I come back down! Hai!"
"Hai." Makoto yawned.
"SEAENCE!" Usagi screeched! "Of ALL BAKAYAROU stunts.. this tops it! If guys are still alive.. I will KILL them MYSELF! Then, I
will bring them back with Ginzhuishou, hai. And KILL them AGAIN!"
A machinegun-stream of curses followed the petite blonde with the odangos up the stairs to the girls' dorm. This shocked Draco and
Pansy, as Usagi had never even whispered a curse since coming to Hogwarts!
"'It'll serve Rei-chan right to get killed." Makoto mumbled in her sleep. Then, she chuckled. "Get'em Usa..."
Soon, a frantic Usagi was surveying the mess left behind by the illegal-seaence *and* fending-off a hostile Prefect Granger:
"I *swear*, Miss Tsukino, you are the *most*-infuriating *witch* in this school! Next to Malfoy! Get BACK to SLYTHERIN! These girls
will be alright! All they need is a little looking after from Madame Pomfrey, and.."
"Get OUT of my .. way! Granger-rana!" Usagi breathed out. "Or.. I will curse you into SLIME-WORM! Hai. You *think* Gryffendor-hall can
take care of my guys? DOKKOI! Gryffendor STARTED this!"
"And, I suppose," Hermoine groused, "getting a Slytherin involved will help the matter?"
"It will not hurt it any... Slime-worm..." Usagi growled.
"U.. sagi?" A voice softly moaned.
"Ami-chan?" Usagi turned back to the scene of the seaence.
"Usagi?" Ami struggled to get up and run to Usagi, and stumbled headfirst into the her Princess' lap!
"KOWAII!" Ami half-cried, half-screamed as she hung on to Usagi as if she were a life-preserver. "Kowaii. It was.. dark.. falling..
faster.. faster! Oh, Kami! Dano, I saw.. saw.. I saw..." Mizuno Ami started to hyperventilate. "Akumu! Muma.. akumu.. muma.. akumu..."
Ami wrapped her arms tightly around Usagi's middle and started to instinctively suckle her breasts, much to Usagi's shock!
"Ahhh.. Tsukino?" Hermione asked.
"Dokkoi. Dokkoi." Usagi whispered, stroking Ami's hair gently to try to calm her. "Ami obieru. Ami..."
At that moment, two other voices screeched out:
"Usagi-KAASAN!"
Suddenly, Usagi was struck by two incoming sorceresses! Hino Rei and Aino Minako both latched
themselves tightly to Usagi.
"Well.. Tsukino-Hime.." Snape said from the doorway. "Your joji are well enough to move! May I
*suggest* shepherding these three little blacksheep to Madame Pomfrey's?"
"Hai, Snape-Sensei!" Usagi bowed to the Potions' Master. Then, she bowed to Gryffendor's House-Mother:
"May I take my guys to infirmery, McGonigall-Sensei?"
"You may, Tsukino." Minerva McGonigall whispered with a smile.
As Snape and McGonigall stayed to try to sort out the mess, Usagi made for Madame Pomfrey.
"Severus?" McGonigall turned to the Potions' Master.
"I saw, Minerva." Snape answered. "Her eyes told all. Before we are through? Gryffendor may well LOSE a few students!"
As the Senshi reached the hospital-wing, Madame Pomfrey looked over at Usagi:
"News travels fast. Where are the Seaence-victims?"
Usagi looked over at Ami leaning on her left shoulder and Rei leaning on her right shoulder. "Here are two! Granger-rana is helping to bring in third! Hai."
"*Still* having problems with Miss Granger?" Madame Pomfrey chuckled.
"GRRRRrrrrr.. Granger-rana IS problem! Hai."
Hermoine started to reply, crisply, but one look from Usagi told her to keep quiet.
As soon as the three Senshi were placed in their beds, Madame Pomfrey started to examine her new-patients. Usagi found a chair in a corner and curled up into a ball.
A few hours later, before breakfast, the Senshi began to stir in their hospital-beds:
"Dare?" Ami whimpered as she tossed and turned, "Who .. are you? Who.. am I? dochira..?"
Rei seemed to be fighting someone. "Get away from me..."
Minako was thrashing about in her bed, sweating and hyperventilating: "Leave me... doragon..
onegai? I will not hurt... not hurt... not..."
Usagi then surprised Miss Pomfrey by going from a tight ball in the chair she was sleeping to a bouncing, excitable spring next to her Senshi's hospital beds in just
three seconds! Usagi, then, knealt over Minako with a damp-cloth that appeared, seemingly, from nowhere:
"It is.. alright.. Minako-chan!" Usagi breathed out. "I am here. Hai. No one will harm you. come, now. Wake up."
And, Minako woke up - wide-eyed and with a scream that, Pomfrey was sure, would have woken the dead from all over Britian and Ireland!
Usagi was able to calm the hystical girl down, as the other Senshi were roused roughly from their sickbeds, just in time for Minako to focus her eyes on Usagi.
Then, Minako screamed, again!
"May the gods help us," the medi-witch muttered, rubbing her ears and tempels, "the witchling's a banshee."
By this time, all three of the stricken Senshi were holding on the Usagi for dream life, as well as fighting to see
who would get to her breasts!
"Miss.. Tsukino?" Madame Promfrey asked as she tried to spy Usagi. "Are.. you alright?"
"Hai.. Promfrey-Sensei." Usagi answered in a wearied voice. "Just need.. potion and spell..
to produce milk?"
After two days in the hospital-wing - with Usagi and Makoto dutifully bringing what assignments they were allowed to to girls in the Hospital-Wing, Professors Snape,
McGonigall, and Dumbledor came to examine the Seaence-victims:
"So! Miss Aino." Minerva asked bluntly. "You said a dragon contacted you?"
"Hai! McGoniga-Sensei!" Minako answered. "Came.. to me.. speaking.. in.. Japanese? Strange dragon. Terrible."
"And, what was frightening about the dragon?" McGonigall asked.
"IT SCREAMED AT ME!" Minako jumped up and screamed in Minerva's face. "Like she was MAD at me! She said she would stuff me in pot and serve me in TEACUP!" Then, to the
disturbence of the Hogwarts' professors, Minako went from a typhoon in her rant to being dead-calm. "Iiede. That is not true. First, she said I caused her to become naked? How
could I do that? I want to see that.." Minako then giggled and chortled at the thought.
Minerva looked askence at Minako.. and then, at Usagi.
"Gomen nissai, McGoniga-Sensei!" Usagi face-faulted. "Minako.. is Minako."
"And, what of you, Hino-san?" Dumbledor asked Rei. "What were you shown?"
"Kowaii!" Rei put her arms around herself and shivered. "Mahutsukai. Onna.. Red hair. Grinning like Ookami. Eyes.. burning with fire. Kowaii. Then, she said I must pay
for doing harm! Me? Do harm? ME?" Rei fought to stay calm. She trembled, but never started hyperventilating. "Onna put her hands together and chanted. 'Darkness.. beyond twilight,
Crimson beyond.. blood that flows.. Buried in the flow of time...' Kowaii. Iiede. Get away. GET AWAY FROM ME!" Rei, then, whispered her next word as she curled into a ball:
"Onegai?"
"What of you.. Mizuno-san?" Professor Snape breathed out slowly and dangerously. "What did you.. conjure?"
"I.. do not know?" Ami quivered, her hands slowly moving over her body in self-examination. "She.. looked?.. like.. me? Demo.." Ami raised her hands higher above her breasts.
"She was.. biggeer... here?" Then she widened her hips with her hands. "Dano. Here? She just... looked at me. Kowaii."
"Scary, was she?" Snape growled low. "As she SHOULD have been.. Ami. And, I THOUGHT.. that you would have been the one Senshi to understand the SEVERITY and DANGERS involved in
a seaence! The others, I can understand. But you?"
"I.. was curious?" Ami meekly threw up a defence.
"Well..", Severus Snape smiled in memory. "So was your kaasan. Hai." Then, the Professor grew serious again. "But! That still does not excuse you from the consequences of the
seaence! Just.. be thankful.. the spirit did not demand your life! What did it demand, anyway!"
"I heard no demand, Sensei!" Ami stood and bowed. "Just.. a statement.. after she.. examined me. 'I fight.. on the side of justice and truth!'?"
"It sounds, Ami-chan," Dumbledor spoke, stroking his beard, "like it was a spirit of justice, weighing your heart! Maybe an incarnation of Anubis or Shiva?"
"I.. do not know.. Sensei." Ami whispered.
"Well?" Severus Snape looked down at Ami. "You and your.. sisters.. have managed to survive. Somehow. If you manage to survive the REST of the semester, I will say that you three
shall not fail. But, this WILL bring Gryffendor's points down. I highly doubt even the GREAT Harry Potter could pull the house up! Especially, since it was a Gryffendor who called forth
the seaense. As it is.. McGonigle will be writing letters to your families about this.. as is expected.. but! I shall be writing a letter to your okaasan, Personally, Ami!"
"Hai.. tousan." Ami whimpered.
"Goshinpainaku, Ami-Tenshi!" Snape smiled as he hugged and kissed Ami on the forehead. "Everything will be alright!"
"Will Usagi be alright?" Ami whispered. "She worries about us too much. Gomen nissai, aneue!"
"Usagi-hime will be alright." Snape grinned. "The Senshi, demo..."
Ami lightly chuckled, shaking her head. Her father was probably right, on all counts.
"I STILL cannot BELIEVE Ami Mizuno is Snape's daughter!" Hermione gasped to Usagi."Or, that she's a Gryffendor!"
"How did Miss Snape wind up in Gryffendor?" Ron wondered.
"Hat made a mistake." Usagi grumbled.
"Hush, Slytherin!" Hermione snapped. "The Hat has NEVER made a mistake!"
"It has this time!" Usagi shot back, then grinned evilly. "Probably Gryffendor Hat! Hai."
Hermoine then blew a raspberry at Usagi!
"Will not take bait, this time!" Usagi sang out. "Besides.. Hermoine not as kawaii as Rei-chan!"
That shut Hermoine up! The Gryffendor turned around, and headed-off to dinner.
"Finally! Something besides spell or potion to quiet Granger-rana!" Usagi grinned.. and headed-off to dinner, herself.
That night the Senshi were released from the hospital-wing. The next morning saw three ex-patients back in Potions' Class.
"Hello, Miss SNAPE!" A Slytherin used Ami's father's name as she sat down next to her partner. "How are you? And how is your good friend.. MURPHY?"
Usagi looked on in sympathy as Ami tried her best to hide under her desk, then turned to her partner:
"I will not hear one WORD from you about this, Duncan! Or, it will be last sound you make!"
"But, she deserves it, Tsukino!" Anabel Duncan whispered in protest. "That was a dangerously STUPID thing she did! Not at ALL like Professor Snape..
are you SURE she's his daughter? She must take after her mother."
Usagi sighed. The Senshi of Mercury had ALWAYS been a BIT too curious:
"Problem is rooted deeper than mother, Ana-chan!"
"Don't worry 'bout wot others say, Ami!" Her partner replied. "The seaence didn't seem to 'arm ye none, it didn't!"
"Please, Peter! Do not mention 'seaence', onegai?" Ami whimpered before slowly rising up in her seat, again. "Okaasan wrote me, and said since I want
to talk to dead so much? I help Medical Examiner during holidays!"
Severus Snape chuckled lowly. His ex-wife did have an amazing way of seeing things!
"Come, Ami-chan!" Minako chirped up - a bit too brightly, "Working for Coroner not so bad. Hai! Best job in HOSPITAL! HAI! No complaints!"
Hino Rei stared - open-mouthed - at Aino Minako. Then, started slowly distancing herself from her table-partner.
"You are right, Tsukino..", Pansey looked with sumpathy to Usagi at the table in front of her. "Minako IS Minako."
Ami then leaped over her table and aimed a wand at Minako, "Avera.."
"AMELIA KATHERINE SERAPHIM SNAPE-MIZUNO!" Professor Snape thundered as he rose from his desk. "You will NOT utter a killing-curse! ESPECIALLY within my EARSHOT!"
"She was.. about to kill me?" Minako meeped.
"A killing-curse has not been HEARD from the lips of a Prince, or their descendents,", Severus Snape comtiued, "since the days of my GRANDFATHER! And..

"Iyaa. Ami is not 'Trelawney, Jr,'." Usagi said as she pointed to Minako. "THERE is 'Trelawney, Jr.' Hai."
About that time, "Trelawney, Jr." snorted, charging Ami like a maddened-bull:
"MIZUNO! You were going to KILL me?"
Ami swirled around, eyes wide and wand drawn.
"Oh, dear." Snape whispered. "Saeko will kill me for this. Then, commit Seppuku."
Suddenly, an arm's length away from both women, an odangoed-witchling pirouetted and
tossed an inky-powder at Minako and Ami!

And Ms. Snape and Ms. Aino fell to the floor... safely in dreamland!
And Usagi fell to the floor of the classroom, in exhaustion!

Rei meeped and slid down into her seat.
"Demo.. you are Gryffenda dano, Makoto?"
"Only because hat-baka put me here. Hai." The giantess snapped at the woman-child under
the desk. "Hat thought I needed friendship. Usagi is only friendship I need."
"Hai." Rei whimpered. "Mokoto no kowaii.. like spirit that still haunts me."
"Hai!" Makoto nodded, arms folded over her breasts. "Maybe.. Rei will not confer with spirits, again? Except for fire?"

He then helped Usagi stand up straight.
