Chapter 4:
Hino Rei was sitting outside of Hogwarts School for Wizardry and Witchcraft, lost in her thoughts on a cloudy winter day.
Why was she even here?
Hino Rei was no witch.
She was a Shinto shrine-maiden! A miko! Not a witch.
Even though she seemed to have a knack for finding lost-items for their owners? Just by their auras?
That did not make her a witch!
Even though she could commune with spirits and was able to read the Great Fire within the Hikawa Shrine?
That did not make Hino Rei a witch!
Even though she recieved the letter from Hogwarts, signed by Albus Dumbledor and Minerva McGonigall saying she was
accepted into this exclusive school?
Did not mean she was a witch!
Ever when her Ojiisan, her grandfather, carefully and precisely explained her family's history to her!
That did not mean that she, Hino Rei, was a witch!
And? Even if it did? It did not mean she was a very good one!
Mizuno Ami-chan.. SNAPE-MIZUNO Ami-chan, now.. was better than she was at Potions, and Arithmancy, and Charms.
Kino Makoto was better than she was at Herbology and Potions.
Tsukino Usagi was better at EVERYTHING than she was! Supposedly. She only heard about Usagi's accomplishments because
her House and Rei's shared the same classes.
Usagi was in Slytherin, not in Gryffendor.
Why in Slytherin! Only students with bad-reputations went to Slytherin! Why wasn't SHE in Slytherin? Why Usagi? Usagi was
a good girl!
Well? Wait a minute. Not all Slytherin must be bad. Hat put Usagi in Slytherin, did it not?
That was part of the problem. Usagi was in Slytherin. And? Not with her Senshi.
And, Rei missed Usagi. Her leader. Her best friend.
Winter-holidays had been better. Everybody got to go home. And, be with Usagi, more.
Then? The Senshi came back to school.
Rei should have stayed home.
The spring-semester Sorting Ceremony had brought changes to Hogwarts. Some good, and some bad. To the miko's mind, more
bad than good. The only good thing that came to Hogwarts was the Assistant-nurse, Mizuno-Snape Saeko! She seemed to calm
Ami's spirit, somewhat.
Especially, after the "bad" showed-up at Hogwarts! The "bad" being in the physical-manifestations of the nightmares that
had landed three of the in the Nurse' Office after Rei, Minako, and Ami had attended that damned seaence!
"Damned seaence"? Rei weakly chuckled, berating herself, more like "The Seaence of the Damned"! Was not there a rule,
somewhere, against that sort of activity? It did not make things better when, after the fact, Ami scolded her for saying
that she ansd Minako had made a light-subject about haveing died as Sailorsenshi! Well? She - Hino Rei - did, somehow,
mentioned it flippantly.
Hino-no-BAKA!
Then, this semester, Lina Inverse and her squad had come into Hogwarts, mostly into Slytherin!
And? Hino Rei's world had gone streight to HELL, on a very fast train!
Hogwarts Express was not as fast!
She REALLY should have stayed at home!
The Jinja was much-safer.
The Trip-to-Hell had began when Ami-chan had managed to get in an argument with Upperclassman, Weasel Ginnie-baka!
Upperclass-baka had started it! Rei had heard Ginnie screech. Reminded Miko of Esmarodo of Blackmoon.
Hino's ears still hurt at the memory!
Afterwards? Ami ran to the Gryffendor Tower, followed closely by her mother!
Ami hadn't talked much to the Senshi, or, any other Gryffendor, much, sense! Expect for Makoto. And? Mako-chan wasn't
saying anything about it!
Rei-chan really, REALLY, wished she had stayed at home!
Then? Came the nightmares.
Brought on, the Miko was poitive, by one redheaded witch named Lina Inverse! She didn't know how the redhead was doing it,
but? Rei was SURE that Inverse had cast a curse on her to enter her dreams, at night, and turn them into nightmares!
It started a week after the Sorting. Rei was thinking about the Sorting-Feast, and what could have set Mizuno Ami - or?
As she preferred to be called in Britian, Amelia Ketherina Seraphim Snape-Mizuno - into a panicky-state? What the Miko
remembered was watching Ami .. ara .. Amelia, because the blunette was reverting to her super-shy self, from her earliest-
days as a Sailorsenshi!
Then, after noticing every Senshi's faorite-bunny, Amelia Katherina Seraphim wavered in her shyness, and started playing
"Peek-a-Boo" with Usagi!
Who knew that Ami was yuri?
'Wait-a-minute!' Rei thought with a sudden smirk. 'Until Uwada Ryu-kun was put in danger by the Dark Kingdom, who know
that Ami-chan was ANYTHING Sexual! I almost thought of her as an android! Computer in girl-costume!'
Rei secretly wished she could program that little blue sex-doll, right now!
But, then, Rei remembered the argument, again, and the reason the argument started:
Ginnie Weasley:
The Baka of Gryffendor, "Esmerodo, Junior", had DARED to call her Princess a "Demon"!
'Weasel should roast on spit for hurting my Ami! Calling my Usagi demon!'
Wait-a-minute! HER Ami? HER Usagi?
Since when was Mars the center of The Milleniums?
Rei rolled herself into a tight ball and blushed! 'Hope no one sees this,' Rei thought to herself 'Most of all, Minako-baka!
Or? Inverse-youma!'
Lina-Inverse, the Queen of Rei's nightmares!
The first night the nightmares started, she went to bed wishing, praying, she could talk to Usagi!
And that night, as Rei dreamed, she deamed she was on her way to Slytherin Tower. But? As she got to the entrance, she was
stopped by Lina Inverse:
DREAM=DREAM-DREAM-dream-dream-dream-DREAM=DREAM-DREAM-dream-dream-dream-DREAM=DREAM-DREAM-dream-dream-dream-DREAM=DREAM-DREAM-dream-dream-dream-
"What brings Gryffendoro to Slytherinu?" Lina asked harshly.
"I.. want to speak.. to.. Tsukino Usagi-chan! Hai!" Rei answered.
"Let me think." Lina smirked. "No! What is password?"
"Lemondrops!" Rei answered.
"No!" Lina snapped. "Wrong password! Go home! Go to Gryffendor! Shoo shoo."
"But..?!" Rei started to protest. "But.. I wish to see Tsukino Usagi-san!" Rei pleaded.
"What is password?" Lina asked, again.
"Chocolate frog?" Rei responded.
"NO!" Lina snapped out, once more. "Wrong password! Go home! Go to Gryffendor! Shoo shoo."
"I NEED to be with Usagi-Sama, onegai?" Rei got down on he knees and begged Lina.
"What is password?" Lina chirped.
"Ara... Butterbeer?" Rei tried to answer the redheaded Sorceress.
"No." Lina grinned a bit too sweetly. "Wrong password! Are you sure you are witchling? Go back to Gryffendor here you belong!"
And, Rei was sent back to Gryffendor, whimpering. And, wearing a dunce cap.

And, Rei woke-up crying, never having seen Usagi in her dreams.
And, so if went, whenever the Miko felt she needed to talk to someone, whether at Hogwarts or back in Nippon!
First it was a dream about Usagi, then a dream about Ami, then about Makoto, then about Ojiisan...
The mornings after each dream, Rei would feel emotionally-drained, and at her wit's end!
Even her morning-meditations she had learned and practiced since childhood had not helped!
So? After three weeks of nightmares, Rei decided she needed the aide of the School-Nurse, and swollowed her pride and went to see
Nurse Poppy Pomfrey and Assistant-Nurse Mizuno.
'Not all Slytherins are bad,' a weary Hino Rei thought as she shambled into the Nurse' Office, 'No matter what baka Weasels think!
Ginnie as baka as her niisan! Ron-baka.'
Nurse Pomfrey and Assistant-nurse Mizuno-Snape both took notice when Rei almost fell into the Office from exhaustion.
"What happened to YOU, child?!" Pomfrey jumped into action.
"Doko Kappa?" Mizuno queried.
"Kappa ne." Hino whimpered. "Just need sleep. Nightmares."
"Nightmares?" Poppy asked, then looked to her Assistent. "Saeko-chan?"
"Sending for Severu, now!" Saeko answered. "What happened, Hino-chan?"
"Could not sleep good", Rei was, somehow, able to mumble coherently, "for... three weeks? I think?"
"Three weeks?" Poppy asked. "Since the semester started?"
"No wonder she looks assaulted!" Saeko quietly exclaimed as she examined the Miko. "You are Head-Nurse, Pomfrey-Sensei! What do we do?"
"Get the child into a bed, Saeko-chan!" Poppy replied soothingly but authoritatively, "And wait for Severus to bring a fresh draught
of sleep-potion!"
"Snape-Sensei is Heado-of-Pharmacy?" Rei eeped as she looked to Saeko. "I will be poisoned?"
"Iyaa!" Saeko answered the Miko crisply. "My Severu will not poison Miko! Our Ami Katherina never called for your death! Did Usagi-chan
call for your death?"
"Do not know! Maybe?" Rei sniffled. "Do not know what happens in Slytherin? Have not talked to Ami-chan.. Amelia, gomen.. since fight
with Weasel Ginny?"
"Weasel-Baka!" Saeko sighed. "Baka baka! Do not remember Arti-kun being baka?"
"Arthur Weasley has his moments, and don't let this out, Saeko-chan," Poppy leaned in conspiritorially, "but? The younger-children take
more after their mother!"
"Hai." Saeko groused. "Thought I hear Pruett Mollie in them. Feel sorry for Arti! Marry 'Albert-Ross'!"
"Who married an Albatross, my Saeko?" Severus Snape asked, announcin his presence. "I am here bearing fresh potion! Who needs it?"
"Witchling suffering exhaustion from lack of sleep in Bed number seven, Severus!" Pomfrey said to the Potios'-Master. "We just put her
in the bed! And, between, you, me, and your wife? The albatross we were talking about is Mollie Pruett."
"Ah!" Severus chuckled, in a dark humor. "The millstone around poor Arthur's neck! I remember Lucius Malfoy trying to warn his cousin
away from that sychophant! I am also sure that - when the time comes to autopsy him - we shall find traces of love-potion in his system!"
"And? Speaking of potions?" Professor Snape turned to Poppy's newest-patient. "Konnichi-wa, Hino-chan! I have.. heard.. you're having trouble
sleeping! I do not know the wherefor or the why, yet, but? That is unimportant, right now! What is important is for you to get some rest. Yes.
The rest of the story shall be known shortly-enough." Snape took a pinch of black powder from a sack at his belt and sprinkled it over Rei's
body:
"Somnulus!"
As Rei woke up a few houurs later, she was given a "Prescription" by Nurse Pomfrey.
"We do not know, yet, Hino-san, who - or? what? - is causing your nightmares? But? We are sure that something is happening! I am, also,
sure that something in the Hogwarts buildings is multiplying the effects of whatever spell in causing the nightmares. So? For now? I am
prescribing some time, outdoors! Outside of the school's walls. That, and some meditation-time, should alieve that major-affects of the
spell!"
So? Rei was taking Nurse Pomfrey's advise. And? The major-affects were lessening, somewhat. If halped that she was seeing less of certain
Gryffendors! Mainly, the Weasleys. And? Minako-baka!
'Gryffendoro-baka?' Lina Inverse' voice popped into her head again. 'I thought Gryffendors were family?!'
'Only family because McGoniga told us we would be family!' Rei's thoughts shot back at Inverse' voice!
'So? Gryffendoro is not family?' Inverse inquired.
'Not all!' Rei shot back. 'Only a few! only few.'
'Few who?' Lina asked. 'Who few?'
'Inverse sounds like owl.' Rei moped.
'Answer question!' Inverse shot back. 'Who is few?'
'When was Inverse lawyer?" Rei countermanded. 'Few is Snape-Mizuno Ami, Kino Makoto, Potter Harry-Sama ano Longbottom Neville-Sama! Maybe..
Granger Hermion-Sama? Rest of Gryffendoro can go to Hell!'
'Good good!' Inverse' voice snapped out in Rei's head. 'As for lawyer? Am I lawyer? Iiede. Was I lawyer? Iyaa. Know lawyers? Hai. Next
question! YOU, Rei-chan, have trouble getting along with lawyer! Why lawyers! Father is lawyer? It that why? Trouble with family?'
'Hai. Father is lawyer, is politician,' Rei answered. 'Father is... WAIT A MINUTE! HOLD! How do you know about Otousan ?!'
"I have ways of finding out, Sailorsenshi." Lina grinned as she faced the Miko. "Am sorceress, am thief, am blackmailer! Hai! I have my ways."
And, Rei visibly shivered.
"Hino Rei-chan cold?" Lina smirked. "Why not go back to Gryffendoro?"
"If I go back to Gryffendoro, now?" Hino Rei growled dangerously, "Argument started by Weasel-baka with Ami-chan? End in fight with me!"
"Rei-chan is learning!" Lina smiled. "Good girl!"
"Hai! Good girl for Usagi, I hope?" Hino said, starry-eyed. "Good girl for Ami-chan?"
