The rest of the week went by without incident. Adrien didn't bring any other new pieces for Marinette, but she continued to wear the necklace and ribbons every day. She had a few sketches in her book of ideas for the Chat Noir themed fabric she had at home, but she didn't spend much time working on it. That weekend, she spent all of her free-time and some of her not free time working on Alya's dress.

Marinette ended up losing quite a bit of sleep over that weekend and Alya decided to out her for losing sleep in their group text. On Monday morning, when Alya was outing Marinette's tiredness in their group text, Adrien decided to go to a local coffee shop.

He entered Miraculous Coffee and looked around. He saw Margot at the counter and went over to the wall of Miraculous themed coffee travel cups on the wall. He saw a tall, silver travel cup that was themed to look like Chat's baton and he couldn't help himself.

He picked it up and brought it to the counter. "Hey," he said to the barista, "can you fill this with a Chai Noir?" Margot raised an eyebrow at his request.

"Fill it with a what?"

"Chai Noir?" He pointed over to a small sign. "It's on the sign near the cups." Adrien knew that Chat Noir put the sign up when he was in the shop last night, but he also knew that there would be no reason for polite model Adrien Agreste to know that it wasn't a special that was offered at the shop.

Margot motioned for a coworker to bring her the sign. It was laminated.

'Drink of the Week
"Chai Noir"
Chai latte + espresso'

She rolled her eyes at the sign and put it behind the counter. It wasn't worse to make than any other drink, so she printed off the order of 'chai latte + 1 shot espresso' and stuck it onto the side of the cup.

Adrien paid for the drink and left an extra big tip to make up for himself as Chat being a pain in the ass and getting so many of his 'drinks' for free. He stepped over to the pickup counter and it only took another minute or so for his drink to be finished. He picked up the cup with a big smile on his face.

He walked over to their school and when he walked into the classroom, he saw Marinette laying her head on top of her satchel on her desk, seemingly trying to take a short nap. Her arms were roughly stretched out in front of her. He walked up to her and put the cup in front of her hand, he briefly touched her hand and she opened her fingers, agreeing to the touch. He took her hand and lined up her palm with the coffee cup, causing her to wrap her fingers loosely around the base.

She lifted her head to look at what she was holding and was pleasantly surprised to find that the item in front of her looked like Chat's baton. She saw that across the bottom edge of the container, it was marked with 'MIRACULOUS COFFEE'.

"What's this," she asked, smiling. She stretched before she picked up the cup.

"It sounds like you had a long weekend," he responded, "so I got you a coffee." She took a sip. "Well, technically I got you a 'Chai Noir.' It was on a sign at Miraculous Coffee." Marinette had to repress a laugh at the name Chai Noir. "It's basically a dirty chai, but with a better name."

"It's delicious, but you're spoiling me, Adrien. I really don't need you to give me this much Chat Noir gear. I would have been just as happy with a normal cup of coffee, not that you needed to get me any coffee in the first place. I really appreciate it, but you don't have to take care of me just because I messed up my own sleep schedule this weekend."

"I'm not trying to take care of you," he corrected. "I'm just trying to be nice. If Alya or Nino lost sleep because they were doing something nice for someone else, they would be getting coffee. They only lose sleep for themselves, though."

Alya stuck her tongue out at Adrien's ribbing. "Excuse you, I lose sleep for the good of Paris," she corrected, "how would Ladybug and Chat Noir take care of Paris without me constantly updating my blog. And no one has ever given me a Ladybug coffee."

"If you get Ladybug or Chat to tell me you deserve to be given coffee for the greater good, I'll bring you one the next morning." Alya's smile got bigger, armed with the knowledge of how easy it would be to get Ladybug to tell Adrien how much she deserved coffee, at least how easy it would be on a day when Marinette wasn't dead on her feet.

"You got yourself a deal, Sunshine." He could practically feel the level of smug radiating off of her.

"If you do that, though, you can only have me get you coffee like once a week, at the most," he clarified, wanting to make sure he wouldn't be getting Alya coffee every day for the rest of their lives. Her face dropped slightly, but she nodded agreeably.

Marinette slowly sipped her coffee throughout the course of their morning classes. She was visibly dozing off less than she was when she had first walked into the classroom that day. By the start of their afternoon classes, Marinette had finished her drink and was able to be awake and aware of the lessons they were learning.

She put the cup into the side pocket of her satchel to make sure she wouldn't forget to take it home that day. From that day forward, she filled it with coffee each morning to keep herself awake.

On Saturday night, she had a surprise visitor. She heard a gentle rapping on her balcony trapdoor and immediately rushed to open it. She wasn't thinking about the fact that she was very clearly wearing her necklace and ribbons.

"Hey, Chat," she said excitedly. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Word on the street and in your backpack is that someone is a fan of mine. And based on your new accessories, I'm inclined to believe the rumors." He leaned on his baton, trying to keep an air of mostly joking with her. "I saw that you have one of the Chat Noir themed coffee tumblers when you were walking to school this week," he admitted.

"Yeah, but who isn't a fan of the heroes of Paris?"

"Ladybug has plenty of fans. Practically every citizen is a fan of hers, but from what I've heard around, you're the only one who prefers me to Ladybug without just thinking I'm more attractive than her." Marinette furrowed her eyebrow at that comment, questioning how often people would have to talk about Chat's attractiveness in order for it to get back to him.

"Well, don't worry. I don't think you're attractive." She paused to think over what she had just said. Chat gave a full hearted laugh, like that was the first time anyone had ever said something like that to him. "Nope," she squeaked. "That's not what I meant. I meant you're more than your looks, but they're not bad. You're just… a hero, you know? You're powerful, and helpful, and you care about Paris and the people. You're resilient. None of that has anything to do with how you look."

"Thanks, Princess," he said through a low chuckle. "Anyway, I'm here because I figured I could give you something to add to your collection, from the coolest cat in town." He smirked at her and held out a box that was nearly identical to the one Adrien had given her for the necklace.

Marinette took the box and it looked to be earrings to match the necklace Adrien had given her. It even had a matching tag. In Chat's messier handwriting, it read 'Fur my Num-purr one fan.' She smiled at the puns, even more than she seemed to smile at Adrien's. "Thank you, Chat," she responded, "They're really pretty. I think Ladybug might argue for the title of your Number One Fan, though."

"She might," he assented, bopping her nose with the flat of her finger, "but Ladybug doesn't wear my merch." Marinette raised an eyebrow at his claim.

"What makes you say that?"

"She's Ladybug," he said, like that was a valid answer to her question. He sighed before he continued, "I mean, it would be neat if she did, but she probably has more important things to do with her time than getting my merch. She also probably wouldn't take the time to put my ribbons in her hair in the morning." He batted at one of the little bows in her hair with a smirk resting on his face.

"What if she does?" Marinette did her best to make her voice sound innocently curious, even if she had ulterior motives behind the question. "Maybe not the ribbons, but what if she does have some of your merch that she wears to support you as a civilian?"

"I'll give her a chance to make the claim, but I still think you deserve the title more." He rested a hand under his chin to show that he was thinking about the possibility. His smile grew at the sight of her blush.

"Well, I'll be sure to wear my status with pride." She rose on her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on his cheek. His blush was able to match the color of her favorite pair of capris.

"I'm glad," he responded when he gained the ability to speak again. "I have to head out, though. I have to patrol." He knew he didn't have to patrol and he wanted to spend more time with his princess, but after her reaction to his gift, he didn't think he would be able to handle keeping a conversation going.

"Okay," she sounded slightly down compared to her excitement from a moment before. "I'll see you soon, minou?" Her voice raised to ask him to confirm that he would come by to see her again.

"Of course, Princess." He reached out to take her hand, placing a soft kiss to the back before he left through the trapdoor.

On Monday, Adrien was excited to arrive at school so he could see Mari wearing the earrings that he had given her as Chat Noir. He didn't see them. She was just wearing the plain silver looking earrings that she would usually wear. He wouldn't let his disappointment show. She was still wearing the necklace and ribbons as well as carrying the coffee tumbler.

He found himself fidgeting, trying to figure out why Marinette would use everything Adrien had given her, but she didn't wear Chat's earrings. 'Does she not like Chat Noir?' He immediately berated himself for the idea. The entire reason this was happening was because she was a fan of Chat Noir. His number one fan, in fact.

'Does she not like the earrings?' What sense would that make? She had to have liked them to give Chat a kiss on the cheek last night, right? Adrien never got a kiss on the cheek for his gifts, but she wore them every day.

He didn't notice that his friends were talking to him while he scrutinized his own thoughts. Marinette waved a hand in front of his face to try to get his attention. He shook his head slightly, refocusing his attention to the conversation.

"Sorry," he immediately apologized. "I spaced. What were we talking about?" Nino chuckled at his best friend.

"Marinette was saying she might get a second piercing," he told Adrien.

"In my ears," Marinette clarified. "There are so many earrings in the world and it's a shame I can only wear 2 at a time." He supposed that might answer the question of why she wasn't wearing the earrings he gave her, but he didn't understand why she would choose to wear such simple earrings instead of the ones he gave her. He even checked and learned the pair he gave her glow in the dark like the necklace.

"That sounds like it would be nice," Adrien told her. "Especially since you wear this pair so much. It would be nice to mix things up once in a while." Marinette seemed satisfied with his answer and smiled fondly.

Marinette didn't mention a second piercing again and Adrien was still a little curious about the earrings. On Tuesday evening, he went out as Chat Noir to ask about them. He was hopeful that he could get away with just saying he saw her in passing again as an excuse to ask about them.

He knocked on the trapdoor when he approached and she called out permission for him to come in.

"Hey, Mari," he said in greeting. "Is there something wrong with the earrings?" He didn't mean to be that blunt, but now the words were out of his mouth and there was no going back. Marinette was too distracted by coming up with an answer to wonder how he knew she hadn't been wearing them.

"No," she said, moving toward the earrings protectively, "they're amazing. I love them. Plus, I don't know if you know, but they glow in the dark. Seriously, they're wonderful." She touched her own left earring. "I'm just kind of scared," she said quietly. "All my friends know Adrien has been giving me your merch and if I show up with something he didn't give me, I don't want them to question where I got it. I just don't want anyone to figure out that you and I are friends and use that information against you."

Chat looked at her, with a look of disappointed acceptance on his face. "I guess that makes sense," he mumbled.

"I'll try to find something to do with them," she told him. "I just might not use them as earrings." She placed a hand lovingly on his forearm like she had done with Adrien in the past.

"You don't have to." His lips turned up into a smile when he came up with an idea. "If I get you something else for you to use at home, will you?"

"As much as I can," she admitted. The answer came out before she could even think about it, but she didn't regret saying it. He nodded, trying to not show too much enthusiasm.

"In that case," he said, "I'll see you this weekend, Princess." He winked before jumping back through the trapdoor. It had been over a week since Adrien gave Marinette anything and now he had an excuse to start giving her gifts from a second source. She couldn't get annoyed at Adrien giving her several gifts if he wasn't the only one, right?

After Chat Noir left Marinette's room that evening, he got a call on his baton. He saw that the call was from Ladybug and he answered, expecting the worst.

"Hey, Chaton," Ladybug said before he could even say hello. "I saw that you're out and about. Can you swing by the Agreste Mansion and let Adrien know how much we appreciate the Ladyblog. Kthxbye." She hung up before he could get a word in. He smiled fondly at the screen of the communicator, then detransformed to do some shopping.

The next morning, Adrien showed up early with a coffee in the pocket of his backpack and a black mesh bag in his hand. He approached his friends.

"Ladies," he said, "I come bearing gifts." He bowed gentlemanly, holding out the coffee to Alya and the bag to Marinette. For Alya, he had given her a cold brew with two pumps of sweetener and oat milk. It was in a Ladybug themed tumbler.

The Ladybug tumbler's cup part was a shiny red color with black spots with the words 'Lucky Charm!' written in cursive on one side. The top of it was a matching matte red plastic. It wasn't as creative as the Chat one he had gotten for Marinette, but there wasn't really anything that Ladybug had that would translate to the cup as well as Chat's baton did. Just like the baton tumbler, this one had 'MIRACULOUS COFFEE' written across the bottom.

Alya's eyes were huge when she took the cup from Adrien. She hadn't really been serious when they made the deal and she hadn't even mentioned it to Marinette since that morning last week. Alya took a sip and was shocked by the fact that he had gotten her usual order.

"Thank you, Adrien." Her voice was filled with shock and awe. "This is perfect." She held her phone to Nino. "Will you get a picture of Mari and I for the blog?"

Marinette set her bags down, putting the bag that Adrien had just given her on top so that it wouldn't get dirty when she heard she was expected to be part of the picture. Alya linked her arm through Marinette's and they stood angled slightly away from each other, drinking their coffees from their free hands. Alya approved the picture that Nino took and started posting it on all of her socials while Marinette picked her things back up.

"Are you going to open it," Alya prodded, pointing at the bag that Adrien had presented Marinette with. Marinette nodded and opened the top of the bag. The black of whatever was inside against the black from the bag made it look empty, but she put her hand in and felt fabric. She took the first thing out of the bag and held it up.

It was a black t-shirt with white paw prints 'walking' up the chest pocket.

"Aww," she exclaimed quietly, "that's adorable." She ran her fingers over the fabric on the pocket.

"There's more," Adrien mentioned before Marinette could become too engrossed in investigating the garment. She put her hand back into the bag and felt something the same texture as the shirt. She pulled it out, too, revealing a pair of matching shorts. On the shorts, the paw prints 'walked' up the right side seam.

"These are amazing, Adrien," she said, inspecting the garments. "Thank you, but you really don't have to keep getting me things."

"It's been over a week since I've given you anything," he responded. "It's not a crime to do nice things for my friends. Alya gets coffee, you get a shirt and shorts, Nino… hasn't asked for anything, but I love him and will get him some hero merch if he asks for it!"

"I love you, too, bro," Nino said from beside Adrien, not that either of them could hear Nino's voice beyond the conversation that the two of them were having.

Marinette wanted to refute the claim about it being a week, but after a moment she remembered that the earrings were from Chat, not Adrien. She nodded, a bit reluctantly. "I guess you're right, but you know you don't need to buy our friendship, right? We like you for you, not because you get us cool hero stuff."

He smiled understandingly. "I know. I just… I'm having fun, if that makes sense. You don't have to wear the set if you don't want to, but it just seemed like something you would like."

"I do. I really do like it. I just need to make sure you know that we," she pointed to herself, Alya, and Nino, "like Adrien," she gestured to him, "more than we like things."

"Even if these things," he gestured to the set, "glow in the dark." Her eyes widened in shock. She looked around, checking how much sun there was. The sun was shining despite there being a few clouds in the sky. The clothes had been out of the bag for a few minutes and they'd been in the sunlight, collecting UV light.

Without thinking, she grabbed Adrien's wrist and sprinted to the same closet they had gone to the previous week. This time she didn't even think about the fact that it was just going to be her and Adrien in the closet together. She closed the door behind them and held up the pieces.

"This is so freaking cool," she said excitedly. "You're so freaking cool. I didn't even know that it was possible for fabric to glow this brightly. It's amazing." She practically tackled him in a hug. His fast reflexes from his years of Akuma fighting were the only things keeping the two of them from getting knocked over. "This clothing is great, but you're even better," she said quietly from close to his ear. "Thank you, again."

Adrien's heart rate spiked from the proximity and the intimacy of her actions, no matter how platonic they were meant to be. They stood hugging for another few seconds before the situation caught up with them. They separated just in time for Alya to open the door.

"Come look at this," Marinette told Alya excitedly. Nino and Alya came into the closet, once again making the situation slightly weirder than it would otherwise be, but they were both impressed by the fact that the paw prints glowed a stark, bright green in the dark. It took less than a minute for the group to appreciate the garments before they all decided to leave the closet.

Marinette put the clothes into her backpack before practically bouncing up the stairs of the school. For the rest of the day, Adrien could hear the faint sounds of Marinette excitedly shifting in her seat. She habitually held the necklace, creating the soft scraping sound of the metal of the pendant on the metal of the chain.

Amidst the soft scratching of metal, Adrien could hear the soft scratching of Marinette's pencil on paper trying to come up with an idea for what to do with the fabric Adrien had given her last week.
