Hello, all.
Some of you may have already seen a similar note to this one the WIP sequel to Between the Lines, which I've titled Beneath the Stitches. Though this story has been marked complete for several months, I'm back to say...
I'm so sorry, but I'm writing to tell you that I plan to remove all of my work from FFN soon, probably in about a week. I know some of you loved Between the Lines dearly and were really looking forward to where this sequel would go. I hate to let you down, but at this time it's the right move for me. Here are some details:
For a long time, writing fanfiction was a great escape and helped me manage my anxiety. But lately, as anxiety triggers in my personal life have ramped up, it's no longer serving that purpose. Sadly, it's become an additional trigger. I put too much pressure on myself to write something great and to get it done quickly, and while I do enjoy and greatly appreciate the kind feedback I get, I'm much more dependent on it than I used to be. I don't like that feeling.
I'm really thankful to have read a post on Tumblr from a writer in my other favorite fandom (Jonsa, GoT) who said she took down a fic because that choice made her less anxious than leaving it up and incomplete. When I read that, I considered that path for myself and it brought such a burst of comfort that I decided to go for it.
Thank you, again, for your encouragement through Between the Lines and through the first few chapters of this story. And thank you in advance for understanding this decision. If you'd like, feel free to save yourself a copy of my work before it is removed.
Last thing. If you want discuss the ideas I had in mind for remaining chapters, you can reach out on Tumblr where I have a fandom account using the same name, DakotaDelacour. I don't expect to be as active on that account moving forward, but if you message me with a question, I'll be sure to get back to you eventually.
Thanks,
DakotaDelacour
