Morning comes, and Lucy and Susan had barely slept a wink all night. Kayla was still passed out in the woods, but the other girls thought she had went back to the camp.

"They've gone. Let's head back to camp."

"We can't just leave him lying there."

"Oh, my legs are about to give out. I feel so tired."

"Well, we have been up all night."

The girls look out over the hill and they can see Cair Paravel.

"Cair Paravel. Do you suppose we'll ever reach it?"

They hear a loud crack, and think something worse has happened.

"They've done something worse to him! Come on!"

They run back to the Stone Table to find Aslan's body gone and the Stone Table in two pieces.

"They might have left his body alone!"

"But who has done it?! What is it?!"

"Deep magic!"

"Aslan!"

"Oh, Aslan! You're not dead, Aslan!"

"No! Do I look like it?! Oh, I feel my strength coming back to me! I feel it is time for a roar! You better put your fingers in your ears!"

Aslan lets out a roar that the girls could still hear through their plugged ears.

"Wait, where is Kayla?"

"I haven't seen here since we hid the woods last night."

Unbeknown to them, Ivar had woken up and gone looking for Kayla. He found where she was and carried her back to the camp to be cleaned up.

"We've got to find her!"

"Athair!"

"Kayla! What happened?"

"While watching what happened last night, my emotion hit me really hard and I threw up. Multiple times. I blacked out afterwards, and when I woke up this morning, I was in a tent. Ivar told me he came looking for me and he cleaned me up."

"Aslan. We want to ask you, how did it happen?"

"We saw you on the Stone Table , tied up and, we saw you."

"The witch knows the deep magic, but there is a magic deeper still which she has never known. For her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. Before time ever began, there was a different incantation. When a willing victim who has committed no treachery offers his life in a traitor's stead, the Stone Table will crack and death itself will be denied."

"Oh. I see. We cried our heads off, and you knew all along it would be alright."

"You took that risk, to save Edmund."

"Come. We've a long journey ahead. You must ride on me."

"I've got to get back and prepare for battle with the boys. Athair, does the witch know who we are?"

"Yes, she does. Be safe on the battlefield, M'inĂon.And tell the princes the same."

"I will!"

Susan and Lucy got on Aslan, and he flew up into the air. They had never flown before, not even in a plane. Back in the camp, Peter was trying to figure out what to do without Aslan.

"You'll have to lead us, Peter. There's a whole army out there waiting to follow you."

"I can't!"

"Aslan believed you could! And so do I!"

"We do, too."

"Kayla, you're not up for it."

"The hell I'm not! I wasn't given my mother's sword just to let lay in the sheath. I intend to use it! And I will use it, starting in this battle! You can't stop me! If this is a woman thing, women have lead armies before! And I am a queen in my own right, therefore you have no authority over me!"

"Peter, here comes Oreius."

"What are your orders, my prince?"

"We have no choice but to fight."

"This is a war we will win. I am most sure of it."

"What are our plans?"

"We can't know for sure until the battle officially happens. We'll have to make those decisions when we see the witch's army face to face."

"Oreius said that place where the battle will happen is called Beruna."

"Beruna. It's a pretty name. A name that's rememberable."

Back with Lucy, Susan, and Aslan, the girls were enjoying the flight over he land of Narnia. Lucy put her arm in the air so she could feel the wind, and Susan pulled her back in to keep her from falling off.

"The witch's castle! Hold tight!"

The girls ducked their heads for fear that they might be seen by whatever was in that castle. Aslan almost made a soft landing, and the girls tumbled off of him, giggling the whole way down.

"That was fun!"

"Yes!"

They stopped to look around them. They saw the statues that filled the courtyard, and it puzzled them.

"What a weird place."

"It's like a museum. What's Aslan doing?"

"I don't know."

Aslan walked over to statues of a nymph with a horse and breathed on them, and they came to life again. The fountain that Lucy and Susan were standing next to sprouted water again. Aslan continued to breathe statues all over the castle to life again. Fauns, nymphs, birds, dogs, dryads, and horses could now roam free again. Aslan stood next to the statue of a giant, and the girls were amazed by it.

"Look at that! Is it safe?!"

"Oh, yes! Once the feet are put right, the rest of him will follow!"

"That's not exactly what I meant."

Aslan breathed on the giant's feet, and the rest of him came to life as Aslan said he would.

"Bless me! I must have fallen asleep! Now, where is that little witch that was running about on the ground?!"

"She had a magic wand! And she turned you into stone!"

"What's that?!"

"Turned you into stone, she did. And I've just restored you!"

"Well, drop me! Hahahahaha!"

Susan and Lucy go into the castle to see if there are any more statues left, when low and behold, Lucy found the statue of Mr. Tumnus.

"Aslan! Aslan! Come quick! I found him! It's my friend Mr. Tumnus the faun!"

Without hesitation, Aslan breathed on Mr. Tumnus, and he came to life again.

"Lucy! Daughter of Eve, you came back!"

Lucy and Susan both run up to him, with Lucy anxious to hug her friend.

"The witch is gone. Aslan has saved you."

"Aslan!"

Back with Kayla and the boys, they were still getting ready for battle, with Peter's heart, mind, and soul all in a craze. He feared for Edmund, Ivar, Kayla, and himself on the battlefield, and he feared for what happened with his sisters.

"I just wish I knew where those girls were."

"With Aslan. Wherever he is. No need to fear for them."

"Peter, you're going to get your head knocked off your shoulders if your mind is not on the battlefield."

"I suppose you're right. I wish they were all here. Especially Aslan."

"Before we leave, might I say a prayer?"

"Please do so, Kayla."

"Great God Almighty, we come to you now in the name of Jesus, scared an humble. as he did in the garden of Gethsemane. If it is your will that we sacrifices our lives for the good of this country, then so be it. We are scared, and if this is the only way it can be done, so be it. Whatever your will is, let it be done. For the armies of Hell will not prevail against us. Amen."

"Amen."

"Let's go to war, boys."

They mounted their horses and headed for the fields of Beruna. Whatever their fate was, they were willing to except it.
