Full chapter title: With Every Shade Under The Sun
Everyone woke up the next morning well rested, despite being in battle and half of everyone being wounded. And some were dead. The camp was packed up and everyone headed for Cair Paravel. The castle had not been lived in for 102 years. Once inside, the six children were lad in different directions to get ready for the ceremony. Peter to the north wing, Susan to the south wing, Edmund to the west wing, and Lucy to the east wing. Kayla followed Lucy and Ivar followed Peter. They were all led to their own rooms.
"Why did you pick the same wing as me, Kayla?"
"The east wing faces the sea. The sea is where Terebinthia is."
They all bathed and chose their coronation robes. They wanted to be simple with what they wore. Lucy chose a light blue long sleeve dress with a red cape and she had her hair curled. Susan chose a cadet blue dress with faint gold threads and solid cadet blue long sleeves. She wore a teal cape. Edmund wore a cadet blue robe with long black sleeves. The robes had white embroidery of birch leaves. He chose a silver cape. Peter chose royal blue robes with light blue long sleeves and gold embroidery of oak leaves. He wore a gold cape. Ivar wore black robes with long currant red sleeves. He chose no cape. Kayla chose a white off the shoulder dress with diamonds embroidered at the top. The dress had long sleeves and a cape on the skirt that was red on the inside.
The trumpets were sounded, alerting all of Narnia to the coronation. The throne room was filled with Narnians. Down the main aisle came Aslan with the boys on his left and the girls on his right. The Pevensies went to stand in front of their thrones while Ivar and Kayla stayed behind. Peter and Susan stood before the inner two thrones, while Lucy and Edmund stood before the outer two. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver came down the aisle with pillow trays that held the crowns, with Mr. Tumnus in tow behind them.
"People of Narnia, our princes and princesses have returned to us safe. Albanach, Rosheen, Lunradmund, and Eiblilín, along with our Prince of Ettinsmoor and the Wild Lands of the North, Íomhar, and our Princess of Terebinthia, Caoilfhionn. We will crown them under their new names. To the Glistening Eastern Sea, I give you Queen Lucy, the Valiant."
Mr. Tumnus set a silver crown of laurel leaves, laurel flowers, and yarrow flowers on Lucy's head.
"To the Great Western Wood, I give you King Edmund, the Just."
A silver crown of birch leaves was placed on Edmund's head.
"To the Radiant Southern Sun, I give you Queen Susan, the Gentle."
Tumnus placed a crown of gold daffodils and mountain ash leaves on her head.
"And to the Clear Northern Sky, I give you King Peter, the Magnificent."
A crown of gold acorns, oak leaves, apple leaves and the sun was placed on his head.
"Caoilfhionn. Íomhar. Come forward please. Narnians, the kingdoms of Terebinthia and Ettinsmoor and the Wild Lands of the North have not been re-established. So, until they are, they will be made the Lord and Lady Protectors of Narnia, to act as regents the kings' and queen's stead. Kings and queens, did you choose titles for them?"
"Yes we did. For Ivar, we chose to make him Baron of the Marshlands, and Guardian of the Marsh-Wiggles. For Kayla, we chose to make her Baroness of Dancing Lawn, and Guardian of the Dancing Trees."
"They will also need to be knighted."
Peter and Edmund have both Ivar and Kayla get down one knee to they could be knighted.
"Ivar, I dub thee a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Lion. Kayla, I dub thee also, a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Lion."
Then, it was Edmund's turn to knight them.
"Kayla, I dub thee a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Table. Ivar, I also dub thee a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Table."
"Caoilfhionn, Íomhar, now you both have to be knighted in your own kingdom's orders. I will do that myself. Then afterwards, you both will knight Peter and Edmund."
So that would hold more titles for their own kingdoms, Ivar and Kayla both had to be knighted for their own realms.
"Peter, Edmund. Come kneel beside Caoilfhionn and Íomhar. Caoilfhionn, I knight thee, in the name of the Order of the Flame. Now, it is your turn to knight the other three."
"Peter, Edmund, and Ivar. I dub thee all, knights of the Order of the Flame."
She used the Silmaril Sword to do so, and even though the blade turned to fire in her hands, the flames did not burn the boys.
"Ivar, it is your turn now. I knight thee, in the name of the Order of North Winds."
"Caoilfhionn, Edmund, and Peter. I'm taking great joy in doing this. By the Power vested in me by Aslan, and my people who are no longer with us, I knight all of you in the name of the Order of the North Winds. Rise."
"Once a king or queen in Narnia, always a king or queen. May your wisdom grace us until the stars rain down from the heavens."
"Long live King Peter! Long live Queen Susan! Long live King Edmund! Long live Queen Lucy! Long live Lord Ivar! Long live Lady Kayla!"
Emissaries arrived from all over that world. From Archenland, Calormen, Telmar, and countries on the far side of that world.
"Seanathair Elrond?! Aintín Galadriel?! Col Ceathrair Legolas?! You're here!"
"Yes, little Caoilfhionn, we are here."
"I'm not so little anymore. I've been this height since I was ten. Pevensies! Ivar! Come meet your family!"
"Lord Íomhar has no ancestors and relatives left."
"We've accepted him as family. We think of each other as siblings anyways. Pevensies, this is your an tríomhadh seanathair déag Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, your seachtú sean-aintín Galadriel, Lady of Lothlórien and your cousin Legolas."
"Our what?"
"Your thirteenth great-grandfather Elrond, your seventh great aunt Galadriel, and your cousin Legolas. They are Elves."
"Wait, I always thought Elves were short, like dwarves."
"Not in this world. In this world, Elves are immortal, wise, fair, and tall. Will you all be joining us for the feast?"
"We certainly will."
Lucy ran off to the banquet hall balcony to see Aslan walking on the beach, walking away from Cair Paravel. Kayla and Mr. Tumnus joined her.
"We'll see him again."
"But when?"
"In time. You mustn't press him. He's not a tame lion."
"No, but he's good."
"Here. I think you need your handkerchief more than I do."
The two walked back to the feast, leaving Kayla to stand there alone.
"Goodbye, Athair."
