I fell asleep on the way to the Inuzuka compound and didn't wake up until the next morning to the sound of crying in the crib next to mine. It would appear that Kiba had woken up. I also found that I was wearing a diaper that I had apparently pooped and peed in it.
I saw Hana and Tsume walk in and they picked both of us up. Hana was surprised that while I didn't cry even after soiling myself I just picked at the diaper to draw her attention.
"Watch out for that one Hana." Tsume said with a grin while looking at me. "He might only be less than a day old, but he is very smart and very slippery."
"What do you mean mom, he looks like a perfectly normal innocent baby to me." Hana said with a grin while looking at me and cooing at me. I just laughed and acted all innocent.
"You'll see soon enough." Tsume sighed out.
After Hana changed Kiba's and my diaper we then had a meal of smushed fruit and shredded meat. I guess since the babies in this world are more advanced physically even at birth it was okay, maybe.
I was then left with Kiba in a play pen with a bunch of toys such as blocks, balls and stuffed animals. Kiba went and hugged a stuffed duck and started rolling around. I of course got an idea and went to the blocks.
Hana watched us first and would occasionally play with us until lunch time. I had built my pieces with the blocks and balls and was just waiting for a moment where I wasn't being watched. I got to see Hana's dogs during lunch and they were all very cool. I kind of wanted to go play with them.
After we were done Hana brought us back to the play pen. She then had to go to the bathroom. It meant I finally had my chance. I took the different pieces I had left around and put them together to create a giant L shaped wedge. I then used the balls I had made room for under the L to move it over to the edge of the play pen. All it took is a little rocking to cause it to fall over on top of the wall and knocking it over. I then crawled through to freedom.
After my escape I went as fast as I could to the hallway and peeked around the corner. I saw a dog down the corridor and quickly hid. I rechecked after a couple of seconds and the dog was gone. I then went down the hall and followed the dog's path.
There is obviously only one thing to do when at a compound full of dog ninjas. Playing with puppies.
I finally reached the outside and hid in a bush as fast as I could. There was a ton of ninjas and their dog companions around them. They were inside a pen with a ton of puppies playing around and feeding them. I was jealous. How come they can play with the puppies but I was stuck with the stupid duck hugger.
As I looked around I noticed another pen that had two puppies in it and not a single ninja in sight. I crawled over to the pen and pushed open the door before moving over to the puppies. They both looked at me and whined weakly. Poor puppies.
I reached over to them and hugged them to me. I felt a slight drain from them on my chakra, but they both seemed to be getting more energetic as they absorbed more of my chakra until they both stopped and were jumping around me in happiness. I of course decided to also play with them by rolling around with them and petting them which caused them to be very happy.
There was suddenly a low growl from behind me as a huge dog came out of the dog house. It was even bigger than Tsume's dog which I had already thought was big enough to swallow me in a single bite. This dog had sharp red eyes and fangs the size of my baby arms. It's claws were each the size of my forearm and it's fur was pitch black with an almost shine like look to it. It was easily twenty times my size, but what surprised me the most was that it had two horns on top of it's head.
The two puppies ran up to it and I realized that it must be their parent. I also realized only now that maybe the reason why nobody was at this pen was because they might get killed by this creature. I'm not sure what it is, but I am sure it isn't a dog.
The creature came over to me after sniffing the two puppies and checking them over to make sure they were okay and seeming satisfied and slightly surprised at how good they were doing. It sniffed me a bit and then licked my face with it's tongue which was around the same size as my body. I got covered in drool and gave it a look of being grossed out as I tried to shake and wipe the drool off. I could swear I heard it laughing at me.
After that I continued to play with the puppies until we heard some yelling and Tsume eventually showed up outside the pen with a grave look on her face along with a couple other ninjas and their dogs.
"My god, he got in the demon wolf pen. I'm surprised he isn't dead yet." One of the ninjas said to one of the other ninjas who nodded.
Well that tells me what these guys are. Also holy shit these are Demon wolves. They sound a ton more dangerous than a simple wolf which is already incredibly dangerous to me right now.
Tsume looked at me surrounded by the wolves and yelled out. "Just sit still little guy I'll get you out of there in a second." She then turned around and told the ninjas that she might die when holding off the mother demon wolf, but that they would need to get me out of there as soon as they could or I might die along with her.
Tsume then opened the door and entered the pen with both her and her dog while holding a kunai. The mother wolf stood up and moved between us and Tsume while growling. I looked between the two as the tension grew before I had enough and cried out.
The second I cried out both Tsume and the mother wolf looked at me before turning back to each other. I cried out again and rolled over in-between them as they looked at me in confusion.
I went in front of the demon wolf and patted the ground which confused her for a little bit until I patted the ground again and she finally got it and laid down in front of me. I then pet her head while hearing a bunch of surprised gasps as the demon wolf mother snorted while her tail flopped around lazily.
After a couple of seconds I then rolled over to Tsume and patted the ground as well. She looked at me in shock for a second before hesitantly laying down on the ground where I then proceeded to pet her. I could hear her dog letting out some repressed laughs as I heard the ninjas let out another gasp in shock.
I felt Tsume stiffen up and looked to the side where the demon wolf had walked over to us and was looking at Tsume in the eyes for a couple seconds before nudging her with her nose and walking back to the puppies and laying down with a snort. The puppies went over to their mother and snuggled up to her before falling asleep in the shade of the tree they were all under.
Looking at them being all peaceful I let out my own yawn and rolled into Tsume's lap and resting my eyes. Stopping a fight to the death was tough work for someone not even a day old. Tsume picked me up and as quietly as possible in order to not disturb the puppies nap she and her dog went out of the pen and walked towards the house.
I opened my eyes and saw the looks of shock on everyone's faces. The most shocked and confused face of all was Tsume's. After we got inside the house Tsume put me in the play pen which had been fixed and the L was on the other side this time. Tsume sat in the corner and just stared at me. I went over to a pile of stuffed animals and a blanket and laid down to rest a bit. Man those puppies have a ton of energy and really know how to make a guy tired.
I listened as Hana walked in and sat down next to Tsume while her dogs went over and hung out with Tsume's dog.
"So mom, I heard a mixed bunch of stories about where the kid went after his escape, which by the way is insane since being able to strategize like that should be impossible for a baby." She said while pointing at the L. "And making a plan like that shouldn't even be a thing at his age, He's only a day old, not even a day. What the hell is he?"
"I don't know." Tsume said quietly. "He survived inside of the corpse of his mother two hours after she died when a normal baby would be long dead by that point. He is apparently a Senju and a super genius can explain the ability to escape without killing himself, but that doesn't explain it. After you came and got me we tracked him to the demon wolf pen. I of course thought he would be dead, but I saw him sitting their surrounded by the three of them acting like it was perfectly normal to be surrounded by creatures that could kill even jonin level ninja in a frontal clash if they weren't very careful and skilled. Even the pups could potentially kill a genin level ninja if they decided to attack." Tsume took a shaky breath and continued.
"I thought he had maybe just got in there and the mother didn't think he was big enough to even be her snack. I readied myself to fight her to the death to get him out before the two pups could kill him, but you know what she did?" Tsume asked as she looked at Hana who shook her head. "She went and moved to protect him and the pups. I thought at first she was just moving to block me from stopping them from attacking him, but then the little guy let out a cry right before we could fight. Both me and the Demon wolf looked at him in shock and it threw me off. From what I could tell it threw her off as well."
"That was some amazing timing he had there, a second later and you two would have already started fighting." Hana said in wonder as she looked at me.
"That it was." Tsume said with a sigh. "Then when I focused back on the wolf he let out another cry and of all things he rolled between us. I don't know what he was thinking, but that was plain crazy, but you know what is even more crazy. After he rolled between us he got the demon wolf who is a species known for fighting to the death before bowing down to another to lay down and he petted her like she was a dog who he was trying to comfort." Tsume said and let out a laugh.
"I heard that he did the same to you too mom." Hana said with a sly grin.
"That he did, that he did. After all, if even a demon wolf would accept that then why the hell wouldn't I." Tsume said with a grimace.
"After he petted me I looked up only to come face to face with the Demon wolf and I at first thought I was going to die then and there with my head bit off, but I think because of the both of us getting stopped and petted by him as equals it let us come to some sort of understanding of some sort. The demon wolf simply looked into my eyes and nudged me a bit before going back to her pups. I took the little guy and left as quietly as I could so as to not wake up the pups and basically walked all the way here in shock. I don't even remember coming in here or sitting down. I'm still shaking Hana, I really thought I was going to die today."
"Well at least everything worked out in the end and personally I'm really glad you aren't dead mom." Hana said while giving her mom a hug.
"I wonder what I'm going to tell the third when I report this. Damn I need a drink." Tsume growled out with a scowl before smiling.
"Well at least now we know that we can just throw him to the wolves to watch over him. I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to try and kidnap him from a group of demon wolves and it'll keep him out of trouble."
Oh poor Tsume, don't you know that if you throw me to the wolves I'll only come back stronger. LOL. Now how do I deal with this sensation of being connected to those three. It kind of feels like if I really wanted to I could summon them. Oh no I think I know what this is. This is the same kind of connection that the Inuzuka clan is known for forging with their dogs. Well whatever, by the sounds of it the demon wolves are stronger. I'll figure out more later, for now it's time to get some sleep.
