I decided to go on a training trip after another month had passed and everything was going smoothly.
I had made new departments to handle different things in the village in a more orderly manner and had set up a chain of command that would oversee each other. As the hokage I would get an outline of what each department was doing on a weekly basis instead of everything all at once and I only needed to make decisions when it involved legal issues or multiple department. Those usually required permission to move ahead. I also made schools that could teach the basics to a higher level and not just ninjutsu. Most learning was done at home by a child's parents and only included what was needed to take over the family business. I changed that so anyone who wanted could learn by paying 100 ryo a month to be taught by retired merchants or other learned individuals.
It was very popular and was increasing the number of students daily, which also increased the money the village could spend on internal improvement. I had made the basic departments and sub departments and had given the people who qualified for the positions the position they wanted based on their ability to do the job and not just on whether they were ninja or not. Even the fire lord was interested in the things I was doing and we had become friends over our letters. I would often send him a bottle containing the juice his wife loved and he would send me something from the capital he had found interesting.
I worked with Lo to make more things from my book I had gave him, and with the supply of jade stones I had from the sand village starting to run regularly we could now use them as a proper power source.
We had built a functioning car and even had some other projects going on using steam engines that used chakra and water with a few seals to make it run and could now start working on all of my other ideas. Chakra was an energy source and had an untapped potential. People only saw it as a way to do war, I see it as a universal tool that can change the world in infinite ways.
I had gotten Hashirama's sword from his treasury as well as Tobirama's treasury and combined them into one massive treasury outside the house in a cave I had made. It was a kilometer underground and had so many seals built into the cave walls that even if someone could destroy the world twice over they wouldn't be able to scratch my vault. I had made it so that only I could enter and I had to be alone. It would allow whomever I designated as my heir to enter only after I died and would continue to do so. I also made a library in another branch of the vault that contained only the best jutsu's I had ever found.
The test Hashirama's sword gave me was to be unaffected by the base desires of humanity. It was funny since I already knew that most of the things it was showing me were pointless illusions and I didn't really feel anything for the illusions. I know what the people in the illusions would tell me in those situations and material goods don't phase me.
It ended fast enough and the sword had sworn to fight by my side so long as I was not swayed from my path by my base desires.
I just laughed and told the sword that my path was not so shallow as to be swayed by any desires since I would live freely and indulge in my desires as a part of my path.
It was confused until I explained that while I indulged my desires it was also only because my desires furthered me along my path. The two feed into each other to make me grow stronger.
It decided to still accept me even though I followed my desires. I think it was just interested in seeing what I would do. The sword turned into a seal on my wrist that I could summon with my chakra.
I left the village two months before Tsunade and Shizune were going to give birth and promised them that I would be back before they gave birth. The ANBU and the council insisted I bring along a squad of ANBU to protect me, but I eventually convinced them to only have two ANBU follow me since it would defeat the purpose of my training otherwise. They weren't happy, but it was the best they would get and they knew that if I really wanted to I could escape with nobody following me.
They did have a reason to be worried though since Orochimaru still hadn't been caught and a hokage wandering in the wilds was a huge target for anyone who wanted to make a name for themselves.
I spent the first week going through the entire lands under the fire lord and defeated every group of bandits I came across. I shocked the guards at the capital gates when I put down a ball made of wood the size of the city wall containing all of the bandits I had caught. I had even caught a couple of missing nin. I had them put all of the reward money into my account and visited with the fire lord who showed me around the capital for two days. He had also taken my idea for different divisions to better manage his lands and things were starting to move faster and even more smoothly. A couple of people had been caught embezzling funds and had been executed and the funds were once more being used properly.
I had a good time, but I needed to go again. So with a goodbye and a promise to write and tell him about my travels I once again set off.
Tsun and Dere had been with me as well, though they were now both the size of a small hill and couldn't move about without drawing attention. They were however able to hide their tracks since they could use their energy to make themselves move at high speeds and even remove their gravity to the point of barely touching the ground. If they really wanted to they could probably even fly, though it would cost a ton of chakra.
Tsun and Dere had outgrown their mother by a lot now and had come to a decision to go back to the mountain where they had been born. So this trip was also for them as much as it was for me to train.
It took two days to reach the mountain and we were stopped by a wolf who was the same height as the twins and looked like he was ready to throw down with them even though he would probably lose.
"Who dares trespass the holy demon wolf mountain?" He asked with a growl.
"We two are wolves who were chased away from the foot of the mountain along with our mother when we were just born. We have returned to claim back our rightful spot on the mountain along with our alpha." The twins returned.
"You have a human ninja as an alpha?" He laughed. "Are you two wolves or dogs? Did you get domesticated and have fallen so low as to show your bellies to a creature that is nothing more than a snack to our kind?"
"Do not speak of our alpha in such a way you rabid mutt out I'll tear your throat out?" Dere growled at the wolf in anger causing the rocks nearby to rumble.
"You might be able to take me together with the female, but don't forget that the power of a wolf is not only his own, but only a piece of the pack." He said with a wolfish grin as a group of smaller, but still huge, wolves started to appear around us.
"It looks like they won't accept me as your alpha without me proving myself you two." I told them as I stepped forward. "In that case I'll just need to prove it."
The wolves in front of us just laughed and the largest one we had been talking to said with a sneer. "Oh, lets see what the snack can do to entertain me."
I cracked my neck before pulling my shirt off and tossing it to the side. The shirt hit the ground and shook the mountain. The wolves all stopped laughing and stared at me in shock as they looked between me and my shirt.
I continued taking off my clothes with each piece causing the mountain to shake. The final piece I took off was an ankle weight and it caused a small avalanche of stones to fall down the side of the mountain. I then looked at the big wolf in the eyes and said. "So who's first."
"Um." He said in shock as mounting horror and panic began to bloom in his eyes. "I think I may have been mistaken honorable sir. I believe that I owe you an apology for my rude behavior and will go now to better reflect on how to conduct myself in front of visitors." He then turned to run away only to stop when he noticed me still standing in front of him before turning and looking over his shoulder at where I had just been standing. The wolves around us were now all open mouthed with wide eyes at the speed I had moved.
"Now then." I said with a grin. "It wouldn't be right if you didn't show your visitors around." My smile grew wider. "However first I think I still need to prove my alpha position."
For the next five hours all that could be heard was the sounds of screams asking for forgiveness and mercy and the ground rumbling with whines and yelps sounding out over the mountain. After the five hours were over wolves ran from the area like the devil was chasing them. The large wolf looked the worst out of them all, but he was still acting like a servant before a lord as I rode on his head. Tsun and Dere followed behind while letting out snickers.
The wolf was named Shal and showed me around the mountain before stopping in front of a cave that also looked to be a temple. He explained that this was the temple of the demon wolves and only those who have proven themselves to the various packs could enter. I of course could enter since he was the current strongest wolf on the mountain and I had beaten not only him, but also all other wolves with him all at the same time. This made me the new alpha of all of the wolves on the mountain and they would all heed any orders I gave.
Shal then warned me that the only wolves that I could not order was those inside the temple since they were considered the temples guardians and they needed a special agreement to be signed before they would listen to anyone.
"I see." I said before climbing off of the wolves head. "Tsun and Dere." I called out. "Why don't you two take the Anbu with you and introduce yourselves to the wolves around the mountain. I'll probably be in here for a while if this is what I think it is."
"But hokage sama, we need to be with you to protect you if anything happens." One of the ANBU tried to argue.
"You two are strong, but you won't be able to do anything if the one's inside this temple decide to attack. So just go with the twins and wait for me to come back out. Don't come in since if you do it might put me in danger or possibly upset the guardians."
"Very well hokage, we heed your orders." The other ANBU said while the first one just sputtered.
"You have good underlings." Shal said in approval. "They care about you, but also understand the need to follow your orders. That is something every alpha likes to see in their subordinates, even if those two seem a bit weak."
"They are weak in some ways, but they are also skilled in others." I smiled at the praise.
"Interesting, I think I'll keep an eye on them and see if they do anything interesting."
"Okay, take care Shal."
"You as well alpha." He nodded to me before following after the twins and the two ANBU.
I turned around and headed into the temple and was instantly surrounded by fog. I just closed my eyes and used my other senses.
"Oh, this one is interesting, he didn't panic even a bit and he immediately closed his eyes." I heard a female voice chuckle.
"He doesn't seem to be surprised from you speaking and didn't even strike out at you when you are that close to him. Either he has very strong control over his body or he can sense your lack of bloodlust." A deep voice said from farther away.
I immediately stepped to the left when I felt some bloodlust thrown my way lazily and heard a swoosh in the air.
"Oh it seems he has both." The first voice said in amusement. "Do you think we should test him, maybe he can succeed where everyone else has failed."
"We might as well." The deep voice said with a sigh. "Hope always breeds despair when they fail."
"Okay little human, so the test is this. You need to dodge or block five attacks from us and survive. If you can do that then you can move on to the next stage." The female voice said in amused joy.
"May I ask who you two are?" I asked politely.
"What a polite fellow." She said in happiness. "My name is Su and his name is Kol. We are the first guardians of the wolf temple. There are a total of seven guardians and one overseer. If you can get past the three trials you can become a wolf sage and get to summon us and our packs. If you do really good and show me you are really strong I might even be willing to have your pups."
"Why do I get the feeling that you just want to see puppies?" I said with a smile.
"But they are so cute." She squealed in happiness.
I think I already know this type of troublesome woman and I'm already tired before I've even seen her.
"Lets just get this over with." Kol said before causing me to dive to the right as I sensed a movement to my left.
"That's one." Su said before I had to once again dive further right as another movement happened to my left again.
"Two." I panted. I then had to fall on my back as I felt a flow of air right above me barely missing me by an inch.
I then had to block the fourth since it came from above at a speed I couldn't dodge. It felt like I got punched by a cement truck and my arms groaned under the pressure.
The fifth attack didn't even have any forewarning and just full on hit me from below and caused me to fly upwards and hit the roof. It hurt a lot, but it was over and I could see the fog dispersing to reveal my two attackers.
The first one to appear was Kol. He was a tall man with dark bags under his eyes and silver hair that flowed down his back. He had an expression on his face that spoke of absolute irritation and boredom with the world. He wore a blue kimono with a golden sash. His eyes were a bright blood red with a slit pupil.
Su was kind of what I was picturing. She was a tall woman with huge boobs and long silver hair. She also had slit pupils, but her eyes were golden yellow instead of red. She had long legs which she showed off by wearing very short shorts and a sports bra kind of bra. She was hopping up and down in excitement and her boobs were also jumping with her. Them mechanics though.
They both had a pair of wolf ears on top of their heads and they were showing that they were paying attention to me while their tails moved lazily behind them. I landed on the ground in a superhero landing and looked at them with a grin before saying. "And five, I win."
"Hmph." Kol snorted.
Su ran up to me and was hopping all over the place while talking so fast I could barely catch a single word she said.
"Su, you are super cute, but I can't understand a single word you are saying." I told her after holding her shoulders and looking in her eyes.
She just made a whine sound and blushed before covering her face. Her tail was wagging really hard though so I knew she was happy.
"Very good then human. You beat this test now go and die in the next." Kol said with disinterest while waving his hand dismissively at a set of stairs leading downwards.
"Don't die person." Su said sadly. "I like you and want you to give me puppies. Some soft and cute puppies." Su said instantly getting more happy at the thought of puppies and becoming distracted.
Well okay then. I went down the stairs and reached a circular room with five raised platforms where five of the guardians sat. Two of them were men with black full plate armor. One had an axe for a weapon while the other had a sword. They both had shields that depicted a wolf howling at the moon. It looked pretty cool.
The other three were women. One was obviously an archer. She was very pretty with green eyes and a gentle expression. The second was some sort of ninja. Though it was the more traditional ninja with the black suit that covered everything but the eyes. It was very form fitting and hid nothing. Though that might be the point since if a male fought her he would probably be distracted from the sight. Also wolves already fight nude and don't feel any shame from showing their bodies, so it makes her even more dangerous.
The last person in the room was the one I was the most worried about. She was a little girl. No matter how I look at it, I can't beat up a little girl. This test will be my undoing.
"This test will be a test of strength. You will fight all five of us and only when you defeat us may you move on to the next and final test." The guy in the armor with the axe told me before they all jumped down and rushed me.
I dodged an arrow that the archer shot and used a kunai to knock away a shuriken the ninja threw. When the two in armor reached me I used the axe to block the sword strike at my arm and jumped to dodge the little girl before kicking the helmet of the axe wielder to knock him onto the little girl. I had noticed that when the little girl punched at me her chakra came out as a thin needle and probably was going to cause internal problems if she landed a hit.
I rolled to the left to dodge another shuriken and had to fall onto my back to dodge the arrow. I jumped onto the sword wielder and kicked off of him to roll into the range of the archer. The ninja threw a couple kunai at me before starting to form signs. I punched out with my fist and hit the archer in her right shoulder while she dodged the hit from directly hitting her. The punch however was thrown with the knowledge she would dodge a full blow so I hadn't held back with the hit. The hit caused her to let out a whine before being flung into a wall and becoming indented into it.
I had to jump backwards and put the sword wielder between me and the ninja since I didn't know what jutsu she was using and it wasn't a second to soon since I heard the sound of a bell ring out before the sword wielder was thrown backwards into me and almost trapped me between him and the wall. Instead I dropped to the floor and caused him to fall onto his back by tripping over me.
I rolled forward and rushed at the ninja only to have the little girl run up on my right side and strike out at me. The axe wielder leapt in front of me and swung his axe down at me to split me in half. I kicked out at the little girls stomach and caused her to back off as she tried to swipe at my leg only to withdraw as I turned the kick at her into a roundhouse at the axe wielders axe and knocking it off target only to bury it in the ground. He pulled upwards and tore it out of the ground with brute force. I noticed a crack forming in the hilt and punched at his face. He of course blocked with the axe and I hit the crack and caused it to snap in two. He let out a growl in irritation before throwing the pieces at me and almost impaling me with the handle.
The ninja used this time to set up a formation around the room and I suddenly began to feel that I was getting heavier. I noticed the archer beginning to pull herself out of the wall and felt that it was time to finish the fight.
I knelt down much to the confusion of everyone and they all stared at me before their ears caught my quick chant.
"I call upon the blood within to awaken the power sleeping inside mine heart, release the inferno so that all who would stand in the way of the majesty may fall in waves upon the earth as harvest too must fall. Release the hounds and bay at the blood moon in madness as this night falls upon the battered earth and relish in the slaughter of countless gods. Evernights countdown." I yelled out the final part before a 10 appeared on my back and changed to a 9.
The whole chant was complete crap I made up just to make others feel freaked out and distract them until I got the technique going. It was a technique I made based off of the eight gates technique. It opened all of my gates and the countdown was based on how much chakra I was using to increase my physical stats. Each number represents 10% chakra in the bodies physical parts. It doubles my stats each time I go up a number until it reaches 0. If that happens it means that I have overloaded the amount of chakra in my system and will be at a ridiculous amount of power. It also means I'm about to die by exploding.
I proceeded to beat the five guardians until they couldn't move anymore. I started by running behind the ninja and slapping her on her arms and legs and flicked her on her forehead with each hit causing her to fall to the side I had hit her towards. It sounded like a single huge slap because of how fast I was moving and I could already tell that the only one who could follow my speed was the little girl, though even she couldn't move fast enough to stop me.
The next one I went to was the archer, I pushed her back into the wall by pushing on her chest. I also groped her chest a good bit while I was at it and she ended up stuck in the wall while vines restrained her and was blushing with a shy smile.
I went and dealt with the two in the full plate armors next by using a version of the Hyuga clans internal attacks. Instead of using my chakra to damage their chakra veins I just used it to cause my attacks to hit their muscles and tendons. It caused the both of them to end up on the ground twitching and groaning in pain.
I then stood in front of the girl and looked at her with a smile before she let out a sigh and said. "I give up, you win."
"Really?" I asked with an even bigger smile.
"Are you planning to bully an innocent child?" She asked in mock horror. "How cruel."
I smirked and said. "If you are an innocent child then I'm a dragon pretending to be a fish."
This caused her to laugh before she exploded in smoke to reveal a beautiful woman in a green kimono with golden pictures embroidered on it. She had long silver hair tied into a ponytail with a bell on the end that sounded nice whenever she moved. Her body wasn't sexual, but she had curves in all of the right places and looked like she could easily outshine most women if she wanted. She looked at me with a kind smile that told me she knew I had just been playing with them and was glad I wasn't really I bad person.
"Overseer, we are sorry for failing in our task." The ninja said while kneeling.
"You didn't fail in your task." She sighed out. "Your task isn't to kill anyone who comes, but to test them through combat to see if they are strong enough to be our summoner and alpha."
"So, I thought I was supposed to fight five guardians and meet you afterwards, why am I meeting you now?" I asked in confusion.
"The guardian I am replacing for now is on vacation, he decided to go and work on his hobbies outside of the mountain. Perhaps you heard of him, his name is Inuzu. He left about 300 years or so ago." She said with a thoughtful look.
"I unfortunately have to inform you that he has passed on." I said to their shock. "However his descendants live in the village I am in charge of. They are known to be partners with canines and are considered one of the strongest clans when it comes to hunting and tracking. The clan is called the Inuzuka clan."
"That is good to hear." She said with a sad smile. "He was a good man and a powerful warrior."
The others all looked at us with a mixture of sadness and pride.
"So now that I passed the second test, can I start the third?" I asked with a smile.
"You already have." She told me with a kind smile. "The third test was a test to see your character and whether or not you had the qualifications to order us. You might be a bit perverted, but it is easy to tell that it is also a way that you show affection and attraction to those you want to be with instead of just lust. You also held back by a large margin when you were fighting us and could have easily killed or maimed us. You showed us where our weakest spots were and it will let us improve in the future. These are all qualities of a leader and an alpha."
"Thats good then." I sighed out and sat on the floor. Using the countdown technique is very tiring and anything beyond the first level can start to cause damage to the body if my vitality isn't high enough. At the very least it can cause muscles to tear and at worse can cause the body to break. It is a very physically demanding technique.
"So how do I go about starting this sage mode training Su told me about?" I asked from my sitting position. "Also my name is Alex, what are yours?"
"My name is Vala." The overseer began introducing herself. "Dina" the archer said shyly. "Sina" the ninja whispered. "Dala" the sword wielder boomed out. "Dela" the axe wielder also boomed out.
"It is nice to meet you all." I told them with a smile.
They returned my smile and Vala came next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm going to put some nature chakra into you and you will need to feel the chakra and recognize it in your surroundings. In order to reach sage mode you will need to create a balance between your chakra and the nature chakra along with your physical energies. If you have to much it will turn you to stone and if it remains inside of you it will start to turn you into an animal. The changes can be stopped by releasing the nature chakra from within you so long as it is before you finish transforming. However I will warn you that the changes will happen without you noticing since you will need to focus on balancing the energies and won't notice it until it is already to late." Vala told me seriously. "All of the guardians will watch over you and will hit you to remove the nature chakra from inside of you if we see you changing too much."
"Thanks everyone, but I think I have a good idea on how to do this training without having to worry about it having to much of a negative effect on me."
"Oh, and what might that be?" Vala asked curiously.
"Shadow clones. They are able to send back the memories they make and can turn my training from needing to take years to less then a year or even less depending on how quickly I learn."
Yep, I'm jacking Naruto's sage training method.
"Very well." Vala nodded. "In that case let us begin." She immediately put some nature chakra into me and caused me to grimace in discomfort.
The nature chakra entering my system made my eyesight wave around like a kaleidoscope and made me almost puke from the vertigo. I did my best to feel the chakra and managed to recognize it in the short instant before it dispersed and my eyesight went back to normal.
I could now feel the nature chakra all around me and it dyed the air around me in a greenish blue tint. It was very comforting and made me feel peaceful.
"I see that you can now see the chakra around us." Vala said with a grin. I could see that her chakra was a fiery golden with hints of nature chakra mixed in and there was a shadow of a giant wolf behind her. It must have been her true form and it looked very powerful.
"I seem to be able to see much more than just the nature chakra though." I said with interest.
"Oh, it looks like you have very good inborn perception." Vala nodded. "Your eyes will probably be able to see through lies and pick up on the true form of others as well as their the truth of their words. It is a very good skill to have."
"I guess it's time to get started." I smiled and then summoned shadow clones who sat down to begin training while I kept an eye out for if any of them started to change so that I could release them if it got too serious.
Almost immediately I had to release ten of the thirty I had summoned since they had half transformed and had to completely empty out the nature chakra in my system. In less then ten minutes I had released them all and had gained barely any progress. The one who had lasted the longest started from the smallest amount of nature chakra and had been increasing it repeatedly every time it left his body.
I then summoned another batch of clones and repeated the cycle for another two hours before I had to sit and get back my chakra reserves.
"That is a rather impressive way to train." Dina said as she moved over to me.
"It is much faster then training normally, but it is very intensive on the chakra cost and has its own dangers. If one of my clones fully changes it can cause me to take a change myself. Also because of how much chakra it uses I need to rest after using it so much and won't be able to use my chakra for a while. In a fight to the death this can be a very deadly situation." I told her with a smile.
"Oh, so right now you are pretty weak." Dina said with a smirk.
"Only for right now." I smiled back at her and winked.
She let out a playful growl before jumping at me and tackling me to the ground before mounting me. One thing led to another and we had sex. She was rather wild and liked to be on top which was fine with me. Sina and Su also joined in towards the end and left satisfied. Apparently it was considered normal for the alpha to take the women in the pack and have them give birth to his pups when he took over. The women could have pups with the other males in the pack if they wanted, but the alpha could take the women whenever he felt like it. Or in this case the females would take the alpha. Su of course was super happy about this and hoped she could birth a million puppies so that she could shower them with love and enjoy their cuteness. I was a little worried about that since having that many puppies would be very difficult to explain to anyone. Also it was already going to be interesting since both Dina and Su also hoped to give birth to some pups of their own to teach and expand their clan.
I spent the rest of the month training and I finally reached the point that I had mastered sage mode.
My sage mode caused me to grow claws and sharp teeth while I got tattoos of vines going up my arms and legs. My eyes had a permanent orange eyeshadow around them while my eyes had turned bright red with vertical pupils. I also had crescent moons appear on my forehead facing each other. The last part of my change and possibly the most interesting was that when in sage mode I grew a pair of wolf ears on top of my head.
Vala decided to give me a final test by having me meet her in her cave and hold sage mode for as long as I could.
Once I had went into sage mode she got up from her bed and got undressed in front of me and told me to not lose focus or I would drop the sage mode. I had thought it was odd that she hadn't come to join in on the sex that the other three females and I had, but it turned out that she just wanted to have sex with me alone as a gift for mastering sage mode. Also I found out that having sex with the heightened senses of active sage mode is very intense. It made me hold it for much longer then I had thought I could just for that sensation.
When I was unable to hold sage mode anymore and Vala was satisfied we simply laid on her bed and cuddled together before falling asleep. My last thought before falling asleep was. LOL screw you Jiraya and your toads, I get a damn wolf girl harem while you get grumpy old toads, so suck it.
I may have still been a little upset about him not sharing his research on the human body.
I left the next day after signing a scroll in my blood to be able to summon the wolves to fight with me and was given a thick scroll that had all of the guardians various jutsus. It was as thick and tall as I was. I gave it a quick look over before handing it back and explaining about my memory. They challenged it and had me quickly read various books before asking me about words or sentences on a specific page of the book. It was like they found a new toy before Vala stopped them and led me to go outside. All of the girls gave me long kisses and made me promise to visit them and our pups later. Vala even gave me a necklace she had made using her hair and one of her smaller fangs that would allow any creature with a connection to wolves to recognize me and act in accordance. It was all very sweet.
I went outside and found Tsun and Dere waiting for me. They also had around twenty wolves following them and the twins were once again the size of normal wolves instead of their hill size forms they had before I went into the temple. They saw the necklace and felt the power it sent out and nodded in approval. The twenty wolves behind them simply laid down and showed me their bellies in a submissive pose.
"Since we aren't so large anymore we decided to follow you back to the village." Tsun told me.
"Also there isn't anything to do out here, it's boring as hell." Dere added in with a snort. "It might be open, but the only things to do is hunt and sleep and maybe mate if we feel like it." He continued. "Though Tsun here wouldn't be able to mate with any of these wolves around here." He laughed.
"It's their own faults for being too weak for me to be interested in any of them." Tsun snorted while turning her head away. I could hear the sad whines from the males in the group.
I just laughed and said. "Alright then, you know it wouldn't be the same without you two around anyways. Though, what's with the pack behind you?"
"They decided to follow us back since we were strong and they want to also become strong. We told them a bit about the Inuzuka clan and what it is like being partners with someone and they all want to find their own partners."
"Sure, I don't think that will be a problem." I nodded. "Well lets get going." I then ran off back to the village after putting my weighted clothes back on. I felt like I was forgetting something and it wasn't until I was halfway to the village that I remembered that I had come with two ANBU agents. I had to go back and get them from the mountain.
The two of them had become more wild and seemed almost borderline feral by the time I found them. It turns out that because of how competitive and wild the demon wolves are they had a rough time surviving on the mountain for a month.
The demon wolves were strong and could absorb chakra, but because the two were my subordinates nobody was willing to eat them and make me angry. They wouldn't roll over for them either though, so the two agents had to scrape together and fight off any wolves who tried to steal their food or tried to challenge them for their territory. The two of them had long ago lost their masks and their clothes were only loincloths by this point. They almost attacked me before they realized who I was and cried tears of joy when I told them we were going back to the village.
They journeyed back with me and the new pack and managed to keep up without me needing to slow down by much. It seems the last month was as much training for them as it was for me.
