Everything went on as normal with the Cullens until one day Edward came into my house in an almost panic.

"Oh god, oh god, she knows, she knows." He kept repeating himself while I sat at my desk before turning on some classical music at a low volume. Carlisle was still at work and had another two hours before he got off, that left me or Esme to talk to Edward to try and calm him down.

Edward calmed down a bit when he heard Bach through the speakers. "You listen to classical?" He asked in shock.

"I listen to a little bit of everything, though now that you are calmed down a bit why don't you sit down and talk rationally before you start tearing out your hair."

Edward sat down in my chair and started talking about everything that had happened in Port Angeles.

I had Edward stop for a bit before calling the Port Angeles police and telling them about how the men had threatened one of my friends and threatened to kill her if she didn't let them rape her. Luckily one of the people from her school had saw what was happening and protected her. I then told them the names and descriptions of the men and thanked them for their help before hanging up.

He then went on to tell me about the rest of the day and only mentioned how he had saved her from a near fatal car crash a few weeks ago at the end.

"So what you are telling me is that you saved her from a car crash that would have killed her and made it out that she was imagining things from hitting her head and now you once again saved her, only this time you saved her from getting raped and then proceeded to take her on a nice date where she figured out you have the ability to read minds. You also ended up letting her touch you on accident and now she has literally everything she needs to figure out what you are. Not to mention the fact that she is smart and well read, I doubt she will take long to figure it out if she hasn't already."

"What am I supposed to do?" Edward all but cried into his hands.

"You could kill her." Edward of course looked up at me with a glare full of rage. "Or you can accept that she is going to find out and just be honest with her once she does, supposing she hasn't already."

"I, uh, are you sure those are the only choices?" Edward asked in a small voice.

"The last choice is to make a run for it and hope that she doesn't make a big enough fuss about the existence of vampires to call down the Volturi or other vampires on her, but I believe we both know that she is stubborn enough to do exactly that if she can't get proper answers from you. She will definitely research and search out other vampires just to be proven right even if all it leads to is her getting eaten."

"So telling her the truth, huh." Edward sighed out with a drained chuckle as he gave up.

"Pretty much the only choice you have. Plus, I did already tell you that she was your mate. You just need to accept it yourself and go from there."

"Fine." Edward sighed out in defeat. "I'll tell her the truth when she figures it out. Hopefully she doesn't run away screaming."

"That would be hilarious in its own right." I chuckled.

"No it wouldn't, it is bad enough that I'm having to deal with my own thoughts about being a monster, I don't think I could handle it if she reacted like that too."

"Don't worry about it, Bella might seem fragile but she is as stubborn as they come and is actually pretty courageous. Even if she herself doesn't know it. You'll see."

"Thanks Alex. I'll get going then." Edward gave me a slight nod before heading off back out the door.

He was a lot more calm then when he had been when he first came in here. Kind of funny that he came to me for this instead of Carlisle, but hopefully Carlisle will understand that it is easier to talk to a friend about girl issues instead of a dad. Especially a dad as old fashioned as Carlisle.

I got a phone call from Edward a few days later to let me know she had figured it out and that he had decided to be truthful with her. I kind of doubted he was entirely truthful since with his personality he was probably awkward and depressing as all hell, but she was his mate and if that is okay with her then it was fine. Not to mention that he probably left out a ton of information.

Edward decided that next weekend he would be bringing her to meet his family and was wondering if I would also come over to their house so she wouldn't be the only human there. I decided to go since it sounded like fun.

When I told Carlisle about how I was going to come over that day so that Edward could show off how cool his family is it made him chuckle. He ended up bursting into laughter though when I told him that he would have to have the ridiculously awkward safe sex talk with Edward.

That weekend came pretty quickly. I went over in the morning and was greeted by Esme and Carlisle. Esme was as nice and thoughtful as usual and had already made a pot of coffee for me. Carlisle and I sat in the living room discussing research for about an hour before everyone came into the living room since Edward and Bella were almost there.

I whispered to Alice. "Do you think my plan would work?"

"Not really, it'll just make things awkward for a few minutes and she'll doubt your sanity and be even more awkward around you." Alice told me with a grin. "But I'll get a good laugh out of it. You seriously couldn't find a stuffed cat and went for a unicorn, that's just hilarious."

"The toy store didn't have any cats or even dogs, it was either a unicorn or a monkey." I sighed out with a small grin. "Fine I won't pretend to be some evil mastermind." I heard Emmet chuckle while Rose just snorted. Everyone else just smiled.

My original plan was to pretend I was an evil mastermind who had enslaved the Cullens as I pet my cat like an old school villain and told Bella about my evil master plan to rule the world.

When Edward got home with Bella they came in and Carlisle greeted them. It was all pleasant introductions until they reached me, well as pleasant as Rose can be I guess. When Edward introduced me Bella was equal parts confused and happy. I guess knowing that there is another human here did actually help her relax a bit. She was however confused about why I was even there when I wasn't a vampire.

"Don't worry about it Bella, if you must really find a reason outside of my own entertainment and general fondness for this family then you can just think of it as me getting Carlisle's help with research. I told her with a smile. I do however have a very high amount of care for everyone here and I will also extend that care to you as well seeing as you and Edward are together now."

Bella blushed before letting out a thank you in a tiny voice. Bella had a bunch of questions she had for everyone and was constantly curious, even if she would stop asking questions at the first sign of someone acting unhappy. Basically it was just Rose with Jasper occasionally looking pained. Edward might be controlling himself, but that didn't mean Bella wasn't still as tempting to him and that made it painful for Jasper at times.

Bella seemed awkward in the beginning, but after I kept joking around about all the fake vampire myths and making everyone smile and laugh about the more ridiculous ones she finally relaxed enough to speak normally.

It was decided that since next week was going to have a thunderstorm that the Cullens were going to play baseball and they invited the both of us to join them.

"Oh shit." I muttered to myself. Alice of course noticed my cuss and got a vision.

"Alex, why do I see you kitted out in weapons like some sort of war is going to start tomorrow?" She asked with some mild irritation.

"Well that is when the bad guys will show up, which by the way, you guys should definitely kill them all or you'll really have some difficulties in the future."

"Care to explain that in more detail." Carlisle asked with a worried look.

"Not right now since if I do then the woman with the survival sixth sense will avoid us entirely and that will just cause more problems."

"Okay, well let us know when you can so that we can at least make a plan for them, whoever they are."

The next week came and I met Emmet at their house. Hey Emmet, you waiting on little ol me?

"Oh shut it." He laughed. "I'm here to take you to where we're going to be playing. Edward and Bella already set off so lets get going."

"Okay." I then jumped into his arms in a princess carry. "Onward oh valiant hero." I called out pointing upwards dramatically.

"You're such a weirdo." Emmet grinned at me while shaking his head before rushing off.

The trip was fast and generally smooth. I enjoyed the feeling of moving that fast with the wind blowing on my face and before I knew it we were at the field where everyone was looking at us.

"Oh my hero." I said in a fake fainting tone while putting my hand against my cheek.

Emmet just dropped me on my butt causing me to let out a little grunt. This of course made everyone burst into laughter, even Rose had a huge smile and was laughing at our antics.

I got up and dusted myself off before going over to where Bella was sitting.

"So Bella, you excited to see vampire baseball?" I asked her with a smile.

"Of course, though I've never really been a sports fan since I'm not exactly the most coordinated person. I do think that seeing everyone playing baseball will still be fun though."

"That's good." I said before pulling out what appeared to be two thermos canisters. I then started to pull them until they changed into a pair of chairs. "Here, you can sit on this one." I told Bella with a smile while presenting her with one of the chairs. Bella just nodded with a dumbfounded look on her face. It's much warmer than the metal bleachers and depending on how the storm turns out we might be here for a bit. No need to freeze our butts off while watching.

"I know I can't play because of how bad I am at sports, but are you going to play?" Bella asked me curiously.

"Nah, if I played it would be cheating. Plus they already have equal teams." I laughed at the looks of disbelief everyone was giving me.

Emmet tossed a ball at the spot next to me to scare us a bit and to show that I wasn't all that only to have his jaw drop open when my hand shot out and grabbed the ball from out of the air as soon as it got close to me.

"Catch." I said with a grin as I tossed the ball back to him only to have Emmet fall over backwards from the impact. It sounded like someone had hit a metal wall with the baseball from the sound that rang out. It probably stung him a bit, but it wasn't anything he wouldn't heal from near instantly. Bella just had her mouth hanging open in shock from the whole thing.

I of course just pulled out another thermos of hot tea for Bella and me and pretended nothing had happened while everyone stared in shock before they just decided to ignore the issue.

We watched the game for a little while before Alice and Edward froze up. Alice let out a choked cry saying they were coming and everyone gathered around us.

"Three nomads." Edward hissed out while going over to Bella and fixing her hat while trying to cover her eyes and face with her hair.

Carlisle just looked at me as I stood there calmly and nodded to him with a small smile. This was the group I had told them about. He was obviously against killing them if he could and had asked me beforehand to let him try to deal with them peacefully before resorting to violence.

The three arrived and Carlisle talked to Laurent. Carlisle managed to convince them to go talk at the house later on, but the wind changed direction for a second blowing past Bella and causing James to catch her scent.

"You brought snacks." He said with a grin before beginning to move forward only to be stopped by the Cullens who all dropped down in combat stances.

Laurent and Carlisle defused the situation and were about to walk away before I interrupted.

"I don't think that will be possible Laurent."

"What?" Laurent looked at me. Victoria immediately tried to make a break for it from her danger sense warning her before freezing in shock. James just watched me with interest like a cat looking at a mouse.

Carlisle looked at me and sighed out before looking at Edward who nodded to him and made Carlisle even more depressed.

"Well, while I don't particularly care about you Laurent since you are smart enough not to go against those who are stronger than you, at least not so long as they are able to trace it back to you. Not to mention that because of Chelsea cursing you to not be able to have bonds you won't care even if the other two are destroyed, I will however have to stop the other two from leaving. Victoria is very difficult to deal with since she has a heightened sense for danger that would make hunting her down almost impossible if she decided to run."

"By the way, have you figured out a way to escape yet dear?" I asked in a mocking tone.

"What in the hell did you do, Why do I feel like even a single step from this spot will kill me?" Victoria screamed at me.

"Because it will. You weren't in danger from my traps until Laurent and Carlisle decided to separate and James smelled Bella's scent. I however know exactly how dangerous you and James can be if you are let go. That is why you didn't feel in danger until a little bit ago, because you weren't until then."

"As for you James." I looked at the sneering vampire. "You need to die more than anyone here. After all you are the one who has caused our dear Alice so much pain and suffering in the beginning of her immortal life."

"What?" Alice asked in a quiet whisper. Everyone else including Victoria looked at her in surprise.

"I'm sure Victoria remembers how a while back there was a girl who James was hunting who got turned before he could get to her."

I then went on to describe what had happened to Alice and who she actually was. Alice looked like she wanted to cry and every last one of the Cullens looked like they were ready to beat James to death with his own limbs for what he did to her and her sire.

"That is why even if everyone else leaves, you James can not. Not that you will want to anyways." I said while looking at him while he looked right back at me with a grin.

"I'm going to enjoy killing you, I was planning to kill the girl since she smells so delicious, but you just went to the top of my list for rubbing the only black mark on my hunting career in my face." James let out a snarl at me. "I'm not sure how you know so much about what happened back then, but what is to stop me from running from here right now and finding you later when you don't have an entire coven to protect you?"

"Because if you leave I'll inject myself with this." I told him while pulling out a vial of venom from my pocket. I watched James's eyes widen in shock before I said. "Wouldn't it be sad if you were to lose your prey not once, but twice. After all you wouldn't be able to kill me if I was a vampire living with a coven. Not a very good hunter if you repeatedly can't even get your prey." I mocked him.

James roared out before jumping at me. I raised my arm as fast as I could and shot James in the chest with some paintballs from a wrist launcher under my coat. Victoria screamed at James to stop and just run. She made the mistake of taking a step towards him before being covered in her own covering of gel from my other hand

James was instantly in front of me and kicked me in the chest causing me to fly backwards before he rushed towards me again. He went to punch me only to have me grab him around his wrist. I swung around on his wrist and put my feet on his side before pulling his arm off with the sound of metal tearing.

"What in the hell?" James yelled out in shock as Victoria screamed at him to run away as she tried to get past the Cullens who were blocking her while protecting Bella. Laurent just stood still while watching my fight with a look of shock and disbelief.

I just smiled and shot James some more with paintballs.

"Stop shooting me with those annoying little things." He sneered at me. "What in the hell are you? No human can fight a vampire like this."

"Sure thing." I sneered right back before shooting my last one at him. When it hit him he just sneered at me some more before he burst into flames and began running around in a panic.

"No." Victoria screamed out in heartbreak before running to James to put out the fire. She of course ended up on fire herself from the gel on her and joined him in running around and screaming. After a couple of seconds they both fell down and just kept burning.

I of course just stood there watching them burn along with everyone else. I heard my system go off and had gained 40 levels from the both of them. It was probably because they had abilities that I got so many levels, though it could also be an experience factor.

I walked back to where Carlisle and everyone was standing while they all looked at me in shock. Laurent was frozen in fear and wouldn't look me in the eye. Bella was in the most shock though, since she had never seen someone get killed before, and certainly not in such a gruesome fashion.

"Edward, you should take Bella back to the house and have a talk with her, she looks like she is about to have a panic attack." I told him causing everyone to snap out of their shock to quickly look at Bella who instantly started to blush from all the attention.

"Ahh, look at that, she's blushing." I teased.

"Shut up." Bella mumbled before looking away with a frown.

I just chuckled before turning to Laurent. "Now the question is, what do I do about you?"

"Isn't it good enough that you killed the other two, can we not just let Laurent leave in peace?" Carlisle asked in a pleading manner.

"I can, but the problem is that Laurent isn't exactly the most trustworthy vampire out there, are you Laurent?" I said while looking at the nervous looking vampire with a smile.

"I swear to never tell anyone about what happened here today and will do everything I can to stay away from your coven." Laurent swore. If vampires could sweat I'm sure he would be in a puddle right about now.

I just walked over to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Of course you won't, after all if you did come back for revenge or went around talking about what happened here today I would be forced to hunt you down. I'm sure you can already guess from how things turned out for the other two what would happen to you. I should also warn you that with the humans and my own technology there isn't any place in this world you can hide from me, not even the Volturi would be able to save you from my wrath."

Laurent made an audible swallow before forcing out a grin that looked beyond painful. "Of course."

"I would personally advise you to go to either South America or Africa since those places don't have the Volturi controlling them, it would be a shame if Aro read your memories and learned about today since you would have then broken your word." I smiled at him with a grin that most certainly wasn't a grin.

"I'll make sure to avoid breaking my word." Laurent said while shaking in fear.

"All good then, have a nice trip." I told him before letting go of his shoulder and watching as he turned around and made a run for it. I had already deactivated the traps I set up to trap them if they decided to run instead of fight. Never thought James would be so arrogant and Laurent would be so cowardly. I think he moved even faster than any vampire I had ever met while he fled from me.

After a couple of minutes everyone let out a sigh before Emmet burst into laughter.

"Damn Alex, if vampires could piss themselves I think Laurent would have. You scared the hell out of him."

"Thanks Alex." Alice said after coming up to me to give me a hug and kiss my cheek.

"Don't mention it Alice." I told her with a smile and gave her a hug.

"Now why don't we go back to the house to meet back up with Edward and Bella. I really don't think anyone is in the mood for baseball anymore." I said with a grin.

I then tossed a few more paintballs on the fires that were dying out on Victoria and James after reloading my wrist launchers. Just to make sure.

After that we went back to the house with Emmet giving me a ride. I was faster and stronger than a normal person by far, but I still wasn't as fast as a vampire. I think they would have about 200 points in speed if we went by my system.

"So, is all of the traps taken down?" Carlisle asked with a worried look. "I don't want any of my family or my friends to end up dead from stepping on the wrong patch of grass."

"They are all deactivated I told him with a grin and a nod. I'll go collect them later, or I could leave them so you could have some better protection for your family." I told Carlisle with a contemplative look.

"What even was all of that?" Jasper asked. "It looked like a paintball, but it smelled off."

"It was a paintball with the paint inside of it removed and replaced with the gel used in flamethrowers. I got some from my contact in the military and learned how to make my own. The traps around the forest had the same substance only in the form of dummy mines that I had modified to react to vibrations instead of pressure."

"I then used a self ignition liquid I designed to set off the gel. It is only able to ignite when exposed to the air and burns very quickly. Even the gel has a very short amount of time to be set on fire before it would evaporate into the air once exposed to the air."

"That is an interesting and quite inventive way to fight, but I really wish there had been a different way that could have played out." Carlisle said with a nod.

"I did tell you all repeatedly that I wasn't afraid of vampires, I even showed you a portion of my defenses at my house. Not to mention that James didn't really leave any other options, not that I would have given him any to begin with."

"True enough, though it would have been nice if you hadn't let my family play on top of a minefield without telling us beforehand."

"Where would be the fun in that? The spice of life is all about surprises." I said with an excited twirl.

"That is so many levels of stupid I just don't know where to begin." Rose said with a smirk.

"Don't be jelly of my whirlwind, you know you want to twirl too." I told her with a grin.

Everyone laughed before heading inside where Edward was sitting with Bella. She seemed much calmer and I found out that Edward had already told her about what would have happened if I hadn't killed the two of them. I had let Edward know of what was supposed to happen if I hadn't gotten involved.

Bella still wasn't entirely comfortable with the thought of killing others, but she seemed to have accepted it. Though she wouldn't look me in the eyes for weeks afterwards. Though that might have just been because I had beat a vampire in a fist fight by literally ripping his arm off while smiling. Not exactly the most normal behavior someone could have.

After that things went in a much more normal manner. Well at least as normal as things around Forks goes.
