As much as Bella and Edward love each other, they can't possibly understand what the other's life is like.
On Bella's 18th birthday, instead of a paper cut, a switch is about to make Forks even weirder.
How will Bella cope with suddenly being a 104-year-old mind-reading vampire in love with her singer? And how will Edward cope with being a human in love with a vampire?

Chapter 4
Bella tried to keep her eyes open as she settled under her covers because she hoped to still be awake when Edward returned, but it proved harder than she thought. Usually, the room would be too hot without his cool body next to her, but the air coming in from the open window was icy enough to simulate the same temperature.
Her last thought as she drifted off was that she wouldn't stand down the next day and demand to know why Edward was so reluctant about changing her.
A loud buzz of voices caused her to shoot up into a sitting position and look around the room in confusion. She immediately recognized it as Edward's room, although there were a few unfamiliar knickknacks scattered around.
Had she fallen asleep at the Cullen house after her birthday? She could have sworn Edward drove her home.
The buzz continued and within it, she thought she could distinguish Alice's voice as well as Emmett's, but mostly it was an unrelenting hum. She put her fingers in her ears and realized with a start that the voices didn't go away nor change in volume.
She swept her eyes over the room again and noticed how sharp everything was and how easy it was for her to see every little detail of every object. There was also a dull burning in her throat and as she raised her hands to look at them, they were noticeably paler than before.
There was no mirror in Edward's room, but it was still dark enough outside for there to be a reflection in the glass wall. Bella stared at her image in confused wonder and horror because the eyes staring back at her were a light gold, and her face was terrifyingly symmetrical and smooth.
It was still her, but definitely not the same Bella who had gone to sleep the night before.
What had happened?
