A/N:

No meeting between Edward and Bella yet because I honestly forgot this chapter was in-between, but you get a small interaction between Bella and Alice that might answer one of the questions you have about those surrounding them :)

Chapter 8

"Why wouldn't I be okay?" Bella asked Alice, hoping it would reassure her. She wasn't certain if it was a good idea to tell Alice about what was going on. Not that she knew what that was herself.

The only thing she did know was that she had to find Edward and she knew exactly where she needed to go.

"Because you look rattled," Alice thought and then finished talking out loud. "And you've stayed in your room the entire night, not making a single sound. We all thought you were supposed to head back to Edward's."

"I was!" Bella exclaimed causing Alice to give her a befuddled look. "I mean, I'm headed there now."

"O-kay, if you're sure you're fine." Alice left and Bella heard her heading towards her and Jasper's room. "See you at school, I guess."

She hurried to change her clothes since the ones she was wearing were wrinkled and creased. The closet was stocked to the brim with designer clothes and boots with various heel heights. There wasn't a single sensible shoe or simple t-shirt in sight, but she also knew she wouldn't have an issue with wearing the expensive threads either because she'd done it for decades.

It was a strange sensation—to remember two distinctly separate lives, knowing both of them belonged to her, and she wondered if the same applied to Edward. In this life, she had clear, sharp memories of him as a human. Basically the male version of herself in her other life.

What would she do if this human Edward wasn't also her Edward? What if he didn't share this weird experience with her? If he didn't remember their other life, how would she get back to herself?

She was finally a vampire, as she'd wanted for so long, but now Edward was a human. They were still separated by time and venom and impossible circumstances, and she knew, without the shadow of a doubt, that she wouldn't be able to give her Edward up in order to stay a vampire.

But before she jumped to too many conclusions, she had to meet up with this life's Edward.

A/N:

To clarify, the only ones who kept their memories of their other life is Edward and Bella. The others only know the life in which Bella was changed by Carlisle in 1918 and Edward was born to Renee and Charlie Swan in 1987 :D
