Zeus and Hera regained consciousness.
PIPER DREAMED SHE WAS…Cherokee myth to explain them
Piper chuckled but got a dark look as she remembered what was going on with her dad. As if sensing her thoughts, Jason gave her a small smile. Her heart practically did a somersault. What was going on here?
Piper knew the answer to her own question. She was liking Jason…again and this time not because of fake memories but actually. It made her feel extremely guilty. She had a girlfriend. She knew only one person who could help with the confusion that made her heart ache. Her mother. She would have a talk with her mother in the break.
But at the moment…"Like right now.
Leo sighed but didn't look upset or anything. He understood. And nor was he fond of being a third wheel. He had been one most of his life. Now he had friends who cared and also had a girlfriend.
You know how much trouble…"That, I can believe."
"That, anybody can easily believe." Annabeth laughed. Piper grinned and nodded.
He stood and offered her…she was too busy smiling
There were a few wolf whistles. Thalia nudged her brother and grinned at him. Jason and Piper turned bright red and wouldn't look at each other.
Then her dream changed…not my eternal punishment."
Nico gave a light chuckle.
Piper turned, afraid she'd…Piper's ideal of beauty.
"You're sweet." Aphrodite smiled at Piper who grinned at her.
"Why thank you." She said
"Aphrodite," Piper said…crowded together in her head.
"That happened to me too." Leo said "In the dream that I had." He said
"I guess it's always a lot of questions when you meet your godly parent because like you have questions since childhood." Beckendorf explained.
"Yeah, you have to figure out healthy ways to talk though." Chris said with a small smile.
Aphrodite held up a turquoise dress…more pleasant, I know."
Piper and Jason's faces burned.
"Please stop hacking into our previous dreams. I mean a dream visit is great but please don't look at the ones we have before you come into our dreams." Katie said. The gods chuckled.
Piper's face burned…might be — don't give up
Aphrodite and Silena nodded.
Unfortunately -" The goddess gestured…Doors of Death have opened."
"Not good." Hades shook his head
"That's screwed all right." Nico agreed worriedly.
"What do you mean?"…likely to hate the gods."
"Well that's just great." Percy sighed.
"The monsters are coming back…anything but perfect."
"Aww thank you. You truly are sweet." Aphrodite cooed at Piper who sighed and shrugged.
"Eh. Not all that sweet." She said. Aphrodite chuckled.
"You're sweet," Aphrodite said…about him in the past tense?"
"I'm sorry dear." Aphrodite said
I didn't want to leave your…she'd fallen in love with Zeus.
"You know what I should do now? Go give my mother a freaking bear hug." Will stated
"The biggest of all." Percy agreed
"And my dad." Katie nodded.
"And our mom." The Stolls said at the same time.
"I wish I could." Leo and Frank said at the same time. Nico sighed and nodded.
Leo and Frank just hugged each other for now which did surprise a few demigods but they gave a small sad smile nonetheless. Then Ares gave a side hug to Frank while Hazel gave him a bear hug. Leo gave a hug to Beckendorf. Percy hugged Tyson and Tyson grinned widely and hugged him back. As usual it was a tight hug which made Percy wheeze but he didn't pull away.
Hermes decided to continue after he gave side hugs to his kids.
No, it was much better…forget what he's been through?"
Piper looked a little shocked.
"He should, Piper." Castor said quietly. "It would be better for him if he did." He said
"But I can't take away his memories like that!" she said
"You should, Piper. It would be better for him to not remember whatever they showed him." Chris said, his voice breaking. Clarisse put a hand on his shoulder.
"Chris-" She started
"Clarisse. I think- I think everybody should know now." He said with a sad smile. Clarisse nodded and squeezed his hand.
"Piper, having to live with those memories for your dad would shatter him. That's what the giant wants just like Castor said. And the visions- I-I also don't remember what Minos did to me and I'm really really glad about that and forever grateful to Mr.D for that." Chris said, pausing to give Dionysus a grateful look at which the god gave a small smile. He really admired what Chris was trying to do right now. Trying to talk about their own madness was not easy at all. It's not easy to be said and definitely not done.
"He-he doesn't live in our world Piper. Not as a demigod. He lives as a mortal who doesn't have clear eyesight and wants to stay away from it and to remember being captured, tortured and forced it won't help him. It will scar him more than you can imagine. He'll just be there in physical form, his soul and mind would just not be there. He would be dead while being alive and would never ever be there truly." Chris said as he swallowed.
"I don't know remember the visions that I was shown but I was driven to utter insanity, without any sense of who I was and of who anybody was. I didn't know where I was and at that time there was nothing I wanted more than to be dead rather than be alive with my mind snapped and my soul breaking slowly and I am a demigod. I am a direct part of this world, son of a god. If that happened to me when I believed in it all…" Chris said, his voice cracking and breaking in the middle, yet the horrible truth and situation of it all was clearly audible though some wished that it wasn't.
"The visions that they're going to show your dad are going to be much worse than mine because I was driven to insanity by a ghost. Your dad has been captured by giants who are way more powerful. And your dad's mortal. He doesn't want to believe what is true and he lives in fear that it will somehow be true. His mind will break worse than mine did. He'll be capable of speech but if you can't save him in time then he won't be there inside the body of your father. If you save him now, talk to him and make him relax a little, he will say your name or something at the first but then as time progresses it will get worse." Chris said, his eyes blurring but he managed to keep a strong expression.
"You have to take his memories, Piper. It will be better for both you. For your dad because he can return to normal mostly and for you because you won't have to see your dad in that condition." Chris said as he finished. He wiped his eyes and swallowed thickly.
Everybody was just staring at him with wide eyes, not knowing what to say. Their eyes and expressions were filled with pain. Some of the demigods were taking shaky breaths while the others were crying. Piper shook as she thought of all that Chris said happening to her dad. She hugged her knees. Aphrodite and Silena hugged her.
The Hermes kids were swallowing thickly and immediately jumped on their half-brother and pulled him into a hug. Hermes' entire world was appearing blurry. His eyes were filled with pain and he was frozen to his spot, not able to move until it all came rushing down on him. He pulled Chris into a tight hug as he apologized. Chris kept telling him that it was okay and was not his fault at all. After hugging Chris, Hermes went and gave Dionysus a hug, which surprised the god a lot but hugged his brother back.
Clarisse squeezed Chris' hand and slung her arm across his shoulders. The other demigods were just rooted to their spot in shock and pain. They couldn't process what Chris had told them. They didn't mind as such the words but the fact that he had gone through it is what shook them the most. Castor, Pollux and Dakota sighed. They knew what Chris said was right. They hated that he had gone through that but they understood what he said and they already knew the symptoms of madness so they weren't as shocked as the other demigods.
The gods knew the symptoms as well but it sent chills down their spine as they thought of a demigod going through it and Piper's dad going through it if Piper couldn't save him or give him the vial. It also made them feel a huge wave of sadness for Hermes. They couldn't imagine what he was going through, hearing about his son describe his own madness.
"Look guys. I want you all to listen to me." Chris said. Everybody's gazes snapped to his.
"Dad. I don't blame you at all, not even a decimal number for the madness. You're not at fault at all. And I'm okay now. I've recovered and I'm really happy now. The experience is left with me. I don't know how it is as we don't have our memories but I'm really happy now." Chris said. Hermes gave him a very small smile. Everybody else nodded.
"I think that the reason you remember it is because it was one of the most traumatizing events in your life. And though we've all been through traumatizing events, insanity…it's a different level altogether. That's probably one of the reasons you have the memory and also as we finished reading the fourth book. The fates probably also knew that you would have to talk to Piper and get it all out of your system. I'm guessing that's the only traumatizing memory, your properly remember after the third book?" Nico said. Chris nodded.
Chiron caught the note that flew just then.
"Good job, Nico. Exactly on point." Chiron read out. Nico nodded. Hades wasn't sure how he felt about Nico getting a compliment from the fates but he figured it was good.
Suddenly Percy jumped as if he'd been electrocuted and clutched his ears.
"Percy?!" The sea gang and Annabeth asked in panic
"Perce!" The other demigods said with worried looks. Percy held up a finger.
"One sec." he choked out. He rubbed his head and closed his eyes.
"I got them back." He muttered "I got the memories that the fates took. I remember everything that happened in the battle of labyrinth and Manhattan but nothing more than that." He said with wide eyes. The demigods eyes' also grew wide and within a second, as if it was some sort of extremely fast spreading gas and they also clutched their ears and their ears buzzed. The gods looked extremely worried but knew that their memories were returning as well.
Once the demigods removed their hands from their ears their eyes also widened but they sighed. And then the next turn was the gods. They clutched their ears as whatever they knew came back. Their memories weren't as much as the demigods because as they guiltily admitted to themselves, they didn't know about their childrens' quest firsthand but knew them through books.
"We should continue to read." Hestia said softly. Everybody nodded. Hermes had the book so he continued.
Aphrodite held up the vial…thus break your spirit."
Chris, Castor and Pollux nodded.
Piper wanted to shout that…someone to blame, too
Piper wiped her eyes and Silena gave her a hug. Aphrodite gave a sad smile. Jason wanted to comfort Piper but he knew that that would be quite awkward in front of each other. He was planning on talking to Aphrodite in the next break as well.
"Who is she?"…conceited and shallow."
"Some of them are." Piper said with a small smile and light chuckle. Aphrodite laughed.
"Maybe." She agreed
"Not all of them are dismissed though." Beckendorf said, kissing Silena's forehead. The demigods grinned and whistled. Aphrodite chuckled and the other gods smiled.
"Some of them are."
Everybody laughed.
Aphrodite laughed…shallow, too, sometimes.
"Sometimes, yes." Hephaestus nodded.
A girl has to indulge…up for Piper to see. "No?"
"No." Everybody chorused.
"No," Piper said.
They all laughed.
"Are you going to answer…became the forebear of Rome.
The Romans nodded.
"Exactly. You see, Piper…Standing on a seashell?"
"The painter had quite an imagination." Aphrodite chuckled.
The goddess laughed…I'm the eldest Olympian god.
"Hestia's the most mature one though even though she appears as an eight year old." Hades said with a warm smile towards his sister who returned it and grinned.
"Facts." Everybody said in unison and nodded.
As I said, love is a…all civilization will burn."
"Sounds pleasant." Clarisse said sarcastically.
"But Gaea? Mother Earth?"…The first great hero of Rome.
"So kind of like a one in three odds." Piper deadpanned.
"Depends on how you carry things out." Aphrodite said with a smile.
The result will depend on you…there is friendship or bloodshed."
"So no pressure." Piper sighed.
"I'm sorry dear but I'm guessing that it's the truth." Aphrodite said. "Though all the seven will have a part to play." She said. Piper sighed and nodded.
"What two sides?"…the power to save Olympus.
"Exactly!" Hera said. Zeus sighed.
Now, wake, and I hope you…but the dream faded to black.
"Mom." Piper sighed and gave a light groan. Aphrodite grinned mischievously.
"Done with the chapter." Hermes said
"I'll read." Katie said
